Apparently it is Bernie Sanders' plan to piss off every high ranking Democrat in California before the primary.

Courtesy of Politico:

Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) sharply criticized Bernie Sanders on Wednesday for lumping her and Jerry Brown into the "establishment" wing of the Democratic Party after the California governor announced the previous day that he, along with Boxer and other high-ranking California lawmakers, would be supporting Hillary Clinton.

"For Bernie to say that Jerry Brown is establishment is kind of the biggest joke of the day," said Boxer, a top Clinton ally in the Senate. She made her remarks in an interview on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" while promoting her latest book, "The Art of Tough."

Sanders on Tuesday told reporters that he has "taken on the entire Democratic establishment" in each state that he has contested in the primary process.

"It’s not surprising to me that, you know, we will have the Democratic establishment supporting Hillary Clinton," Sanders said Tuesday, according to the Sacramento Bee. "I like Jerry Brown, but people can make their own choices.”

What in the actual fuck?

Calling Governor "Moonbeam" part of the establishment is almost unbelievable.

How does he expect to woo ANY super delegates while he is bitching about the "Democratic establishment?"  Where does he think the super delegates come from?

At this point it seems that Sanders is acting like a spoiled child, and since he cannot win the nomination is simply willing to pour gasoline all over the process and light a match.

And his actions appear to be having a rather negative impact on his followers who more and more are threatening to take their ball and go home.

Courtesy of CNN:

Three words are hanging over the final days of the Democratic presidential race: Bernie or bust.

"When you say Bernie or bust, that means if we don't get Bernie, we're just not going to automatically vote for the demon because you're saying the devil may be there," said Billy Taylor, who is organizing a coalition of Bernie Sanders supporters to protest at the Democratic convention here in July.

Sanders has inspired a movement, but it's unclear whether he can control it. Or if he wants to.

Jesus, what a mess.

The Sanders supporters have even started to go after Elizabeth Warren after news leaked that she is likely going to endorse Hillary after the final primary in California.

Speaking of that California primary, it may not be quite as tight as the polls are predicting.
Oh well, it's almost over folks.

Just keep a happy thought until the end of July.

You know, I am so tired of these campaigns driven by anger. It's a circular anger it feeds on itself, spiralling ever downward and dragging us all with it.

I hope people watched the PBS special "Questions for President Obama." It was great. He is great. I am so going to miss him.

Fuck Bernie, no one forced him to join the Democratic Party ( and many of us wish he wouldn't have). It is so obvious he only joined to use the party that he rails against weekly. Fuck that establishment career politician socialist/communist.
And as far as his "movement" I doubt any true Dmocrats give a shit about him anymore.
I will be a delegate in Philly and could care less if his Bernie Bro paid protesters protest. And good luck to the protesting Bernie losers on getting any hotel rooms in Philly, I suppose they will have to file a lawsuit because all the decent rooms are already reserved and no one held their hands and told them ahead of time that they would have to make hotel reservations.

    2. Fernand Amandi just talked about that on the radio 5 minutes ago. He has a radio show on right-leaning radio in our South Florida market. I like him, he's pretty normal, not rabid right-wing. But he was practically salivating over that poll (which Nate Silver at 538.com does say is a historically reliable source) and, I'm sure for the benefit of his audience, said "Can you imagine if Hillary Clinton loses to Bernie Sanders in California?".

I'm not foolish enough to say it CAN'T happen. But it's really, really, really, really, really, really unlikely. Heck, add one more 'really'.

Sanders will do well if he closely approaches 50% in CA, and that would get him about 237 or 238 more delegates.

But that would also mean Hillary would get 237 or 238 and that alone puts her, not Sanders, within easy striking distance of winning the majority of pledged delegates:

      Clinton 1771+237 = 2008
      Sanders 1499+238 = 1737

The magic PD number is 4051÷2 meaning whoever hits 2026 first bags the majority.

Clinton would only need 18 more delegates. Sanders would need 289.

      There are 781 left, CA has the lion's share, 475. (781-475 = 306.)

