Conservative pundit Mark Levin had some choice words Tuesday for Fox News in regards to its coverage of Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump.
Levin, a supporter of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), went off on Fox News for its treatment of Trump, starting with the network's refusal to give context to Cruz's meltdown over Trump's floating of an unsubstantiated National Enquirer story about Cruz's father.
Levin specifically targeted Fox's "The Five" for not clearing up the conspiracy theory that Cruz's father was photographed with Lee Harvey Oswald around the time of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, calling the network a "Donald Trump Super PAC."
“They may be laughing today, but they’re going to be rubbing their own faces in their own feces, I’ll tell you that, after this general election, because they have humiliated themselves,” Levin said. “Does Donald sound like he’s cutting a joke?”
During his tirade, Levin took shots at "Fox and Friends" and "Outnumbered" for taking it easy on Trump and for not asking follow-up questions about the "ludicrous" article.
"And what the hell is with the hosts on the 'Fox and Friends' show? They didn’t even challenge Trump!" Levin said. "Not a damn question! Nothing! Zero!”
Levin had no love for Trump and his surrogates' glib attitude either, saying Trump is doing “a hell of a pathetic job” of uniting the Republican Party.
"They think this is funny?" he asked. "We are going to get our asses kicked in the general election, ladies and gentlemen!”
A Fox News spokesperson did not immediately respond Wednesday morning to a request for comment from TPM.

Erick Erickson Vows To De-Register As GOPer If Trump Is Party's Nominee
Prominent conservative talk radio host Erick Erickson said Tuesday night he will de-register as a member of the Republican Party if Donald Trump secures the presidential nomination.
“If Trump is the Republican Party nominee, I won’t be a Republican,” Erickson, who founded RedState, told the Daily Beast. “I’m not down with white supremacists.”
On his blog The Resurgent, Erickson wrote Wednesday the GOP must "draw a line" with Trump, as the party did by refusing to support former KKK leader David Duke's run for U.S. Senate in 1990.
"If Republicans in 2016 are unwilling to draw a line and refuse to support Trump with what we know about him, I do not find it plausible that the GOP would reject another David Duke should he ever advance to Trump’s position," he wrote.
Erickson has for months rallied the #NeverTrump movement, calling for a third party candidate to mount a challenge to the billionaire and Democrat Hillary Clinton.

“I have no idea what the so-called establishment, if it exists, is thinking. I can tell you what I’m thinking.” And boy, he really did.
O’Reilly asks Krauthammer if he would vote for Trump, who responds that based on the campaign so far:
“I don’t think I’d be capable voting for Donald Trump.”
The Fox host then attempts to sell Krauthammer on Trump, as if all the racist, sexist, frat bro behavior from the candidate so far will all fade away once the race for President moves into it’s next phase. Finally, after working up this fantasy version of Trump, he asks his guest why he wouldn’t vote for Donald if he re-positioned himself as a “practical-popular-conservative.”
“Why couldn’t you vote for him?” O’Reilly asks, before Krauthammer delivers a killer deadpan response with:
“Populist conservative is a contradiction in terms.”

The "smart Democrats" remark reminds me of how McCain thought that all those Democratic women would flock to his side if Palin were on the ticket. ReplyDeleteWhen we look back at the history of this country, we celebrate some great thinkers who helped architect our nation. Men like Ben Franklin, Thomas Paine, George Washington, James Madison, John Jay, Alexander Hamilton.
How will history view this period in time? When our nation looked to be led by imbeciles? When anecdotes and sound-bites took precedence over science and empirical evidence?
Ben Franklin was a noted statesman and inventor; a world traveler and diplomat. Paine, Madison, Jay & Hamilton accomplished writers. Sarah Palin can barely compose a coherent sentence & Donald Trump wants us to believe the qualifying criteria for who should win the presidential contest (not, mind you, who is best suited to preside over the executive branch of our gov't) should be determined by who can best out-bully the others.
What have we come to?

I really hope that Trump picks Palin for V.P., it would be so amazing to watch the Trump/Hillary debates followed by the Palin/Warren (hopefully) debates. Of course followed by some excellent SNL skits featuring Tina Fey, Kate McKinnon, Darrell Hammond, and maybe some Amy Poehler.
What I might hate most about her talking isn't the word salad itself but the total inconsistency with how she pronounces words ending in -ing. She goes back and forth pronouncing them as "in'" and "ing," sentence to sentence and even within the same sentence. Her voice is so put on. She took the comments that some people (like Chris Matthews, who now can't stand her way of talking) made about her voice back in 2008, comments that said it was quirky in a charming way, and she has since played that up, but all you hear is fakery.
