A 13-year-old girl has died after authorities say she was shot Saturday by her 9-year-old brother, local media reported.
Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantrell said the girl would not give up a video game controller when her brother wanted it.
Cantrell said she was shot in the back of the head, and that the bullet went through her brain.
The girl was rushed to Le Bonheur's Children's Hospital in Memphis. Cantrell said late Sunday that she died of her injuries, WLOV-TV and other media reported.
Authorities don't yet know how the child had access to the weapon they say he used to shoot his sister.
It's also unclear how much knowledge the boy had of the dangers of guns.
Well he knew enough to point and shoot, and that is what makes guns so fucking dangerous.
This cannot be blamed on video games, or violent television shows, this happened because somebody in these children's lives did not understand the concept of gun safety and did not put this weapon in a secure location where the children could not access it.
So once again the gun that was purchased to keep people safe, ended up taking another innocent life.
Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey

It is always been about abortion.
Courtesy of TPM:
Republicans who control a majority of the nation’s statehouses are considering a wide range of abortion legislation that could test the government’s legal ability to restrict a woman’s right to terminate pregnancy.
The Mississippi House passed a bill Friday that would make the state the only one to ban all abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy. In Missouri, lawmakers heard testimony earlier in the week on a bill that would ban abortions after 20 weeks.
The Ohio House is expected to consider bills, already passed in the Senate, that would prohibit the most common type of procedure used to end pregnancies after 13 weeks and require that fetal remains be buried or cremated.
Abortion is a perennial hot button issue in statehouses across the country. Republican-controlled states have passed hundreds of bills since 2011 restricting access to the procedure while Democratic-led states have taken steps in the other direction.
The early weeks of this year’s state legislative sessions have seen a flurry of activity around the issue. It comes as activists on both sides say they expect the U.S. Supreme Court to soon consider a question that remains unclear: How far can states go in restricting abortion in the interest of preserving and promoting fetal life?
If you have been banging your head on the wall trying to figure out how in the hell the Evangelical community could possibly still support a thrice married pussy grabber, who screwed a porn star right after his third wife gave birth to his son, this is your answer.
The holy grail for religious conservatives is to do away with Roe vs Wade.
To that end they will literally excuse ANYBODY'S behavior.
Are you a womanizer? No problem if you are "pro-life."
Are you secretly a spy for the Kremlin? Not our business so long as you think abortion is murder.
Are you a tax evader, a wife beater, or accused of a Federal crime? Hey, only God can judge all of that, so long as you believe that a woman's greatest role in life is as breeding stock for white Christian babies.
Nothing else, and I mean NOTHING else, really matters.

Black Congressmen flatly state they will not attend the opening of a Civil Rights museum in Mississippi due to the attendance of Donald Trump. White House responds in the dumbest way possible.
![]() |
Receiving the 2010 Medal of Freedom from the first black President. |
Two black congressmen say they will not attend the opening of the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum Saturday because President Donald Trump is set to attend.
In a joint statement released Thursday, Democratic Reps. John Lewis and Bennie G. Thompson said that after "conversations with church leaders, elected officials, civil right activists and many citizens of our congressional districts," they have decided not to attend the opening. "President Trump's attendance and his hurtful policies are an insult to the people portrayed in this civil rights museum," the two congressmen said in a statement.
"The struggles represented in this museum exemplify the truth of what really happened in Mississippi. President Trump's disparaging comments about women, the disabled, immigrants and National Football League players disrespect the efforts of Fannie Lou Hamer, Aaron Henry, Medgar Evers, Robert Clark, James Chaney, Andrew Goodman, Michael Schwerner and countless others who have given their all for Mississippi to be a better place."
They added, "After President Trump departs, we encourage all Mississippians and Americans to visit this historic civil rights museum."
While Donald Trump managed to keep his itchy fingers off Twitter, the Sarah Huckabee Sanders responded with this:
“We think it’s unfortunate that these members of Congress wouldn’t join the president in honoring the incredible sacrifice civil rights leaders made to right the injustices in our history,” White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement.
She added that Trump “hopes others will join him in recognizing that the movement was about removing barriers and unifying Americans of all backgrounds.”
Holy shit!
Does this idiot woman not know who John Lewis is?
That man in the foreground being beaten by a cop is John Lewis.
Here he is being carried out by cops while fighting for civil rights.I’ve marched, protested, been beaten and arrested--all for the right to vote. Friends of mine gave their lives. Honor their sacrifice. Vote. pic.twitter.com/1lYp99RaOe— John Lewis (@repjohnlewis) November 3, 2016
John Lewis has been arrested at least 45 times while fighting for civil rights in this country.
John Lewis could drop his pants and urinate on this civil rights museum and he would still remain a civil rights hero.
The only thing he could do which might stain his reputation would to be show up to this museum on the same night that Donald Trump was in attendance.
And Sarah Huckabee Sanders needs to take those wonky eyeballs of hers and direct them toward some history books before she opens her big fat mouth again.