So even if Bernie gets half of CA's delegates on Tuesday, he'd need 94.5% of all the other delegates to win.

Bernie can't just win CA, he has to crush CA, and that's what I do not see happening.

"Among those who have already voted in CA, Clinton leads 58%-41% in NBC/WSJ/Marist poll"

That has been true in almost every state that has early or mail-in voting. Including Indiana and WV. Which shows you can't conclude the outcome based on early voting. It's chicken counting just like counting superdelegates despite the DNC asking folks to stop:
Luis Miranda: "NOT YET! Because they are not actually voting & they are likely to change their mind."

Well it must be obvious to everyone the Only reason Bernie changed his political affiliation to democrat was because he knew it was his only shot at winning the nomination. His obvious lack of respect for 99%,of the "establishment" which he includes democrats is a bit staggering. What I am hearing from Bernie is that only he and the handful of his endorsements are to be trusted. In that case if he were the president what would he do? Hunker down in the Oval Office writing out pink slips for the thousands of people who work in the senate and congress? Thousands including assistants and pages and interns etc.

Bernie has shown us by switching to D only to use the party name to run for president that he can justify any means to achieve his goals. If he truly believed in his revolution I still believe he should have run as the Independent he has always been and then he could have railed against the other two parties as much as he wanted to. His bending of the rules to make a run smacks of exactly what he says he is against.

Oh and he was happy to use the rule that allowed him to switch parties to run for the nomination now wasn't he? Funny how the only good rules are the ones he wants to use and the only good politicians are the ones who endorse him.

Must be all sparkly rainbows in his world.

You are correct. We Independents do not appreciate that Bernie jumped into bed with one of the Establishment parties. We don't support Establishment politics and his becoming "part of the problem" is a real turn off.

We realize that the two-party system is broken, we realize that it represents nothing but a quid pro quo system of Government for the rich and by the rich. Bernie can't change that from inside by running within a party that does not support him nor whose "ideals" does he support.

Change needed to come from a strong Independent candidate, the one that Bernie could have been, the one that, while still not winning the presidency, would have garnered just as many supporters and donations and kept true to what we, as Independents, believe in.

What we can do now is truly represent citizen democracy and write his name in, these are real votes, not some Electoral College member doing your voting for you, but real votes. The only way to actually make your vote count and your voice heard.

@7:05: Let's say about 100 million votes are cast in the November election. How many write-in votes for Bernie? Maybe a few hundred thousand? How is that going to make your vote count and your voice heard? Oh, let's say Bernie write-ins total a few million? Maybe just enough to ensure that Trump wins. Again, tell me how that makes your vote count and your voice heard?
Politics is the art of compromise -- always has been, and always will be. You Bernie supporters are sincere in your beliefs, but you are totally naive when it comes to changing the system. It's a long, slow process, and requires compromise all along the way. Your best bet is to ensure Hillary wins, and Bernie becomes the thorn in her side to make her veer more to the left. Your future Supreme Court depends on a Democratic win and, has been said to you all many, many times before -- staying home or writing in Bernie's name makes a racist, bigoted, misogynistic, narcissistic would-be dictator whom oth you and the rest of the world despise, your possible President.

It may in fact help swing the election to the GOP so we'll have at least four years of Donald Trump in the White House with god knows who appointed to federal courts and Congress run by the do-nothing-but-harm GOP. I'm sorry that you think the Democratic Party is so beneath you and I simply cannot understand that view from someone who seems to say that he/she is liberal. It might be closer than +18, but Clinton will win it. Betcha!

And even if she loses CA, she will already have clinched the nomination through her victory in New Jersey. CA does not really matter in terms of that; she will still get proportional pledged delegates in CA no matter what, but she will already be the official nominee by then. She will also win DC, the final primary.

      Primary 101

      1. No one "clinches" anything until the convention unless one candidate concedes before the convention.
      2. Neither Clinton nor Sanders will have the 2,383 delegates majority to win before super-delegates vote at the convention.
      3. Even if a candidate were to concede before the convention, no one will be the official nominee until after voting takes place at the convention.
      4. Even Clinton-loving media won't dare call her more than "presumptive".
      5. Folks were saying "She will win Indiana", "She will win Michigan" "She will win West Virginia" , too. Don't count your victories before they're secure.

