Wikileaks threatens MSNBC that their lawyers will start watching their programs if they report on the ties between Russia, Donald Trump, and those leaked e-mails.

Courtesy of Mediaiate:

WikiLeaks, the site that dumped the DNC email leak a few days ago, warned MSNBC’s Joy Reid yesterday after she teased a discussion on her show about the “affinity” between Donald Trump, Russia, and WikiLeak.

The emails were reportedly breached by hackers connected to the Russian government, which has led to talk that maybe Russia is doing this to help Donald Trump, who has said things that Putin might find attractive in an American president. (There’s also the fact that the only part of the GOP platform his team amended was the anti-Putin part.)

This led to Rachel Maddow tweeting this in response:
Personally I'm not sure how offering to increase MSNBC's viewership is supposed to intimidate them, as I am fairly sure that they want EVERYBODY to tune into their programs.

And to be fair to MSNBC they are certainly not the first ones to made the connection between Russia hacking the DNC and these leaked e-mails from Wikileaks.

Courtesy of CNN:

Hillary Clinton's campaign manager is alleging that Russian hackers are leaking Democratic National Committee emails critical of Bernie Sanders in an effort to help Donald Trump win the election in November.

It comes on the heels of "changes to the Republican platform to make it more pro-Russian," Robby Mook told CNN's Jake Tapper on "State of the Union" Sunday.

"I don't think it's coincidental that these emails were released on the eve of our convention here, and I think that's disturbing," he said.

The DNC has previously had its files hacked by an individual named "Guccifer 2.0" that may have had ties to the Russians.

Hackers stole opposition research on Donald Trump from the DNC's servers in mid-June. Two separate Russian intelligence-linked cyberattack groups were both in the DNC's networks.

Got to admit, that is a pretty interesting coincidence.

And at least one news agency has essentially referred to Trump as a Russian operative running for President:

The Republican nominee for president, Donald J. Trump, has chosen this week to unmask himself as a de facto agent of Russian President Vladimir Putin, a KGB-trained dictator who seeks to rebuild the Soviet empire by undermining the free nations of Europe, marginalizing NATO, and ending America’s reign as the world’s sole superpower.

While another claims that Trump is in bed with Vladimir Putin politically and owes the Russians millions of dollars:

Over the last year there has been a recurrent refrain about the seeming bromance between Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. More seriously, but relatedly, many believe Trump is an admirer and would-be emulator of Putin's increasingly autocratic and illiberal rule. But there's quite a bit more to the story. At a minimum, Trump appears to have a deep financial dependence on Russian money from persons close to Putin. And this is matched to a conspicuous solicitousness to Russian foreign policy interests where they come into conflict with US policies which go back decades through administrations of both parties. There is also something between a non-trivial and a substantial amount of evidence suggesting Putin-backed financial support for Trump or a non-tacit alliance between the two men.

You know what, I think I will join the lawyers for Wikileaks in watching Joy Reid's program.

Sounds like it might be very informative.

Unfortunately, back in June 1972 we had journalists and the press did their job. In 2016 we no longer have journalists nor a press that will do their job.
Hopefully Clinton has opo research on Trump that will reveal him to be owned by the Russian mafia. Josh Marshall is doing his civic duty and I thank him.

The talking points memo link is a must read. There are no laws that say Borst Hair Trump can't release his taxes while being audited, so the man better put up or shut up. I caught Joy's new show just today, and she's doing a mighty fine job, and having Rachel Maddow chime in is a HUGE help.

I LOVE Joy Reid. She was for Bernie before she took over Melissa Harris-Perry's tv slot. She truly is a professional because she checked her Bernie preference at the door once she got her own show.
I agree with Anita - read the TPM story. Josh Marshall is doing actual investigative journalism and I appreciate that.

The DNC should not be sending "embarrassing" e-mails. Employees not smart enough to keep their dirt out of the digital record are a liability.

We teach 7 year-olds how to keep out of trouble in e-mails, social media, smart phones. DNC should be training their employees.

The DNC, the Clinton campaign and all the down-ticket campaigns should be auditing the last year of e-mails, etc. Get the dirt exposed, dump the most egregious offenders and MOVE ON! Take away wikileaks' leverage.

