Four year old boy fatally shoots himself in the face with unattended firearm. But hey, that's the cost of freedom in America.

Courtesy of KWWL:

The Fayette County Sheriff's office confirms a four-year-old boy dies after accidentally shooting himself Friday.

This happened at a home in Elgin.

According to reports, the boy's mom and two children were visiting a friend at the Elgin home.

The Fayette County Sheriff, Marty Fisher, says the four-year-old, as well as a younger child, were left inside while the mother and friend stepped outside.

This is when the gun was fired.

Locals in Elgin tell KWWL the boy's mother and friend did not have cell phones, forcing the mother to run and find help.

Don't have cell phones, but they have a gun. Priorities.

As of this post there have been 269 children under the age of eleven killed or wounded by firearms so far this year.  There have been 6,309 deaths overall, and 12,955 injuries.

So how many home invasions have been stopped by guns again?

I guess, if we cannot get legislation that bans assault weapons, there's no hope for legislation anywhere that makes the adults responsible when children harm themselves or others with loaded guns they find easily accessible? I hope that John McCain and the others members of Congress who receive the NRA largesse stop being able to sleep at night.

Don't forget that 300 million Americans barricaded in their homes, armed to the gills is what it will take to stop ISIS from coming over and killing us all.

NRA says this was a case where ISIS terrorist attacked the house and shot the child. The kid the was hero and shot at them before he was hit.

We need to arm all four year old kids to help fight ISIS.

When it's your time to go, it's your time to go. Who are we to interfere with the mysterious Will of The Creator? This youngster at least had the privilege to live four glorious years in our exceptional nation where we have the God-given freedom to own as many firearms as we desire! Sure the occasional firearms oopsie is unfortunate. But our prayers and thoughts do go out to the little boy's family. It's literally the least we can do.

God bless America! and God bless the Second Amendment (which is really our *FIRST* AMENDMENT!!) Remember, you can always make a new baby but every gun is a precious gift from God.

Until this affects gun enthusiasts personally, this carnage will continue. Shame on those who have lost a child in this manner and do not speak up to congress to change the laws. I feel no sympathy for any of the adults involved here.

Even the picture with this post disturbs me. I'll even bet that the adults "stepped outside" to smoke a joint or cigarette. Like you said, "priorities."
It's also typical of some men that they have to have their penis extender nearby in order to feel secure. Someone should make a poster of pictures of the children killed by unsecured guns with the title "Killed By The Second Amendment."

Are you kidding? The pictures of the Sandy Hook 1st graders did nothing to sway the NRA paid for GOP to do a damn thing to make America safer.
The only saving grace is that the kids killed in homes with guns are inevitably children of Republicans. You'd think they'd care about the future voters, but they do not.

Yes, make a composite poster of all the killed children - but one with the blood all over, side by side with their smiling faces before the fatal bullet found their little bodies!

The Palin kids (Dakota Meyer, Jordan Loewe) can afford to hire nannies to watch the young ones when the guns are all over protecting paranoids on their properties. These stories remind me of Track, Jordan, Dakota and Bristol. Sarah Palins leadership and family.

  7. I'd be happy with confiscating every single gun in the U.S.

Then we can start the application process.

    1. You need to spend time in a country where guns are prohibited. Add to that having armed men enter your home in the middle of the night.

Our democratic representatives in the House are making history tonight regarding gun control laws by engaging in a sit-in. Paul Ryan is in panic mode.

This is what this country needs. Political enthusiasm for what is right.

  9. This is an example of parental irresponsibility and they should be charged with child endangerment. This is not about having a gun in the home. In Alaska, many people own firearms and keep them secured (locked up and away from kids). In the cases where this is not practiced we hear and see children who are unattended with access to guns. It is misleading to suggest the gun is the issue in these cases. It is the parent or adult who owns the weapon, that is accountable.

The gun can not always be locked up and never will be. People like you you learn the hard way and think it will never happen to them.

Actually 3:04, most law abiding gun owners will not 'learn the hard way' or have anything of the sort happen their entire lifetime of gun ownership.

Walk down the wrong street in any big democratically controlled city in America however, and your chances of encountering violence greatly increase.

It's just the obvious next step in post-natal abortion after the kid is too old for the hot car routine.

The democratic senators are having a sit in, you know, like the good old days when we had revolutions, Speaker of the house Ryan exited stage right and in a hurry even, Liz is there, Pelosi, etc because we couldn't get even one law up for vote.
The NRA excuse will be... accident... haven't the parents suffered enough.... shit happens.... they can always have another kid... etc etc etc.
The gun owner, in this case, should be held responsible. Just my opinion.
