Senator John McCain, the man responsible for unleashing that unholy Wasilla terror on this country, will be a no show at the Republican convention this year.

Look what you helped do to the country.
Courtesy of AZ Central:

For the first time since 1984, Arizona Sen. John McCain won’t be speaking at the Republican National Convention, according to reports.

That's because he won't be there, according to the Hill. A former GOP presidential candidate, sitting senator and go-to guy for the talking-heads news shows?

You have to wonder: Is it Donald Trump or McCain’s Democratic challenger Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick who has Arizona’s one-time maverick senator running scared?

McCain told the Hill he’d be focusing on his race against Kirkpatrick – and he’d better. Polls show them in a dead heat

There’s also the Aug. 30 GOP primary, when Arizona mastodons who feel McCain is insufficiently conservative will try to replace him.

Apparently the McCain is just one of the many vulnerable Republicans being warned to stay away from the convention.

Kind of ironic isn't it? Here is a man who was once considered essentially bullet proof now running scared because the woman that he plucked out of the wilds of Wasilla has helped to usher in the utter destruction of his political party.

Let's face it, if there were never a Sarah Palin, Donald Trump would not now be leading in the fight for the GOP nomination.

How is THAT for a legacy?

His father, an admiral, bought him his commission and kept him in the Naval academy when he should have flunked out and been disciplined for the accident that was covered up. He didn't like his wife because she was pretty after being in an accident so he dumped her for Cyndi. Cyndi bought him his senator position and pays his huge gambling debts. He is a huge risk taker that has never had to face repercussion. Cyndi is no peach either.

Why are people with power, opportunity, or money such shits?

Senator McCain doesn't need the Palin curse. He is doing just fine on his own. He's been a mafia style snake for years and years, affluent kid with family that set him up and got him out of his crimes.

In an honest election, I believe he would loose his current bid for Senator. I question it will be honest. He may 'win'.

McCain made a deal with Viet Nam on behalf of his wife's company Bud. They could sell bud if they dropped pursuit of POWs/MIAs.

McCain should not have been a pilot and was responsible for flight deck incident.

There are other things. During 2008, he called his wife a c__t because she affectionally touched his hair. I heard he was involved in a deadly car crash around naval academy.

A nonprofit with ties to Senator John McCain received a $1 million donation from the government of Saudi Arabia in 2014, according to documents filed with the U.S. Internal Revenue Service.
The Arizona Republican has strictly honorary roles with the McCain Institute for International Leadership, a program at Arizona State University, and its fundraising arm, the McCain Institute Foundation, according to his office. But McCain has appeared at fundraising events for the institute and his Senate campaign’s fundraiser is listed in its tax returns as the contact person for the foundation.

Forget John McCain for a moment. How appropriate is it for so-called “institutions of higher learning” to be accepting million dollars contributions from an absolute monarchy where women can’t drive and with obvious ties to 9/11?

I find it hard to believe even Republicans in Arizona would vote for his old wrinkled sorry ass.

  7. There's a fairness in that.

During the 2008 run, wonkette had a picture of McCain next to George Bush - maybe on an airplane - with Bush's around around McCain's shoulder, and John looking like he'd rather be anywhere else in the world. During that convention, Bush appeared only briefly on a screen, but not in person. Nobody wanted him around in '12 either.

    1. That's because with each passing year Bush's legacy slips further and further down the crapper.

Republicans tried to shore him up as one of the "great" Republican presidents but you can't muzzle the truth. He sucked as president and as time has passed the degree to which he was downright horrible has been exposed further and further. Fewer and fewer yes men are willing to cover up or spew the company line to shore up his lousy administration.

History will portray him for what he was. Inept, embarrassing, incompetent and the role others played in him stealing not one but two elections. And the consequences of such.

It doesn't help that he was succeeded by one of the best presidents this country has seen. I'm sure what really burns the Republicans cookies is not that Obama is a Democrat or that he is Black but that he is such a good president and role model that in comparison he makes little Georgie look even worse.

Yep, with each passing year Obama's legacy will shine brighter and George's will sink further into the excrement.

Couldn't happen to a more deserving guy.

As for McCain, he will be remembered as the lecherous potty mouth that unleashed Sarah Palin on this country without proper vetting and never apologized to the American people for it.

McCain is ultimately responsible for the t'baggers and all the other right wing neo nazi fundamentalist nut jobs that slithered out of the darkness attracted to those naughty monkeys. His VP pick legitimized racism, bigotry and "Stupid Pride" in this country. Let the history books reflect his legacy too. If they mention him at all.

It was all McCain's to lose. And then he chose Sara.

I remember the reaction to her in the DC area after her first pit bull lipstick and anti-media speech. It was a shock to see such viciousness come out of her innocent looking mouth. And then using Trig and her children as both shield and weapon.

Do you really want to go to another country and be an immigrant, just because of who is President? Think about it for a second, and I think you'll realize that is crazy talk. America did weather a half-black president. There was dissension in both our Congress and in the public but we made it through that. He was good, he did some things that were important.

We will, I maintain, do okay under Trump. He's going to fix a lot of what is wrong in America right now and clean this place up and create a stronger America because he's going to require that Americans actually BE Americans before just settling down here and squatting on American soil.

It's an important point, and one that many miss.

Calling the planned fiasco “Operation Detain McCain” — mostly because the last two words rhyme — the alleged “grassroots movement” plans to send homeless veterans to occupy Sen. John McCain’s Phoenix office until he ends homelessness among vets and also answers for his crimes or something. This is not related to that one Oath Keepers guy who wants McCain executed for treason; despite the “Detain McCain” moniker, there doesn’t actually appear to be a plan to arrest the senator, but all those vets camping out in his office should slow him down some should he try to get to the coffeemaker, so same thing.
