Bernie Sanders hits a wall, called the Congressional Black Caucus.

What's that you say? You LIKE super delegates?
Courtesy of Politico:

Bernie Sanders is on a crash course with the Congressional Black Caucus.

In a letter sent to both the Sanders and Hillary Clinton campaigns, the CBC is expressing its resolute opposition to two key reforms demanded by Sanders in the run-up to the Democratic convention: abolishing the party’s superdelegate system and opening Democratic primaries up to independents and Republicans.

"The Democratic Members of the Congressional Black Caucus recently voted unanimously to oppose any suggestion or idea to eliminate the category of Unpledged Delegate to the Democratic National Convention (aka Super Delegates) and the creation of uniform open primaries in all states," says the letter, which was obtained by POLITICO. "The Democratic Party benefits from the current system of unpledged delegates to the National Convention by virtue of rules that allow members of the House and Senate to be seated as a delegate without the burdensome necessity of competing against constituents for the honor of representing the state during the nominating process."

Bernie Sanders, meet reality.

You know the thing the Berners need to realize is that there is a very good reason for the existence of the Super delegates.

And that is to keep the political neophytes and the easily manipulated from choosing a candidate who has no chance of victory in a general election.

In other words, it is so the Democrats don't end up with their own version of Donald Trump.

But do you know what? Didn't even need'em this time.

The news keeps getting worse for Republicans as a new Monmouth University poll showed Hillary Clinton cutting into Trump's lead with white voters and holding commanding leads with swing state voters, women, and African-Americans/Latinos/Asians.

The Democratic Party had the "un-pledged delegates" system when Bernie Sanders decided to run for a spot on the Democratic Party ticket. But Bernie Sanders did NOT whine about it UNTIL he started LOSING.

Bernie Sanders can take his "for the good of the party" spiel and shove it where the sun don't shine. He thinks people are too stupid to notice his virtuous interest in changing the rules is solely to benefit his pathetic self.

If Bernie Sanders wants stupid voters, he should have run for the Republican nomination.

A top adviser to Donald Trump resigned Monday after sending a mocking tweet about just-fired campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, a campaign source tells CNN.
Michael Caputo, a Trump adviser and head of the communications for Trump's caucus operations team, tweeted "Ding Dong the witch is dead" following the news that Lewandowski had been fired.

      http://www.cnn.com/2016/06/20/politics/michael-caputo-corey-lewandowski-donald-trump/index.html

At around 9:30 Monday morning, Donald Trump and his adult children gathered for a regular strategy meeting at Trump Tower. Also present were senior staff, including Corey Lewandowski, the campaign's embattled manager. With Trump coming off one of the worst weeks of his campaign — a stretch that included racist attacks on a federal judge, renewed calls in the wake of the Orlando massacre to ban Muslim immigrants, and sinking poll numbers — the candidate's children, who have been involved in strategy from the beginning, saw an opening to achieve a shared goal: Fire Lewandowski.

According to two sources briefed on the events, the meeting was a setup. Shortly after it began, the children peppered Lewandowski with questions, asking him to explain the campaign's lack of infrastructure. "They went through the punch list. 'Where are we with staffing? Where are we with getting the infrastructure built?'" one source explained. Their father grew visibly upset as he heard the list of failures. Finally, he turned to Lewandowski and said, "What's your plan here?"

Lewandowski responded that he wanted to leak Trump's vice-president pick.

And with that, Lewandowski was out.

Dump Trumpers Think They Need Just 57 Votes To Win

There will be 2,472 Republican delegates going to Cleveland for the national convention, with 1,237 needed for a candidate to secure the nomination — but those intent on blocking Donald Trump are focused on a much more manageable number: 57.

That figure is 50 percent plus one of the 112-member Convention Rules Committee, the group with the power to end Trump’s grip on the GOP nomination. A victory there, said the leader of the “Free the Delegates” group on a Sunday night conference call, and it would be all downhill.

“Once it passes Rules … it’s just kind of an easy sell,” said Kendal Unruh, a delegate from Colorado, who predicted that with the committee’s approval, winning over a majority of the full convention would be easy. “They’re not going to be putting up strong resistance to this.”

"Donald Trump’s sons visited the company’s New Hampshire factory to tout their father’s pro-gun bona fides. Sig Sauer clearly sees a brighter future stateside than in Europe: The company abruptly slashed jobs in Germany the same year German authorities began their investigation and is still languishing under an export ban following its alleged illegal trades. It also faces criminal charges in Germany for illegal weapons export after one of its guns was used to murder 12 people, including a human rights worker, in Mexico."
Two years ago, German authorities launched an investigation into the company’s possible violation of EU laws restricting the export of arms to conflict zones. Sig Sauer was allegedly shipping German-made guns through America, then onto conflict zones in Iraq, Colombia, and Kazakhstan to work around the EU law.

