The best description of Donald Trump and his followers that I have ever read.

Courtesy of The Guardian:

Trump seems to have the emotional range of a Power Rangers villain and the social skills of a teenage Minotaur. He looks like a pumpkin having a nervous breakdown, talks like the words are being fired out of his mouth by a tennis ball launcher and has the general manner of an arrogant televangelist suspected of murder by Columbo. His approach to public speaking? “If in doubt, switch to your internal monologue.” His core demographic? Possibly men whose holiday destinations would significantly overlap with a list of missing women. Trump is bringing out people who’ve never voted, people who felt they had no one to speak for them until now, people who throw microwaved beans at the television and people who go shopping in their pyjamas. And who knows, if Trump’s supporters are using their eight-fingered fists to make banners and red hats rather than drunkenly beating their kid into a coma that they won’t let a black doctor treat, maybe that’s a good thing. Trump knows that he appeals to people who are suspicious not just of political elites but everything those elites believe in, including rationality, and when confronted with anything empirical instinctively retreats into unverifiable anecdotes.

Yep, I think that about sums it up.

This is the best and most entertaining description of the Trumpster I've seen yet. So true, so sad.

    1. And this is why Sanders is "failing" with the message of hope:

"Trump/Sanders might actually end up being an interesting election centring on detailed arguments about trade and jobs, and Trump might come off really badly, as these are areas on which he has the firm grasp of a stroke victim eating an eclair.

"It’s certainly been entertaining to watch Sanders try to convey a message of hope through the dark prism of the US’s Stage 4 corporate media.

Aside from all the obvious problems of inherent bias, he has to energise people by asking them to engage in the passive activity of watching him on television, has to ask for activism and a more sophisticated understanding of political problems through a medium that is all about voyeurism and simplification."

  7. That picture of trump? My kids used to look exactly like that when they were infants sitting on the floor, producing something that burbled up over the back of their diapers. Generally followed by a happy, toothless smile.

When Melanie read her speech, ending with Trump punching 5x to one punch, I thought, I bet she probably knows of this personally. In addition, her son has his own floor, probably to protect him.

I could almost understand her. How long has she been in the US-decades? For someone Barbara Walters calls 'very intelligent,' you'd think she could speak better English. Get on that, Sarah, would you?

I was never a fan of Barbara Walters.
"If you could be a tree, which one would you be?" Puh-leeze, and her "most influential" lists are merely her opinion. She is caught up in celebrity and always has been.

She's been in New York since 1996. My husband is from Asia and has an accent and English isn't his first language. I get keeping one's accent. My grandparents were from the same part of Europe and retained their accents. And they lived here for a long time. But yeah, Melania spoke English as if she's only lived here a year. People who really engage with others usually speak a new language with ease after a while, especially after twenty years.

I heard Trump say his mother spanked him lovingly. He also said something to the effect she was the best person who had ever lived.

I can't find a link to the above anywhere but did find this:

      "On marriage:

“Part of the problem I’ve had with women has been in having to compare them to my incredible mother, Mary Trump. My mother is smart as hell.” (“Trump: The Art of the Comeback”)

    Great, great description.

BTW, yesterday I was looking at Barbara Walters' 2015 interview with Trump and Melania, and the white skin inside the creases you see between his eyebrows was so bright white. It was soooo bad, so embarrassing, and yet he went on national TV like that. He must squint when he's got his tanning lamp turned on.

Cruz looks to hand Trump a bruising defeat

If Trump scores no delegates in Wisconsin, he would need to win 70 percent of the yet-to-be bound delegates to win the nomination outright.

and right on cue, here's one of his 'followers':

<< “Mexico is going to pay directly, or Mexico is going to pay indirectly,” Pastor Darrell Scott told fellow panelists Ben Ferguson and Margaret Hoover. “It reminds me of a friend that I had years ago, OK? Let me say this for the record. He said, ‘You’re going to give me my money or I’m going to break your legs and you’re going to give me my money.’ Mexico will pay for the wall or Trump will break them down.” >>

Once a thug, always a thug. Trump is a gangster, and always has been, only this time what's at stake is the White House.

    1. I heard a news piece on NPR about his golf course in Scotland and the bully tactics he used there.

He didn't like a historic house that spoiled the course's view so he ordered his minions to buy it and have it removed. When the owner didn't sell they planted a bunch of trees along the property line spoiling the guy's view, then they build a wall on HIS property and sent him a bill for it. (Which he did not pay.)

There are people in Scotland who hate Dullard Drumpf and have first hand reasons to justify it.

  17. O/T...What is going on in Europe, Gryphen, I think, has a lot to do with Donald Trump's popularity. No way will you find out the true story of what's really going on through the media.

This is not about the true refugees from Syria, but about the economic migrants taking advantage of the war and overwhelming European Societies.

Most people in Europe; England, Germany and throughout Europe, are not allowed to speak out against the migrants invading their continent. The crimes being committed or the chaos they are creating.

Until I started watching the BBC and reading European papers, I did not realize that decades ago, the people in Britain voted on what they thought was a ..."common market."

Decades later, what was suppose to be a "few" countries trading with each other, turned out to becoming a "United States of Europe." Something no one had voted for. More and more countries were added to this group with headquarters in Brussels. All run by totally unelected elites from Europe.

Who was "really" in charge? Why of course, Germany. They were the country with all the money and were charge of everything.

England fought two world wars with Germany. Without firing a shot, they now have (or, until this immigration fiasco), almost full control of the continent.

The only country to defy the European Union (EU) against their Politically Correct laws, was the Prime Minister of Hungary. Here is a link to a speech he gave. Please scroll down and you will find it:
