Pretty sure that "security guard" is one of his people.Colbert just hijacked the #RNCinCLE stage 😂😂😂 pic.twitter.com/dB4mSPCn4e— Cassandra Fairbanks (@CassandraRules) July 17, 2016
Looks like it is going to be a very entertaining week inside the convention center, and a possible blood bath outside on the streets:
Crowds of protesters were expected to pack the streets of downtown Cleveland on Sunday just as Republicans were arriving for Monday’s kickoff of the Republican National Convention.
The groups expected to descend on the city were focused on a range of agendas. A coalition of activists planned to hold a “Shut Down Trump and the R.N.C.” march to oppose the nomination of Donald J. Trump. The group wants to march through downtown to City Hall and the area outside the Quicken Loans Arena, where delegates will meet to vote on the party’s nominee. But pro-Trump rallies are also planned.
And even the Ohio Governor has very little he can do to protect his citizens from armed protesters:
Ohio Gov. John Kasich (KAY’-sihk) says he doesn’t have authority to suspend the state’s law allowing people to openly carry guns.
Kasich responded Sunday to a request by the Cleveland police union president for the suspension of the law during the Republican National Convention, which begins Monday.
The request by union president Steve Loomis followed Sunday morning’s fatal shooting of three police officers in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Personally you could not pay me enough to go to Cleveland right now.
I certainly hope that Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart have security, because I don't think it is an exaggeration to say that all lives are in danger in that environment.

My mom used to work in Cleveland, and her former law office is CLOSED for the week, as are a number of businesses and restaurants. Too bad the GOP has let the NRA turn America into the wild west, huh? I wonder when the death toll will begin to bother them? Never?
ReplyDeleteThe Republican platform imploding the local economy. How ironic...
DeleteSadly, those are the only intelligent words that will be spoken on that stage for the next five.
ReplyDeleteI was happy to see that there is one person in Cleveland this week who has a sense of humor, and balls.
DeleteI expect it will be all downhill from here in both departments.
Stephen Colbert for President!
ReplyDeleteOn a sadder note, and going along with predictions that bad things are going to happen in Cleveland and beyond, we have this death threat against Hillary Clinton -
http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/hillary-clinton-death-threat-execution-mike-folk-1.3683213
Regarding HRC>In the tweet, Folk said the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee "should be tried for treason, murder, and crimes against the US Constitution... then hung on the Mall in Washington, DC."
DeleteFolk, who said he's received death threats over the comments, is seeking a third term in the House. The Martinsburg resident ran unopposed in the May Republican primary and will face Democrat and Berkeley County Sheriff Kenny Lemaster in November.
Folk is a United Airlines pilot and the Airlines made a statement today saying Folk has been removed from his schedule pending an investigation.
DeleteI sure as hell would not want him piloting me or any of my family anywhere just in case one of us got crosswise with anything on one of his flights.
Let's hope the Democrat,Lemaster, he is running against in November wins the election in Martinsburg, W VA.
United Airlines made a smart move 'supposedly' investigating the guy! I'm sure they knew they'd experience a huge drop in business. I made a note never to fly them again.
DeletePeople need to keep track of the investigation and its outcome. The airline could be playing games....who knows! The guy really needs his butt kicked out of the airline business forever just based on what he has done!
Reminds me of when some cops are investigated for killing an unarmed black (video shows otherwise) - and, getting away with it - no jail time, etc.
United breaks guitars.
DeleteAnd they suck.
If this spreads the boycott word, all the better.
Donnie Loves Chachi!!
ReplyDeleteNo place for Sarah.
Bet Palin's face looks like a slapped ass!
Donnie Loves Chachi!!
Delete-------
He's also got 2 more soap stars, Duck Dynasty nut, and of course All My Children from the Trump Dynasty.
(Rumour has it they will ALL be movin' on into the White House. They will be bringing their gilding and neon lights with them.)
What a circus!
Sara didn't make the cut. Maybe her kneepad performance just wasn't good enough.
