Mass shooting at gay nightclub in Florida. Multiple fatalities. Update!

Courtesy of CNN:

Approximately 20 people are dead inside Pulse nightclub, Orlando Police Chief John Mina said Sunday morning, just hours after a shooter opened fire in the club. At least 42 people have been transported for medical treatment, he said.

Police have shot and killed the gunman, Mina told reporters.

"It's appears he was organized and well-prepared," the chief said, adding that the shooter had an assault-type weapon, a handgun and "some type of (other) device on him." Orlando authorities said they consider the violence an act of domestic terror. The FBI is involved.

The shooting began around 2 a.m., and an officer responded, Mina said. The officer engaged in a shootout outside the club, after which the gunman ran into the club.

"That turned into a hostage situation," Mina said. Authorities were getting calls from people inside the club but away from the gunman, the chief said.

More police rushed to the scene and broke down a door with an armored vehicle, helping some 30 clubgoers flee to safety, Mina said. At that point police shot and killed the gunman, he said.

The suspect has been identified as Omar Mateen though that seems to be all the authorities know about him right now.

This is still an ongoing investigation so it has not yet been determined if this was an act of international terrorism, a  hate crime, or simply some lunatic who decided to kill a bunch of people because he was bored and had access to an assault rifle.

Since this was a gay club there is of course the strong possibility that this individual targeted the club for that reason, but since the investigation is ongoing there is no definitive proof as to the motive.

Of course Donald Trump is ready to jump to conclusions.
Here is some amateur video taken by a witness. In it you can hear the number of shots fired, and see the dead and wounded being tended to on the street outside of the nightclub.

Update: We are now learning that the number of dead has reached 50, with 53 injured.

  1. Anonymous6:06 AM

People are saying it happened to be Latino night at the club.

  2. Anonymous6:19 AM

What is in the water in Orlando? Two days and two shootings that make it to national media. Many shootings in Orlando. Not many are a big deal for the news media.

  3. Anonymous6:36 AM

    Another day in America...

    1. Anonymous11:45 AM

So, which will the bigots decide they hate more, Muslims or gays? The Lt. Gov of Texas already said it was retribution for mocking God, so it's clear who he hates more.

    2. Anonymous3:59 PM

Muslims or gays. In that case they are for equality. 'Let Allah Sort It Out' 'Let Allah Shoot It Out'

  4. Anonymous6:46 AM

Now it's 50 dead, 53 wounded. Shooter dead. Horrible.

    1. Anonymous7:20 AM

Orlando terror attack is deadliest US mass shooting in modern history

    2. Anonymous7:27 AM

horribly tragic and so many people gone and injured - it is unimaginable. hearts go out to all who knew these people and the community.

    3. The Guardian calls it like it is: terrorism, whether foreign or domestic. Yes.

    4. It IS terrorism, and at the same time also a hate crime, because it targeted a specific group of people (gays, and potentially hispaics, if the above mention is correct that it was 'Latino night' at the club).

    5. Anonymous10:59 AM

Well, this is going to put a damper on the Tony Awards and celebrations tonight.

  5. Anonymous6:52 AM

  6. Anonymous7:10 AM

Of course the pee pond is blaming Islam with shouts of "jihadi!" Mateen's father told NBC News, "this has nothing to do with religion." His son got angry when he saw two men kissing in Miami a couple of months ago and thinks that may be related to the shooting.

  7. Anonymous7:11 AM

The right wing have already declared it to be an Islamic terrorist attack, which will guarantee that (a) Trump has secured the gay vote, (b) the state of Florida will unanimously vote for Trump and (c) the world will finally see that Trump is "keeping us safe", and Hillary "doesn't care" about gays. How they will reconcile all this to their rumored dislike of gays and people of colors other than white remains to be seen, in view of the fact that this horrific event took place in a gay club, and many of the attendees appear to be non-white... oh wait, blame Obama - that'll cover all the bases.

