Republican party convention final night open thread. Update!

(So do we think that Melania learned her lesson and will be let out of her cage so that she can rejoin the rest of the family tonight?)

By the way apparently they are taking no chances with Trump's speech tonight.

Courtesy of TPM:

Donald Trump's campaign team is reportedly checking and rechecking the speech he will give Thursday at the Republican National Convention to make sure it isn't plagiarized, The New York Times reported.

The Times reported that by early Tuesday, passages in Trump's speech that had been inspired by outside sources had to be rewritten or attributed.

Bummer! I was really hoping that we would hear a recycled version of President Obama's acceptance speech from 2008.

I always liked that speech.

Personally I think that after watching this slow motion train wreck disintegrate across my TV screen this week, that Hillary Clinton could stand at the podium all four nights of the Democratic convention making fart noises with her hands and STILL come off as far more classy than the Republicans have in their convention.

Actually I think this about summed up the GOP convention thus far.

"Sieg He....I mean Hi everybody."
Nice catch there Laura Ingraham but we watched those old newsreels from Germany in the 1930's.

Jerry Springer made a rather obvious observation as well.
Yeah, I cannot even begin to imagine how more fucked up all of this could be, but at this point if Trump grabbed his daughter Ivanka right there on the stage and started banging her in front of the whole audience, like he has always wanted to, I would probably not be surprised.

Update:
So many lies in Trump's speech I can't keep up.

Update 2: Trump's attacks on Hillary over the e-mail server are not factually based.

Weak attack from Trump.

MSNBC just did a segment, Where's Waldo (Sarah)! The reporter didn't say it directly, but implied that Trump didn't feel that close to her, unlike his other surrogates. First time that I've seen Trump make a legitimate decision.

I could see it after she endorsed him in Iowa, he onstage next to her. The stupid faces he made; embarrassed. Next, onto Oklahoma (part of the deal), and he stood offstage on the floor that time. She was never invited back, poor baby.

    6. The song he chose to bring out the families was "All Right Now" by Free.

It features some pretty questionable lyrics for a family audience ("I took her home to my place/Watching every move on her face....'You said love? Lord above! Now you're trying to track me with love!'...").

      Free.

      The band was from England.

Four English blues rockers were the band Free.

English band Free was signed to British guy Chris Blackwell's British record company Island Records.

Island Records was founded in Jamaica in 1959 by three Englishmen.

Island Records moved from Jamaica to London England in 1962.

According to the Rock and Roll Hall of fame Englishman Chris Blackwell is "the single person most responsible for turning the world on to reggae music."

Reggae music is Jamaica's national music.

English label Island Records released many of Jamaican reggae superstar Bob Marley's top selling albums.

Actually it was the same ol' I, I, I, ME, ME, ME interspersed with buzzword pandering.

Remember, Donald is in MARKETING. So he knows his audience and he knows what they want to hear.

So as long as he interjects some WALL, and JOBS, and SECURITY, he can talk about himself all he wants.

It was meaningless, as he has no plan on how to implement any of it. Most of it can't.

He's going to bring jobs and manufacturing back. How? With increasing regulations? He just promised to get rid of regulations so that we can frack and burn coal all we want. The jobs will be back but without regulation there will be no minimum wage. Well, since no one will PAY the price for those American made goods our citizens will just have to work for the same wages as those Chinese political prisoners and slum children in India.

He can't deliver any of it. He doesn't care because he's just in it for the attention.

No one else seems to care either.

Those that know better just want him in so they can do whatever they want with a puppet President.

The rest just don't care at all. He's not Hillary.

      He loves the uneducated.

She has such a strange build, all of his children do. Small heads, long legs with knock-knees. Add to that Ivanka's overly large bolt-on-boobs and she comes off looking like a space alien.

It would take a parent to see the beauty in that one, even after all the plastic surgery.

    2. Anonymous5:50 PM

Their features are most distracting, huge shoulders on Ivanka, tiny, tiny mouth on Tiffany, small heads and constant exposure to long legs. It is difficult to concentrate on what they are saying or doing instead of perusing their unusual appearances.