Mississippi school named after president of the Confederacy to be renamed Barack Obama Magnet IB Elementary School. Oh the white supremacists should just LOVE that!
Courtesy of Mississippi Today:
An elementary school in Jackson named for the president of the Confederacy will be renamed after the nation’s first black president next year.
Davis IB Elementary School PTA president Janelle Jefferson told the Jackson Public Schools Board of Trustees at a meeting Tuesday night that the community voted to change the school’s name to Barack Obama Magnet IB Elementary School.
In September, the board approved a policy that gave the PTA and community the option to rename Jefferson Davis, George and Lee elementary schools. Davis is named after Jefferson Davis, president of the Confederacy.
The current board policy on naming schools states they must be named “for persons of good character and prominence who have made outstanding contributions to the school system,” and a “facility named to honor a person shall not be renamed except for compelling reasons.”
The school is apparently about 96% black so of course attending a school named after the man who fought to keep their ancestors as slaves probably did not exactly make them feel welcome.
Of course Mississippi is still a very racist state, so I predict there will be some substantial protests when the new sign with Obama's name is first erected.

Historic church in Mississippi burned and tagged with pro-Trump message. Welcome to Donald Trump's America.
Courtesy of WDAM:
Authorities are now investigating the burning and vandalism of a historic church in Greenville as a hate crime.
Tuesday night, at 9:15 p.m. authorities responded to the scene of the 111-year-old Hopewell M.B. Church. The church was not only burned, but also vandalized with the words "Vote Trump" spray painted on the side of the building.
Officials said during a press conference held on Wednesday that the incident is now being investigated as a hate crime and Greenville Police Chief Freddie Cannon called the incident "a form of voting intimidation".
We're told that there is heavy fire, water and smoke damage in the sanctuary of the church. The pastor's study and the kitchen also were damaged.
What's more this was found in the yard of the suspect named in the case of the murder of those two police officers in Iowa.
I would bet that we are going to see a lot more of this kind of aggression directed at minorities, government employees, black churches, mosques, and Democratic headquarters all the way up to November, and afterwards.
And that will be true whether Donald Trump gets elected or not.
He has opened the door into a type of ugliness that will be in no hurry to run back and hide in the shadows anytime soon.

After fighting it for five decades Mississippi school district finally forced to end segregation. Wait, what?
Courtesy of the New York Daily News:
A Mississippi school district has been ordered to desegregate its schools after what the Justice Department called a five-decade-long legal battle.
The Cleveland School District, about two hours northwest of Jackson, was told that it must consolidate its schools in order to provide real desegregation for students in the city of about 12,000.
Residents first filed suit against the Bolivar County of Education in July 1965, according to an opinion handed down on Friday.
Holy crap! They fought allowing black students into their schools for fifty years?
Gee I wonder how long it will be before they let them use their drinking fountains?

