So what's going on in the land of Trump? Well quite a lot actually.

Got your popcorn ready?

Okay then let's start.

First there is this courtesy of Real Clear Politics:

Ouch! That's gonna leave a mark!

And then there is this from New York magazine:

The latest Washington Post–ABC News poll finds Trump’s favorability falling 8 points to a piddling 29 percent, while the percentage of Americans holding an unfavorable view of him has increased by 10 to 70 percent.

Gee, I'm just surprised that there are still three out of every ten people in this country who DON'T dislike Donald Trump.

As it turns out a number of the people who don't like him are in his own party.

Courtesy of CNN:

A coalition of Republican delegates is mounting a last-ditch effort to block Donald Trump from obtaining the GOP nomination by pushing for a "conscience clause" that would allow delegates to vote against the presumptive nominee.

Kendal Unruh, a Colorado delegate, organized a call with dozens of other delegates Thursday night to discuss ways to block Trump at the convention. The group, Unruh says, marks the coalescing of disparate "pockets of resistance" -- including backers of Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen. Marco Rubio and Ohio Gov. John Kasich -- which had been opposing Trump with little success.

"This is a coalition of Kasich, Cruz and Rubio (supporters) and we are all agreeing on one goal, which is: Anybody but Trump," Unruh said Friday.

This will probably fail, but the mere fact that there are so many within the party that really despise the Donald is certainly a sign that this convention might be a whole lot more entertaining than we have been led to believe.

But wait, there's more:

-- The chairman of the House Energy and Commerce committee, Fred Upton, said that Trump has “gone off the track.” The Michigan congressman said he has no plans to endorse Trump “or anyone in this race.” “I’m going to stay in my lane,” he said during a radio interview, according to The Detroit News.

-- Richard Armitage, who served as George W. Bush's Deputy Secretary of State, announced he will vote for Clinton. “[Trump] does not appear to be a Republican, he doesn’t appear to want to learn about issues,” he told Politico. “So, I’m going to vote for Mrs. Clinton.”

-- Charles Krauthammer says Trump how shown over the past month that he cannot and will not change. “It’s no accident that Trump’s poll numbers are sliding,” he writes in his column today. Michael Gerson, meanwhile, decries Trump’s flawed character in his column and argues that it is a far worse problem than the first-time candidate's lack of self-discipline.

-- “At this point, I just can’t do it,” John Kasich said on “Morning Joe.” “But we’ll see where it ends up … I’m not making any final decisions yet.”

-- Several more companies have announced this week that they are steering clear of the Republican convention in Cleveland: Wells Fargo, UPS, Motorola, JPMorgan Chase, Ford, and Walgreens Boots Alliance all said they will not be participating despite years of previous support

-- joining Coca-Cola, Microsoft and a host of others refusing to join in Trump’s coronation. (Bloomberg) -- Even Trump’s core supporters are angry with him. Several allies publicly rebuked him yesterday for trying to prevent suspected terrorists from being able to buy guns. Jeff Sessions, Trump's point man on the Hill, declared that congressional Republicans should not take cues from The Donald on the subject. “We’re a co-equal branch of government,” the Alabama senator said.

It's wrong for me to take such pleasure from another person's problems, right?

Well too late.

Now all of that is bad. Really, really bad.

But for my money perhaps the most devastating story concerning Donald Trump that came out this week was not about his political campaign, but rather about his wealth.

And it came from the unlikeliest of sources. Charlie Sheen.

So not only is Donald Trump a TERRIBLE presidential candidate, but he is also a complete fraud. And essentially, according to Charlie Sheen, "Just a bag of dogshit."

Man this popcorn is delicious.

Is Sarah Palin still on Team Trump? Or, as Todd Palin reminds us, "What's in it for us?" Maybe Trump will fly them into to Cleveland? Does anyone want to make any bets?

Trump wants this badly enough that he is being coached according to his negatives, one of which is Sarah Palin.

She and the family just happened to be in San Diego last month which is why they showed up to show support for Trump; no way did he pay for their trip they had business down there for her "Judge" show.

He knows that she is toxic and lost the race for McCain, everyone knows that. He'll have to keep her at bay if he really is serious about seeing this through and winning this thing.

She is the one thing that would be the most negative in a campaign that a lot of people already somehow see as negative.

The disclosure tradition dates to when Spiro Agnew resigned as vice president in 1973 and then plead guilty to a tax crime. President Richard Nixon was an unindicted conspirator in a felony for which his tax lawyer Edward L. Trump hits a Mormon wall

Donald Trump will head to Nevada on Saturday, but some of the most committed local Republicans won’t be rolling out the welcome mat for his Las Vegas rally.

