So yesterday Paul Ryan swallowed the last shreds of his dignity and sorta kinda endorsed Donald Trump. Yeah, like you didn't know this was going to happen.

Courtesy of CNN:

House Speaker Paul Ryan on Thursday said he's voting for presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump.

In an op-ed for the Janesville Gazette of Janesville, Wisconsin, Ryan -- who sparked a political firestorm last month when he told CNN's Jake Tapper he was "just not ready" to back his party's nominee -- says he is now convinced Trump will advance the Republican agenda.

"I feel confident he would help us turn the ideas in this agenda into laws to help improve people's lives. That's why I'll be voting for him this fall," Ryan wrote.

Later Ryan felt the need to deny that he had made any kind of deal with Trump:

Ryan said the endorsement is not the product of any deal with the billionaire developer. Trump won his endorsement, Ryan said, based on "an understanding of our mutually agreed upon principles." Ryan said he specifically wanted to go over Trump's approach to executive power, judicial appointments, and his position on abortion.

Yeah I think we know what those "mutually agreed upon principles" include. And none of them are good for the country.

I wish I could say I was surprised at how quickly Trump's outspoken critics among the Republican establishment have been brought to heel, but I'm not.

Right now Trump is using Hillary's vote on the resolution to use force in Iraq to attack her, calling the Iraq war one of the biggest blunders in history.

Personally I agree with him on that but the very same Republicans that are now biting their tongues while kissing his giant orange ass were gung-ho to go into Iraq in 2002.

Which means that either they are now in agreement with him, which I doubt, or they are simply too afraid to speak out against him because they fear the lunatic might actually win the presidency.

What was it that Ronald Reagan once said?

"Politics is supposed to be the second-oldest profession. I have come to realize that it bears a very close resemblance to the first."

Yeah, that's it.

What a joke of a pic. She goes fishing for big fish with a ring on. Man, I wish it would have slid off onto the water. And look at how she's holding the fish. She's not using two hands the way anyone else is. She's finding a way to make her left hand cross over and show the ring in the pic. Nothing is ever real and spontaneous and sincere with her. That is the cheesiest forced picture of an engagement message ever.

How did she get Sarah to give it back?

Traditionally, if the bride breaks the engagement she returns the ring to the fiancee. How come that didn't happen. (Yes, we all speculate that Sarah bought the ring but still. Looks bad.)

That should be $arah kissing The Donald's ass. Both $arah and Ryan made careers based on ass-kissing! However, $arah climbed up the ladder to success, and met Cess himself (or was it Kristol, McCain, Brad, Curtis, Cruz,...); who the fuck knows...

Ryan and all his gop colleagues are afraid of what the donald will say to bully them. They don't know how to respond to him. Hillary is the only one who isn't afraid of trump thanks to decades of dealing with having everything but the kitchen sink thrown at her by the gop. Paul Ryan is such a nothing - it just shows how few leaders are in the gop. They have no ideas - they are just a bunch of golddiggers doing the biding for any billionaire who will cover their campaign costs so they can keep their cushy jobs in DC

But now there's no real need for Marina to stay out of sight. Something happened. Could even be, though, that Marina just got bored. Bristol Palin and all the Palins are dullsville. Mr. Ryan’s endorsement of Trump: A sad day for the GOP — and America

AS DONALD Trump was building a campaign on lies, bigotry, insults, fearmongering and unreason, a few Republican leaders of apparent principle offered some resistance. Foremost among them was House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.). In March, Mr. Ryan insisted that “all of us as leaders can hold ourselves to the highest standards of integrity and decency” and that “we shouldn’t accept ugliness as the norm.”

On Thursday Mr. Ryan capitulated to ugliness. It was a sad day for the speaker, for his party and for all Americans who hoped that some Republican leaders would have the fortitude to put principle over partisanship, job security or the forlorn fantasy that Mr. Trump will advance a traditional GOP agenda.