DeleteDid she swallow or spit it in a wash cloth, 5:23?
DeleteSara didn't make the cut.
Delete------
She certainly campaigned enough for VP which in turn would bring her to the convention. Then suddenly, she was not around, and if you look at the timing, I don't think it was because of Track.
Either Trump, or his kids, or Manafort must have decided to run, not walk, away as fast as possible from her craziness.
The panel on CNN tonight even commented that it was pretty low of Trump not to invite Palin after how she'd campaigned hard for him, and one person even said he threw her under the bus. We know why he didn't invite her, but it looks pretty bad.
DeleteO/T Just watched the 60 Minutes interview with Trump and Pence. It was like watching a ventriloquist and his ventriloquist's dummy perform. Gov. Pence has sold his soul to the devil.
ReplyDeleteI thought exactly the same thing. It was so funny how Trump took over answering questions for Pence and how Pence would look to Trump before answering. Also Trump giving him permission to say things. Trump's hand is definitely up Pence's ass - "he's a good man" repeat ad nauseum
DeleteJust read the transcript on Politicusa.
DeleteThere is something wrong with Trump. He should go to Emergency right away. He should be evaluated, at least physically. Maybe he has had a stroke or small brain hemorrhage. There is something wrong.
Reminded me of days of old - McCain and Palin!!!
DeleteA lot of reciprocal ass licking going on in that interview and not a word of it rang true.
DeleteTrue colors>
Deletehttp://thinkprogress.org/politics/2016/07/14/3797260/mike-pence-vp/
If you or I spoke like that, people would be alarmed.
DeleteI wonder if he didn't lose his personal viet nam re latent vd.
Republicans have every reason to have him evaluated now. That was scary.
Just pence kissing trumps.
DeleteIt was wild. And to me Pence actually looked like the presidential candidate and Trump looked like a maniac sitting there always hunched forward and taking over and saying whatever he wanted to and interrupting Stahl and several times not answering her question, like when she kept trying to get him to take responsibility for his statement that he will "declare war" on Isis.
DeleteFor all that can be said about Pence kissing ass, he saved Trump on a number of things and looked like the guy running for pres. And when he was smiling at Trump, I didn't get the impression he was waiting for permission--to me, it looked like he was just dealing with the freak and biding his time until he could speak and make the duo look more presidential.
I loved how the camera showed just how ugly Trump's face is and how the sound caught all his stuffy breathing. It was wild looking at Pence's truly tanned face and comparing it to Trump's sunburny orange face. I couldn't stop comparing the eye areas, especially Trump's white skin just above his eyebrows and Pence's tanned skin there, as well as Pence's tanned neck versus Trump's white neck meat that hung over his collar. What really grosses me out is how Trump's deep creases between his eyes remain white. When he's tanning in the booth or before his lotion sets up, he must squint under the lamps or squint and sweat off the lotion so he gets no color there.
I just wish that the 'open carry' law would also be enforced inside the convention center. Thet would be epic justice!
ReplyDeleteThe Republican Party Talks A Big Game, But Their Actions Have Made The Police Less Safe
Delete....But right-wing gun laws in Ohio are adding unnecessary fuel to the already-raging fire of security threats.
Since the Buckeye State allows its citizens to openly carry firearms, people in the RNC event zone can roam the streets with guns strapped to their wastes or across their backs.
Tennis balls and sleeping bags are banned, though, so you’re out of luck if you planned on breaking into an impromptu tennis match or catching a nap outside of Progressive Field.
Your AR-15? Sure, that’s okay.....

I'm sure Stewart and Colbert have security.
ReplyDeleteRemember, Trump is the one that doesn't like the media coverage as well as comedians adding their humor and two-cents worth!
He is the one they'll need the security for...Trump probably has his mafia buddies ready to roll in all kinds of ways at the Convention.
