Okay kids it's another primary day. But then right now isn't every day a primary day? Update!

So what's on the menu for today?

Let's see on the Democrat side we have Michigan with 130 delegates and Mississippi with 36.

According to Fivethirtyeight Hillary has a 99% chance of wining Michigan and since Mississippi has a large African American community she will undoubtedly win there as well.

As for Donald Trump and the rest of the Republican clown car, they have Michigan (59 delegates) which 538 predicts will go for Trump, Mississippi (40 delegates) where Trump also leads, Hawaii (19 delegates) where I have no idea which way the balmy wind is blowing, and Idaho (32 delegates) where Trump is currently in the lead.

So essentially is appears that there will be no surprises tonight.

But then again that's what everybody says until they get surprised.

Update: MSNBC is calling Mississippi for Hillary, and categorizing it as a HUGE win.

Update 2: Trump is now the projected winner in Mississippi. No surprises so far.

Update 3: Trump projected to win Michigan on the Republican side, and it is still too close to call for the Democrats.

Update 4: Okay so finally they called Michigan for Sanders, but only by the slimmest of margins. It looks like all of the pollsters were wrong about this one.

Update 5: Cruz wins Idaho.

Hillary takes another high minority state.

    1. The youth are still huge Bernie supporters. The DNC better be very careful not to alienate the young voters. (And Julien Castro is not the answer.)

I know that young people like Bernie Sanders. Let's hope that if he becomes the nominee they'll continue to be enthusiastic or, if Hillary Clinton wins the nomination they'll be smart enough to support her enthusiastically. This election is extremely important.

    3. The DNC better be very careful. If the youth that are supporting Bernie feel the selection process is rigged due to all those special delegates already pledged to Hillary, it won't matter who she picks as a running mate. The youth will desert or at least not vote at all as that is completely opposite to the message and values that Bernie is running on.

And yes, they are that dumb. They rigged the nomination for Kerry and look what happened.

I used to think it was fun to watch returns come in even though the pundit/talking head chatter annoys me. Cable news has taking the fun out of it for me with theses early calls on projected winner.

With 1% of the vote counted, MSNBC is already projecting MS for Trump.

With about 1% of MI vote counted, they're saying they'll project the Dem winner in 30 minutes when last polling place closes.

Seems Bernie is really only doing well with the not being able to use proper punctuation demographic and not with any minorities.

So, by your logic, Hillary is only doing well with the run on sentence crowd. Why must you try to be cute? You're not.

Umm… The "run on sentence crowd" is part of the group that can't use proper punctuation. According to Anonymous 4:50 PM, this is the only group where Bernie is really doing well.

So why do you believe that 4:50 PM is implying that Hillary is only doing well with part of that same group? Perhaps you should try parsing the OP's sentence again.

Better Business Bureau: Trump Lied About Trump University Rating

The Better Business Bureau on Tuesday briskly refuted a number of statements that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has made about Trump University, the now-defunct real estate seminar provider that many students allege was a scam.

In last Thursday's Republican debate, the candidate defended Trump University despite the multiple lawsuits brought by former students and the state of New York.

Challenged by Fox News moderator Megyn Kelly about Trump University's D-minus rating from the Better Business Bureau, Trump said that "right now it is an A."

During a commercial break, Trump was caught on camera presenting the debate hosts with a piece of paper that he said showed that rating. "The Better Business Bureau just sent it," Trump can be heard telling Fox News moderator Bret Baier. "This just came in, we just got it."

In today's world I sometimes wonder if this generation appreciates old-time comedians such as Jackie and Audrey. Their comedy, among others, is classic gold. They did it without ever saying "fuck" once.

They split the delegates so I think whoever wins, it's going to be more of a symbolic victory (or loss) than anything else, but it's exciting to see a split of only 10-20k votes at this point.

Watching Hillery on MSNBC. She's gotta get rid of those bimbos sitting behind her to her right. They are more interested in the kerfuffle going on behind the scenes - a heckler? It's annoying and distracting that these ladies keep pointing and looking off stage and then waving their little flags when the audience claps.

The U.S. media is keeping the pundit class employed but damaging our politics with non-stop horse-race coverage, in general, and everything Trump, specifically.

I've heard that women get grumpier as they age and that seems to be happening to me. Even Rachel is irritating me tonight. The media failure I noticed in 2008--avoiding substantive coverage of Palin in order to ensure an interesting horse race--hasn't changed and may be worse.

I quit Rachel two weeks ago, I was all Trumped out and she has very little other conversation aside from a few plugs for Bernie Sanders. The reasons I used to love her show don't seem to matter much to her any more.

I can't stand Rachel anymore. If she had a job that depended on efficient communication, she'd be fired. She says everything 3 or 4 times. I'd rather see a half an hour show that a repetitive one. #FeelTheStern

Early last evening my husband was watching MSNBC's pundits while I was working in the kitchen. All that I heard was their semi-hysterical noise. What kind of drugs do these people take before doing election night coverage?

Another interesting wrinkle - Clinton beat Sanders by 16 points among Democrats; lost by 42 among independents

    ****

I guess some of these indies are the Sanders people who say they'd vote for Trump if Sanders isn't the nominee. Do we know they'd vote for him if he were the nominee?

As a former GOP and currently registered independent, this primary season is turning me into a partisan Democrat who thinks committed party members should chose their party's nominees.

No surprise to me that Bernie won in Michigan, as his message hits home to the struggles my own family there face. I had felt that those surveys couldn’t possibly be right. Can’t wait for my turn to caucus for him in my state!

I’m with Bernie all the way through to Jan 20, 2017!

There was a letter in my MI paper today from a college history prof urging the GOP to vote for Sanders to stop Hillary. I suspect this is a national movement, and explains how he 'won' Michigan. We have an open primary, so anyone can take a Democratic ballot. The GOP is so insane that I can see people doing this. They would much rather face Bernie in the fall, than Clinton, and they will do anything to make that happen. So Bernie fans, congrats, but realize that there is an underlying stink.

That happened here in Traverse City MI a couple of weeks ago. I replied to the letter. Primary voting should be limited to people who are registered in a particular party. This voting across parties to try to mess things up is unethical and immoral in my opinion. I take voting, and my voting in particular, very seriously and I think that should be true for all of us. The right to vote should not be taken lightly nor should the right of a political party to nominate the person that party's members want nominated.

They ran out of Democratic ballots in 3 precincts in Detroit and 3 other counties.

In Detroit they told the voters: you have 3 choices-vote Republican, go home or wait until more ballots arrive !!!

Bernie is winning the young people with his free college-he did very well in Wastenaw county-home of U of M.