People who are important party leaders have a right to have a say in the outcome. Has Bernie Sanders withdrawn his super delegate status in Vermont? And what party is that - the milk cows of Vermont?

And, as I've written here previously, only registered Democrats should vote in a Democratic primary and only Republicans should vote in the Republican primary. Independents who prize their isolation so greatly can vote in the general election.

And Bernie Sanders needs to end this now.

I so agree, especially about closed primaries! If people are so interested in the outcome of a Democratic primary, they can jolly well register as Democratic voters. Otherwise, the opportunities for shenanigans by those with ulterior motives are just too great. The general election is open to all, but our primary should not be made a free-for-all. And that is at it should be. Sorry, Bernie...

12:49, you are so right. And there have been plenty of shenanigans since that Gore win that ended up going for Bush. So many voters have had their voting rights assaulted by tactics such as fewer voting locations and IDs and so on, and then along came the Supreme Court to take away part of the Voting Rights Act. We thought the lines were long last time and the time before, but they could be much worse this time with all the shady stuff that's going on. The Congressional Black Caucus has always rocked.

The charge that Bernie Sanders’ followers are trying to make stick is at once an easy and confounding one, because while there can be little doubt that the DNC has had a clear preference for Hillary all along, the fact that she has been winning all along makes them only guilty of having a preference for winning. Whether they have acted unfairly on that preference is a separate matter, one which this alleged memo fails to substantiate.

It’s possible that some other document may surface to demonstrate whatever it is Sanders fans think this one does, but this one, if it’s real, is simply a recognition of reality. Unfortunately, that’s in short supply in Bernieland.

    Dear Bernie Darling,
Lets just clarify for a moment.
    1. The Delegates and Super Delegates are responsible for choosing a candidate from the Democratic Party that most closely follows their views, those of their constituents, is most likely garner a Democratic NOMINATION endorsement for the GENERAL election which would hopefully win the race for the next president. Let me repeat that "CHOOSING a candidate for the General Election.
    2. If Democrats opened up this party vote to all citizens Republicans and Independents etc, etc. that would virtually BE the General Election, and I might add an extreme clusterfuck. Like it or not the parties have every right to choose their own representative candidate for the general election...even Independents! The primary system has it's issues but was put into place for choosing who best to support. The Republicans have their own system for doing the same thing.
The GENERAL election is when it is open to all individuals to vote for whom they feel will be the best president. So scream all you want, this is currently how the Democrats do their primaries and you KNEW this going in and it only bothers you when you are losing.
If you would like to see this change fine, but it isn't going to happen on this cycle which is in full swing and you're going to have to get that through your thick whining foot-stomping skull.
Personally I would love to see changes in these primary systems. Cleaning up the cumbersome multi-state regulations for individuals casting party votes in the primaries. But right now I would like to see a time standard set for candidates jumping parties to gain a distinct political advantages during which a record of their previous voting and support patterns are established and reviewed.
You are not, and probably never will be a democrat and you've become a spoiler to the Democratic Party process which is unconscionable after they graciously let you run on their ticket, with their base, when you felt you could not win representing your "own" Independent Party. The worst part is you had no intention of supporting the Democratic Party from the get go and it's showing.
As Captain Hook would say "Bad Form Bernie, Bad Form"

Well said. Sanders profited in the Michigan primary from Republicans and "independents" voting for him. He should not have been able to. It's up to Democrats to choose their candidate. if independents want to choose a candidate, they should form a political party and enter the process. Republicans have the right and duty to choose their own candidate. They should do so. But neither of these two groups should try to sabotage the Democratic Party's primary.

6:46, you may wish to look up the meaning and intent of the word REPUBLIC. People of your ilk always seem to fail to recognize that this country is NOT a democracy, but, rather, a REPUBLIC.

In a republic, the GOVERNMENT is RESPONSIBLE for protecting and assisting the little guys against the BIG guys, despite the overall voting. That's to keep the little guys from losing the rights we all share under the Constitution. That includes the poor as well as the minorities who would be - and HAVE been - routinely denied their rights due to the larger groups.

And, seemingly, from people like you.

      E. Pluribus Unum. Out of many, One. That was the motto of this country for nearly two centuries - until a bunch of idiots decided to change it in the '40's to In God We Trust.

If we still had the original motto, maybe the idea of government helping the less fortunate would be a little more obvious to people who would like to see the old and the sick and the less fortunate die. People like you apparently.

Try to remember one thing: Something could happen to you ten minutes after you leave your computer and you would be in need of help, too!

Do you claim to be a christian? If so, think about the teachings of the person you supposedly worship. Then try to live by them, which most atheists and agnostics do, but for different reasons.
