Online gun store claims it sold 30,000 AR-15 semi automatic rifles in seven day period following shooting in Orlando.

An online gun store based in the United States sold more than 30,000 AR-15 semi-automatic rifles in one seven-day period. 

Hunter's Warehouse, based in Bellevue, Pennsylvania, claims that since the killing of 49 people in the Orlando nightclub shooting, the AR-15 - or Armalite Rifle - has proved popular with buyers. 

A semi-automatic relation of the military M-16 assault rifle, the AR-15 is strikingly similar to the weapons used in the mass shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School, San Bernadino Inland Regional Centre and Pulse nightclub in Orlando.

Keep in mind this is 30,000 MORE military style semi-automatic weapons added to the millions and millions already in homes all over the country.

Millions and millions of guns, capable of firing billions and billions of bullets.

Just another example of how the 2nd Amendment makes us feel safe walking the streets of America.

Ohio gun shop owner shot and killed while teaching a gun safety course.

Authorities say the owner of an Ohio gun shop who was teaching a concealed carry class was fatally shot in the neck by a student who accidentally fired a weapon. 

The (Cincinnati) Enquirer reported that the shop owner, 64-year-old James Baker, was shot on Saturday while students practiced weapon malfunction drills. 

The Clermont County sheriff’s office said about 10 people were taking the class at the time at KayJay Gun Shop in Monroe Township, about 25 miles south-east of Cincinnati. 

Baker died at the scene. The student who fired the weapon was not immediately identified. 

According to the gun shop’s website, the concealed carry class included basic pistol safety instruction, shooting range sessions and a review of Ohio gun laws.

I will assume that this student failed the course. But hey, at least he survived it.

Sorry to be so flip, but anybody who thinks that owning a gun keeps them safe does not really understand guns.

Guns end lives, they do not protect lives.

If you want to be safe you keep guns as far away from yourself and your family as possible, install some good locks on the doors and windows, if you are really concerned install an alarm system, and then to top it all off get a good dog.

There, now you infinitely safer than you would be with a gun in your house.

Sure it's a lot less macho than waving around a firearm at every bump in the night, but it is a hell of a lot better than going to jail for shooting somebody in a drunken rage or attending the funeral of a loved one who was accidentally killed by your totally inadequate safety measure.

Wisconsin gun shop pays one million dollars to end lawsuit over straw purchase that wounded two Milwaukee police officers.

A Wisconsin gun shop will pay $1 million to settle a lawsuit in which a jury found it negligently sold a gun used to injure two Milwaukee police officers, the store's attorney said. 

The settlement eliminates what was expected to be a yearslong appeal of an October verdict in which jurors awarded Officer Bryan Norberg and former Officer Graham Kunisch nearly $6 million.

 An attorney for Badger Guns, James Vogts, told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel late Friday that the case has "been settled and dismissed." 

"This case is over," Vogts said. He declined to say why his client decided not to appeal.

This, this is what needs to happen all over the country in order to hold gun stores accountable for the deaths they enable due to straw purchases and poor background checks.

And this should be something that the Right Wing wants as well.

Remember straw purchases were how those San Bernardino shooters got their weapons as well.

The line was out the door at a San Bernardino, California, gun shop Sunday morning, just one mile down the road from the Inland Regional Center, where two armed shooters shot dozens of San Bernardino County employees. 

Several shoppers spoke to ABC News on their way into Turner's Outdoorsman, including Ben Reynolds, of Runyon Springs, California, who said he was there buying his first weapon. 

"It hit a little close to home," he said. "It can happen anywhere, and this just shows it." 

Reynolds said he would consider buying an assault rifle.

 Another man told ABC News he was thinking about buying one for "protection -- that's it." He said he was concerned about people invading his home. 

Buster Mitchell, who lives 12 miles away from the Inland Regional Center, said the shooting was "too close to home." Mitchell owns seven guns and said he was at the gun shop for supplies.

This is why the NRA fucking LOVES mass shootings.

Because while most Americans are horrified by the shootings and believe that there are WAY too many guns in this country, there is a certain demographic convinced that all they need to do in order to ensure their safety is buy one more gun.

The FBI runs background checks before customers can purchase a gun, and according to a report from the FBI, the week following the Sandy Hook massacre in 2012 was the busiest week ever. 