Who in the Hell would even want to attend a Trump 'coronation' of his own making? JHC! Some Americans are friggin' nuts! (Except for the various comedians that will be covering the Convention - they are going to be a hoot to watch on late-night TV!)
the gop's complete schedule, as of now anyway..what a dynamic line up lol
ReplyDeletehttp://convention.gop
I miss Colbert! It's nice to see him back and commenting, much less Jon Stewart! It's like old times again!
ReplyDeleteHe's on CBS every week night. Check him out. He needs the ratings!
DeleteMaybe they will include Huckabee's son, the one up for cruelty to animal charges for roasting a dog at a christian camp. These Christians, they're a dandy!

O/T but funny:
ReplyDeletePeople believe that most elected officials or politicians are just plain whacko, and it's hard to disagree. We took statements made by one-time vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, a well-known activist, and also gathered statements made by the crazy lady who just got out of the Juno Alaska mental hospital. See if you can determine who said what from these actual quotes & statements.
http://thatviralfeed.net/ilykenet/who-said-it---sarah-palin-or-the-crazy-lady/77957#ixzz4EikYFRWy
Sara is a lazy substance abuser.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the GOP is going to plant protesters a la Nixon "68 to stir up the violence, then Mr. Law and Order Trump can "save the day" with his twitter feed?
ReplyDeleteThe Democrats need to be proactive combating all the "garbage" that will be spewed the GOP convention.
My suggestion is every time they bring up Benghazi, the dems send out the list of all the embassies, ships etc that were attacked under Ronnie and the two Bushes. Keep repeating
Every time Donnie says crooked Hillary and wall st. the Democrats send out a message with how Donnie scammed his vendors, lost money for his investors etc. Keep Repeating.
6:18, think you are on to something. On the news they said donnie's new slogan all of a sudden is "a safer America". Those buttheads. If donny wasn't inciting shit for this whole year there wouldn't be all this strife. Now he's gonna go all John Wayne on us and act like he's saving shit. Infuriating to say the least. Those Republicans are busy making up stuff as they go along and making it look like our world is at an unrest. I wouldn't even put it past them if they were behind the terrorism. Wasn't beneath them last time they made up stuff.
DeleteTake a drink everytime he says that Hills is croo....
DeleteOr, every time Trump says 'crooked' Hillary from his coronation podium, someone be on Twitter to put out "Don the Con"! Over and over and repeat, repeat, repeat - following his bullshit lead! Pay him back in spades Democrats! Fuck him! He's dirty as they come and we can be too!
DeleteOr, every time he says 'crooked' Hillary, add $10 to the donation that you send at the end to the HRC campaign.
Delete"Ohio Gov. John Kasich says he doesn’t have authority to suspend the state’s law allowing people to openly carry guns."
ReplyDeleteSo, who runs the State of Ohio ? The Governor, or the NRA ?
The people who voted this stupid law into effect.
DeleteI was thinking that someone could get a court order early Monday. If they wanted to try. Maybe it could have been an emergency one done today? I don't know. I don't know how these things work.
DeleteHah, and I couldn't believed it when a guest on Fox today complained about Kasich and that guns will be there. Suddenly, with the cop killings, they're not ranting about the 2nd Amendment but think it should be suspended. Shocking!
I think the GOP wants mayhem in the streets of Cleveland during the convention. This will further Trump's credibility for being "tough" and it will imply that President Obama and Hillary Clinton are personally responsible for anything bad that happens. This is not an accident. Otherwise no governor would choose to ignore the public wishes of the police.
DeleteBeaglemom
Kasich isn't endorsing Trump and will NOT be at the RNC.
DeleteGood for him.
And what's with Palin's congrats to Pence, using Latin: "illegitimi non carborundum," meaning "don't let the bastards grind you down." Like that was appropriate language right at the beginning of a congrats, and like she knows the guy well enough to talk like that!
ReplyDeleteLike she ever learned to read Latin! She was provided that statement and it was translated for her!
DeleteCheck her records in school. Foreign language skills - NONE! Shit, she can hardly speak or write English sentences correctly!
