Joe Scarborough: "Ted Cruz will never be the nominee of the Republican Party."

(Statement comes at around the 8:15 mark on the video.)

Courtesy of Raw Story:

Joe Scarborough mocked Ted Cruz’s claim that he defied the media by winning Wisconsin — which most media observers predicted he would do — and insisted the Texas senator would never win the Republican presidential nomination.

“Listen, let’s just be clear here,” Scarborough said. “Ted Cruz will never be the nominee of the Republican Party.”

Scarborough insisted that Cruz was not the second-most likely nominee behind Trump, and said the GOP was far more likely to select a nominee who’s not even running at this point.

“No, not even close,” he said. “Paul Ryan — you name the list. The guy is loathed, and he is loathed inside (Washington,) D.C., in a way that Donald Trump is not loathed. I know a lot of the establishment hates Donald Trump, but Ted Cruz is the devil that they know, and they don’t like him. He’s not going to win the nomination.”

Scarborough said the GOP establishment was simply using Cruz as a “vehicle to stop Donald Trump.”

“It’s going to be Trump or somebody else,” he said. “I don’t know — maybe Ted Cruz is the most wonderful human being in the world when he’s in the backyard throwing baseballs with, you know, his next-door neighbors and barbecuing, I’m sure he is. He is not, though, on TV, a likable persona, and he is loathed in Washington. He is not going to do it. It’s going to be Trump or somebody else.”

You know even three or four weeks ago I would have agreed with Scarborough on this.

But now I just don't know.

What I do know is that I need more popcorn.

The Peeponders have got it all figured out - once the nasty hobbitses deny Drumpf the nomination on the first vote at the convention, the 'Lady' from the North will ride in on her white moose and save the day, thus leading to a peaceful and unanimous choice of St. Sarah as the Republican nominee. This will then immediately lead to the scales falling from our collective eyes, and we the people will cry out as one for our beloved Princess Moosebeam to be immediately coronated Queen Esther for life, and installed in the White House.

Excuse me, I need to go shower and bleach my brain.

Funny, I read something like that at C4Pee this am. Those nuts really believe that queen moose will be picked as the nominee at the convention. Fucking delusional.

Perhaps this blog would not be necessary if Palin was not a hypocritical, duplicitous and stupid grifter who steals from the less fortunate to fund her lifestyle and most importantly tried to sell herself to the presidency using racism particularly against African Americans, sexuality, and chronic victimhood. Thank goodness that this blog keeps our girl in check.

@5:08 DAMN WELL SAID. There are still about 14 humans left at C4pee that think $tupid $arah is the only anointed Queen Esther who can ever save rill Murica.

According to them $arah is a genius, the smartest person in any room, the wonder of the world, and the most qualified to be President of any human in the last 100 years.

Fortunately 99% of the rest of the USA knows her to be the lying, racist, nasty, stupid, ignorant, sociopathic Criminal of Wasilla, and a bad parent to boot.

Scarborough kills again. With words this time. He is not a true conservatives because trump is not a conservative. Hillary has the brains and balls in this game, using a.palin metaphor.
Btw, Sara took a dump this morning and it gave her the stink eye. As a result, Sara and Bristol have put out a press release that there will be consequences.

I guess Ted Cruz didn't get Joe's memo stating that he will never be the nominee.

What Cruz is doing to get delegates in every county/state across this nation is popcorn worthy. Cruz ended up with more delegates from Louisiana than Trump, and Trump won that state.

how many American voters want their Constitution replaced with laws from the Bible? Since it's pretty well known in political circles that Cruz wants to turn a democratic republic into a theocracy, it's inconceivable that he would get the nomination, let alone get enough votes to become President. The oppo research on him is extensive. Add in a horrible speaking voice, an unattractive mug and few real friends among the political elite, and his chances are less than zero. And when you compare him to the charismatic and charming Obama, well, you see the difference!
And for anyone who says charisma and charm don't win the Presidency, think about Reagan (who had nothing else going for him) and Clinton (who was actually hobbled by a few sex scandals, which perhaps made him even more appealing to some).