Upticks were also reported after the 2011 Tuscon shooting and the Charleston church shooting earlier this year.

We are a truly ignorant people. 

Oklahoma man accidentally shoots himself while "guarding" a Muslim free gun shop. "It's like the Clampetts have come to town."

The Muskogee County sheriff said a member of the group guarding an Oktaha gun shop accidentally shot himself Tuesday. 

Sheriff Charles Pearson said the man dropped his gun and a bullet hit him in the arm. The sheriff did not identify the man or offer any other details about what happened. 

The group of armed citizens and veterans is standing guard outside the Save Yourself Survival and Tactical Gear store after the owners said they received death threats from all over the world for putting up a sign saying Muslims weren't welcome. 

"I saw several of those gentlemen out there yesterday," Pearson said. "The way they were holding their weapons, with the fingers on the triggers, you can tell a couple of these gentlemen have no idea about weapons safety. It's like the Clampetts have come to town," Sheriff Pearson told muskogeenow.com.

One of the armed men took offense at the Sheriff's remarks:  

One of those volunteers, who claimed to be a combat veteran and would identify himself only as “Eagle One,” disputed the sheriff’s characterization of the volunteers. 

“Don’t paint us as ignorant hillbillies,” he said. “We just believe in people’s constitutional rights, and we’re here to make sure they get them.”

Yeah how can we call them hillbillies with an awesome moniker like "Eagle One?"  I mean that just screams "Respect my authority."

FBI says that Dylann Roof should never have been able to purchase the gun he used to murder nine people in South Carolina.

The FBI said Friday that the man accused of killing nine African American parishioners at a historically black church in Charleston should not have been able to purchase a gun. 

Officials said a background check failure allowed Dylann Roof to illegally purchase a .45-caliber Glock handgun on April 11, eight days after he turned 21, at Shooter's Choice in West Columbia, South Carolina . Roof had previously acknowledged drug possession, according to the FBI. 

Law enforcement officials had previously said the transaction was entirely legal, despite his pending drug charge. The weapon was purchased at the gun store which is 25 miles from his home. 

FBI director James B. Comey called that assessment "a mistake in a matter of heartbreaking importance".

It is important to note that if Roof's admission that he was in possession of illegal drugs had been forwarded to the FBI then federally mandated background checks would have discovered it and kept Roof from getting his hands on the gun that he used to murder nine innocent people in their own church.

In other words background checks DO work.

(There were earlier reports from Roof's uncle that he received the gun used in these attacks as a gift, but that was a false statement.)

Of course the argument will now be made that there are other ways of getting a gun that do not require background checks, such as gun shows for instance, but all that proves is that we need stricter gun control laws that cover any and all purchases of firearms.

The fact is that Dylann Roof was able to kill those people, on that day, with that weapon, because there was information not given to the FBI that would have prevented it.

Everything else is conjecture.

Trailer full of automatic weapons and machine guns stolen from Indianapolis gun store. Oh goody!

 A trailer containing high-powered weapons and 20,000 rounds of ammunition was stolen from an Indianapolis gun store over the weekend. 

According to Metro Police and ATF investigators, the guns were sitting in a trailer behind Profire Arms and Supply in the 7300 block of Rockville Road on the city's west side. 

The owner told police that the theft was discovered Saturday about 8:30 a.m. He also told detectives the trailer was locked and he is the only person who had a key. The trailer contained M16 automatic rifles, AK47s, several machine guns, several submachine guns, an automatic UZI, and an Ohio Ordinance 249 belt-fed machine gun. Several handguns, shotguns and rifles, as well as silencers were inside. Police estimated the total value of all the firearms to be $225,000. 

Now before anybody panics remember that guns don't kill people, people kill people...usually with guns.

Wait, what's the other gun dealer saying?

Don Davis, who has sold guns for more than 40 years at another Indy gun store, called the stolen firearms "weapons of war."

"These things are dangerous. These guns you're talking about here, you touch them (and it's) bang, bang, bang, until they run out," Davis said. 

Oookay, so I guess now would be a good time to panic. 

Hell who needs to worry about background checks, when gun stores leave  trailers simply bulging with military style weapons just sitting unprotected behind their buildings?

Gosh isn't living in America great?
