No Guccifer did NOT hack Hillary Clinton's e-mail server.

This widely held belief by Republicans and Bernie-Bros that this Guccifer fellow hacked Hillary Clinton's e-mail server, and that she put potentially top secret information into the hands of our enemies, is complete bullshit.

Despite the claims by Fox News:

The infamous Romanian hacker known as “Guccifer,” speaking exclusively with Fox News, claimed he easily – and repeatedly – breached former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s personal email server in early 2013.

"For me, it was easy ... easy for me, for everybody," Marcel Lehel Lazar, who goes by the moniker "Guccifer," told Fox News from a Virginia jail where he is being held.

Guccifer’s potential role in the Clinton email investigation was first reported by Fox News last month. The hacker subsequently claimed he was able to access the server – and provided extensive details about how he did it and what he found – over the course of a half-hour jailhouse interview and a series of recorded phone calls with Fox News.

Well he lied to them and in their desperation to prove Hillary Clinton unfit for the presidency they ate it up with a spoon.

Today when asked point blank if Hillary's e-mails had been hacked FBI director James Comey said this:

"I'm not sure."

Which is ridiculous because he also said that there was no evidence found that the server had been hacked.

Typically when you find no evidence of a crime you say there was no crime. You don't say "Well there could have been a crime, but I can't be sure because I can't find the evidence."

So we now know that the State Department was hacked, the White House was hacked, the IRS was hacked, the Office of Personnel Management was hacked, and even the DNC was hacked.

And yet we have no proof, nor any real reason to suspect, that Hillary Clinton's e-mails were hacked.

So one more time, WHOSE e-mail system was more secure again?

Hillary Clinton is being vilified for what MIGHT have gone wrong with her e-mail situation, but in the end nothing that was classified fell into enemy hands, no hackers broke into her system, and it resulted in no agents or soldiers being put at risk.

Which by the way, is a hell of a lot more than can be said for other so-called secure government e-mails servers.

This is a dead issue now. The State Department will re-open their internal security review (which was halted mid-stream when the FBI's started), but Sec. Kerry is only trying to make sure they have tightened everything up now. It will not affect HRC as it is an internal review.

    5. I hope it's a dead issue, but I don't think so. I watched the whole Comey hearing on CSPAN and throughout the hearing Republicans have requested all kinds of records or documents, including transcripts of various FBI interviews. They also requested info about the FBI agents who investigated the emails & interviewed Hillary. They want to compare (nit-pick) Hillary's 11-hour House testimony (under oath) to what she said in her FBI interview last Saturday (not under oath, but it is a crime to lie to Federal agents). Luckily, her Saturday FBI interview was not recorded, otherwise the Republicans would have a field day for each time she might misspeak. They also requested info about State dept. Staffers.

They will NEVER give up. I admire this woman's fortitude. Grace under fire. Titanium backbone. I would've crumbled a very long time ago.

The U.S. State Department said on Thursday it will conduct an internal review of whether Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and her aides mishandled classified information, after the Justice Department declined to bring criminal charges.

The State Department said in April it had suspended plans for an internal review at the request of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which conducted a yearlong probe of Clinton’s use of private email servers while she was secretary of state.

“Given the Department of Justice has now made its announcement, the State Department intends to conduct its internal review,” State Department spokesman John Kirby said in a statement.

“I cannot provide specific information about the Department’s review, including what information we are evaluating. We will aim to be as expeditious as possible, but we will not put artificial deadlines on the process,” he said.

I am getting deeply frustrated with some of my relatives, who can't be pragmatic about Clinton in the face of the very real threat Trump and the Republicans present. They are Democrats, but they believe all the negative hype and are saying that they refuse to vote for her. I'm hoping that they at least go in to vote for people for Congress. If there are too many asinine grudge holders like them out there, this election could turn out badly on too many levels.
I'm trying not to dwell on it though. Don't have ulcers yet and don't want to get any either.
I have been ambivalent about Hillary in the past. I am much less so now. The woman's got guts and courage and she's earned the nomination. I hope not only that she wins, but that we send a strong Democratic contingent to Congress this time around.

Comey and the FBI report did not say her system wasn’t hacked or that “nothing fell into enemy hands” etc. because they can’t be certain. Sophisticated government agents could have gotten into her server without leaving traces. Comey stated it was “possible” that her system was hacked.

“Comey said there was no direct evidence Clinton's email was hacked, but other people she corresponded with were hacked, and her use of a private email system was well-known. She also used her email while traveling ‘in the territory of sophisticated adversaries.’ Thus, he said, ‘it is possible that hostile actors gained access to Secretary Clinton’s personal email account.’ http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/onpolitics/2016/07/05/what-fbi-found-in-hillary-clinton-email-investigation/86709530/

“Also unresolved is the question of whether Clinton’s server was hacked. Comey said the FBI did not find any proof, but he also said that ‘we would be unlikely to see such direct evidence.’ ”

I work for the Federal government, and .gov email was massively hacked by the Chinese not too many years ago. During the years when HRC was Secretary of State, we all had multiple email addresses, and you could absolutely count on your .gov email being the least reliable, most difficult system. Only in recent years has their been a push to move to halfway decent email systems, and to clamp down on use of other email accounts.
This whole scandal is a frigging joke, except for the part about it not being funny.

I too think the U.S. would survive a Trump presidency. But I have no desire to put that opinion to the test. I don't want another president who could be compared with Bush II. Bush was like an actor playing the role of president; Trump will be an actor playing the role. Like Bush, Trump is not a smart man. He is not an intellect. Don't confuse whatever business success he has had with intelligence. Success in one endeavor does not necessarily success in another. I want more for my country, my family, and myself than Trump has to offer. By no means do I think Clinton is ideal, but between our current two choices, she is the better choice.

I have heard people say supporters of Trump really don't believe he'll be able to do most of what he says he'll do. Then what is the point? If it is chaos, chaos is often costly. History is filled with examples of nations thrown into chaos. It isn't pretty.

If voters are ultimately dissatisfied with the candidates of both parties, then perhaps the answer is becoming a more informed and more active citizen.