North Carolina just lost 400 jobs due to new anti-LGBT laws. And that is only the beginning.
![]() |
North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory |
PayPal announced Tuesday morning that it has abandoned its plans for a massive global operations center, which would have brought 400 new jobs to Charlotte, North Carolina. The company was unequivocal that the decision was made because of the state’s passage of HB2, a sweeping law that blocks cities from enacting LGBT nondiscrimination protections and mandates that transgender people use the wrong bathrooms for their gender identities.
CEO Dan Schulman explained in a statement that “the new law perpetuates discrimination and it violates the values and principles that are at the core of PayPal’s mission and culture.”
Schulman asserted that the decision to not proceed with the Charlotte center “is a clear and unambigous one” that reflects the company’s “deepest values and our strong belief that every person has the right to be treated equally, and with dignity and respect.” Because PayPal’s employees would not have equal rights under North Carolina law, employing them there is “simply untenable.”
Pay Pal is not alone in rethinking plans to do business in the hostile environment of North Carolina.
Courtesy of USA News:
New Jersey-based Braeburn Pharmaceuticals said it is "reevaluating our options based on the recent, unjust legislation" whether to build a $20 million manufacturing and research facility in Durham County. The 50 new jobs paying an average of nearly $76,000 a year were announced two weeks ago.
Lionsgate, the California-based entertainment company, had been lining up hotel and equipment rentals and hiring more than 100 workers in North Carolina, but decided to shoot its pilot episode for a comedy series in Canada instead, said Jennifer Irvine, a Charlotte production coordinator.
Charlotte convention officials and the organizers of one of the world's largest furniture markets say some customers have pulled out, also citing the new law.
One would think that this kind of potential economic impact would have other states thinking twice about passing their own laws discriminating against the LGBT community.
But thinking twice, or even once for that matter, has no place when your religion urges you to hate.
Courtesy of the LA Times:
Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant signed a controversial bill into law on Tuesday that could allow businesses and government workers to deny services to lesbian and gay couples.
Bryant said in a statement that he was signing HB 1523 “to protect sincerely held religious beliefs and moral convictions of individuals, organizations and private associations from discriminatory action by state government or its political subdivisions.”
Somehow I think that this will inspire a whole lot of anti-discrimination cases which will eventually find their way to the Supreme Court.
Which means that we really need to get Antonin Scalia's replacement seated just as soon as possible.

A message from Shailey Tripp.
I have not heard from Shailey for quite some time now. However yesterday she sent me this e-mail and asked me to share it and so I will:
"It has been 1 year and 8 months since I was brutally taken from my home and left to die in Mississippi.
Since then, the Mississippi police refuse to aid in the investigation of what happened to me and furthermore refuse to give me access to my own rape kit results. It is also my understanding that all the photographs taken of me in the hospital never made it to the Mississippi's DA's office. Furthermore, the Hammond police took many of my personal items that have sentimental value to me, and digital/computer devices totaling to over$ 8000.00 if I had to replace them today. What is more frustrating is people had donated alot of that stuff to help me gain independence and around the time this happened to me I was finally making money as a radio DJ and as a Freelance Writer.
Since this all happened I was weak mentally, emotionally, and my body needed quite a bit of time to heal. Moreover my children had to go live elsewhere and I was homeless and lost everything I owned directly due to my abduction. It has been only recently that my mind has become stronger, and I have aquired housing that I have not yet settled into yet.
I am being sued by creditors who I was not able to pay since I was abducted and lost my means to make a living, my car, the material things in my apartment, all my clothes, make up, my children's belongings. EVERYTHING! I can not tell you after everything I had been through previously how hard it has been to rebuild my life once again. I cry alot.
I have learned a few things along the way that I want to share with you the public One I am invisible to the police, they will not listen to me, they will not take statements from me, they will not protect me from the people who mean to do me harm. They do not even take me seriously. I know that the Hammond police department posted my whereabouts which caused media to call the hospital where I was at. the doctors and nurses did not let me know this. the hospital staff was caring and thorough. But when I did get to talk to the police in Mississippi the were unkind, accusing, and told me I was full of shit and that this was a publicity stunt and I needed to leave Mississippi and never come back. They said this in front of hospital staff. I know for the first 8 months after I left the hospital the Hammond police tried very hard to investigate and could not get Biloxi police to cooperate.
It is my belief and opinion that it was the Palins who tried to cause me harm. I know for a fact that Todd and Sarah Palin were in town specifically in Biloxi and Gulfport, MS the day I was found and taken to the hospital. I know for a fact they came again the following week to Biloxi again, and then Pascagoula ad then other areas of the south. And since then have harrassed me where ever I have went, even though I was off radar. They, as in Sarah Palin Todd Palin and some of their kids have made up false Facebook and twitter profiles and have let me know who they are and made veiled threats. When I left Biloxi and went to West Memphis, AR they showed up there. Everytime I went to New Orleans or Monroe, LA they, or at least Sarah Palin, would show up there. Whats more is they are sending family members, cousins and recently my dad nasty messages through social media and making veiled threats of harming my brother and his son. The most recent threat received today.
I can't live like this, in fear, in hiding constantly and my family and friends getting threats all the time. This is why I am choosing to make this public. I have hired a lawyer to help me get a restraining order on these people.
To Sarah and Todd Palin, I hope you read this. Please leave my family and I alone directly or indirectly. Please stop threatening me, all your solicitations are unwelcome. As of today any contact from you direct and indirectly I will see as a direct threat against my life or family members lives. It is only appropriate to let our lawyers speak to one another. You have been forewarned leave me alone. O r suffer both my personal wrath and all legal consequences available to me. I am not afraid of you anymore.
Lastly, as for me, I am not only a survivor, but I will triumph and succeed over this. Eventually. I still have money problems, family problems, and career problems. I do have people in my life who believe in me and are giving me the right opportunities and helping me create more of the right opportunities. I have my bad days but they are fewer, and my good days are moving me forward.
Sincerely,
Shailey Tripp"
I have really nothing more to add here, this is exactly as I received this message with no editing, feel free to discuss your feelings in the comment section.

