Ben Carson confirms that Sarah Palin actually IS on Donald Trump's list of potential VP's.

Courtesy of The Hill:

Ben Carson says in a new interview that former Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin is being considered as presumptive presidential nominee Donald Trump’s running mate, along with a host of the real estate mogul’s former challengers.

Carson told The Washington Post that Ohio Gov. John Kasich, Sen. Marco Rubio (Fla.), Sen. Ted Cruz (Texas), Sarah Palin and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie “are all people on our list.”

Oh please, oh please, oh please, pick Sarah Palin.

I would have SO much fun with that.

Plus of course it would ensure that Trump had no chance of winning the presidency.

Great! Let the 4th Estate commence to finally vetting this phony, lazy grifter.

Personally, I think this is an indication of Trump's lack of seriousness. He's thumbing his nose at Establishment Republicans for their terrible alliances with fundies, tea party nuts and whatnot. The Base will eat it up but he'll be soundly defeated in the General. Palin seals it.

So, for the record, Sarah Palin is not going to be a VP choice. lol. As any even semi-intelligent person knows.

It's totally believable that Trump "is considering Palin" for VP.

      It's all semantics, folks.

There's a HUUUUUUUge difference between "seriously considering" or "in the top 3" considering or just "considering."

All he has to do is "leak" that he is "considering" Palin and her bots will side with him.

And he doesn't even have to lie.

Will she actually show up on his Top 3 List? Possibly, just for the "shock" factor that will get him a lot of attention.

The man is smart, kiniving, and he learned a lot from Sara Palin and how she operated during her hey day.

Tease. Tease. Tease. That's how you keep guys interested (right, Bristol?) And that's how you keep Palin followers interested.

It doesn't matter what Carson says. I'm not going to go looking for news of what Ben Carson says, because it is meaningless info lol.

Palin is not going to be VP choice for Trump. And you know it. First of all, Palin doesn't want to work. Second of all, even she knows she is in even less of a position to take such a role as she was 8 years ago. 3rd, Trump loves to play games, but he isn't going to put a loser on the ticket.

So yeah, you are shoveling bullshit and you know it.

6:52, Carson thinks Trump is his hero. This paragraph explains how he felt that night at the debate when he didn't hear his cue to go out, then Trump missed his. They were two bozos who had no clue, but Carson explains it this way:

To viewers at home, they looked like a pair of middle school drama students who had both missed their cue. But Carson saw Trump’s pause as a deliberate gesture to ease his awkwardness.

“That showed the kind of person that he is, to stand by me even though it did nothing for him personally,” Carson said.
“They stood together that day like brothers,” said Williams, one of Carson’s closest confidants. “That was a very important moment.”

7:02 is right. Carson says all kinds of things that he never should--he has no idea when he's making a big gaffe. This week he made a comment that had to do with Trump's lack of qualification or something (I'll try finding his exact words) and he said but Trump would be surrounded by people who did know things, and he added that it'd be for just four years (not eight) anyway.

Let's face it Trump needs a woman on the ticket to counter Hillary and to counter his terrible numbers with women. I don't think he will ultimately choose the Wasilla Wendigo but it looks good to the wingnuts that he had at least vetted her. Nikki Haley may have a shot though. Suzanna Martinez from NM has higher aspirations and won't hitch her wagon to the Donald.

Besides, I think Christie is going after AG. Normally the VP candidate does not manage the transition team and he has already been named for that job. And he is too much ego for the VP role in the shadows. And as AG he can get all the Bridgegate investigations and other inquiries into his corruption stopped/reversed.

Both Martinez and Haley have said absolutely not. I realize people being considered for VP often say no and then say yes, but usually the protest goes more like this: "I'm not thinking about VP right now, I'm just focused on being the best gosh-darn governor I can." Rarely do people say, "There is zero chance in hell of me running with this insane dude"...and then do it.

    He is a showman.

He can release a list when he wants and say, see I like women, look at all the great women on my list to go to the White House. Meanwhile he knows he would ask one of his doofus man picks that he wanted all along. All he has to do is use women to create the image of how he is good for women.

The Vice Presidency No One Should Want

Whether Trump or Clinton is elected, the new veep will be a weakling, eclipsed either by a massive ego or a super-powerful First Husband.

... Imagine yourself as Trump’s vice president. What are your chances of serving as a trusted, respected adviser on politics and policy? Look at the last President who had something like the mixture of massive self-regard and massive insecurity that defines Trump—Lyndon Baines Johnson. Having lived through the hell of being a scorned and shunned vice-president under John Kennedy—“I hated every minute of it,” he later said—he treated his own second, Hubert Humphrey, with equal contempt.

