Stephen Colbert takes on the Charlie Daniels NRA ad.

Not only was that hilarious but Colbert's Charlie Daniels impersonation was spot on.

So, Charlie Daniels does the same kind of meth'ed-out rhyming as the Wasilla Wendigo--is this a rwnj meme or something?

OT:"“They are willing to spend limitless money in order to basically keep bad guys from being accountable for their actions,”
"The Catholic Conference has argued that opening a one-year window to revive old cases could ultimately bankrupt the Church. "The Senate GOP opposes the one-year “lookback” window that Democrats are calling for."

  3. Uhhh, speaking as an American who travelled extensively in my youth............that was truly embarrassing and I'm glad that I don't have to be the one to explain Charlie Daniels to any curious Europeans!

Anyway, the follow-up ad was truly entertaining. I have never seen a single one of the mentioned reality shows, but I still found the references hysterically funny! Kind of sad though..........American conservatives have now apparently found a new national identity that they can be proud of featuring fake reality shows about truck drivers, dance moms, unwed teen mothers, pawn store owners, and trailer trash beauty pageant contestants? And sadly, that's how the rest of the world tends to see us too, since television is the first "American contact" that most foreigners ever experience.

Everyone in the world with a brain knows these reality shows are fake. The people who think these shows are real are Drumpf's demographic. That's why he is where he is in 2016.

I sincerely hope that you're right and that people around the world realize they are not a true representation of American culture. However, even though they're fake, they wouldn't exist unless there was a large population of Americans eager to watch them, and that alone is embarrassing.

8:43 I agree. The second "fake" one was way better than the original.

Funnier, more on topic, used tons more of the current meme and call out words that the NRA target audience reacts to.

NRA should of hired Colbert to do their ads.

I still love "Devil Went Down to Georgia." Is it OK to like a person's music but not their public persona?

I was never into Charlie Daniel's genre of music, nor love affair with guns, but what really got me laughing was the second video and the comment about the Statue of Liberty's butt. Can't get more patriotic than that when the measure of a man is his guns.