Explaining his belated endorsement of Mr. Trump in a home-state newspaper, the speaker said that conversations with the presumptive Republican presidential nominee have reassured him. Mr. Trump will help turn House GOP ideas into law, Mr. Ryan said, in a way that a President Hillary Clinton would not.

This is fanciful, as Mr. Ryan must understand. Judging by his wild swings of position over the years, Mr. Trump does not believe in much of anything. The convictions that he does hold — against free trade and U.S. leadership abroad, for dividing the nation by religion and ethnicity — are antithetical to the principles Mr. Ryan has said guide him. Having secured the nomination without Mr. Ryan’s help, a President Trump certainly would not feel bound by any assurances that Mr. Ryan believes he has heard from the candidate.

Rachel Maddow Exposes How Hillary Clinton Destroys Trump In Ways Republicans Couldn’t

Maddow said of Clinton quoting Trump directly in her speech, “This speech today was the best speech yet of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. In part, because I think she likes pressing her case on national security issues for one. But also because it is just rhetorically deadly to be able to take your opponent’s record, not embellish it, not dress it up, not make it seem worse than it is, not round up to the nearest funny thing about it. Just take it as it is, string it together word for word literally, let it speak for itself, and let people respond. It’s hard to do, but when it works, it’s politically deadly.”

The MSNBC host concluded, “If it is a presidential race, then Hillary Clinton really did just step up her campaign significantly, and she did it by tacking him to the wall with his own unadorned statements. It’s really hard to do that in politics, but she did it today over and over and over again. And that kind of assault from a candidate is hard to rebut and hard to beat.”

Hillary Clinton showed that she was a better politician than any of Trump’s primary opponents. The Clinton campaign also revealed that they are superior strategists than the Trump campaign. The reason why Republicans were never able to stop Trump during the primary was that they kept getting drawn into Donald’s world of insults and barbs.

None of the Republican candidates possessed the political skill needed to take Trump’s words and properly use them against him because they were terrified of alienating Trump’s supporters who they are thought that they would need in a general election.

Now, they are bolstered by polls etc. When, in Hitler's days, they saw how determined that lil' fellow was becoming, all the evil ones came out of the woodwork and came forth. Paul Ryan wasn't run by anything good. Just that his kind has to survive above all means. I just don't see why the RNC would fall like nine pins for Trump other than that. Plus, we know, you know, they know, everyone is desperately afraid of Hilary. They are gathering behind their front man Donald who looks a little winded lately. Hillary's speech was so good. The only thing I wished, as far as trashing Trump went, was that she'd made better use of Trump’s lie about Putin and 60 Minutes. He had to admit never having met Putin after lying that they’d talked face-to-face when they both were to appear on 60 minutes. Trump was interviewed at his place in Trump Tower (natch) and Putin was interviewed in Russia. I’d have loved it if Hillary had driven home the fact that Trump had heavily embellished things. And wow, at least when Bush said he could see that Putin was a good man by looking in his eyes, he was talking about having seen him in person.

He rants, raises his voice, appears pissed off, sweats where the sweat droppings on his face can actually be seen dropping off, rambles, repeats and repeats himself, always critical of others, name calls, horribly reactive, out of control, not prepared, has no self control, etc.

He cannot handle the fact he is being proven a liar with regard to his personal and business worlds!

He'd be a horrible POTUS and I'm sure he'll never beat Hillary Clinton. She is so much smarter, more level headed, experienced in government and will nail his fat ass in a debate! And, I bet he'll lose it with her on the debate stage!

Republican leaders react to Trump's latest racist rantings that came 'totally out of left field'

The morning after House Speaker Paul Ryan stuffed his remaining dignity in a sack and threw it into the river, he's supposedly reeling from presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump's ongoing racial tirades against the judge hearing the case against Trump University. Trump's contribution yesterday was the claim that the U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel had an "absolute" conflict of interest in the case because he was "of Mexican heritage."