“You are his choice in a political marriage, and he expects your absolute loyalty,” Humphrey later said, but even that was not enough. In 1965, when Humphrey offered Johnson carefully modulated advice about the political costs of escalating the war in Vietnam, he was banished from the inner circle for a full year. And in 1968, Johnson made clear his contempt for his would-be successor (“Hubert squats when he pees,” he said.)

Trump’s contempt for rivals, critics and even allies makes LBJ’s bullying look like something out of Mr. Rogers. The video of him curtly ordering endorser Chris Christie to “get on the plane and go home” ought to be fair warning that a vice president under Trump should not expect anything better. Moreover, the idea of loyally supporting a Trump agenda poses a special challenge: That agenda is likely to be amended or abandoned on a moment’s notice. A prospective running mate, asked to declare himself or herself on Trump’s abortion, tax, health care or foreign policy positions, might be tempted to answer: “Which ones?” As for as being “the last voice” offering guidance, Trump has already told us what voice that will be.

“I’m speaking to myself,” he told Mika Brzezinski of “Morning Joe” in March, “because I have a very good brain.” His vice president, Trump suggested this week, would be a messenger boy, serving as his “legislative liaison.”

I like your analysis 8:11 AM. I totally agree with you that Trump's VP would never be allowed to have any thought of his own and would just be an errand-boy or girl.
Trump has already said loud and clear that he is his own adviser because he has "a very good brain". And who could ever follow his own changing policies and views? This would be the worst job in the world, not that I would feel sorry for the twit who accepts it.
I just could not believe that a grown man would say that he has a "good brain" and that he has "the best words". How childish is that? It reminded me of the time when my youngest son came back from school and proudly announced to his grandmother that he had passed first grade because he had a " big brain", something he had heard on Sesame Street. We thought it was cute since he was only 6 years old. At 69, hummm ... not so cute.

Trump will need Ohio and Florida. I just don't see him going with anyone who isn't legit, plus he needs someone who knows how government work and he has said he will go with an establishment person. Kasich and Rubio are not interested but I can see Trump pursuing them. This week Bill O'Reilly told Gingrinch on Fox that he is sure Trump will pick Gingrich. That would be a mistake but would make a lot more sense than some other choices, like Christie, whose bridgegate scandal is back in the news. I don't see Gingrich as happening. It would only make matters worse. There'd be two cheating blowhards on the ticket. Trump will need someone who makes the ticket humane and appealing to more voters. No way is Palin on the list, or if her name is typed on it that's just for appeasement.

‘He humiliated women’: Chris Wallace smacks down Reince Priebus for blowing off Trump’s sexism

...During an interview on Sunday, Fox News host Chris Wallace asked the chairman if he was bothered by a New York Times report that found “repeated instances of Trump insulting women and making unwanted advances even in the workplace.”

“Well, you know, a lot of things bother me,” Priebus shrugged. “And obviously, I’m the wrong person to be asking that particular question.”

“Wait a minute,” Wallace interrupted. “Why are you the wrong person? You’re the chairman of the party. This is your nominee, and they’re saying he has mistreated women.”

“People just don’t care,” Priebus replied. “I think people look at Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton and say, ‘Who is going to bring an earthquake to Washington, D.C.?'”

“I don’t think Donald Trump and his personal life is something that people are looking at and saying, ‘Wow, I’m surprised that he’s had girlfriends.’ That’s not what people look at.”

Wallace stopped Priebus: ‘Whoa, forgive me, sir. It’s not whether or not he had girlfriends. The question is whether or not he mistreated women, whether he made unwanted advances, whether he humiliated women in the workplace.”

WATCH: CNN Host Destroys Trump Campaign Manager For Denying Trump Acted As His Own Publicist

...On Sunday morning’s State of the Union, Tapper played the now infamous tape of Trump impersonating his own PR guy, and then asked campaign manager Paul Manafort if the campaign is “seriously claiming that wasn’t Mr. Trump?” Manafort stuck to his story but Tapper pressed on and put Manafort on the spot. Tapper said:

“In 1990 under oath he testified he did use the name John Barron, and in 1991 he told People magazine he did use the name John Miller so this has already been admitted previously. I don’t understand why now.”

Manafort then said, “I don’t know those facts to be true or not. I just know that he said it’s not him. I believe him.” He then went on in an attempt to change the subject, citing what he said was the lack of importance of the issue:

“I don’t even know the relevance of this frankly. It’s 25 years old and they’re not dealing with the issues that Trump is trying to focus on today. Jobs, terrorism, immigration problems. These are the issues we should be talking about. Why the media is spending so much time going by 25 years, talking about People magazine on a tape that may or may not be Trump.”

