I have never in my almost 70 years seen anything like the voters (so-called) of today. If their candidate isn't nominated for the presidency they don't want to support/vote for the one who is nominated. They even seem to want to sabotage the Democrat who did win the nomination, their own party (allegedly).
It use to be when your candidate did not win the nomination, the Democrats banned together and invested their support in the Democrat who did win.

Second thought, I do believe many of these people are NOT Democrats at all, but just agitators working for the Republican party. They were never going to vote for ANY Democrat in the first place. Also I believe many of them don't vote anyway.

Thank you. Hillary is a weak candidate with high negatives and her supporters knew this from the start. If she loses, it won't be because of Sanders.

Meanwhile.....nicky the handler for the famous McCain/palin ticket explains the vetting process. And the panel explains hugely and loudly all the scandals in their life and how trump will be the face of it. Oh how sweet it is. Oh can you see? America the Beautiful. This election is a perfect example of the toxic waste in American politics. The world is watching. and it is butthole ugly uglenza standing on a soapbox screeching.

Gryphen, sex workers don't want it 'legalized'; they want it 'decriminalized'.

... big difference. Legalization puts too much power in the hands of the pimps, whereas decriminalization puts the money and the power in the hands of the people doing the work.

    1. I am also a child of the sixties.

By the way I did not see that illustration as representing hippies.

However when I attended the caucus in Anchorage I interacted with a number of Bernie supporters and a lot of them were quite young and presented as counterculture. In fact one young man I talked to could have literally been the model for that gentleman in the cartoon.

By the way I focused on the message of the illustration, which is why I posted it.

    1. Gryphen didn't draw the picture he posted a cartoon he found on line

    2. The sanders supporter depicted isn't dirty-he has long hair and a beard with jeans and a tee shirt on!!!

And for what it's worth the hippies of the sixties for the most part were unkempt-the real haight ash bury /Woodstock hippies at least-not so much the suburban hippies.
I am an urban hippy type myself but I know that Charles Manson for example was a hippy and lived in a commune with other hippies. The sixties was NOT all peace and love. There were lots of drugs and violence as well.

All of that being said the picture depicts a fairly standard drawing of a hippy for cartoon value.

  12. Perhaps you can't remember the PUMA movement, but those of us that don't subscribe to hysterical pronouncements do. It's time for all those crying out and tearing out their hair to calm down, and I include you BOBs, take a deep breath and realize that this too shall pass. Hillary did not concede until 4 days after the primaries ended and the wailing and gnashing of the teeth was on a scale of now, it plainly didn't cause the apocalypse, it actually mattered not at all in the end.
I call for all of you to calm the fuck down and we will overcome the Anti-Christ (Trump) in the general election.
Gryphon, I applaud your passion, but I call to your better, more intelligent self to be the blogger we have come to rely upon to report, give your opinion, but remain a bit outside the fray, as being too close to the trees, one cannot see the forest...

Gryph still making the assumption that the majority of people voting for Bernie are or should be 'Clinton' Democrats. They are Bernie democrats and independents, of which a large portion absolutely cannot stand Hillary, and would gladly see ANYONE in office but Hillary. They want change.

When is it actually going to dawn on you and get thru your hard head that Hillary is a tremendously flawed and unlikeable candidate- for a large portion of the population anyways.

Lol sorry to disappoint you 10:12, I will be voting my conscience which will likely be a 3rd party candidate. But as far as providing political observation, Hillary was at her peak when the primaries started, she has been steadily going downhill since, and that will continue thru the general. She has no wind behind her back. She will continue to struggle with 3 decades of Clinton baggage, not to mention the ultra-fresh Clinton scandals.

She is a loser, Bernie has momentum and polls better against Trump than Hillary.

So while the DNC propped up this weak candidate to win the democratic nomination, she will fall to Trump.

I'd like to know when it gets through his head that insulting Bernie supporters is NOT going to win them over to vote for Hillary.

In fact, he is inciting the exact opposite.

So, when the Bernie supporters decide to sit the election out because they're tired of being called fucking children, you have only yourself to blame, Gryphen. You and the rest of the Bernie bashers will have gotten what you wished for. You drove the Bernie supporters away with your insults and your nastiness. And perhaps not just for November but for may elections to come.

Sure they won't vote for Trump, but they may not vote for Hillary either. They may not vote at all.

Be careful what you wish for.

And ask yourself. Was it worth it for a few seconds of gloat? Was the giggle worth losing those votes?

Because the more Gryphen posts this crap, the more people he will alienate until they just decide to do as they're told; go fuck off. Never to return.

Yesterday he called a couple of Bernie's committee selections "bomb throwers".
We all know they throw chairs, right?
And posting unflattering pics of Bernie to accompany posts making fun of him.

Just because fate finds Gryphen in the bag for Hillary and me in the bag for Bernie doesn't mean we can't all be friends since we're trying to look out for each other. It's the Republicans whispering "what's in it for me, jack?"

We can debate without calling each other "stupid" and make our cases without shouting out comments on anyone's physical characteristics or personal environment.

I thank The Ether that our choices are people like Hillary and Bernie, and not people like Drumpf and Cruz.

The troll army is fairly easy to discern due to Gryphen's type of commentors don't post walls of copy and paste with no hint of a comment of their own. Gryphen's posters like to bash $arah Paylin, but only for comic relief and otherwise are respectful and thoughtful.

He's so "democratic" he's allowed his own blog to be poisoned by trolls who are all Anonymous.

There isn't even the pretense of courtesy any more. He openly allows personal attacks because, hey, they're just Bernie supporters so they don't deserve to be treated civilly.

If Bernie supporters are supposed to 'face reality and do the math,' Hillary's should do the same:

    Favorable/Unfavorable:
    Trump: -17
    Clinton: -16
    Sanders: +8

That said, the vast majority of Sanders supporters are Dems, and will rally behind the nominee come November.

The 'Bernie or Bust' wing are the exception, not the rule. Many of them wouldn't even have been involved in the process in the first place were it not for Sanders' candidacy.

The fact of the matter is that Hillary Clinton may not be the strongest candidate in this unique election cycle. She represents business as usual and the establishment at a time when there is a clear desire from both sides of the aisle to 'shake things up.'

Perhaps cognizant of the fact that Hillary very possibly could lose in a race against Trump, some are preemptively assigning blame for such an outcome on 'Bernie or Bust'ers.

If you get your dream candidate and she can't close the deal, it's not on Bernie. You make your bed, you lie in it.

Those who would allow a Trump presidency over a Clinton presidency are faux progressives. It doesn't take much in cognitive thinking to realize that Hillary is a million times better than trump as SANDERS has said himself.

Instead of trying to label other people in some way that suits the world as you see it thru your rose colored glasses, maybe you should simply recognize and respect that other people have an individual vote just like you do. And just because they choose to vote differently than you do, does not make it any less important or reasoned than yours.

BTW Hillary in the general is almost certain to cement a Trump presidency.