Let's see on the Democrat side we have Michigan with 130 delegates and Mississippi with 36.
According to Fivethirtyeight Hillary has a 99% chance of wining Michigan and since Mississippi has a large African American community she will undoubtedly win there as well.
As for Donald Trump and the rest of the Republican clown car, they have Michigan (59 delegates) which 538 predicts will go for Trump, Mississippi (40 delegates) where Trump also leads, Hawaii (19 delegates) where I have no idea which way the balmy wind is blowing, and Idaho (32 delegates) where Trump is currently in the lead.
So essentially is appears that there will be no surprises tonight.
But then again that's what everybody says until they get surprised.
Update: MSNBC is calling Mississippi for Hillary, and categorizing it as a HUGE win.
Update 2: Trump is now the projected winner in Mississippi. No surprises so far.
Update 3: Trump projected to win Michigan on the Republican side, and it is still too close to call for the Democrats.
Update 4: Okay so finally they called Michigan for Sanders, but only by the slimmest of margins. It looks like all of the pollsters were wrong about this one.
Update 5: Cruz wins Idaho.

A father and son are killed in a shootout with another father and son in a gun store in Mississippi. Everybody feel safe yet?
Courtesy of the Sun Herald:
A father and son were killed in a shootout with another man and his son at a gun store Saturday in Pearl River County's Henleyfield community.
Pearl River County deputies responding to the shooting on Mississippi 43 about 3:15 p.m. found the store owner and his son dead in the store, Chief Deputy Shane Tucker said.
The owner's wife was working at the store when two customers, a man and his son, entered to pick up a firearm that had been repaired.
"There was some contention about a $25 fee," Tucker said.
In an attempt to clear up the dispute, the woman called her husband, who later arrived with his son. An argument ensued between the owners and the customers.
"During this argument, we believe there might have been some pushing and shoving," Tucker said. "One of the customers and one of the owners produced firearms. We don't know who shot first."
All four men were shot. The two customers were airlifted to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, Tucker said.
Boy there's nothing like the presence of firearms to turn a simply argument over money into an opportunity for homicide.
Just another day in the NRA's America.

Waitress asks Biloxi man to put out cigarette, man responds by shooting her in the head. Just another day in the NRA's America.
Courtesy of WLOX:
A woman is dead and a man is behind bars charged with murder after an argument over smoking turned deadly at a Waffle House in Biloxi. It happened around 1am Friday morning at the restaurant on Hwy 90, near the Coast Coliseum.
According to Biloxi police, the fight started when Johnny Mount, 45, refused to put out a cigarette he was smoking inside the restaurant. Mount then pulled out a handgun he had concealed under his shirt and shot the female employee once in the head.
Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove said the 52-year-old woman was taken to Merit Health Biloxi where she later died from her injuries.
Mount was arrested as he was leaving the restaurant, and charged with 1st degree murder. He's now being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center on a $2 million bond.
I guess the only way to stop a bad waitress with an opinion on smoking, is by an even worse guy with a gun and no respect for human life.
We now live in a country where even asking somebody not to smoke is a risk to life and limb.