    1. Anonymous7:40 AM

The right wing have already declared it to be an Islamic terrorist attack, which will guarantee that (a) Trump has secured the gay vote,
THEY ALWAYS DO! SO THEIR PRECIOUS ASSAULT GUNS DON'T GET BANNED AGAIN! In what "world" would Trump "secure" THE GAY VOTE? Wrong time for snark....

    2. The foreign terrorist attack will be much greater and less specific before November to ensure the GOP win. THIS terrorist attack was homegrown, as usual.

@7:11 "How they will reconcile all this to their rumored dislike of gays and people of colors other than white..."? How else: blood libel and blame the victims, who didn't have (enough, whatever) guns.

    3. Anonymous8:16 AM

Fox has already blamed the entire event on Obama, claiming it's due to Obama's lax policies about Muslims.

Whaaaaaat?????? This shooter was an American citizen, a security guard, and licensed to carry firearms. Florida is a gun-loving state, and the man broke no laws before opening fire. In the words of the NRA, he was a 'law-abiding citizen'.

The real question that should be asked is, why was an FBI agent (wearing a red shirt) in the night club BEFORE the shooting – and what, if any, relationship did he have with the shooter prior to the event?????? Is/was this just one more government-instigated (without Obama's knowledge, surely) event at the hands of rogue government agents??? THAT is the angle of the story that should receive the most scrutiny, but that will surely be brushed under the rug.

Another essential question to ask is whether people shot by Muslims in America are really more dead than people shot by angry white right-wing extremists. Because the obvious answer is no, why are both types of murder treated so extremely differently???? Why are mass murders committed by white men always described by entirely different catch words, couched in different agendas, coupled with an entirely different set of emotions, and urged to be punished differently??? The motives in both cases are exactly the same: murder.

It's astounding to watch the gay-hating righties fall all over themselves as they pontificate over this incident. These same individuals are obviously unmoved about all the (non-Moslem-instigated) murders, homicides, and suicides (over 100,000 per YEAR!) that are a direct result of their beloved firearms and Second Amendment policies – the very same policies that resulted in last night's Orlando massacre.

    4. Anonymous9:23 AM

      Great comment Anonymous8:16 AM
well when they can't make the Muslim terroist fly they will spin as "False flag" for Hillary to get elected for some nonsense, to dispel he was a H8 with a GUN!

    5. Anonymous11:00 AM

One could almost believe it was a set up by the repugs.....
      Yep. A convenient false flag.
Particularly interesting is a comment under the video linked above to youtube. An eyewitness is commenting that the guy in the red white and blue t shirt who was interviewed on CNN as a civilian, is actually an fbi agent who was working the scene with the FBI. The only person in regular clothes who was allowed in a staging area.
So, he is wither an off duty fbi agent helping out but wishing to stay anonymous because he was in a gay club, or he knew the attack was coming and was undercover, or this is a false flag.
Looking back on 9/11 there were many fbi or cia agents or planted actors who gave the narrative that was supposed to be given to the media. I recall one in particular who as soon as first tower came down was on news getting the hot jet fire story that caused the steel to collapse.
      Bullshit bullshit.
      Wake the fuck up people.
      We are being manipulated.
Next up: ZIKA virus terror the closer we get to the election, like we had ebola before the last election or midterms.
      SOOO fucking over this shit.

    6. Anonymous11:02 AM

Glad to see others are connecting the dots about the fbi agent who was already at the site.
      mk ultra??

    7. Anonymous12:36 PM

As expected, the liberal IMers are performing impressive gymnastic flips once again, pointing fingers and placing blame in all directions except for the harsh truth right in front of your faces that this is islamic terrorism.

    8. Anonymous4:09 PM

Whether it is Islamic or Christian terrorists why do US laws make it so easy for any terrorist to buy assault weapons and ammo?

Don't you know you have many terrorists?

Why make it so easy for any and all terrorists to have assault weapons?

    9. Anonymous4:31 PM

Dick Cheaty funds these ISIS folks - get it right the first time! He can't play WAR so this (ISIS) is the closet thing to it! $$$

    10. Anonymous7:56 PM

Yeah nice try 4:09, but really lets be honest here. The muslims are the problem.

