Temperatures were so high in the month of February this year that scientists were using adjectives such as "astronomical" and "staggering" to describe them.

Courtesy of Yahoo News:

Earth got so hot last month that federal scientists struggled to find words, describing temperatures as "astronomical," ''staggering" and "strange." They warned that the climate may have moved into a new and hotter neighborhood.

This was not just another of the drumbeat of 10 straight broken monthly global heat records, triggered by a super El Nino and man-made global warming. February 2016 obliterated old marks by such a margin that it was the most above-normal month since meteorologists started keeping track in 1880, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

The old record was set just last December and the last three months have been the most above-normal months on record, said NOAA climate scientist Jessica Blunden. And it's not just NOAA. NASA, which uses different statistical techniques, as well as a University of Alabama Huntsville team and the private Remote Sensing System team, which measure using satellites, also said February 2016 had the biggest departure from normal on record.

But remember kids, man made global warming is only a myth.

I think it has become crystal clear that we are no longer in any position to stop global warming, or really to significantly slow it down, now it would seem to me that our only recourse is to adequately prepare to protect our species from what comes next.

Also if I had my choice I would put politicians like Senator Roy Blunt, Jim Inhofe, and Alaska's own Congressman Don Young, just to name a few, out in the middle of the Mojave Desert so that they could enjoy the temperature changes that their denial of peer reviewed science helped to usher in.

Remember a few years back when Craig Compeaus in Fairbanks went out of his way to mock Al Gore about the global warning issue. It was obnoxious. I would think, geez, this guy is missing an opportunity to sell boats when all of our ice melts. Now you see all the erratic snowing and flooding down the states and I keep saying out loud "buy boats" or "buy snowmachines" but no one listens. Ah, well. Guess the movie everyone mocked back in the day, you know the Kevin Costner was prophetic after all. Time to stock up on the spam.

The Palins are busy pumping up kids like Tripp to be speed demons on their snowmachines. They don't have time for nonsense like when snowmachines have no snow.

Any minute we will see what happened to Todd Palin's snowmobile? He was in an area with snow and where racing is fun! Don't they want to shoe that Alaska still has snow in some parts?

Snowmobile injuries and fatalities in children.
Reckless snowmobiling leads to significant morbidity and mortality among children. Prior reports based on CPSC data likely underestimated the number of snowmobile-related fatalities. Our findings support previous American Academy of Pediatrics recommendations, including the restriction of snowmobile driving by children under 16, graduated licensing for older children, and universal helmet usage.

This may be why Sarah will only say 'mystery snowmachiner', what if it was Tripp Easton Mitchell?

Tripp would have a cell phone and could have called for help to hitch Todd onto a trailer and dump him in a parking lot. If Tripp had help, it would be some of the drunks from the cabin. Or Tripp is such a super kid, like Bristol says, and he saved Todd all by himself.

The Palins may not want to state the truth but they would want to brag about Tripp if they could. Bristol may have had to settle on something like this.

(an oddly timed post for a snowboarding kid)

Bristol did not have a human reaction to her father being is a serious wreck. It is more as if Bristol is working with a script. Not a good one, but what they could come up with in short notice.

Kids can do amazing things, according to his mother, Tripp is more amazing than most. He could be like Bode Beirdneau but the Palins don't want to say anything in public.

Bode Beirdneau, saved his father's life after a snowmobile accident. A 9-year-old California boy hiked alone through the snow to save his dad, who was trapped under a snowmobile near South Lake Tahoe last Sunday, reports KGO-TV. Bode Beirdneau and his father, John Taylor, were in an area of the Northern California backcountry where there was no cell signal, and they did not have a GPS.

One thing the Palins are clear about Todd's 'little wreck', there will be nothing like a teachable moment since the Palins show no regard for safety.

All the Palins fail their community, the nation and all the sports enthusiasts in the snow communities.

When shit happens it needs to be documented and the experts need to be the ones with details and information. How can safety measures improve if responsible adults are behaving irresponsible?

What happened to Todd, if known, could be a cautionary tale to other snowmobile racers. Especially the novice and children.

What could have prevented such a serious accident?

Why do the Palins have zero regard for the public, children and prevention of these critical wrecks? People die and can end up altered for life.

The Shocking Truth Behind Snowmobiling Hazards.
Snowmobiles, though fun recreational vehicles, do pose a significant threat to children as well as teens and young adults ages 15 to 24. When snowmobile accidents occur, the leading cause of death is head injuries incurred when the snowmobile has collided, overturned or fallen.
It doesn’t appear that the number of child deaths due to snowmobiling incidents has decreased over the years. If anything, the numbers remain high.

