MSNBC seems to be laboring under the delusion that Sarah Palin's new gig as a reality TV judge could make her millions. Hah!

So get this from MSNBC:

According to TMZ, producers for a long-rumored new reality court show have lobbied to trademark “Palin Rules” as its title. The program, which will be in the same mold as “Judge Judy,” “People’s Court” and “Judge Joe Brown,” was first reported on back in March, with the show’s producer Larry Lyttle pledging that the former 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee will preside over “the courtroom of common sense.”

Okay so that's all relatively factual and we covered that here yesterday.

Here is where MSNBC goes off the rails:

This is certainly not the first time a Palin has dipped their toe in the reality show genre. She hosted “Sarah Palin’s America” for two years on TLC, headlined “Amazing America With Sarah Palin” for the Sportsman Channel, and later launched an ill-fated subscription channel largely devoted to her political screeds and daily life. Her daughter Bristol has broken out as a reality star in her own right, with a high profile stint on “Dancing With the Stars” as well as a Lifetime series – “Life’s a Tripp” – which last just one season.

Still, her stint as a TV judge could prove to be her most ambitious and lucrative foray into entertainment to date. If “Judge Judy” is the model, Palin could become a millionaire many times over. Currently, that show’s star – Judy Scheindlin – is earning upwards of $40 million a year, making her the 43rd highest paid celebrity in America according to Forbes. And Celebrity Net Worth reports that Scheindlin is worth a total of $250 million.

Okay so first MSNBC lists off all of Palin's failed attempts to start a successful franchise, which of course includes the fact that she was unable to renew her contract with Fox News, and then it goes on to suggest that this time she could somehow become just as successful as the very qualified and entertaining Judge Judy.

Which begs the question, "In what universe could that happen?"

Not only is Palin uniquely unqualified to render a legal judgement on anything, after all she has been sued over copyright infringement, her family was involved in a brawl which required a police response, and her son is currently facing a court case over domestic abuse, but she also demonstrates no ability to hold an audience past the first couple of episodes with any of her attempts to break into TV.

Sure a number of folks will tune in to the premiere just in the hopes of seeing her crash and burn, but if that does not happen and instead it becomes as routinely boring as her internet channel, reality show, and Facebook page, that audience will disappear as quickly as political candidates requesting her endorsement.

Remember that as of right now, NO networks have even demonstrated an interest in this program, much less offering to pay her millions of dollars.

MSM"bigger problem with the MSM normalizing him is that they are also normalizing the values he purveys — the anger and violence, the racism, sexism, nativism, misogyny, the ignorance and the hatred of the democratic process. Throughout modern history, these were generally, and rightfully, considered shameful."

The fact that they are applying for a trademark means nothing, they cost $175 or something like that. The application I'm sure is intended to give the impression this show is moving forward for whoever has funded this nonsense, as well as an eager press who will run anything with her name on it.

IF this program ever gets off the ground, there will be a double-fronted consumer boycott. First, the program itself will be boycotted by viewers (there won't be enough to keep it on the air). Second, the advertisers themselves will be boycotted (and they will discontinue their sponsorship – IF in fact any or enough advertisers can be found to float this albatross in the first place).

I may be in the minority, but I think Sarah might have found her niche. She will never be taken serious again, so she might make it as a stupid bumbling "judge" on reality tv. As long as it's for fun and it keeps her far far away from politics, I'm ok with it. Ps, I will never watch it.

I agree. Look at ex-mayor, Jerry Springer and once respected Maury Povich. If Palin "mediates" the train wreck disputes, with over the top opponents, it could draw in the viewers who love trash TV and as well as the Palin cult faithful. I am rooting for it, as it will permanently destroy Palin's political credibility with any remaining idiots.

I seriously doubt it will be a congenial niche for more than 30 seconds. Even a bogus reality tee vee show is a J-O-B that would require Palin to show up on a regular basis, do her homework, look presentable, and speak in complete sentences for whole minutes at a time. How long does anyone imagine she would last, even presupposing the show ever airs?

It meant pleading guilty to at least one charge and he would have to go to some kind of rehab facility for treatment. The last thing that I read was that Track didn't want to do that. Does he think that his mother has enough influence to get him off? There are a number of serious charges, and I doubt if he can get away with a warning. I think that he has had a number of warnings and this time, he is over the limit.

Then, Sarah would have to read the ruling, and she can't read and process the information. Sarah can't give a speech without looking through her notebook. She pages through looking for the topic sentences and it all comes out garbled. There is no way that anyone could take this seriously.

Most judges have law degrees and often years of experience working as attorneys. Currently, about 40 states allow non-lawyers to hold limited-jurisdiction judgeships at the municipal and state level.

I remember when the Peepond denied the Alaska reality show. Then they approved of Palin doing a "documentary show" about AK. Initially most were aghast that their next POTUS, Palin, would do a reality show. The show was not a documentary. I laughed when the Palin's "camped" with the Gosslin family of eight. Two reality show families camping for ratings!

Calm down. She hasn't even made a pilot yet. Can you imagine how bad even that will be? Yikes. Then, the producers have to find someone from a network to even look at the pilot and like it before it is even in the early stages of acceptance. Even if some fool likes the pilot, it would have to find sponsors and then find a place in the schedule.

Lots can and probably will go on until that happens. The other judge shows are popular because the judges have personality and they are able to throw out some good lines. Even if she is working off a script, Sarah can't deliver. Her facial contortions and screechy voice will cause another failure.

    Regarding 9:30's comment below.
Track's lawyer went to Palmer Court House last week (before Memorial day weekend) and told the judge that Track was going to appear this Tuesday at the Anchorage Veterans Court to have it settled there. Track was to have made an appearance yesterday (Tuesday) at the AVC. My guess is that the Courtview records (below) shows that Track (and or lawyer?) is scheduled to appear at the Palmer Court House again on June 16, 2016. That June date may have been scheduled by the judge to hear about what happened on Tuesday at the AVC. That is if Track showed up.

Who knows, Judge Sarah may have pardoned Track? Just kidding about the pardon

    ????????

I only watched Judge Judy's show once. It was time wasting. Sarah's dry voice would kill me if I had to hear it. I mean it. That dry old woman voice trying to chastise someone dumb enough to be on that show would deserve that as punishment enough. On T.V. you don't have to be a real doctor, judge, or anyone. People watch T.V. and just believe what they are fed anymore. Even the internet is like that. People are looking for that ultimate buzz, and don't know if Sarah has it in her to do that with that smirk and raspy holier than thou voice. Now, Donald, there's a clown that can hold one's attention. If he doesn't win the presidency, maybe he can do a show like that. That would be funny to watch. As long as it is not real. Right now it's real, so not funny.