  8. Leland7:12 AM

And, of course, Humpty Trumpty has deliberately left his statement concerning "possible terrorism" completely open to allow his idiot followers to automatically assume it is Jihadist terrorism. Probably just to fan the flames of Islamophobia to help him into the White House.

    Sick bastard.

    1. Anonymous7:28 AM

If you read any comments on the news articles, the flames are out of control. We are in for an ugly future, I'm afraid

    2. Anonymous7:42 AM

IT's terrorism. DOMESTIC terrorism of the hate crime variety. A nut case goes off because he doesn't think gay people are human so he kills and injures over 100 of "them" and scaring the shit out of the rest of us. THAT is terrorism...

    3. Leland8:23 AM

7:42, I agree with you. I was merely saying that while CNN specifically stated the police are investigating DOMESTIC terrorism (per the above article) , Humpty Trumpty left it open to inflame his followers and gain more haters.

    4. Anonymous8:28 AM

"IT's terrorism. DOMESTIC terrorism of the hate crime variety."

EXACTLY DOMESTIC terrorism. Something like could happen to a Christian soldier like say Track Palin with his arsenal. Lucky he only takes to terrorizing girlfriends so far.

Dakota Meyer will be all over this. Taunting ISIS to come to his home so he can never outgun them.

Bristol can be thankful he has no radical tendencies and unresolved PTSD issues. He is just the kind of man she wants around her children. I can already hear her gushing about how he protects his family and what a wonderful father he is. You know, a wonderful father like she would write about Track Palin.

    5. Anonymous10:08 AM

Can you Palin obsessed people remember for just one post that this not about Sarah and her tribe? Your obsession is really stupid and annoying.

    6. Anonymous1:48 PM

Well, 10:08: Bar$tool HAS chimed in on her pathetic blog. Maybe co-wrtitten by DumbkotAh, since he is the one linking to it on his flakebook account.

    7. Anonymous1:51 PM

10:08 AM In your fantasy... Try and remember this is where the truths or no truths of Palin are observed along with any and all connections to her Republican honkies, like drumpf.

In fact this is also for all Palin questions and possibilities. Some are wondering if she has any relevancy left.

Why is she so quite on issues and things that matter to dummpf?

He could use some support from his females. He claims they love him so much, he is the greatest for women and all that.

So Palin just quits on him?

I doubt it. He kicked her to the curb. What happened to her being a big wig with the NRA? Aren't the big meanies coming to take her weapons from her?

She better get on the issues or she is a quitter again.

I hope they take Track's guns away and she has to find another sucker to take care of all her assault weapons, rifles and pistols.

Why does one little family living in the far away forest need so much arsenal? If they do need it why can't they learn to be better stewards?

Who in their right mind leaves a drunk violent immature sick person to oversee all those weapons?

    8. Anonymous4:22 PM

Interesting to hear what his the shooter's ex-wife had to say. She knew him 7-8 years ago. They were married for a few months. For her perspective he was mentally ill, took steroids and was violent.

She was fortunate that her family was looking out for her and got her a way from him and a divorce.

  10. This is devastating . . . .

As to the terrorism. Anyone with a social, religious or political agenda who murders people for that agenda is a terrorist. The problem in this country is there is a cadre of stupid Americans who don't understand that a terrorist's name can be Duane and Dylan as readily as Abdul.

These are also people who ususally just love them some 2nd Amendment 'cause they just know if they were there they would have gotten----whoever and not killed more innocent people.

When a crazy white dude shoots a building up in this country the media calls them disgruntled or mentally ill. They become terrorists or thugs if they are brown or Muslim. But it is always lost in the carnage that whatever the reason----the gun laws in this country are effing insane.

    1. Anonymous8:04 AM

Gun laws are made by fucking insane people called lawmakers.

    2. Anonymous8:21 AM

Angela at 5:15 AM, times a million. What does the media – and the public – not 'get' about the fact that, dead is dead??????? People are no deader when shot by a Moslem or by a Moslem gay-hater than they are when shot by a white man or a white gay-hater, period.

