Joe Biden claims that Bernie Sanders told him that he was going to endorse Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders says not so fast there.

Courtesy of The Hill:

Vice President Biden says Bernie Sanders will endorse his Democratic primary opponent, Hillary Clinton.

"I've talked to Bernie, Bernie's going to endorse her, this is going to work out," Biden said in an interview with NPR's "Weekend Edition" to air Sunday. "The Democrats are coalescing even before this occurs."

The first thing that happened was that a Sanders' spokesman refused to confirm or deny Biden's claim.

The next thing that happened is that Sanders did an interview with Chris Hayes on MSNBC where he was asked about it:

“I talked to Joe, I think it was three weeks ago,” Sanders told MSNBC host Chris Hayes. “On that issue, we are trying to work with Secretary Clinton’s campaign on areas that we can agree on.”

“We are working with the Clinton campaign, trying to be able to come forward and say to my supporters, ‘Here’s the progress that we have made,'” Sanders said, adding, “I hope that we can meet that goal. We are not there at this moment.”

As you can see Sanders is still giving the impression that Clinton has to jump through his flaming hoops before he will give in and endorse her.

However Biden says the deal is already done.

Now you can lob a number of criticism at Vice President Biden, he's a little too handsy, he tells long boring stories, but one thing you cannot say about him is that he is a liar.

If anything Joe Biden might be a little TOO honest.

In other words if VP Biden says he received confirmation from Sanders that he is going to endorse Hillary Clinton, then by god Sanders told him that he is going to endorse Clinton. Period.

So why is Sanders still acting like the coy high school girl in the prom dress acting as if she is not sure she wants to "go all the way tonight" when her friends know full well that she has a roll condoms and a Barry White album in her purse?

Simple. The minute that Sanders admits that it's all over and he no longer has any more leverage to use at the convention, his supporters, especially the broke ones who are begging for money to help them get to Philadelphia, will disappear in a cloud of pot smoke and that will be it.

And if that happened then stuff like this would come to a halt:

120 people, including 104 donors to Bernie Sanders’ campaign, have sued embattled Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz and the DNC for fraud, negligent misrepresentation, and breach of fiduciary duty, among other claims, alleging that Wasserman Schultz favored Hillary Clinton and misled DNC and Sanders donors into believing she was impartial.

Yeah there's a lawsuit doomed to fail.

Oh and there is also this kind of thing:
Yep, hard to make plans to attend Sanders' inauguration once he concedes and endorses Hillary Clinton now isn't it?

Oh damn, I almost forgot the fundraising.
Yep Sanders is also still fundraising.

So go ahead Bernie-bots you tell me how I'M the one who doesn't get it, or that I'm a shill for Hillary, or that I simply don't understand that Bernie Sanders has changed politics in this country.

No I get it just fine, I have even seen all of this before, on the GOP side.

The question to ask is, "Do you finally get it?"

There is only one candidate who has released tax returns. Bernie can't even do that - needs an extension and yet I saw his wife months ago state during a tv appearance that taxes were done, she does them and that as soon as she got home she'd release them. So what the what??!!

Bernie has an ego problem and he's now just a troublemaker. I hope the Democrats deal with him accordingly after this is all over.

And a little reminder if Bernie doesn't clearly and firmly re-direct his supporters to vote for Hillary and they instead cast a protest vote for Trump, it will be solely on Bernie's head if Trump gets the presidency. One need look no further than the UK to see what protest votes get you.

    2. I agree, 6:05, after I heard him with Chris Hayes, I Twittered asking him "exactly what are you doing to keep Trump out of the WH?" and initially I supported him, so I Twittered "You lost me, so don't speak for me. I support HRC".

Maybe if others would do tell same. I should've hash tagged it. But I rarely use Twitter. (I sent one to Ted Cruz, too. Told him he was an ass. (Referring to his assholeness the other day during a Homeland Security Senate hearing with Jeh Johnson.)

I see nothing wrong with Bernie's responses. He knows his intelligent supporters and how they have Hillary's number when it comes to her deceptions, her cunning sociopathy, is horrific SoS career (Benghazi doesn't even get a mention because it was nothing), her lifelong pattern of flipflopping and asskissing, the fact that she will befriend ANYONE who throws money at her...