He should have run as the INDEPENDENT he is if he is that good. But he isn't, so he had to "pretend" to run as a Democrat in order to get this far. So I am not surprised at the rancor and fights he has created thus far.

    2. IS THIS THE FUTURE OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY? On May 12, 2015, the private equity firm Apollo Global Management announced it was unloading the remainder of its stake in Noranda Aluminum. Apollo had gained control of the Tennessee-based company in a 2007 leveraged buyout and had subsequently followed a familiar playbook in the cutthroat world of corporate takeovers: It saddled Noranda with the debt it had used to buy the company and then extracted large dividends. As Noranda struggled to stay solvent, Apollo eventually cashed out of the firm. In early 2016, the debt-riddled aluminum company declared bankruptcy, shut down its largest smelting plant in Missouri, and laid off hundreds of employees.

That same day in 2015 that Apollo disposed of its stake in Noranda, Bill Clinton pocketed $250,000 for a speech to one of its subsidiaries, Apollo Management Holdings.

Donald Trump Is a 2-Year-Old. It’s Time for the Press to Treat Him Like One.

Yesterday during a nationally televised news conference, the Republican presidential nominee experienced a towering meltdown. Reporters asked Donald Trump to account for the millions he claimed to have raised for veterans several months ago. Waving his hands in fury and just a few blinks away from tears, Trump angrily called ABC News reporter Tom Llamas “a sleaze” and other members of the press corps “losers” and “unbelievably dishonest.” He called Jim Acosta of CNN “a real beauty” for his reporting.

The performance was vintage Trump and echoed a basic set of behaviors he has exhibited all campaign long. We’ve seen angry candidates before—Richard Nixon was practiced in scowling and the ebullient Ronald Reagan knew how to fire an irate comment in a debate when he needed to—but this is the first time we’ve seen a candidate assume the psychological and reactive profile of a small child. Trump seethed like an irritable 2-year-old instead of exhibiting the kind of restraint and comity we usually associate with a finalist in the presidential sweepstakes. I’m a big baby, the Trump outburst announced to all, and I’ll just act out until my anger is appeased!

Which is to say, much has changed since Jerry Brown was Governor Moonbeam and BFFs with Linda Rondstadt. In a post-Arnie era, Jerry Brown emerges as a clearly capable governor, one who is popular and about as mainstream as they come. And he clearly has a very good understanding of the situation at hand, as evidenced by his endorsement. I cling to the hope that Californians will do the right thing next Tuesday. As a Nate Silver tweet put it, "She got 55% of the vote and the clear majority of the elected delegates, but let's give it to the 74-year-old white guy!"

He'll drive her to that. I don't want to hear anymore about Donald's parts. But aside from that just what does he really stand for? The wall? Against Muslims? Hate mongering? And Megyn Kelly kinda schooled him a little that if you mess with a strong woman you might get your ass handed to you. He's not done with that shit either. You saw him gritting his teeth during the interview. Megyn was shooting daggers. Some bigwig in the entertainment industry obviously made those two sharks kiss and make up. What does Donald stand for? He's all over the place and he uses tactics to get you off of the subject. It's a ploy I use to get my way, and get people off my ass. Works everytime. What does Donald stand for and how does he plan to implement these plans for a greater America? Aside from the stormtroopers that he's slowly stashing somewhere out there. The crazies are all on board. Reminds me off that Decaprio movie Shutter Island.

No one, including Donald, has any idea of what he stands for. Trump is literally clueless about how government works. I think he's mentally incapable of becoming interested in anything that does not immediately benefit him personally.

One difference between Bernie and Sarah is you can't call him a quitter, and he's worked wonders for snl's ratings. He wants to give free college, well I'm for Hillary, and holding out for some free Cabot Cheddar and real Maple Syrup.