    3. Anonymous2:58 PM

Gun laws? You mean the 2nd Amendment?

You mean part of our Bill of Rights, which guaranteed greater constitutional protection for individual liberties.

  11. A. J. Billings7:18 AM

Assuming the killer was an Islamic terrorist, this is just one more episode where religous fanatic followers cause war, murder rape, and oppression.

Religions are like an ebola infection on the human race, causing untold suffering, guilt, depression, delusion, and sadness.

Courtesy of religion, parents in Idaho can let their diabetic chilren die of neglect, and not get prosecuted.

Courtesy of religion, Indiana has jailed a woman who had a MISCARRIAGE, and is now serving 15-20.
Yes, she panicked, and put the dead baby in a dumpster, but the evidence states the baby was dead within seconds of being born..

Courtesy of religion, (read up on history) and the combined stupidity of the USA, England, and Russia, the entire Mid-east is embroiled in wars, and Muslims are even killing each other over minor doctrinal differences.

Courtesy of religion, millions of evangelicals are about to vote for a 3 time adulterer narcissistic idiot named Trump.

The election this fall is important, and we cannot allow that vicious bigot named DrumpF to be elected, so get behind Hillary, in spite of all her flaws.

    1. Anonymous8:04 AM

He could have been a jilted lover or any number of situations. Nothing to do with radical extremists, a lone wolf or an angry person with any number of issues. Combinations of madness that drove him to target this club and mow down 50 strangers (?) to die. It will be interesting to find out his religious experience and how he was effected whatever his motives and madness.

    2. Preachin' to the choir, Mr. Billings, but well said.
If that POS gets elected, no matter what country the rest of us live in, we're screwed.

One Canadian woman isn't worried. She said to me: " fuckin' way that Trump is gonna tell ME what to do, I'M CATHOLIC!"

There are stupid religious people here in Canada, too. But at least we have separation of church and state and a Prime Minister who lives in the 21st century. His cabinet has gender parity because, he told a reported, "It's 2016." End of answer.

Still, with dual citizenship, I am grieving for my birth country. See no good end in sight, yet.

    1. Anonymous7:50 AM

Sarah Palin's last post June 9 at 12:10 pm. It is hard to believe she is not backing up Trump with her 2 cents on F_book . Did she lose all her relevancy with Trump?

Republicans are not going to hesitate and wait for facts. They know how they want the worst mass shooting story to go. They are determined to be in control.

Senator Jeff Sessions reacted to the deadly Orlando shooting on Fox News Sunday this morning by issuing a dire warning about potential future attacks.

    2. Anonymous7:56 AM

He's getting butt handed to him in replies.

    3. Anonymous8:25 AM

Anonymous 7:50 AM, the irony of all this is that, even if Trump or any other GOPster were to 'win' the White House, because of the gun policies they worship, the lawlessness they encourage, and their total inability to govern, mass shootings would probably be far worse under such an administration than under a Hillary administration.

He has to be the only leader that matters. If he can't live up to that, he will put on a show and attract more idiots that live in fear and want to believe he is the only one that can save them.

    This is horrific.

    1. Right on. (Through my tears.) (And my gritted teeth. We CAN get these weapons out of our society.)

    2. A. J. Billings8:37 AM

Requirements to get a pistol in the USA:
Be 18 and have no felony convictions.

Requirements to get a pistol in Japan
To get a gun in Japan, first, you have to attend an all-day class and pass a written test, which are held only once per month.

You also must take and pass a shooting range class.

Then, head over to a hospital for a mental test and drug test (Japan is unusual in that potential gun owners must affirmatively prove their mental fitness), which you’ll file with the police.

Finally, pass a rigorous background check for any criminal record or association with criminal or extremist groups, and you will be the proud new owner of your shotgun or air rifle.

Just don’t forget to provide police with documentation on the specific location of the gun in your home, as well as the ammo, both of which must be locked and stored separately.

And remember to have the police inspect the gun once per year and to re-take the class and exam every three years.

