Phil Robertson opens NASCAR race with prayer to his god to put a "Jesus man" in the White House. Because you know, who needs those silly elections?

Courtesy of The Friendly Atheist:

We got here via bibles and guns. I’m fixed to pray to the one who made that possible. Father, thank you for founding our nation. I pray, Father, that we don’t forget who brought us — You. Our faith in the blood of Jesus and his resurrection.

Help us, Father, to get back to that. Help us, Dear God, understand that the men and women on my right are the U.S. military. On my right, and on my left, our faith in you and the U.S. military is the reason we’re still here.

I pray, Father, we put a Jesus man in the White House.

Help us do that, and help us all to repent, to do what’s right to love you more and to love each other. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

So, just reading between the lines here, Robertson wants his god to overrule the will of the people who are showing up to the polls to choose our next leader and simply "put a Jesus man in the White House?" Did I get that right?

I also assume that since he only wants a "man" that Hillary Clinton is a non-starter, and the definition "Jesus man," whatever that is, certainly seems to exclude the Jewish Bernie Sanders as well.

I don't know why he's even trying to be coy since he is already on record as endorsing the super icky Ted Cruz.  Which works out perfectly because according to Cruz's pappy he was chosen by God to win the presidency anyhow.

You know I predict that by the time we get to the 2028 election cycle that there will be so few of these religious zealots left that their opinions, and religious bullshit, will virtually have NO impact on the way anybody votes anymore.

And I can hardly wait for that day to arrive.

I better start taking my vitamins so that I don't miss it.

Just one more reason I think NASCAR is a stupid waste of time and fuel and air quality.

I wonder how much he made for this appearance? He is a typical "Jesus man" like the televangelists, making a living scamming uneducated people. He needs to take a bath, cut his hair and GET REAL!

And when a Jesus man is NOT elected to be President of the United States and leader of the free world, what then? Will this idiot admit that his God has nixed his prayer and has instead let the voter decide who will occupy the White House? Strange that whenever their God ignores their pleas for this and that you never hear them say that perhaps they were asking for something that He didn't think was the right thing to do.

$arah said that very thing in October 2008 and, after being handed a crushing defeat, has been exacting her revenge ever since. Some x-tian!

Now they're trying to pick off those delegates one by one," Trump said on Fox News. "That's not the way democracy is supposed to work. They offer them trips, they offer them all sorts of things and you're allowed to do that. You can buy all these votes."

I just saw this on the internet!
Has it been on Sarah's facebook yet? Brancy's blog?

    http://www.rawstory.com/2016/04/christian-publisher-women-are-losing-their-salvation-because-they-masturbate/

“Too many Christian women are losing their salvation because they masturbate,” Mack wrote on the Eden Decoded Facebook page. “Dildos and all of those other sex toys have been used for thousands of years in demonic sex rituals. It’s one of the main ways ancient pagan societies worshiped their demonic gods.”

“Masturbation is a direct path to Satan,” he added. “There’s nothing normal about it. And shame on any Christian that says so.”

Bristol has nothing to worry about as she does not masturbate -- she gets it on with the rill dill, as shown by her two (at least) pregnancies and her shacking up with six (at least) different trial husbands.

Old Redneck, this is not a Palin thread and your slut shaming of even a hypocrite like Bristol has no place on a progressive blog.

Are you IM's blog police? No, then STFU and leave Ok Redneck alone. Bristol IS a slut and it should be mentioned on every post, since she reads here. Maybe she'll finally close her chunky legs and stop squeezing out babies every other year.

So he uses his prayer to talk about Jesus (the peacenik) and the US military, who has probably killed more people than any country on earth over 200 years? Old man needs to reread the New Testament, where it also tells believers to stay OUT of government.

9:24 I doubt that the U.S. has killed more people than any other the last 200 years.

Not when you factor in the "heads of state" which in most countries (all?) controls their military.

How many millions did Stalin kill of his own people? Hitler the Jews? China? Countries in Africa? Other dictators who wiped out millions of their own people?

I'd be interested in details, but I don't think your statement is true.

However, I believe I do get the point of your comment and that is the U.S. military (forced by their Commander In Chiefs with pressure from the Military Industrial Complex) has a tendency to go blow people away without thought to whom they are killing and why.

I was upstairs when they were doing the start rituals before the race so I missed the Devine Duck doing the devotional but heard the awful Texas Twangy Star Spangled Banger. Kyle Busch won again, again, and another and some more. Loved auto racing; it sure isn't golf but the drivers will have to start their engines without us. This was the final straw!

I know this isn't a Palin thread, but I'll make a comment anyway as it directly relates to this and to a previous Palin thread.

Yesterday some people went on at length about how dirty Todd's hair looked in the photo of him and Sailor.

Only two comments here so far mentioned this icky, vile looking slob's hair and appearance of cleanliness.

I think most would agree that this guy looks tons worse than Todd on his worst days (Todd's) and on this guy's best days.

My point is that sometimes the Palin Nit-Picking is pretty petty and greatly diminishes the discussion and makes IM followers look cray cray.

Just saying. Of course, my bet is that the ones who do the nit-picking aren't reading this thread because it isn't a Palin thread.

Oh, but wait, there are always those (us) Palin obsessed people who will turn ANY thread into a Palin thread by being off topic! LOL!

And, as you see, I'm NOT o/t, so there!

btw, the dirty, unkempt appearance of the Ducks is all costume. As normal looking yuppie types, the whole family would be nowhere so they devised this wardrobe as their gimmick.