Many children that were injured or died as a result of snowmobiling hazards were often towed by a snowmobile. (Sailor Grace Palin?) Need to know when kids are in danger.

I remember hearing Sarah Palin make one of her signature smart ass remarks about how cold it was in Alaska one winter and wondering where "Al Gore's global warming" was. She as stupid as a box of rocks, we all know that, however so many of her ilk say these kinds of stupid things. They don't get it's NOT global 'warming' - its global climate change. Where I live, in the South, the winters are getting colder, icier, snowy. And the summers are worse than ever: unbearable heat, humidity. Definitely changing.

A local meteorologist said this very thing last night concerning El Nino on top of a planet that has warmed a full two degrees, breaking it down into layman's terms easy enough for a child to understand. I immediately thought of $arah and said, "Bingo, bitch, there's that SCIENCE again!"

How someone can be so incredibly stupid and proud of it is beyond my comprehension.

Without doubt some of them are, like Sarah, simply stupid. The others know perfectly well that the climate change we're going through is indeed man-made, but the corporations that fund them won't let them admit it. Anyone who drives by a steel mill, or smells the stink of an oil refinery, or looks at video of the smog enveloping cities like Beijing and Harbon in China so thick it blocks the sun cannot possibly deny it. Never before in the history of the world has climate change been CAUSED by man, because never before has the earth dealt with the effects of an industrial revolution.

Yes, and I tried to explain this to my Dad (RIP) but he was a conservative Christian, not a nut job, and he always felt that, hey, God gave us this planet and it's resources, might as well use it up, the after life is coming anyway! Say WHAT? It doesn't work like that!

Warmer Winters Will Mean Catastrophic Effects For The Environment And Human Life

...Along with shorter and warmer winters, many areas also are experiencing earlier-than-normal springs, or “false’’ springs, and sporadic hot summer-like days, a climate pattern that can produce chaos with the Earth’s ecosystems.

“In the more than 30 years I’ve been a meteorologist, I’ve always enjoyed sitting down each day and taking a look at the latest computer model forecasts of the weather for the upcoming ten days,’’ said Jeff Masters, director of meteorology for the site Weather Underground. “That pleasure began becoming tinged with anxiety beginning in 2010, when we seemingly crossed a threshold into a new more extreme climate regime. The relatively stable climate of the 20th Century that I grew up with is no more.’’

...A warming climate will likely lead to more early springs and “false’’ springs, the latter prompted by unusual temperature spikes followed by cold snaps. “In some regions, living things get fooled into think spring has arrived, trees sprout, eggs hatch, etc., only to suffer another winter-like cold outbreak, potentially damaging or killing the ‘fooled’ organisms,’’ Mann said.

In one study, for example, a false spring in 2012 caused $500 million in damages to fruit and vegetables in Michigan. And in the Washington, D.C. region, where cherry blossoms are an annual tourist draw, a predicted drop to freezing temperatures and snow this weekend — soon after an exceptionally early burst of warm temperatures — threatens the vulnerable blossoms as they enter a delicate growth stage.

I am curious about the conditions when Todd Palin crashed. He is the star of Iron Dog and it is all about money. The star can't be driving under the influence or ignoring the road conditions or safety factors. Iron Dog and their stars must look like they are paying attention to the snow conditions. They can't look sloppy or reckless when it comes to riding their machines.

We'll never find out, 9:47 AM. I wouldn't say he was the "star" of the Iron Dog, he only thought he was. Hasn't won it since 1995.

The Palins, media, ID will all cover up for what happened to Todd.

Isn't there a local blog 9familiar with the area where the cabin is located) that would cover the general conditions of that night.

It is like almost everyone in Alaska is going to say zip about the terrain and weather. Also things like how most accidents are handled in that area. The injured all go to MAT Su? Or a person with the injuries that Sarah described would be airlifted to Anchorage?

I wish someone would put Sarah, along with those politicians, on an ice flow and see how long it takes to melt. Bet they would change their minds about global warming real fast and it makes me ill to think about those poor animals starving to death because the oil companies don’t have enough profits or people in the suburbs don’t have big enough SUV’s.

Although we have a saying here in Michigan, if you don’t like the weather, wait 5 minutes, but it as any gardener can tell you, things have really changed.