    3. Anonymous10:24 AM

What are the gun death statistics in Japan?

All I disagree with is having the gun and ammo locked up separately, except if there are children in the home. As the victim of a home invasion at 3 a.m., I want my gun loaded and where I can reach it at all times.

As a leader in the world of NRA, guns and rights they are an example of how guns and ammunition should be handled at home.

Dakota Meyer was also honest about how he rolls.

  18. Anonymous8:13 AM

I made the mistake of reading some comments on one of the news websites.

As expected, there are simultaneous outcries that:

    1. We are NOT allowed to even hint at possibly limiting access to weapons that can kill large numbers of people in minutes because it's JUST TOO SOON and we would be exploiting a terrible tragedy.

    2. We should immediately begin closing our borders and banning all Muslims from entering this country, and put all the Muslims already here on watchlists (if we can't throw them out of the country altogether) because it's obviously a case of Islamic terrorism.

And they see absolutely no conflict between these two demands. Stunningly ignorant.

    1. Anonymous11:02 AM

Yeah, just imagine the combination of rightie ineptness (and political vindictiveness) and the government's dinosaur-age mainframe computers being able to even keep such a data base accurately – assuming that it did not trample all over the US Constitution (guaranteeing its overturning by the federal courts) in the first place.

  22. GOP blaming the victims

  23. Anonymous8:46 AM

Unbelievable. No doubt Trump and the NRA are getting a serious hard on about the prospect of arming every American citizen (except the darker ones) with an assault rifle. Because it's in the Constitution!

Giving more people guns will result in more shootings, not less. And the majority of these shootings will be impulsive suicides & homicides, plus a good deal of accidents that are entirely preventable.

Our Constitution and the founding fathers were mostly decent and had great ideas. But when science and technology changes, we have to update our laws to change with it.

If you want to play with guns that are used by the military, join up.

If you can't or won't, I have an idea: Strictly regulate high power weapons that were designed to kill people. I'm not a gun fan, but I know plenty who like them and target shoot. I don't want to destroy their hobby.

But we could compromise & make it safer. We could let only shooting ranges own assault rifles & the like.

Customers come to the range and check out their weapon of choice, If new or inexperienced, an employee helps them & teaches them safety rules. When the customer is finished, they return the assault rifle to the range.

    This is common sense.

    1. Anonymous9:11 AM

"Destroy their hobby?" Gee, not enough to shoot at targets with regular rifles? They can only get it up when they can explode the target?
I have nephews who spent their pre-marriage evenings sitting on their porch int he country blowing up rabbits. They both have kids now, and I fear for their safety, with such 'mature' young men in their lives. No one needs a military weapon. Period.

They call them assault weapons for a very good reason. The fact that they are legal boggles my mind.

    1. Anonymous9:06 AM

You can thank Dubya for that. He lifted the ban in 2004 that President Clinton put in place ten years prior.

  25. I hope to God Skanky Palin keeps her piehole closed about this.

    1. Anonymous10:05 AM

Sarah has a big job on her plate to make certain her combat vet is able to keep his assault weapons and for him to carry concealed. Remember he has to live at her house, until he is rewarded with his own house.

Who watches all Sarah's arsenal if Track can't be her guardian for all those weapons?

I can't imagine she would want to bring attention to her family and their infamy regarding guns and violence.

She would do her spiel if Trump tells her to go at it. I don't see how that can help him, he may see it different.

Dakota is the one to deal with guns, ISIS and all that. Now that he is a father, it will all be out of his concerns for his baby and family. He must protect them.

    2. Anonymous10:40 AM

No you don't. You can't wait for Palin to say something so you can put your 2 cents of hate in, as if you are any more helpful.

    1. Anonymous11:10 AM

Wackenhut is an extreme rightie. Would bet the farm he's an avid Trump backer. Almost makes you wonder if the shooter was 'set up' emotionally, encouraged, what the talk was at his place of work, etc. Am convinced there is a powerful story (and probably many more than one) behind this story. People don't just do these things 'out of the blue'.

