Christians are receiving special training so that they can confront Atheists at the Reason Rally. Oh this ought to be fun!

Courtesy of Reason Rally Outreach:

The Atheists will be having another “Reason Rally”. They will be gathering, which gives us a great opportunity to witness to 20,000 atheists in one day. Our hope is to get 1,000 Christians to share the good news of Jesus Christ with them. If you love to share the gospel or not this will be a great opportunity for you. With so many other believers sharing the gospel you will get to learn from other and enjoy great Christian fellowship.

Friday night we will have a special training with Ray Comfort, Matt Slick and Andrew Rappaport. Ray will be sharing an exclusive sneak peek of the first 10 min. of their upcoming film “The Atheist Delusion”, only to those that attend the Friday night training.

Wait, was Ray "Banana Man" Comfort on that list of trainers?

Holy crap this will be a debacle.

Here is more courtesy of The Friendly Atheist:

It’s telling that they need training before approaching atheists. The idea here is that we’ll challenge them with arguments they don’t have responses to, so they need to know how to really get their message across. Given that trainer Ray Comfort’s past efforts have included exaggerated movies and a silly banana, this will inevitably be a crash course that takes the crash part literally.

Damn, I hope somebody takes footage of some of these exchanges between the Reason Rally attendees and the newly trained evangelists showing up to save their immortal souls.

You can bet I'll be posting it if they do.

Did anyone ever see the box office numbers for "Climate Hustle?" I'll bet it bombed.

Do atheists train for and go to Christian gatherings in the hopes of converting them? No, we don't.

I actually had this discussion just yesterday with a young man that had attended Christian Schools, but who is now an adult in state (non-Christian)college.
I asked him to consider how many different religions there are in the world. Every one of them believes they are right.
I then asked him to consider how many different denominations of Christianity there are and how different from each other they are. And to keep in mind that every one of them believes they are right.

Then I asked him to consider that arithmetic is the same for all of them. 2 + 2 = 4 always.
And higher math, trigonometry, geometry, calculus, etc. works just the same - always.
The same for physics: thermodynamics, gravity, the Bernoulli principle, electron theory, internal combustion engines, on and on... It all works the same no matter what religious nonsense one believes.
He's a very bright young man and he agreed with everything I said. But. He still believes that his religion (Lutheran) is the only right one.
    Isn't religion funny?

If indoctrinated young enough it is difficult for people to escape religion as it acts upon the brain much like the repetitive and often superstitious actions of people with OCD.

Many simply fear that if they break the cycle of repetitive behavior that if will negatively impact their "afterlife" which in itself is a ludicrous idea that people must be brainwashed to believe in.

It's a cruel and vicious cycle for sure.

NO! Religion is NOT funny. Nor is it nice. Nor is it peaceful. It is - as has been pointed out MANY times here - a game of power for those who want it. Well, organized religion, anyway

Christian attendees at the Atheist "Reason Rally" may find that converting those nonbelievers is no easy task. Studies have shown that more atheists have studied the Bible than have self-proclaimed Christians.
That's what caused them to become atheists in the first place.

After becoming a born-again Christian, I set out to study the Bible. After years of reading and studying 'God's Word', I became an atheist.

    Dear Trump and Hillary,

Since you two are probably going to be the candidates in November, I would like to ask you both to do something.

I want you to show yourselves being normal people, with normal smiles, hanging out with non-political/business chaps.

I don't care about whether you cook or not. I myself have made probably a total of 10 meals at home. That means nothing. I don't even care if you don't take out the garbage or clean your fridge. I myself have used maid services often.
    That too means nothing.

I want to see you two being genuine and enjoying a hobby or activity outside politics.

Cheney, as we know, hunts. (lol)
    Condaleeza is a musician.
    Bush is a ranch boy.

I want to see you two do something, besides golf (insert common political hobby). What did you do when you were 25, an age when kids are fancy free and enjoying the world?