Mississippi man blows up Wal-Mart because they stopped selling Confederate battle flags. You're not helping.
Courtesy of the Clarion Ledger:
A man is charged after allegedly setting off an explosive at a Mississippi Walmart Sunday morning.
Marshall W. Leonard, 61, of Tupelo, will be charged with placing an explosive device. Under Mississippi Code 97-37-25 he could get life in prison if convicted, the Tupelo Daily Journal reported.
Tupelo Police Chief Bart Aguirre said a vehicle pulled up to an entrance of the Walmart in North Gloster around 1:30 a.m.
“A white male got out, lit the package and threw it in the vestibule,” said Aguirre. “There was an employee on break, and the suspect told him, ‘You better run.
The employee did run and the device went off harming no one and doing only minimal damage to the store.
The reason for the attack? I thought you would never ask:
A supporter of the Mississippi flag, Leonard railed against anyone who wanted it removed because it contained the Confederate battle flag. He spoke out against Walmart when the retail giant stop selling items that contained the Confederate battle flag.
Last Wednesday, Leonard posted threats on the Daily Journal Facebook page.
“Journal corporate, you are on final warning,” he wrote Oct. 28. “You are part of the problem. As a result of this, y’all are going down, along with Walmart, WTVA, Reeds department store, and all the rest of the anti-American crooks. I’m not kidding. No messing around anymore!”
Nothing says supporters of the Confederate battle flag are non-racist rational people who are only concerned with preserving their Southern heritage like blowing up the local Wal-Mart with a homemade bomb, don'tcha think?
My favorite part is that his tiny little bomb was essentially just as impotent as his ravings on Facebook.
"Y'all are going down."

Suspect in Mississippi university shooting takes his own life. Motive for shooting may have been jealousy.
![]() |
Mississippi shooter Shannon Lamb. |
An instructor at Mississippi's Delta State University suspected of killing the woman he lived with and a colleague -- possibly as the result of a love triangle -- died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound late Monday, authorities said.
Local media, citing the Washington County Sheriff's office and other agencies, reported that Shannon Lamb, 45, was being chased by police in his black Dodge Avenger on Highway 1 near Greenville when he pulled the car over, bailed out on foot, and ran into some woods along the side of the road. Lamb had earlier spoken to police, telling them "he's not going to jail."
Delta State University police chief Lynn Buford told the Associated Press that the pursuing officers heard a single gunshot before finding Lamb wounded. The suspect was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
....
Police believe that hours before Lamb shot and killed Schmidt, he murdered his domestic partner, 41-year-old Amy Prentiss, at the home the couple shared in Gautier, Miss., approximately 300 miles from Delta State's campus in Cleveland.
Lamb, a geography and social science education instructor, allegedly believed Prentiss was also in a relationship with Schmidt. However, authorities early Tuesday declined to formally identify a motive for the crimes.
I said in an earlier post that the majority of the shootings that take place in this country have NOTHING to do with self defense and are usually the result of depression or anger.
However I obviously left out one motivation...jealousy.
These shootings were not due to mental illness as so many pro-gun folks would have us believe.
They were carried out by an intelligent, well educated individual who was temporarily unable to deal with his emotions.
Without an available weapon this would likely have been a case of one man punching another in the face. Everybody would have lived to someday put the incident behind them.
But when guns are readily available all it takes is one bad day, one bad hour, one bad minute, and everything changes forever.