Bernie's intelligent supporters have already accepted the fact that Clinton won the primary and they have decided to support her candidacy. That's what any sane, intelligent, and rational person would do under the circumstances. There's something definitely wrong in your head if you're still holding out for a Bernie victory. Bernie knows this and that's the reason he's still fundraising. The crazy sheep are the easiest to fleece.

Concerning your statement that the one thing you cannot say about Joe Biden is that he is a liar. The main reason I cannot believe him is that running for office some years ago he said in a speech that he was from a poor background and his father was a coal miner.Once someone has lied so outrageously it's difficult to grant them credibility. He lacks integrity.

When Bernie was running for the nomination, he expected to run as a Democrat and he expected that the Democratic Party would back him. He never was a Democrat. He just voted with them. Now, he is turning on the same people he thought would support his candidacy. It's kind of childish. In fact, he really does need to tell his supporters that it's OK to back Hillary because the alternative is much worse. It's too bad that Bernie's ego in more important than the bigger picture.

Bernie's assholery drove me from supporting him. First, after MANY years as an independent, he decided to join the Dems. for the sole purpose of usurping their infra-structure for his run at the Presidency. Second, he immediately started bitching, whining, and making demands of the DNC to soothe his little petulant feelings. Third, he then went after the DNC chair rather viciously to obtain "justice" for how unfairly he has been treated. Now, he thinks he can hang onto his ball, pout, stomp his feet, and hold his breath until he gets the changes he wants from the party he doesn't really belong to or support. Well, ok then, little man, don't let the screen door hit you in the ass.

If Joe has done anything at all wrong I would be the told us Bernie stated he endorsed Hillary sooner than Bernie wanted it out in the open. Joe is famous for speaking out of turn. The question then remains why is Bernie not wanting his followers to know he has/is endorsing Hillary. The solicitation of money email certainly seems to be a big reason for him and Jane.
It does not sit well that he is still trying to raise money while askng for another extension on his taxes. His "transparency" is pretty darn opaque.

So why the hell should she be expected to go along with Bernie's goals? That's not the way things work. Bernie did nothing to earn any respect from his colleagues when he was in the Senate. He has trashed the President repeatedly, wanting to primary him in '08 and by appt. Cornell West as a delegate. That's not the sign of someone who cares about the party. After all, President Obama is the leader of the Democratic Party right now, NOT F'ing Bernie Sanders! Someone really needs to remind him of that. He needed to do what Hillary did, promote and endorse her for President and he would have gone back to Congress with a lot of capital and the ability to get things done. As it is, he's likely to get the cold shoulder until he gets voted out in '18 and it's just what he deserves considering what he's tried to do to the Democratic Party. The voters prefer Hillary Clinton, Bernie, that's why they want her policies to be in effect, NOT YOURS!

Democratic Convention Hosted by Republican Donors, Anti-Obamacare Lobbyists

The Democratic Party’s 2012 platform pledged to “curb the influence of lobbyists and special interests.” But the 2016 convention in Philadelphia will be officially hosted by lobbyists and corporate executives, a number of whom are actively working to undermine progressive policies achieved by President Barack Obama, including health care reform and net neutrality.

Some of the members of the 2016 Democratic National Convention Host Committee, whose job is to organize the logistics and events for the convention, are hardly even Democratic Party stalwarts, given that many have donated and raised thousands of dollars for Republican presidential and congressional candidates this cycle.

The composition of the 15-member Host Committee may appear out of sync with the rhetoric of Democratic presidential candidates Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton, but the reality is that the party, in the form of the Democratic National Committee, has moved decisively to embrace the lobbying industry. In October 2015, DNC chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., reportedly huddled with dozens of lobbyists to plan the convention in Philadelphia, and provided the influence peddlers involved with a menu of offerings in exchange for donations. In February, news reports revealed that the DNC had quietly lifted the Obama-era ban on federal lobbyist donations to the party and convention committee.

Anna Adams-Sarthou, the communications director for the Philadelphia 2016 Host Committee, wrote in an email to The Intercept that she has “no concerns” about lobbyists participating in the effort, because “the Host Committee is a nonprofit entity that does not lobby.”