Probably could be better handled with help from someone in the fashion and hair departments with real expertise.

Don't know if Ivanka's boobs are her own but they resemble the huge boob job Melania got when she couldn't get modeling jobs so resorted to surgical additions, but denies it, though there is record of it from her agent at that time.

    3. Anonymous5:59 PM

Ivanka is being sued for copying shoe designs and three companies and a manufacturer she deals with are named in the suit. She changed almost nothing in the designs she apparently stole but it is evident that no one can deny, like the plagiarized speech of Melania's, that they are copied from someone else's.

Ivanka gave birth to her 3rd child 3 months ago and is still breastfeeding her baby son, hence the big bosom.
Unlike BeefyPayme, who only claimed to be breastfeeding her latest disappointment so she could fuck with Duh, who was't marching to the payme's tune at that time. He soon got in line.
If Beefy had truly been breastfeeding her baby then, her boobs would've looked as big as Ivanka's do. That's what nursing boobs look like--BIG.

Lots of plastic surgery for Ivanka. No rich teen will allow herself to be ugly. Tiffany is not really rich. She is tied to accessibility to money and still gets perks but not like Ivanka. They both at one time looked the same.

So here it is. Bet Donald will slip and let out some profanity as he gets his egotistical high. He loves himself so much he'll probably just let it all hang out. He figures he's got it in the bad and now can be his true self. Donald thinks if he killed someone in NYC that voters would still love him and vote for him.

I think that kind of sick self-love he demonstrates might just cause him to drop some speech bomb and sound like Adolph Hitler. I say this in earnest. I really think this guy is dangerous.

  29. Which frightened Republican was it that first tossed out that nonsense that Trump was Obama's 'fault?'

In a backhanded way, he or she was right.

The fact is America has already been 'made great again,' thanks to our beloved president. His astonishing and heroic job of cleaning the mess left by predecessor will stand any judgment of time, but at this moment, might well feel too well done.

It is only because of Obama's love and toil in the name of this country, that enables Republicans to willfully lose their minds, recklessly and heedlessly proffering a candidate several fold more know-nothing and dangerous than Bush.

The Republican nominee just got owned by a fellow billionaire.

To begin the Late Show on Wednesday night, Stephen Colbert introduced Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban for a special “Take The Gloves Off” segment.

Cuban bragged that he is twice the billionaire that Trump is and then set out to roast him.

And Cuban did NOT hold back as he dropped burn after burn with Colbert popping in and out to chime in with his own hilarious quips.

“Donald, the gloves are off. Speaking of gloves, I got you a pair for your birthday. You’re a child’s medium, right?” Cuban began.

“Donald, I’ve got a travel tip for you. When you’re going through customs and they ask if you’ve got anything to declare, try not to blurt out ‘bankruptcy,’” he continued.

“That’s a billionaire bitch slap,” Colbert observed.

”Your companies fail so often, you must’ve gone to business school at Trump University,” Cuban said, to which Colbert replied, “Oh, Donald ― he just dropped you like one of your first two wives.”

Cuban then dropped the hammer on Trump.

“Donald, do you know that to be a billionaire, you have to have the billion part in your bank account. Not just the air.”

    And finally:

“Donald, the only way you’re worth $10 billion is if I paid you $9.5 billion to…wash my balls!”

    Here’s the video via YouTube.

Why I just quit the Republican Party

Here's why I bailed, quit, and jumped ship:

First, Trump's boorish, selfish, puerile, and repulsive character, combined with his prideful ignorance, his off-the-cuff policy making, and his neo-fascistic tendencies make him the most divisive and scary of any serious presidential candidate in American history. He is precisely "the man the founders feared," in Peter Wehner's memorable phrase. I want to be no part of this.

...Finally, Trump is "an ignorant, amoral, dishonest and manipulative, misogynistic, philandering, hyper-litigious, isolationist, protectionist blowhard" in the words of Republican donor Michael K. Vlock. That charming list of qualities means supporting Trump translates into never again being able to criticize a Democrat on the basis of character. Or, in personal terms: How can one look at oneself in the mirror?

And so, with Trump's formal nomination, I bailed.