Rapid-fire high-capacity weapons in the hands of "responsible gun owners" is still their epitaph.

Twitter Ignites Over TX Lt. Gov’s ‘Reap What You Sow’ Post After Orlando

    1. Anonymous12:01 PM

His office is claiming that it was one of his regularly scheduled tweets/FB posts that he sends out every Sunday morning and it was actually written last Thursday for automatic posting this morning. However...

I just read this comment on another site:

"Actually if you go through his twitter feed EVERY OTHER Sunday prescheduled tweet starts with the caption "Have a Blessed Sunday". In fact there is another tweet that has that caption that appeared on his feed this morning. That was the scheduled Sunday tweet. He is lying about that and it is pretty obvious if you take an objective look at it."

  29. Anonymous9:40 AM

"Really bad." It figures. The small list of words he always uses to qualify somethi g is so embarrassing.

Well, as far as the terrorism aspect goes, at least this time he didn't swear that it was absolutely terrorism, that no one could tell him it wasn't.

Romans 1:32, written by a converted Pharisee named Paul of Tarsus:

"Although they (gays) know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death".

Quran (7:80-84) - "...For ye practice your lusts on men in preference to women: ye are indeed a people transgressing beyond bounds

Since the Quran and the Protestant bible says that gays deserve death, Muslims and CHristians should have no problem approving this atrocity.

    1. Anonymous10:22 AM

Jesus never mentioned homosexuality once. "I give you a new commandment; love your neighbor as yourself."

  31. ANYBODY: If you can take an hour out of your busy schedule either today or in the next few days, PLEASE DONATE BLOOD!!! ESPECIALLY if you have type O+ or O-!!!

O+ and O- are universal donors, i.e. your blood can be given to all other blood types. But victims who are O+ or O- can only receive O+ or O-.

I just hope, that THIS will FINALLY get these assault weapons off the street. The ex-cop used the same type like the guy at the Sandy Hooks shooting.
But, I guess, I am realistic, and the next few days and even weeks will see an enormous run on assault weapons. The NRA will be so happy!

    1. Anonymous11:13 AM

It's just not enough to get rid of assault or semi-automatic weapons. We need to get rid of the huge clips. There is no reason on earth for any civilian to own clips holding more than 10 bullets, period. Big clips are useless for hunting animals (because they will run away after the first bullet is fired), and can only be used to slaughter humans in large numbers.

Sen. Jeff Sessions Warns: More ‘Islamic Extremism’ Attacks Are Coming

    1. Anonymous11:15 AM

The extreme armed righties have heard loads of dog whistles, and not only from Trump. They know (or certainly believe) that with a sufficient number of provoked mass attacks they can create the kind of social chaos that would play right into the GOP's hands.

  33. Anonymous10:45 AM

I am a 47 year old gay man in Austin TX. I have not been scared of my safety in a really long time. Now I am. Not only do I live in a gun-happy state, but my Lt gov thinks I deserve it. No leader should be happy about death.

I was wrong. bra$tool/Brancy already posted on her pathetic pathoeos account. DumbkotAh linked to it, and I refuse to go there. (Wonder, if Brancy still writes there, or if maybe DumbkotAh wrote it, together with Bar$tool.)

    1. Anonymous2:17 PM

It is not Barstool who is writing, but she owns that crap.

Remember when Sarah ignored Bristol's fetus when she was going to give birth to a bastard?

It is hard to be more cruel or hateful than to deny, ignore and fail to mention someones existence.

The French only mentions the families of the dead and injured from the biggest mass shooting in US history.

      What does that silence say?

Why not mention those victims? She mentions the victim from social media that was shot on Friday.

  35. Anonymous11:04 AM

The victims and their family and friends are who matter most, of course.

This said, among other things I'm wondering about the killer is about his job as a security person at a facility for juvenile delinquents. I have to wonder how he was on the job and what his records there have in them. He also had a violent marriage that lasted only a few months and the wife's family took her out of the home.
As well, he seems to have posted a number of selfies and they look posed as if he thought of himself as hot. Of all the other things she could have said about him, his ex-wife said he was committed to working out. So far, there's been no word on a romantic/domestic relationship since his divorce (he does, though, have a three-year-old child). For all his very recent so-called religious statements, he sounds like someone full of himself and I imagine there will be a number of stories about him coming out soon.