Though I kind of do want to see you two change a diaper though I'm resigned to think it has never happened in your lives.

Bush is/was NOT a ranch guy. That was an act designed by Rove for moron voters.
      He does paint however.

"Many of you know that when I’m asked by my seatmate on an airplane what it is I do for a living, I’ve been know to say, “Um, ….I work for a non-profit?”. Because when I say “I am a pastor” then I have to sit through whatever reaction they have. I’m used to people sort of looking at me suspiciously either because they are pretty sure I just lied to them or because I now represent an institution they distrust. Which I totally get. But the reaction that is the most exhausting is from people who for some reason feel guilty or like they have to justify to me why they don’t go to church when in all honesty, I seriously don’t care. One of the more interesting things folks will say to me is: “I’m not religious or anything, I just hope that being a good person is enough.” To which I always want to say… “enough for what?” … avoiding the punishment of burning in the eternal fires of some kind of imaginary hell?"

If you're interested, you may read her whole sermon here (highly recommended):

The owner of this blog is not wishy-washy about his beliefs. There is nothing vague about where he stands. This leaves the door open for a good, quarrelsome debate.

    And friendship.

Those Christians don't know when to stop. The best review of Ray Comfort's shit stain of a movie "Audacity" can be found here starting at the 23:30 mark. https://secure-hwcdn.libsyn.com/p/9/c/3/9c396bc8c6eaa44e/SA-2015-07-09.mp3?c_id=9375742&expiration=1462814308&hwt=e2dee1865fd1dbb4dbe061312cd6386e

That movie is on the Youtubes if you are brave enough to watch... I'll not link to it.

Not really, 8:16, because it usually isn't what the bible SAYS that people follow. It's someone's idiotic interpretation of what it says.

This is a great plan for bringing more attention to the Reason Rally which, otherwise, would have been largely ignored by the media.

just imagine the outrage and the gnashing of teeth if a thousand athiests printed up "reason" pamphlets and crashed a Christian rally!

The cry from Fox news would be heard ever day about those godless commie athiests persecuting the rill 'muricans!

Somehow, these ignorant religious fanatic people think nothing of pushing their own views on a peaceful gathering, because they claim the high moral ground for themselves.

I have yet to talk to one Christian who takes the bible literally, that can justify condoning slavery, rape, murder, stoning, and forcing women into 3rd class status as virtual house slaves..

Religions (all of them) are like an ebola infection on the entire human race.

Until we get rid of the mythology, superstition, and fairy tales handed down from Iron age scrolls, we are doomed to wars, tribal conflict, nationalistic and fascist dictators, and religious persecution of billions of humans

Christians just want to bring more people into their fold so that they can get your money. None of them give a shit about your salvation, if there even was such a thing.

    More death panels. For real.

Mix Republicans, Jeebus and outsourcing and this is what you get:

Hepatitis C 'epidemic' largely untreated in Tennessee prisons

    http://www.tennessean.com/story/news/crime/2016/05/07/only-8-3487-tennessee-inmates-hepatitis-c-receive-cure/82269382/

"Administrators always grapple with costs. But Donald Willie, a former nurse practitioner who worked in a West Tennessee prison for 14 years, hinted there could be other motives beyond avoiding pricey medications.

"There are a lot of these contractors that think they’re part of the punishment of the inmates. That's something I've been against since the very beginning," Willie recently told The Tennessean.

"Our job is not to punish the inmates but to provide, maybe not the highest quality care, but good, sound care.""

As these prisoners infect each other and some are then released to infect the public the epidemic becomes worse.

The banana boy clip is a classic. Look how Kirk squirms from side to side in his seat, as Mr Comfort tries to "groom" him, er, explains why bananas are shaped they way they are.
So these newly trained evangelicals, have they moved to avocados and kiwi yet? In my minds eye, I see a huge food fight and in the end, both sides eat their fresh quacamole and have bananas for dessert.
    Can't fix crazy, I suppose.
