By the way I encourage Trump to keep right on attacking Hillary with ads like the one I linked to above. After all it only helps her and hurts him.
For instance take a look at this:
Half of U.S. women say they have a "very unfavorable" view of the front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination, according to Reuters/Ipsos polling, up from the 40 percent who felt that way in October. The survey was taken from March 1-15, and included 5,400 respondents.
I imagine the other half of the women outright despise him.
Well at least they should.
So to be clear Hillary will have the women, Hispanics, African Americans, eventually Bernie Sanders youthful supporters, and of course smart people voting for her.
And Donald Trump will carry the hater and loser vote.
Which apparently he predicted two years ago.
Okay I'm ready, let's do this thing!I wonder if I run for PRESIDENT, will the haters and losers vote for me knowing that I will MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN? I say they will!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 26, 2014
(H/T to Crooks and Liars.)
If she was any sort of candidate worth her salt she'd not be goaded into responding. Sometimes silence is the best weapon against a bully. But hey, she's not paying for that ad, so no I'm sure she doesn't care.
ReplyDeleteThe General Election has begun, and she should answer Trump as she sees fit. He's an idiot, so if he points that out himself, all the better.
DeleteI used to think that way too but it turns out that people think that "silence is affirmation".
DeleteRiighht, 4:18. I think Hillary should go silent until after the November election. Boy, will that show him! Take the high road, Hillary, don't respond to attacks, don't correct misconceptions and don't defend yourself against one of the biggest bullies in politics. Riighht.
DeleteClinton and her advisors are smarter than you, 4:18.
Delete@ 4:18. Since I am a brilliant female, I noticed right away the senselessness of your reply. If Hillary didn't pay for this ad, how is it that this is her response to that bully?
DeleteI'm with you Gra*ma Banana 5:11. In 2004 John Kerry responded too slowly to the Bush campaign that was Swift-boating him.
Delete"If she was any sort of candidate worth her salt she'd not be goaded into responding. "
Delete--------------
Right. That worked so well for John Kerry.
Ask Al Gore how that worked out for him while you are asking John Kerry. He didn't reply to the internet claim. He just laughed it off. Most people know that Al didn't say he invented the internet, but he did a lot to create a place for it to be invented. He should have corrected it, but he also should hand stood on his and Mr. President Clinton record.
DeleteTrump's attack ad was puerile, it begged to be mocked.
DeleteYou may want to re-write this sentence:
ReplyDelete'So to be clear Hillary will have the women, Hispanics, African Americans, eventually Bernie Sanders youthful supporters, and of course smart people voting for her.'
You mean by 'smart people' smart white males, no? If not, it sounds like all the groups in their boxes above are not smart, plus that only white males are people...
Time for some introspection perhaps?
So you don't see any overlap in the other categories?
DeleteThere are no Hispanic women? No smart black people? No Bernie supporters who are not white?
HUH? Quit looking for things that simply are not there, Scruffer.
DeleteWell I am a woman and a minority with an IQ of 167.
DeleteBTW Bernie does not have all the youth vote and never has had. Now run along and tell your Mommy that she failed to raise you with respect for women.
Scruffer is a typical Bernie Bro and has smoked too much weed to understand the post.
DeleteI had no trouble understanding what Gryphen was saying. I mean, it's obvious right away when he names "women," who make up the majority of voters and the group consists of women of all sorts of nationalities and backgrounds. I guess people need to go back to elementary math class and refresh their memories about union sets.
DeleteI actually agree with Scruffer. The sentence is worded badly. It implies that none of the groups mentioned fall into the smart category.
DeleteIf you're looking for something/anything to pick apart, 5:19 PM.
DeleteNot at all, 5:25. I am a big fan of this blog and Gryphen. I was simply being honest and voicing my opinion. I refuse to pile on anyone who dares to stray off the herds path. We can disagree civilly, otherwise we should perhaps become Trump supporters. They don't like anyone to challenge their leaders words, either.
DeletePoint taken!
Deletelol "I am a woman and a minority with an IQ of 167"...... sure you are lol.
Delete5:57 -- Agree. Have you seen the Alternet post of March 8th? -- To Beat Trump, Hillary Must Become a Transformational Candidate: 9 Steps She Can Take
DeleteHillary needs to up her game, especially if Trump is the GOP nominee.
Simply laughing at him in a smug, dismissive way is not helpful, IMHO.