But Tapper wasn’t having it, and he explained the relevance of the story to Manafort. Here’s what he said:

“This issue is here you have a man who in his 40’s allegedly is his own public relations agent, bragging about his exploits with women while married to Ivana Trump, the mother of his three children and speaks to a certain kind of character issue don’t you think?”

It's one thing to say it was 25 years ago, when, 25 years ago you were, say 25. And have grown up and have a track record to prove improvement.

It's another thing entirely to be 40-ish and speaking all sexy about someone who isn't your wife.

I think the "that was 25 years ago meme" is intended to speak to the person (guy) who would say, "I wouldn't want what I did 25 years ago come back to haunt me."

Nobody would, if they were a total jerk. But, if that total jerk hasn't changed his way in 25 years, it doesn't matter if he was 10 years old or 100.

It shows a personality disorder that the problem continues to today.

It also shows a lot of enabling along the way if the person never felt the need to change because there were no consequences to them for the bad behavior. Or no one clued them in on the inappropriateness of the behavior.)

Imagine Sarah Palin in the White House

Sarah Palin may soon exchange her current occupation as professional rambler for another more structured job as the second hand to a shouting, shriveled piece of dried mango.

According to political insider and barely-awake neurosurgeon Ben Carson, Sarah Palin is among the names that Republican presidential nominee-to-be Donald Trump may tap for his vice president. Carson told The Washington Post that Palin is among a list that includes John Kasich, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, and Chris Christie.

Imagine if Trump actually chose Palin? Imagine if we had a repeat of 2008? Imagine if we had to endure another six months of the former Alaska Gov. shouting about mavericks and Bill Nye and kicking ISIS’ ass?

Better yet, just imagine Sarah Palin in the White House, serving as the Vice President of the United States of America. I’ll bet it’d look something like this. (See video)

Sarah as the VP candidate? Okay, let's give this some thought.

The GOP National Convention is 18-21 July. That's two months away -- a LOT can happen in two months, especially because this is the Palin Freak Show we are talking about.

By that time, Jordan will be six months pregnant and clearly showing. Will she and Track be married by then? If so -- or even if not -- will Sarah trot out Jordan and Track as an example of her All-American, God-Fearing family?

Will Track be out of jail? Or will he beat the shit out of Jordan or some other woman and be facing more charges?

Will Sarah trot out all three and one-in-the-oven of her grandchildren -- none of them conceived in wedlock?

What about Trigg?? Back in 2008, Sarah could cart him around on her hip like a sack of groceries. Now he's a fully mobile 8-yr-old who is not toilet trained, does not eat solid food, and whose favorite word is "Bullshit!!"

Then there's the matter of Bristol and MOH. Will MOH campaign for Sarah? With MOH spending so much time with Sailor, maybe he and Bristol will decided to get married -- or maybe she'll just decide to get knocked up again.

How will Sarah deal with the fact the Bristol is the unmarried single mother of two children, by two different fathers?

Maybe we could start a campaign to help Sarah nail down the VP slot -- letters, email, twitter to Carson and Trump; contact the RNC; maybe a Sarah For VP Facebook page -- let's give her all the help we can!!!

"Why in God's name would you want to close the borders of our nation to the adherence to one of the world's great monotheisms?" Hayden said during an interview in Business Insider's Manhattan headquarters.

... "He has not shown me the capacity to treat international issues with the complexity and seriousness that they deserve," Hayden said. "And again, if I'm supposed to ignore those things — 'that was just done for the crowd' — frankly, that's an even worse problem. I'm going to take him at face value."

.... "Of the candidates left, the only one who in any way seems to embrace the American liberal post-World War II foreign-policy consensus, have a fairly active American role in global things — the only one left standing is Hillary Clinton," Hayden said. "

.... The difference between Secretary Clinton and Trump — I mean, Trump is talking about the world in a way that takes us back to the 1930s. I mean, he's talking almost isolationism, America first. He's talking about distributing A-bombs around the world. Those are crazy positions," Panetta told CNN's Chris Cuomo.

    He added:

I'm not sure what he stands for. I'm not sure what his positions are. He takes one position one day, he takes another position the next day. He takes positions on, you know, immigration and building a wall, on getting rid of 11 million immigrants. He talks about distributing atomic weapons so that it's OK if Japan gets atomic weapons, if Korea gets atomic weapons. He says these things almost as if he's not even thinking. And then, you know, the next day he kind of changes his position to try to soften some of the things he says....

