A fairly accurate depiction of what we can expect at the Democratic convention this year.

I know, I know, "Get over it Gryphen."

I will when Bernie does.

kabiddle@4:23 AM - BS is costing us over $38,000 a day for his security service because he won't get out as a nominee. That doesn't include the salaries - it is for meals, hotels, travel, etc. because the "protectors" for BS and Jane have to travel wherever old BS decides to speak that day. And of course they have to be protected when at home in Burlington.

The usual a*holes like Trump, BS and Jane spew thrift while spending our tax dollars for BS (and that is bullshit)!

45% of the pledged delegates, won 22 states, 12 million votes. Sanders has leverage and power. Clinton knows it. Obama knows it. Bernie's not going to quit now. Nobody quits in the middle of negotiations. He's already gotten one of his biggest demands: DWS is out. He's going to get more. He's going to get a Thursday night primetime speaking spot during the convention. Deal with it.

Hillary could have pressed on in 2008, but she didn't have the balls to press like Sanders. What you're seeing is how a true fighter for a cause fights.

Room will be made for him. Clinton could have fought back, but she didn't have the balls. She was afraid she wouldn't get her turn in 2016, or the cabinet position, or help with her debt. Sanders doesn't need anything for himself. He's progressing the movement.

By the way, the Cspan video from the Senate yesterday shows how much influence he has. Senators of both parties clamored for a chance to talk to him when he was in the chamber.

I think that by the time the convention takes place, Bernie will already be irrelevant and that's what he deserves for his attitude. Early on, he was talking about economic inequality and issues that are important to the American people. Now, he is all about the inequities in the Democratic Party. When did his message change? When he started to lose.

Shut up, Bernie. You are no Democrat. Never were. You will abandon the party once you have used and abused it.

    8. Anonymous12:58 PM

I wouldn't bet CBC wields more power than Sanders on this issue. Many state delegations have added amendments calling for changes to the superdelegate system to their state platforms. It doesn't have to happen this year. My money's on the system will be changed before 2020.

More people under 30 of all colors and persuasions voted for Sanders than voted for Trump and Clinton combined. Sanders' movement is the future of the Democratic Party.

Bernie may succeed in inspiring the party to reduce the number of (not eliminate) superdelegates. All righty. And what does that achieve? They're not the reason he lost -- he got creamed in the pledged delegate department. If supers didn't exist or were assigned proportionally, he'd still have lost.

Closed primaries aren't the reason he lost, either. Clinton won substantially more OPEN contests than he did. Another red herring.

Can't stop being amazed at how willingly Berners fall for his sleight of hand. He hammers irrelevant issues and his rubes go running wide-eyed and slack-jawed down Tangent Lane.

Keep 'em angry, keep 'em ignorant, keep 'em confused about the rules...that way, they won't notice that his platform is all slogan, no engine.

What a self-centered, dishonest piece of shit this man turned out to be. So glad he's over.

Over the last several months, my opinion of Bernie has gone from one of respect to one of wondering what in the hell he is trying to do in dividing the party (that very graciously let him in), and now, costing we the taxpayers $38000 per day. I now vacillate between feeling disgust and outrage toward him and wondering if he has dementia. I no longer have 1 shred of respect for him. But HE did that.

      2) ass kissing the NRA
      3) His next big issue were soda taxes. My Dog, he had the nat'l press at his feet and he was whining about soda taxes.
      4) He was off in WV defending big dirty coal
I won't vote for him as an unpledged delegate for those reasons alone, but the fact he also wanted to double my tax rate when I am in the highest earning bracket because unlike Bernie I worked hard, supported my own kids, and worked hard to have retirement income set up.

      - Cite to where Sanders "ass-kissed" the NRA. NRA gives Sanders a D- . The issues on which Sanders agrees with the NRA are based on constitutional grounds.

Planned Parenthood said this about him earlier this year:
"Deirdre Schifeling, executive director for Planned Parenthood Action Fund, said many people at the organization were surprised by the comments because the Vermont senator has long been a supporter of abortion rights and women’s reproductive health. But flags were raised after Sanders released his health care plan on Sunday that would transition into a single-payer Medicare-for-all system.
The idea to increase access to health care was good, but there was something noticeably missing for those at Planned Parenthood: any mention of women’s reproductive rights, Schifeling told POLITICO.
"The problem is that by omitting reproductive health and rights, you run the risk of significantly rolling back the progress we've made over the past seven years," Schifeling said. "If you expand Medicare without repealing the Hyde Amendment, millions of women will lose insurance coverage for abortion. And as we've seen with the Affordable Care Act, unless the administration explicitly specifies that birth control must be covered, women may not have access to a full range of birth control and preventive services."
HRC and NARAL also expressed frustration over the comments.