Nevada Mormons, a relatively small but influential bloc within the state party, are struggling to get comfortable with the GOP nominee. And in contrast to previous years — especially 2012, when fellow Mormon Mitt Romney led the Republican ticket — many leaders in the Latter-day Saints community have no interest in activating their extensive networks and grassroots infrastructure on his behalf.

The result: Trump is facing an organizational disadvantage compared to previous GOP candidates, as well as an enthusiasm gap with an important GOP constituency in a key swing state.

Trump is giving broad hints that he should be making money from the media who allegedly had substantial bumps (and profits) from him. He also commented on the current problems between China and Apple and said Apple should pay him because now that he's brought it up publicly, China will probably back down (probably more delusional thinking like his opinion that NATO is listening to him too). He is delusional on a scale not seen since the 1930's imho.

I have thought from the beginning that Trump's motive to enter the race was totally to increase the worth of his brand, which was about to fail. His fortune is way less than stated but he must maintain the illusion to keep the bankruptcies, lawsuits, and plain insolvency from causing his highly leveraged empire from imploding.

What we have learned since he started -- apart from how gullible many angry and know-nothing-and-proud-of-it Americans are -- is that he lies, thinks a deal is a way to cheat others to enrich himself, and is very poorly educated.

As the Sheen clip shows: Trump must have thought Sheen would not realize they were fake; if he realized, he did not think Sheen would tell. But he did.

Jesse, I think you are wise to hold back your major revelation(s) on the Levi/Palin front until we learn whether there will be a Palin presence in any part of the Trump effort. If yes, that would be the time to give it your most interesting shot: in that way, you and Levi would be helping in the effort to reveal Trump as the fraud he is by revealing to the MSM the full depths of fraud of the Palin type.

By the way, it was never clear to me what the exact issues were that led Palin to resign Gov in a hurry. Hope you add clarity to that episode also.

Remember - Sarah did the resignation in a hurry and called for the press to be there.

Even Todd didn't have a clue as to what was going on and had to rush back quickly from his fishing grounds.

People should watch the video of Palin giving her resignation speech! She's truly something to behold! Stressed to the max - deep breathing, etc.!

There have been so many rumors that circulated throughout Alaska as to why she quit!

One thing is for sure - other Republicans in Alaska know the facts as to her quick exit from the capitol City of Juneau! (she's never returned there since leaving!).

I pick Parnell as to being the most knowledgeable Republican to disclose the facts! After all, he did follow her as gov - and, did a horrible job!

Palin received many lucrative offers which she could take advantage by resigning. From her actions she quit to be on tv. The Fox contract paid a million for brief segments from her home. She stayed politically relevant although only capable of commentary.

IMO she may have quit to make millions and her family cash in too.

Mateen was little different from Dylann Roof, who began associating with white supremacists only shortly before he attacked an African-American church in Charleston, South Carolina, exactly a year ago Friday, killing nine.
“It’s the same exact phenomenon,” says John Cohen, who now teaches at the Rutgers School of Criminal Justice.
"it occurs “between the ears of the individual,”

From 1990 to 2014—excluding the mass victims from 9/11 and the Oklahoma City bombing—62 people were killed in 38 ideologically motivated incidents committed by extremists associated with Islamist terrorists while four times that many, 245, were killed by far-right extremists in 177 ideologically motivated incidents. There have been, in other words, a lot more Dylann Roofs than Omar Mateens.

A great idea, and the Kochs could make it happen with the stroke of a pen, if it did not gall them too much to do it.

But I think Trump's financial problems are way bigger than $150M, and the check would have to be a lot bigger. Maybe if the Kochs teamed up with some of their pals? But how to overcome the really upsetting thought that they are giving all that money so The Donald can save face and get away with it? Maybe a secret deal that The Donald would retire to a remote part of the world and shut up forever? Not sure the Trumpster is capable of that.

He explained to Stephen Colbert that this is his way of teaching kids what to do if they end up in the presence of a wild Trump.

    http://www.mediaite.com/tv/comedian-michael-ian-black-has-written-a-book-to-explain-trump-to-children/

Donald Trump has taken a hit in national polls, with several this month showing him trailing Hillary Clinton, but the presumptive Republican presidential nominee says it isn't a big deal.

"I’m four down in one poll, three and a half in another that just came out, and I haven’t started yet," he told the New York Times Thursday night.