In a related way, here are a set of international cartoons laughing at Trump.
Deletehttp://occupydemocrats.com/2016/03/13/cartoonists-12-countries-illustrated-trump-results-devastatingly-accurate/
These are scary times and these international cartoons are reflective & funny, but Trump's supporters are now apostles in their secular veneration of this rich (not bought out) Strongman who legitimizes and incites revenge for their long-held anger at feeling dismissed & mocked by both political parties and government in general.
When I see cartoons of Obama as an ugly monkey, it doesn't change my admiration of his Statesmen-like grace & accomplishments despite grinding Congressional opposition -- it just makes me wonder how regressives can see him & his Presidency so differently.
Well, I suspect it's the same for the "other side" -- cartoons like this only make Trump's widening-as-we-speak base more entrenched in their opinions, and, I presume, even angrier than their current default position.
Great laughs & exposes at the expense of the GOP via clever late-time comedians only come from the choir to the choir: do progressives watch TV shows dedicated to "destroying" the Democrats? Do you watch Fox News, listen to right-wing radio, follow right-wing websites? Didn't think so. So how can the right be reached with reasonableness and facts (which they insist are Liberal Lies)? Beats me.
The Left is convinced the Right-Wing is entrenched in Epistemic Closure -- holding fast to beliefs rooted in a false and insular reality despite compelling outside evidence to the contrary. To continually point this out is not getting us and the world anywhere.
Bernie's "side" is just as passionate. We need to fight fire with fire. I just don't think Hillary is connecting with the anger of the Left.
The Hillary comeback is great. Sometimes it's best to do nothing, but I like that someone immediately let Trump know that if he wants to play this game, he is equally matched. Her reply comes across as effortless and very funny, much funnier than his ad. As well, this is just a sign of all that could come if Hillary wished to drag out the many, many embarrassing pieces of info there are on Trump.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the Clinton machine has everything they need to know about The Donald!
DeleteJust look at all the idiotic things he's said that are out there - all these years worth of his racism, lies, being a bully, Trumpism crap, etc.
There is going to be so much to use against him and I can hardly wait to watch it all! Hillary Clinton - you'll have my vote!
I may have to replay that ad a dozen times just to get through the next week.
ReplyDeleteIt's terrific!
I LOVE it. Hillary's sense of humor is refreshing, poor Melania is rolling on the floor laughing her ass off while Donny makes his own oatmeal. "I speak a lot to myself, I've got a good brain, and have said a lot of good things" And did I mention I'm humble too???????
ReplyDeleteCan I get a tattoo with that on it????
Love that quote, along with that one where he says he has the "best words."
DeleteSubmiss to your next president.
DeleteSubmiss?
DeleteI would venture to say that "only" losers and haters will vote for Drumpf.
ReplyDeleteA letter from the President is making its way to a 76-year-old letter writer in Cuba via direct mail for the first time in 50 years.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2016/03/17/asked-and-answered-sending-direct-mail-cuba-first-time-50-years
http://theobamadiary.com/2016/03/17/grace-grit-and-intellect/
It says at the end that it's paid for by Priorities USA Action, not authorized by any candidatess(sic) committee. So not Hillary's response, but that of a group that supports her.
ReplyDeleteThis ad is great. I'm a woman who despises that cretin. I'm for Hillary attacking him till he squirms. You know he's going to - see Megyn Kelly. He cannot stand women & it's going to show on the debate stage. - sjp
ReplyDeleteEspecially 'smart' women! He only uses them for sex objects - look at the wives he's had and has!
DeleteYes, thedonald, the haters and the losers WILL vote for you. They've been turning out for you in droves and punching out others who dare take an opposite view. Our only hope is that there are more of us than of them.

ReplyDeletehttps://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2015/07/20/what-donald-trump-was-up-to-while-john-mccain-was-suffering-as-a-prisoner-of-war/
The fact that Trump is already threatening riots if he doesn't get the nomination says it all.
ReplyDeleteHe is going to bully his way, no matter what it takes and he has his henchmen by his side.
Hillary is going to make mince meat of him on the debate stage.
Just wait until they ask him again who advises him on foreign policy and he answers "I advise myself".
So he is talking to himself and he answers himself back. Maybe his meds need adjusting.
I hope Trump won't boycott the General Election debates!
Delete@ 8:24 -- He very well could. He's apparently "over" them.
DeleteTrump would be scared to death to debate Hillary Clinton! She's far smarter and more experienced in government! Plus, she'd not take his bullshit and he knows it!
Deleteit was godawful to see that dispicable bachman creature being interviewed by Chris Matthews. (why does he bother?) I don't normally talk to my tv but before I could stop myself I said, "shut the bitch up!" When will this nightmare end? They don't support Trump, they don't support Obama, what in the hell do they support? Apparently, not America. They gridlocked, blocked, obstructed every effort of our country to move forward, and now they are trying to take us back to the civil war. The party of the Assholes.
ReplyDeleteHe interviewed Bachmann? Holy crap, why doesn't he interview Christine O'Donnell while he's at it? Sheesh.
DeleteIt was discusting. He asked questions about Trump and her answers were all about criticizing Hillary. Usually Chris interrupts but he let her talk.
DeleteI couldn't believe it either. I understand being impartial, etc. but hate my time with Bachman? Oh please she is irrelevant at this time. LOL on Christine O' Donnell. I think Matthews is losing it & II've all but given up on MSNBC.
DeleteTrump supporters.

Is Sarah a Hater, or a Loser?
ReplyDeleteDo losers hate because they are losers, or do they lose because they hate?
DeleteOT Bitchy B has posted a video of Tripp, claiming it's Tripp's first "real" time on a snowboard. Funny about that, Bitchy B- I saw Tripp having a "real" time on a snowboard just last week. No one was laughing at him tho, so I guess you brought something new.
ReplyDeleteOne of my pet peeves any more is the word "haters." It is truly a middle school concept and should be banned in adult discourse. By the time we are adults, we should be able to see that the world is not such a simple-minded place divided into "lovers" and "haters." Donald Trump and his adoring pal Sarah Palin speaks and behaves like nine year-olds.
ReplyDeleteBeaglemom
So do many Americans, thanks to the infantilization brought about by decades of American TV.
