Online gun store claims it sold 30,000 AR-15 semi automatic rifles in seven day period following shooting in Orlando.

Courtesy of the Independent:

An online gun store based in the United States sold more than 30,000 AR-15 semi-automatic rifles in one seven-day period.

Hunter's Warehouse, based in Bellevue, Pennsylvania, claims that since the killing of 49 people in the Orlando nightclub shooting, the AR-15 - or Armalite Rifle - has proved popular with buyers.

A semi-automatic relation of the military M-16 assault rifle, the AR-15 is strikingly similar to the weapons used in the mass shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School, San Bernadino Inland Regional Centre and Pulse nightclub in Orlando.

Keep in mind this is 30,000 MORE military style semi-automatic weapons added to the millions and millions already in homes all over the country.

Millions and millions of guns, capable of firing billions and billions of bullets.

Just another example of how the 2nd Amendment makes us feel safe walking the streets of America.

There is not one good reason for owning an assault style weapon - not one. The insanity continues and the US doesn't have the guts to do one little thing to deal with their massive (and growing) second amendment problem.

This is your reality and it's heartbreaking - http://www.cnn.com/2016/06/21/health/child-gun-lockdown-picture-trnd/

If a hunter used that weapon on a deer, the poor animal would be completely obliterated. "Hunter's Warehouse" my foot.

Those that are apathetic because this hasn't "affected them" are going to shit their pants going forward when it happens in their town, to their people.

Don't you see? The GOP has rigged redistricting and curbed voting rights so they CAN'T be voted out.

Heaven help us all!! Those weapons should be illegal to be bought and sold in the U.S. They are meant for only one thing. MASS MURDER!

What is wrong with the Republican politicians, why do they think it is OKay for these weapons of mass murder to be in the hands of civilians?

My fellow Democrats, we have to get the vote out in November, and get as many of these Repubs out of office as we possibly can.

If I leaved in the DC area I would be right there at the Capitol supporting the House Democrats in their sit-in. I am so proud of our elected Democrats. They are always fighting for the people.
Let's take back the Senate and the House, Democrats.
The Repubs have done nothing for many years, but collect a large paycheck, and give the people the finger.

I know. I wrote that to my GOP newspaper the other day...pretty sad when I am afraid to bike in my mostly white, totally conservative hometown because some moron might be cleaning his 'unloaded' arsenal in his garage and shoot me.

Enough of this Individual Rights under the Second Amendment fairy tale, I wish the families of the victims would ban together and sue the hell out of the NRA as a terrorist organization.

Online gun store, with background checks, yeah right.

How many of those 30,000 assault rifles went into the hands of terrorists?
Oh, that's right ...there's no way to check.

What does an AR-15 cost? I own several guns that I inherited but I haven't gone shopping at the local gun shop lately.

For what it's worth we fellow IMers kind of live in the echo chamber here where we get to hear our side of the argument all the time. If you can get CSPAN on your TV you should go over there and hear all the counter arguments to what we hear. I could only take about 10 minutes of it but there are many citizens out there who don't even want a discussion on guns. And one caller said it was insane to call it gun violence because we don't call it drug violence etc. I guess the one positive about CSPAN is the "moderator" (wow! what a boring job and it seems like they hire the most vanilla person to moderate) just sits there, takes the call, lets the caller make his/her point and then calls on the next person to deposit their pov.

Odd, I don't feel any more safe than I did before these guns were sold. Why is that?

I would take that report of ONE store selling 30,000 AR-15s in a few days with a chunk of salt. Come on, that's enough for two Infantry Divisions.

Here's another reason: Back when I was an inkstained wretch, I knew some guys who ran a gun store and shooting range. When the 1992 Los Angeles riots broke out, one of the guys called me at the paper and claimed that he was suddenly selling guns and ammunition like crazy. This, in a small city in....Florida? I called a few other gun stores and they all told me there was no such surge in sales, which was what I figured, and I ignored the matter. It souns like Hunter's Whore...uh, WAREhouse is trying to tooteth it's own horn.

I saw a short interview on CNN tonight with Rep. Debbie Dingell who has lived with domestic violence as a child and some Republican who kept trying to turn the conversation back to battling terrorism and how the President is doing such a bad job because he won't use the right scary words.

What infuriated me was that he had the balls to imply that radical Islamic terrorism is the only problem when he's on the same program as a woman who almost lost her life to a deranged father with a gun. NONE of them will address the problems of gun deaths related to domestic violence, gang wars, accidental shootings (with far too many of those resulting in the deaths of children) and suicide.

As scary as Islamic terrorism is, it causes a tiny fraction of the deaths that occur EVERY DAY from those other causes!!!