A few posts back the topic was Palin as 'Mother of Trump'...that her VP candidacy paved the way for Trump. For years, Gryphen and most of the people who comment here have lamented how Palin has harmed our nation's political discourse and our democracy. And, now, many of these same people are saying how great it would be if Trump put her on the ticket? Seriously? Why do you hate America?

10:33 maybe if you had paid attention to the posts on IM from 2008 to the present you would note the many ways Palin would be a serious detriment to Trump's winning the presidency. Win, win for Dems! This is a very basic logic. Perhaps you ought to consider a critical thinking class. And, as far as hating "America” (note North, Central and South America are separate geographic designations, and btw, is that you Sarah?) freedom-loving patriots pay attention to how a fascist like Trump gains traction by appealing to fearful, low-information citizenry. Check out the reasons for WWII. How about turning off the Faux News and begin reading different and conflicting news sources so you can see the many sides to an issue? I assure you it will up your game.

If I may agree with 10:33 for a minute without getting shat upon.... S/he has a point that McCain's putting Palin on his ticket in 2008 ushered in this era of "it's ok to be an idiot racist". Putting her in the spotlight again will just repeat the cycle. She didn't have to win anything to cause havoc the last time, and this time would be no different.

But I also realize that many commenters are snarking (is that a verb?) in their desire to see her once again in our faces on every news network, so there's that too. Since it's getting to be so difficult to tell satire from reality, we may have to resort to satire notifications.

Some say Donald Trump is a racist. How does Trump feel about Sarah Palin getting her swirl on with Glenn "The Wombshifter" Rice?

Girl: "That man was so huge, I felt my guts being pushed up in my insides."

Girls Friend: "Yes, they don't call him a wombshifter for nothing."

Donald Trump’s Week of Playing with Financial Fire

If he were president right now, the markets would be reeling and interest rates rising in reaction to his comments about debt.

Drumpf and Palin? Dumb and Dumber. Neither of these two narcissistic sociopaths has the education or basic smarts to understand the modern world. They'd turn the US of A into another failed reality show, and we can't afford that.

Clinton team looking for a VP who will be fighter, excite Sanders supporters

Hillary Clinton is considering a running mate who could make a direct appeal to supporters of Bernie Sanders, bridging a generational and political divide, according to four people close to the campaign.

Clinton’s chief requirements include a candidate’s resume and a fighter capable of hand-to-hand combat with Trump. The campaign’s vetting also prioritizes demographics over someone from a key swing state as she seeks to unify the Democratic voting base, said the individuals coordinating with the campaign, who were not authorized to speak on the record about early deliberations.

Is It Too Late In The Election To Swing Millennial Voters?

There’s a lot at stake this election season and securing the youth vote will be more important than ever before. Why? Millennials are the largest and most diverse generation and make up the biggest population of eligible voters, with some 75 million nationwide. Between the age of 18 and 35, their priorities and concerns have shaped agendas and, when channeled, have brought substantial energy to presidential campaigns like that of Bernie Sanders and Barack Obama before him.

As Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump come into focus as their parties’ nominees, how can they bring millennials over to their side? And is that even possible at this stage of the campaign?

Trump, Palin and the rest of the religious and bigoted nutjobs in the GOP still have the support of a large portion of your countrymen and it's not impossible for them to take hold of the presidency. It's horrifying to most sane people on the planet to think that this demagogue and any of the GOP zealot could ever get to make decisions that will affect the security of the rest of the world and your every day life for the foreseeable future with 2 or 3 Supreme Court appointments in the balance. It's good to share opinions and commiserate on a blog but we hope that you will show up to vote next November. We can only watch with horror from afar and hope that Democrats will unite and vote for their nominee. Those who wish to show their displeasure and vote for Jill Stein if Bernie (whom I like very much as I do Hillary) is not selected run a big risk of waking up to a President Trump.

The Rs will be out in huge numbers voting the down ticket candidates. Even, and especially, those who despise Trump. From all my reading the rounds of right wing sites, they are adamant with getting their local Rs in because they believe Trump can't win.

We NEED to make sure the Ds are out in force also. VOTE VOTE VOTE!

Is this a belated April Fool Joke? Ben Carson, who can barely keep his eyes open, retired brain surgeon, with pictures of him and his bff, Jesus on the walls includes Sarah as a VP pick choice for Trump? Does he realize she'll quit two months later and he'll have to pull the old oija board out again????
Bwaaaaahhhhhaa. Good one, Ben. Do tell, did you give Bristol a perusal? Melania needs someone on her level, and Trump and Sarah will get in a pissing match, "You're Fired" "I Quit".