The Host Committee, however, is deeply involved in planning events for the delegates, fundraising, and handling media relations, among other responsibilities.

“Our Host Committee is made up of a diverse group of civic leaders that have led efforts like this in the past, many of whom were integrally involved in the bid for Philadelphia to host the convention,” Adams-Sarthou wrote.

The Host Committee’s finance chair is Daniel Hilferty. In his day job, Hilferty is CEO of Independence Blue Cross, a health insurance giant that covers 9 million people. In December, Hilferty became board chairman of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association of America, a trade group that lobbies for the insurance industry, and he serves on the board of directors of America’s Health Insurance Plan’s (AHIP), the insurance industry lobbying group that spearheaded the campaign against the Affordable Care Act. Lobby registration documents show the BCBS Association is actively supporting a number of Republican bills to roll back provisions of the ACA.

In an interview conducted late last year, Hilferty said he plans to make “sure to work closely at the congressional level, with the administration, with the Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, to have input” into how the ACA is implemented under the next administration.

Hilferty has also donated heavily to Republicans this cycle, giving $10,000 to Prosperity for Pennsylvania, a Super PAC supporting the re-election of Sen. Pat Toomey, R-Pa.; $1,000 to the PAC supporting Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah; $1,000 to Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C.; $2,700 to Chris Christie’s presidential campaign; $25,300 to the NRCC, a GOP committee designed to re-elect House Republicans; and $2,700 to Jeb Bush. Hilferty also gave $2,700 to Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

Hillary has said repeatedly that she wants to expand the ACA and make things better where they need improvement. A donation is not going to change her mind on that. If these lobbyists were as influential as many appear to think they are, we'd have only one party in D.C.

Allyson Schwartz, a former Democratic lawmaker, is a co-chair of the Host Committee. She was recently named head of a new advocacy group for the health insurance industry called Better Medicare Alliance. The group, according to the Center for Public Integrity, was set up by APCO, a lobbying firm for health insurance companies, to push to expand Medicare Advantage plans, the privately managed programs that were curtailed with the enactment of the ACA.

David Cohen is the special adviser to the Host Committee and serves as the executive vice president of Comcast, overseeing the company’s lobbying and regulatory strategy. In addition to being a “Hillblazer” — one of Hillary Clinton’s bundlers who has raised $100,000 or more — Cohen has been a particularly bitter and duplicitous leading opponent of the rules regarding net neutrality, the principle that all internet traffic must be treated equally. And despite hosting fundraisers for Clinton at his home last summer, Cohen has spent heavily to help elect a Republican Congress, including recent donations to the NRCC; Sen. Toomey; Sen. Scott; Sen. Kelly Ayotte, R-N.H.; as well as $33,400 to the NRSC, a committee for helping elect GOP members to the Senate.

The Philadelphia Host Committee chair, former Gov. Ed Rendell, headed for Wall Street as soon as he left office and has since represented a number of controversial special interests. In 2011, as New York was debating regulations on fracking, Rendell wrote a pro-fracking opinion column in the New York Daily News, while failing to disclose that he was a paid consultant at a private equity firm that had investments in the industry.

That same year, Rendell started providing paid speeches on behalf of the Mujahideen-e Khalq (MEK), a fringe Iranian exile group that was considered a terrorist organization by the State Department at the time (it was delisted in 2012).

The former governor also joined the group Fix the Debt — an organization backed by private equity billionaire Pete Peterson that advocates for cutting Social Security benefits — co-chairing its activities alongside Judd Gregg.

Rendell is currently a special counsel at the law and lobbying firm Ballard Spahr; earlier this year, the firm launched a new election law group, advising clients on campaign finance and lobbying strategy.

“The Democratic Party, especially the DNC, have never liked Obama’s policies to disengage lobbyists from campaign fundraising,” says Craig Holman, an expert on ethics and campaign finance with Public Citizen. “The party only went along with the restrictions because Obama was the party leader. Sanders is itching for a convention fight

If platform flashpoints aren't resolved, the Vermont senator says he'll take his battle to the floor of the Democratic convention.

Why would any right thinking person sponsor a Bernie Bot to the convention to raise a rukcus and embarrass the Democratic Party?