I was wondering why he's in a rush to go to the vatican? I doubt he'll get a private audience with the Pope, and I hope there isn't room in his "revolution" for pedophiles and pedophile shufflers. Wonder if he'll swing by and see the Dalai Lama? He's running for president, gets to his home turf, and suddenly he gets an itch to see the vatican?

Ted has said he knows he is not the likely choice but he will hang in there until he appears like the only good choice left among a group of bad choices. A pretty pathetic thing to say. I am sorry, but I will never vote for him. Those who know him best hate him. Look at how his wife and kids look at him. He is bad.

My parents are Republican and my father would never vote for Cruz but has acquiesced to voting for Trump but my mother won't commit and will sit this one out if it is either Trump or Cruz. There are a lot of Republicans, moderates such as my parents, that are in a real quandary right now having witnessed the destruction of their party since 2008 and now no longer feeling that they are working for their party and certainly that their party is not working for them.

I think people like my parents are going to have to forge a new party and let the "rabble" as my parents refer to the TeaParty and new base Republicans, have the old party.

I also would not be as rude as 1:14, but people who automatically vote a straight party ticket or sit out an election because they are too close-minded to vote for the opposite party are indeed part of the problem. The repub office holders have put party before country, and so have their supporters.

Republicans Enrage More Voters As Ted Cruz Tosses Around Anti-Semitic Slurs In New York

...“Let’s be honest. He said, New York values are about money and they’re about the media,” Toobin said. “That’s an anti-Semitic trope from 100 years, it’s been around for a very long time, everyone in the whole country understands what he was saying.”

Cruz’s full quote came from his attempt to explain his disparagement of New Yorker values, “Everyone understands that the values in New York City are socially liberal or pro-abortion or pro-gay marriage, focus around money and the media.”

Wolf Blitzer pointed out that the Republican Senator “clarified” that he only hates Democrats and liberals, naming several politicians he felt would seal his case like Governor Andrew Cuomo and the now disgraced Anthony Weiner.

Toobin wasn’t having it. “Oh really. They have nothing to do with money and media.”

Toobin pointed out, “Money and media is Jews. This is just an old-fashioned anti-Semitic stereotype, a derogatory term, and everyone understands it.”

Toobin was referring to the anti-Semitic cliché that “the Jews control the media.”

It doesn’t help matters that Donald Trump’s daughter and two grandchildren are Jewish. Like Donald Trump or not, this is low.

Ted Cruz took the easy way out with this one, he is playing to the prejudices of his base who deeply resent the “city slickers” (yes, really, that is a phrase used often in the South regarding people from big cities, and Ted Cruz smugly lobbed this insult at Donald Trump during a South Carolina debate).

It’s a wonder why Cruz can’t compete without falling back on ugly, divisive tactics. This is a serious problem for a candidate who presents himself as the son of a preacher who has divine abilities to unite the country.

Cruz keeps trying to sell himself to the GOP establishment as a better choice than Donald Trump, because he is a supposed uniter. Aside from the fact that Cruz is almost universally loathed by his own party colleagues, Cruz is trailing Trump in New York by wide margins. The smug disdain for Democrats and liberals because they champion rights for all citizens doesn’t play very well in a lot of places. Surprise surprise.

But the weirdest part of the evening was Sarah Palin, who spoke as Donald Trump’s surrogate. She was nearly incomprehensible. And before long, people were actually rolling their eyes and giggling. “Someone get a gong,” a gentleman sitting next to me implored. She seemed lost as she talked about a neoisolationist foreign policy, “not just nation-building schemes,” she said, noticing the unrest in the audience. “It’s not something to laugh at, friends.”

I remember the days–not so long ago–when Sarah Palin was the Donald Trump of the Republican Party. She drew packed houses, got ’em laughing: “How’s that hopey-changey stuff workin’ out for ya?” But now she was pathetic–and led me to wonder if Donald Trump, in the days to come, will become the Sarah Palin of the Republican Party.

I agree with Scarborough. Cruz is unelectable. The repubs aren't going to undergo an open convention and the drama of rejecting Trump only to end up with Cruz.

They will see to it that they end up with a stronger candidate than either Trump or Cruz, and they have a whole bunch of hooks and crooks to make it happen.