Attempting to get Republican support by playing the race card?

      Surprise Surprise Surprise.

      Not.

" Lee Atwater explains how Republicans can win the vote of racists without sounding racist themselves:

You start out in 1954 by saying, “Nigger, nigger, nigger.” By 1968 you can’t say “nigger”—that hurts you, backfires. So you say stuff like, uh, forced busing, states’ rights, and all that stuff, and you’re getting so abstract. Now, you’re talking about cutting taxes, and all these things you’re talking about are totally economic things and a byproduct of them is, blacks get hurt worse than whites.… “We want to cut this,” is much more abstract than even the busing thing, uh, and a hell of a lot more abstract than “Nigger, nigger.” "

Exclusive: Lee Atwater’s Infamous 1981 Interview on the Southern Strategy

The forty-two-minute recording, acquired by James Carter IV, confirms Atwater’s incendiary remarks and places them in context.

Putting someone impulsive, brutish, intemperate, megalomaniacal, and lacking any foundation in principle into such an office is just too dangerous. Emergencies at home and abroad arise in every presidency, and a president who grossly underreacts or grossly overreacts would be uniquely catastrophic. This is, in a way, the argument Hillary Clinton made yesterday in her foreign-policy speech in San Diego—and she focused on powers more essential to the presidency than did Ryan’s op-ed did.

Elizabeth Warren takes on Debbie Wasserman-Shultz in payday lending fight

This is probably a fight that Debbie Wasserman-Shultz wishes she hadn’t stepped in on.

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau recently unveiled new rules to curb Payday Lenders abilities to become loan sharks by requiring them (among other measures) to limit on how frequently borrowers can get payday loans as well as requiring that lenders verify that people can repay the money without taking on new debt, avoiding the so-called debt trap.

These new rules didn’t sit well with some Republicans and Florida Republican Rep. Dennis Ross introduced legislation in the House to curb them.

And for some reason DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman-Shultz decided to join them.

  34. My guess is that Trump has said that he plans to delegate all of the hard work Ryan and his ilk in Congress, so they're making nice with him so that they can have free run to destroy everything Obama has done - and more.
Get out there and vote and VOTE DEMOCRAT OR PROGRESSIVE. Getting Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders will mean nothing if the Republicans are still entrenched in Congress.

  35. In the doctor’s office today, I overheard two older ladies discussing Ryan’s “endorsing” Trump (it was on Faux News). These were “good Christian” church-going type ladies, opposed to lying, bragging, cussing, and divorce. Trump’s persona should be so repellant to these kinds of people that they would never consider supporting him.
However, these ladies had both heard, they said, that Trump was a really nice person, that how he is acting as a candidate was just showmanship, and he would be different as president. Besides, what is the option? They both shuddered.

      And there you have it.

There is no reasoning with these people. Facts don't matter. Nothing matters.

He said it. He could kill a person in the middle of the street and wouldn't lose any voters.

      Hillary is no sure thing.

Dakota Meyer and Bristol Palin could care less about Ryan and Trump.

Dakota 'Levi' Meyer soon to announce engagement?

He is back from O'Fallon, MO and halibut fishing with Bristol. 'Life couldn't be better'

Palin Brand is back to the same old publicity shots. Dakota gets some outdoor sporty looks in and he is promoting their ad. Ha!

Is there a military treatment rehab in Missouri? When do we get to hear why they were there for Memorial Day?

Has Sarah posted another flash back? That monster is going to be hell to sell.

When is she going to unload again?

Unload more on Ryan, Sarah. You are so good going after fellow Repubs.

There will be a very long line of Republicans bending over to kiss the ring (Trump's butt).

Love the GIF. I imagine Boehner, in a stupor, a room full of empty beer bottles, so glad he quit when he did. Paul Ryan, all around body builder, failed vp pic for Mitt has just changed butts, but the kiss will always be the same.
This isn't your father's GOP, and it never will be again.