"And I have tremendous Republican support," he added. "Unfortunately they never talk about that, they talk about the few rebels."

In a handful of polls released in June, Clinton has maintained a lead over Trump, despite his dominance during the Republican primary.

The beasty is called an American Trump.
Its skin is bright orange, its figure is plump.
Its fur so complex you might get enveloped.
Its hands though are, sadly, underdeveloped.

The Trump is a curious creature, very often spotted in the wild, but confounding to our youngest citizens. A business mogul, reality TV host, and now…political candidate? Kids (and let’s be honest many adults) might have difficulty discerning just what this thing that’s been dominating news coverage this election cycle is. Could he actually be real? Are those…words coming out of his mouth? Why are his hands so tiny? And perhaps most importantly, what on earth do you do when you encounter an American Trump?

With his signature wit and a classic picture book style, comedian Michael Ian Black introduces those unfamiliar with the Americus Trumpus to his distinguishing features and his mystifying campaign for world domination…sorry…President of the United States.

Something that doesn't seem to get much attention is that the first day of the Repugnant convention is the day set for the court to hand down rulings in Chump's case, re: Chump U. Most are just defense motions, but the biggie is whether or not to allow RICO charges to move forward. By the middle of the convention, Chump could well be under indictment for operating a criminal enterprise (other than his campaign for POTUS). That just seems too easy a way to let the Repugs off the hook - I'd rather see him survive the convention with the nomination before he's indicted, ensuring the Repugs get the full fu##in' mess they've worked so hard for so long to create for themselves.

His whole campaign is smoke and mirrors. He lacks the cash by a billion to self fund and is completely oblivious to what it is to be POTUS. Voting for Trump is akin to voting for a freeway off ramp panhandler wearing a Chinese knockoff suit.

      ^THIS.
His primary campaign strategy involved saying outrageous things and totally dominating the news cycle, day in and day out. In a 16-horse race, it worked.
In a 2-horse general election, not so much. Welcome to the real world, little Donny.

This Is Why Bernie Isn’t Endorsing Hillary Clinton Yet

Bernie is being left behind. Already no one is talking about him.

We don't need a revolution anyway. We need Democrats to show up to vote in every election.

I don't endorse Hillary either, so what? Bernie can be an independent thinker just like a lot of us are.

My parents and most of my extended family are Trump supporters. They want a person in office that will protect what they worked hard for and not give it away to a bunch of shiftless welfare food stamp types that have "work allergies", and believe me, here in AK there are so many people on the public dole that it makes one ill. At least welfare/ebt are capped at 5 years now, perhaps Trump would cap them at 1 year though and put our tax dollars towards more important things.

I haven't decided yet but have usually voted for the Libertarian.

It is nice to live in a country where we have choices!

Your family is voting for Trump because they hate the welfare folk?

Well what about Trump, he is supposedly a billionaire, but pays NO TAXES. Talk about welfare.

3:34, it is quite obvious that you have never stared poverty in the face. I wish that for you now so you can know what it like to walk in shoes of the poor.

Wow Caroll, that's really mean, but from what I've read from you here it's to be expected.

You see Caroll, when my parents had children, they planned our conceptions and arrivals, they prepared financially for having a family, by investing their money and saving when possible.

They invested money to pay for our college experience and put aside money to help us in our adult lives, should we require it.

Those "poverty" stricken folks that you speak of tend not to plan their lives but just let life happen to them, thus, they're never very well prepared to take care of themselves.

But thanks for the sentiment Caroll, rest assured, it ain't gonna happen, my parents made sure of that, as all parents should do.

Wow 612, that's really callous, but from what I've seen of Trump supporters it's to be expected.
You see, 612, you've enjoyed advantages your entire life that other people just don't have. You've also clearly never been hit with the kind of downsizing pressures that have pushed so many out of the middle class in recent decades. Ain't ever going to happen to you, 612? Okay, then, bully for you. I'd ask what you have to say to the millions of kids who don't grow up with the kind of advantages that you had, or to the millions of adults who did all the right things and still got slammed by global forces, but if I asked a question you might actually answer, and I've heard enough from you for one lifetime.
But thanks for the sentiment, 612.

Epic downfall: Trump is slowly losing the GOP, but the GOP has already lost the country

There is no easy way for Republicans to circumnavigate the Trump problem. You have a pathological racist leading the ticket, a man with no fidelity to anyone but himself.

You could tell what was really eating at Trump was less concerns about a full venue than the Republican insurgency he is now facing as Republicans increasingly realize how much trouble they are in with Trump at the helm.