    Chicago Tribune-
Democrats should reject Bernie Sanders' demands

.... Sanders says it's "really dumb" to refuse to open all primaries to unaffiliated voters. Not surprisingly, he performed better in open primaries than in closed contests. But if a Washington-based Democratic hierarchy can instruct state parties how to run their primaries, let's just have one big national primary.

Sanders is wrong to suggest the Democratic Party's nominating system is seriously defective. It isn't. It's eminently fair to let party members (i.e., registered Democrats) select the nominee, and to give party loyalists and elected officials ("superdelegates") a modestly bigger say.

Start with Sanders' call for open primaries in all states. It might sound little-d democratic on its face, but political parties are not governmental organizations. They are member-run groups that have the right and obligation to set their own rules for picking nominees.

It's logical and fair to allow only registered or self-identified Democrats to choose their party's nominee (although numerous states do have open primaries). Letting more non-Democrats choose the nominee doesn't guarantee success in a November general election. And it does nothing to encourage people to join and work for the party.....

He says she, not he, is responsible for persuading his supporters to back her.

Every vote counts. Sanders should accept the primary outcome and enthusiastically rally his supporters to Clinton's side to avoid a catastrophic Donald Trump presidency.

In fact, letting non-Democrats vote in a Democratic primary skews the results. Here in Michigan, Republicans urged other Republicans to vote for Sanders on the Democratic ballot. That's just not fair. A political party should have the right to choose its own candidate. Bernie Sanders should have become active in a real political party decades ago. Instead, he's run for Congress for years as a member of a party of one, himself.

Why be a whore to a party if one does not agree with a major percentage of their platform?

Not saying I agree with Bernie but I also don't agree with what most politicians are spewing.

Sometimes there is a candidate worth voting for and sometimes there is not. I, just as you, however take offense at Bernie joining a party that he did not support the platform of. You are correct, Bernie is NOT a Democrat and he sold out.

We Independents hope and dream every election for a strong candidate but they only stay true to their lack of party affiliation very rarely and only then do we have a candidate we can vote for,

Bernie, after getting in bed with a party that is half of the problem in politics today, lost a lot of our support.

However, his irrational hate for the man feeds many of our souls, so it's been fun, to say the least, to watch the fireworks launched by his toddler-tantrums.

He can hate away all he wants but hey, I don't see Jane Sanders pushing her way into a meeting with the AG to try to make a deal for her husband, huh?

      Wonder what up wit 'dat?

None of it matters, buddy, sorry to say. When Bill Clinton is worried enough to make a point of being at the same airport as the AG for an "impromptu" meeting then we know something big is coming down the pike...Bernie will probably end up being all we have after Hillary has to step away from the race to "spend more time with family"...

Lot of people that come here to bash Bernie are going to have to hold their nose and vote for him when he has to be the democrat second choice.

Beaglemom, for someone who spends a lot of time posting on political matters you really do seem to be quite naive regarding who and what these politicians are and how things really work.

"Bumping into each other and talked about grandparenting" is akin to "leaving office to spend more time with family".

This was no accident and Lynch has publicly admitted that she regrets the meeting and if to do over again she would NOT do it.

The optics were terrible and this will not be the last we hear about it. The Hillary camp is pissed and won't even make a statement.

The truth (so far) behind the 2016 campaign

Ninety-five of the 158 fact-checks of claims made by Trump have been rated False or Pants on Fire. Add in Mostly False and that accounts for 123 (78 percent) of all of Trump’s fact-checked claims.

Bernie is delusional and Baby Jane is padding her retirement plan.
BTW, since Bernie never changed his party affiliation in the Senate he should be sued by the DNC for any monies and services they gave him.

I trust Joe Biden more than Bernie Sanders. Bernie started off on the right foot, but changed more and more as time went on. He's using "many" small donations to fund a trip to see the Pope, and now he's begging for more to make it to Philly after he fired half his staff. Maybe I'm jealous, but I'd love a slush fund raised for a campaign here, then fly to europe with my husband. That money belonged to "the revolution" "The little guy" middle class who wants free college education. The DNC knows how to throw a party, jumbo shrimp, filet mignon, champagne etc.... that's what he's holding out for DNC swag and a tour of Philly.