If the whole country is moving to put racism behind them, you just know that Florida is going to go the opposite direction.
An estimated 2,000 vehicles, mostly motorcycles and trucks adorned with Rebel flags, took part in a rally and ride Sunday afternoon in support of keeping a Confederate flag flying in front of the McPherson Governmental Complex in Ocala.
The event was organized by David Stone, of Ocala, and was called the Florida Southern Pride Ride. Police officials estimated participation at a couple thousand vehicles.
The ride started at about 1 p.m. and, as of 1:30 p.m., could be seen winding its way through Ocala.
Participants were wearing shirts that said "heritage not hate" and talked of defending a way of life rooted in Southern traditions.
Danny Hart, of Dunnellon, had two Confederate flags and the American flag in the back of his truck. He pointed out that the U.S. flag was flying higher and said that he had come to participate in the ride to "defend freedom."
Another ride participant, Rick Hart, said, "It's a history thing. The flag is also a military flag. It's not a race symbol."
Yeah except that it is a race symbol. Just like the Nazi flag is a symbol of antisemitism.
Which is why groups like the KKK fly them both.
So here we have both Alabama and South Carolina taking the Confederate battle flag off of the state Capitol grounds, and Mississippi poised to vote to change their flag entirely, yet in Florida there is a rally 2,000 strong of supporters who are just like, "Fuck it, we're racist and not afraid to let EVERYBODY know it!"

BP reaches settlement for 18.7 billion over Deepwater Horizon spill.
BP and five Gulf states announced a massive settlement Thursday that resolves years of legal fighting over the environmental and economic damage done by the energy giant's oil spill in 2010.
Roughly $18.7 billion in settlement money will be used to resolve the Clean Water Act penalties; resolve natural resources damage claims; settle economic claims; and resolve economic damage claims of local governments, according to an outline filed in federal court. The settlement involves Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas.
"If approved by the court, this settlement would be the largest settlement with a single entity in American history; it would help repair the damage done to the Gulf economy, fisheries, wetlands and wildlife; and it would bring lasting benefits to the Gulf region for generations to come," U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch said in a statement.
Yes 18.7 billion is a huge amount, but considering the damage the spill caused, the incredible impact on marine life, and the loss of revenue to the states affected, I still think they got off pretty lucky.
Yeah, very lucky indeed.
Still these five states did a hell of lot better than Alaska did after the Exxon Valdez spill.

Mississippi Republican lawmaker proposes removing confederate battle emblem from state flag and Wal-Mart removes Confederate flags from store shelves.
Courtesy of HuffPo:
A top Mississippi lawmaker says the Confederate battle emblem is offensive and needs to be removed from the state flag.
Republican House Speaker Philip Gunn said Monday that remembering our past is important, "but that does not mean we must let it define us."
And remember this is a top REPUBLICAN calling for this change.
And now there is news that Wal-Mart is jumping on the bandwagon:
Wal-Mart said Monday it is removing any items from its store shelves and website that feature the Confederate flag. In a statement, Bentonville, Arkansas-based Wal-Mart Stores Inc. said its goal is to not offend anyone with the products it offers. "We have taken steps to remove all items promoting the Confederate flag from our assortment — whether in our stores or on our website," the company said. "We have a process in place to help lead us to the right decisions when it comes to the merchandise we sell. Still, at times, items make their way into our assortment improperly — this is one of those instances."
You know it is not often that I want to be wrong about things, but I have to admit that when I first started to cover this Confederate flag story I was skeptical that these stubborn southern folks would be willing to change.
But with Nikki Haley calling for the removal of the Confederate flag from statehouse grounds, and the two changes listed above, it looks like there is a real push by many to move past their historic racist past.
Well if I have to be wrong about something, this is exactly the kind of something that I want to be wrong about.

It finally took the Mississippi Supreme Court to tell Chris McDaniels that he lost the Republican primary election back in June.
![]() |
"Hey, I don't know the meaning of the word 'lose.' No really, I don't." |
Chris McDaniel's months-long quest to overturn the results of the Mississippi Republican Senate primary appeared to reach its end when the state supreme court rejected his legal challenge Friday.
McDaniel lost to Sen. Thad Cochran (R-MS) in the June primary, but he has been using the legal system ever since to undermine the election. Allegations of voter fraud and illegal crossover voters have abounded, and the case eventually made its way to the Mississippi Supreme Court.
But the court dismissed McDaniel's challenge on Friday, citing timing and political considerations, according to election law expert Rick Hasen's analysis.
"Sometimes these rulings are a mercy killing. McDaniel’s evidence of fraud seemed weak, and his legal theories about crossover voting even weaker," Hasen wrote. "This timing ruling was a way for the courts to end the process without going through a long drawn out trial. Not that the courts would ever admit they were doing that, but I guess this was in the back of at least some Justices’ minds."
Okay I have seen some sore losers in my time, but this asshole takes the cake.
I hate to say it but I really think that this is the plan for other GOP candidates in the general election as well.
I think that is why Joni Ernst of Iowa is already gathering information about recounts even though the election is still ten days away.
If I am right about this many of our elections may not be decided for weeks, or even months, after November 4th, and some of us could be in for a very long, expensive, and frustrating battle that undermines our democracy and leaves voters stuck in a kind of political purgatory.
Oh joy.

