So apparently Donald Trump is paying a the fictional ad company on the TV show Mad Men for "web advertising." Wait, what?

NOT a real advertsing
Courtesy of Mediaite:

In their most recent FEC filing, the Donald Trump campaign revealed that they paid $35,000 to an ad agency that, by all appearances, doesn’t actually exist.

Think Progress’ Judd Legum caught the odd detail when poring over Trump’s financial statements.

Draper Sterling is the name of the ad agency in AMC’s Mad Men. But Legum is right; Trump’s financial filings show that he made several payments to Draper Sterling in April of this year for web advertising.

Apparently the address for this fictional company is just a hop, skip, and a jump from former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski's hometown.

Probably just a coincidence.

Or not.
I kid you not, I literally do not know what to say here.

MarketWatch also notes that it seems that Trump himself is being paid a salary from the campaign, something candidates generally don’t do.

What exactly is a forensic audit?

    1. From Wikipedia:
"Forensic accounting, forensic accountancy or financial forensics is the specialty practice area of accounting that describes engagements that result from actual or anticipated disputes or litigation. "Forensic" means "suitable for use in a court of law", and it is to that standard and potential outcome that forensic accountants generally have to work. Forensic accountants, also referred to as forensic auditors or investigative auditors, often have to give expert evidence at the eventual trial.[1] All of the larger accounting firms, as well as many medium-sized and boutique firms and various Police and Government agencies have specialist forensic accounting departments. Within these groups, there may be further sub-specializations: some forensic accountants may, for example, just specialize in insurance claims, personal injury claims, fraud, Anti-Money Laundering, construction,[2] or royalty audits.[3]"

A forensic audit is used to follow a money trail if there are discrepancies in the books. Very fitting in this circumstance; the same procedure should be used on the crooked palins!!

Trump is giving his speech right now and he is reading it from a teleprompter at one of his properties. It is so obvious the applause he is getting is from paid Trump employees. Sort of like applause or laugh tracks used by TV shows. The room is not big, it has a lot of reporters in it so you hear the same Trump guys leading the "yeah" sounds. Also when he reads from a teleprompter he makes this weird sound when he catches his breath.

  20. Now, it's personal: molesting the memory of my favorite television show.

Don Draper was really Dick Whitman and stole the former fellow's identity - and switched dogtags - when he was killed in Korea. He was a man pretending to be someone he was not. A star in advertising, yes, but always one government or police investigation away from being revealed and prosecuted as a deserter. In one flashback, his dead father says to him, "Look at your hands. Soft as a woman's. You manufacture bullshit."

A good deal of Trump parallel should be obvious.

this story has many legs including that of a former Navy Seal

      Delete
    2. 66gardeners2:50 PM

      former Navy SEAL Paul Holzer
NBC news just picked up the story. It should make the national network national news tonight.

Draper Sterling was only incorporated in March, and the registered agent, according to New Hampshire public records, is a man named Jon Adkins — who separately was paid $3,000 in May for "field consulting" by the Trump campaign.

Another man using Adkins' New Hampshire address, former Navy SEAL Paul Holzer, also pocketed $3,000 for field consulting on the same day, the filing shows.

Holzer and Adkins are listed as co-founders of a Boston-based medical non-profit startup called Xeno Therapeutics, and Holzer has other political connections, having worked on GOP gubernatorial campaigns in Massachusetts and Missouri.

As ThinkProgress reported, Holzer is the brother of Adam McLain, who runs the super-PAC Patriots for America. The super-PAC's filing show it owes more than $56,000 to a firm called — you guessed it — Draper Sterling.

That Draper Sterling is located in Delaware, not New Hampshire, though. Delaware records don't show who runs it, and it's not clear if it's the same entity.

It was charged $10,000, $10,000, $10,000 + $5,000 all on the same day for a total of $35,000. If this was on Corey's card, he will be the fall guy even if he was not involved in the scam.