  36. Anonymous11:11 AM

His father said that the killer wasn't motivated by religion but what he had seen of two men kissing. He expressed his sympathy for the victims. The father sounded completely in the dark about any political leanings in his son. And yet it says online that the father once ran for president of Afghanistan and also expressed his support of the Taliban. He's on YouTube making what appear to be political speeches (which I don't know the words of). He has a non-profit in his name (I don't know what it's for yet). The father and rest of the family may be very happy now living in the US as they do, but it does seem--seem--that the father is showing a side of himself and the family that may not be quite accurate. We'll see in due time.

Not really buying that Bristol wrote this.

Why didn't that post get tagged with "fecking ghost writer is back!"?

Sarah did mention the victims. The blog writer prays for the families of the victims. Then Sarah points out: "The solution to these Islamic attacks that would hurl us toward transforming into an intensely frightened, cowering nation? NO, it is not more "gun control" that further strips us of the responsibility and means to protect the innocent."

Has she ever written about Christian terrorism?

  40. Anonymous2:32 PM

As long as the NRA has bought and paid for the GOP, this is going to be a regular occurrence in the USA. I am sure the NRA will come out with a statement, if the nightclub goers had been armed this would have not happened.

I image The Donald will be busy on twitter with more crap about banning Muslims.

As long as the "right" to bear assault weapons is more important than humans, this will continue.

  41. Randall3:18 PM

Conservatives are very torn over this...
on the one hand, the largest mass-shooting in our country's history very well may be a terrorist attack - on Obama's watch!
...but, how did a terrorist get his hands on an assault rifle and other firearms so easily unless gun laws are just too lax?
Truly - it is a dilemma.

    1. Anonymous3:38 PM

      Conservatives are not torn.

"In the wake of a mass shooting in Orlando on Sunday, counterterrorism expert Sebastian Gorka opined to Fox News that it was pointless to try to prevent terrorists from obtaining gun permits because they could use Ford F-150 trucks as weapons. "

  42. Anita Winecooler4:32 PM

It seems there's no end to the bad and good in humanity. My nephew and his husband live in a gay friendly section of Philadelphia. People didn't know what to do to console each other, they had blood drives, memorials, moments of silence and lots of tears. He said they sat on their balcony and wept for those lost and wounded, but they refuse to move, or the killer wins.

    Speaking of inhumane scumbags,

  43. Anonymous4:40 PM

I do agree with Trump that we should curtail the Muslim folks trying to immigrate here. There needs to be a litmus test as we're full up of crazy christians already and the last thing we need is another fundamentally crazy bunch of religious people adding to the problems we already have from the christians.

I think we need to shut down our borders for a bit and really do lengthy background checks on anyone that is attempting to enter here, much less live here. A few decades of that will stop the madness and just leave us with the crazy fundy christians, who are dying out, which have been around forever, but one terroristic group of religious fanatics is more than enough for one country to deal with.

    1. Anonymous5:35 PM

I buy a "Christian"y looking bible. I dress in "Christian"y looking clothes. I burble "Christian"y phrases like "Reap what you sow". I hate on gay people getting wedding cakes from unwilling bakers. I cuddle a squishy fetus.

And I waltz into your safe little US of A and blow away a bunch of Christian kindergarten children in New Town.

Or, of course, I could just be like Adam Lanza and blow the kiddies away. Because "securing the borders" does diddly squat about the supply of rapid fire, high capacity weapons in the hands of "responsible gun owners" in this country.

  44. Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick tweeted a picture " Do not be decived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows" just after the shooting in Florida. He quickly deleted the tweet after he had a backlash.

  45. James Wesley Howell was arrested in California. He was on his way to LA Pride Festival. He had 3 assault rifles, ammunition, and 5 gallon bucket with chemicals that could be used to create an explosive device.