Wonkette listens to Sarah Palin Channel videos so that you don't have to. The poor bastards!
![]() |
Palin from the Vales Voters Summit pretending she can read. |
But fortunately (Or unfortunately if you prefer) Dan Weber of Wonkette continues to update his Sarah Palin Fartknocker Report.
In today's report we learn that Palin does not really understand Catholicism or bears, is still pissed her candidate in Mississippi lost, and is fed up with political types grifting money from innocent people in order to provide bad advice.
Hang on, the mind numbing hypocrisy of that last statement made me a little light headed.
Okay I've recovered somewhat.
First up Palin responds to a question from one of her six subscribers about how often she gets to fondle Todd's equipment:
We have a subscriber asking, ‘Sarah, has Todd ever let you take control of the floatplane? If so, how long were you allowed to pilot it?’ Do I get to take control of his [Cessna] 185, or his Piper Super Cub? Is a bear Catholic, does the Pope live in the woods? No, not often.
Wonkette points out that this is not a live feed and therefore Palin had plenty of time to go back and change this response, but nope she wants to be unfiltered so unfiltered she remains.
Next the Wasilla Wendigo pisses and moans about her man Chris McDaniel losing in Mississippi and whose fault that was. (Here's a hint she does not think it's hers.)
These people who want the R by their name, they think that that’s how they’re gonna get elected, we need to have great discernment, find out who they are, and find alternatives to these RINOs. [...] We’re all incredibly disappointed by the, gosh, those tactics that the GOP machine, the Establishment, the Man, that they used in Mississippi against Chris McDaniel, an excellent, excellent patriot. [...]
Yeah those tactics they used against McDaniel were just awful.
I mean how dare Senator Thad Cochran encourage more people, even those who are not traditionally considered Republican or conservative, to vote for him. What, does he think that the Republican party wants to expand their numbers or something?
And speaking of the kinds of people who give politicians advice to do things like reach out to independent voters,or pander to women, or Mexicans, or other brown skin people, Palin has no use for them. Oh no she doesn't!
Sometimes you have good candidates but they have GOP establishment, smooth-talkin’, knucklehead consultants as their advisors. We need to discourage good candidates from thinking that these, DC especially, advisors who are out of touch with, just, normal, everyday Americans, that these advisors know best. Especially advisors with really, really poor records.
They’re dumb, consultants, sometimes they’re dumb, and they almost always give horrible advice, I find. They try to shape and mold the candidate. Instead of letting a good candidate just be that good candidate, that got ‘em to where they are, well now, these advisors come in, y’know they come ridin’ in, what they want to have perceived as the white horse, and they’re gonna save this campaign, and in the meantime they screw up a lot of things.
So these consultants, I’m not impressed. and yet they keep gettin hired! They’re making hand over fist, they’re making big bucks off innocent contributors to candidates, to campaigns, not knowin’ that a lot of their money is going to these professional politicians, because they’re professional political consultants…well, that’s part of the problem. [...] Again, we live and learn, and we come back stronger.
Oh I definitely have to agree here that the idiots who take money from innocent people while endorsing or giving advice to conservative candidates are just the lowest of the low.
I mean WHAT kind of POS would do that for a living? Especially when their advice is SO bad and does nothing to help the candidate, and in fact might ultimately doom their campaign?
You know I don't want to tell Sarah Palin how to live her life or anything (Yes I do!), but just perhaps she might consider playing some of these video back before posting them on her site.
And maybe, just maybe, having somebody who is not paid to kiss her skinny wrinkled ass listen to them as well might not be the worst idea either. Just a thought.