"illegitimi non carborundum," is not Latin. It is really just made up gibberish to sound like Latin. Its a made up phrase by the British during WW11 to sound like Latin. End of our language class for today, kids. :)
DeleteThe RNC is in Cleveland???? The Mistake on the Lake?
ReplyDeleteThat is just too perfect.
Hey! When I was growing up near Cleveland, all the Cleveland garbage cans said "Best Location in the Nation."
DeleteCleveland Rocks might end up being Cleveland Riots!
DeleteDonald Trump had white evangelicals at 'hello'
ReplyDeleteHe may be a Presbyterian who thinks Two Corinthians walked into a bar, but Donald Trump clearly commands the backing of white, born-again voters.
http://www.dailykos.com/stories/2016/7/17/1548121/-Donald-Trump-had-white-evangelicals-at-hello
Just goes to show how messed up those religious righties are. Obviously more Old Testament than New.
DeleteIt shows what total idiots they are. Little Donny is no more evangelical than I am -- no more socially conservative, also too. The fact that they would embrace a total con man proves what Little Donny said years ago, that if he ever ran for office it would be as a Republican, because their voters were so incredibly stupid.
DeleteMeanwhile, true conservatives with half a brain, of which there are still a few, can't stand Little Donny any more than I can.
Irony much?
What a wonderful thing to see the Republicans shitting themselves over gunz in their streets.
ReplyDelete"I think I am actually humble. I think I'm much more humble than you would understand."

Yeah, Trump and the Trumpets will pretend to love the cops above all else, until it comes time to pass laws to protect them. Like repealing open carry and banning assault weapons.
ReplyDeleteWhat could go wrong? There are Neo Nazis who said that they would "protect" Trump. There are Black Americans who also have the right to open carry. It's not going to be a fun place to be, and it will be Trump's violent rhetoric that will be at fault. I can see fucktards like Palin, blaming Obama. They always do.
ReplyDeleteMilia should get a go fund me for her work <<
ReplyDeleteThe Court summarily concluded that I had not shown a “legitimate public benefit” in this case. In spite of the corruption, cover-up at the highest levels of DHS, coercion, and inappropriate expense charged to taxpayers, the Court has ensured that individuals will NEVER bring FOIA actions.
https://malialitman.com/2016/07/16/federal-judge-inflicts-mortal-wound-in-foia-suit/
EXPOSE THE BASTARDS!
That was awesome.
ReplyDeleteI'm not surprised they're letting Colbert on the stage. They probably still think he's a right wing political pundit. And Donald Trump doesn't care what anyone says as long as it gets him attention and media coverage.
Hopefully we'll see that clip tomorrow night and Jon Stewart will be covering the convention from the democrat's alternative convention. Maybe Colbert too since it appears he's in town. Maybe this week the entire Late Show will be filmed from Cleveland.
Daddy skitzoid dearest and his freak show hits the stage to sell a brat for usa president. Its personal the handler says, go ahead the fec says. 2016 impeachment qualifications-lies, extortion, assault, rape, theft, rigging, eavesdropping, wire tapping, audits, 4000 lawsuits, just for starters. And who might help commit a Trojan crime or 2? Nasty unethical people? convicts, celebrats, sheep, media, communication, banks, drs, lawyers, constitution sherifs and more. Maybe a class Action against RNC GOP don and eric foundations and the rest of named assclowns on behalf of America. Pense is dense and rump is dump and those who aid are the bottom feeders of civilized society
ReplyDeleteI will not watch one second of this week-long Trump fest in Cleveland. However I have set the Colbert show to dvr so I can watch that a day late.
ReplyDeleteBeaglemom
I'm tempted to watch the train wreck in action, but 1) I'm traveling at the moment, and 2) I trust I can catch the most spectacular crash-and-burn moments in the highlight reels.
DeleteThere are advantages on not having cable!!!
DeleteI might turn on the coverage from PBS, however I don't think watching this stuff @10pm is conducive to a good nights rest
Mrs. Trump has plagiarised Michelle Obama's 2008 convention speech. No surprises there.