The idea that red state tax dollars pay for blue state social programs, is in no way supported by the actual data.
One of the most hilarious talking points coming from far-right Republicans and the Tea Party is that when “red states” like Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana are asked to bail out California or Massachusetts, that’s when they will finally become “fed up with socialism” and secede from the Union once and for all.
The problem with that meme is that it has no basis in reality: the more prosperous and Democrat-leaning areas of the United States are likely to be subsidizing dysfunctional “red states,” many of which are suffering from insufficient tax revenue and an abundance of low-wage workers who don’t have much to tax. Tea Party Republicans like to point out that poor cities like Detroit, Baltimore and Camden, New Jersey are run by Democrats, but they neglect to mention that some of the most affluent parts of the United States—from Manhattan to the Silicon Valley and the San Francisco Bay Area to Cambridge, MA to Seattle to Chicago’s North Shore suburbs—are dominated by the Democratic Party. People in those heavily Democratic areas pay a lot of federal income taxes, and quite often, their tax dollars go to red states.
Raw Story then lists the ten worst offenders, including Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, Indiana, Montana, South Carolina, West Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, and of course Alaska.
Concerning Alaska they have this to say:
Alaska didn’t become part of the U.S. until 1959, and since then, it has gone Republican in every presidential race except 1964 (when Alaska favored Democrat Lyndon B. Johnson over Republican Barry Goldwater). A bastion of hard-right politics, Alaska is the state where Sarah Palin was elected governor in 2006. But when it comes to “small government,” Alaska Republicans don’t practice what they preach: according to WalletHub, Alaska receives $1.42 from the federal government for every dollar it contributes. Tax Foundation’s research showed Alaska receiving $1.93 from Uncle Sam for every dollar paid in. Alaska Republicans love to rail against the federal government, but the reality is that Alaska needs federal tax revenue badly in order to function.
Alaska is infamous for its harsh winters, which put considerable wear and tear on the state’s infrastructure—and the money for that much upkeep and maintenance has to come from somewhere. That somewhere is Boston, Santa Monica, Brooklyn, Seattle and all the other places that are full of upscale Democrats Palin considers “un-American.”
Still burns my ass that my state is now synonymous with Sarah Palin, and Tea Party politics. However they are not wrong that we are indeed parasites feeding off the largess of America's tax payers.
And in years past we were well aware of that fact, and grateful for the support.
Ted Stevens did not typically rail against big government, but instead made sure that when money was doled out that Alaska was at the top of the list. In fact for a time he was the Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee and made sure that Alaska got more than its fair share of federal moneys.
He was famous for working the system, not working against it. And in those days Senator Frank Murkowski, and Rep. Don Young were working right along with him toward that same goal.
However it must be remembered that this state is only one year older than I am. So it is, by comparison, only in its infancy. (Much like I am.) Hopefully when we reach our teen years we will become more capable, and finally get off our lethargic asses and start contributing a our fair share to this country.
However until then, much like Tennessee, Mississippi, and Montana we need to shut the fuck up about reducing the size of government and start demonstrating more respect for our federal sugar daddies.

Mississippi Tea party challenger refuses to accept that he lost election, decides to file suit to force Republican party officials to say he won by 25,000 votes.
![]() |
The moment Mississippi voters should have seen this coming. |
Mississippi State Sen. Chris McDaniel officially announced the beginning of a legal effort to challenge the results of his primary fight against six-term incumbent Sen. Thad Cochran.
The campaign formally filed a challenge with the Mississippi Republican Party’s executive committee, the official first step to mounting a legal challenge.
Even though McDaniel was beaten by 7.600 votes, and those votes were unanimously certified by the Republican party's executive committee, he has refused to concede.
And now after his volunteers have spent that last month or so combing through voter rolls they think they have found enough questionable votes to give the election to their candidate. How surprising.
The McDaniel camp is not asking for another runoff, they simply want the election given to them, and allow McDaniel to win by 25,000 phantom votes.
Holy crap did Mississippi dodge a bullet with this guy!