Putin wants Trump in because he can play him like a fiddle. Putin compliments Trump and Trump revels in it and compliments Putin back. It is a dangerous game that is being played with Russia and Trump is so easily led astray, he cannot see it because of his huge ego. This whole thing is ridiculous, Trump is a ridiculous candidate picked by incredibly stupid people! They are fascinated with the celebrity aspect, too stupid to be taken seriously. God help us.

Ever since tRump became a candidate, I have contended that his wife, Melanoma, is a Russian agent. I mean, born in Slovenia, father a communist party leader, and during the one year (or was it just one semester?) that she actually did attend Lubliana (?) University, she took communist indoctrination as an elective.
tRump himself might not know that she is a sleeper agent, he is just happy to have a warm,'pretty' body next to him, and I actually think that if he should lose (which I fevently hope!), that he will ditch her for the next, younger and prettier model. Maybe he will declare his daughter, Ivanka, to not be his flesh and blood but will accuse Ivana or whoever her mother is, of being an adulteress, so he can legally f_ck his own daughter.

I have thought that Trump entered the presidential race because his empire was about to implode. So the campaign, to Trump, has been a brand-boosting effort to delay or prevent that implosion. The idea that he may be in debt to Putin and his pals seems credible.

If true, that would seem to be the end of Trump (politically, financially, ethically), but of course his dull-witted followers won't care.

  11. Thanks for highlighting this. Too many coincidences. Connect theses dots:
Mana fort, Trump's campaign manager, previously worked for ousted Ukraine president, and Donald's team ignored every part of the Republican platform except when they insisted on wording denying support for embattled Ukraine. Add to that the fact that Trump has trouble getting loans from US banks and now owes tons of money to Russian oligarchs, friends of Putin.
This needs to be closely watched.

Had to flee in the night once the Maidan Revolution took hold. And then Putin invaded Crimea and eastern Ukraine. Basically Manafort's job is to help shitty dictators cheat and steal elections. IMHO Manafort's an insane security risk. And ask yourself--what freakin' lunatic would want to withdraw the US from NATO? MURMURS: Putin ‘Weaponized’ Wikileaks To Influence The U.S. Prez Election

Evidence suggests that a Russian intelligence group was the source of the most recent Wikileaks intel dump, which was aimed to influence the U.S. election.

Close your eyes and imagine that a hacking group backed by Russian President Vladimir Putin broke into the email system of a major U.S. political party. The group stole thousands of sensitive messages and then published them through an obliging third party in a way that was strategically timed to influence the United States presidential election. Now open your eyes, because that’s what just happened.

On Friday, Wikileaks published 20,000 emails stolen from the Democratic National Committee. They reveal, among other things, thuggish infighting, a push by a top DNC official to use Bernie Sanders’ religious convictions against him in the South, and attempts to strong-arm media outlets. In other words, they reveal the Washington campaign monster for what it is.

But leave aside the purported content of the Wikileaks data dump (to which numerous other outlets have devoted considerable attention) and consider the source. Considerable evidence shows that the Wikileaks dump was an orchestrated act by the Russian government, working through proxies, to undermine Hillary Clinton’s Presidential campaign.

“This has all the hallmarks of tradecraft. The only rationale to release such data from the Russian bulletproof host was to empower one candidate against another. The Cold War is alive and well,” Tom Kellermann, the CEO of Strategic Cyber Ventures told Defense One.

6.43 You're wrong, he's not a rapist, neither of the women ever suggested they didn't give consent. The rape law in Sweden is different.

What happened was that during his stay in Sweden his groupies competed to fuck him. Two girls got lucky but each thought they were the only one. When they found out otherwise they wanted the police to force him to be tested for HIV-AIDS. Promiscuous sex is very acceptable in Sweden, STDs are not.

The upshot was the Swedish police questioned him and let him go, having not broken any laws. He has never been arrested for anything. It was only weeks after he left Sweden that moves began to get him back on Swedish soil, he thinks to have him kidnapped by the US (and although I personally don't care for him I believe he is correct). Hillary Clinton is no doubt a large part of that.

You can find the original police evidentiary documents through Rixstep News. That's where I read them but remember this case is many years old now so you might have to dig.

The first woman said he was aggressive and it happened too fast and he tried to get away with not using a condom even thought she said he needed to. She said she went through with the sex just to get it over with.

The second woman said she told him she wouldn't have sex without a condom, but that he started having sex with her while she was still half-asleep and did so without a condom despite her obvious wishes.

It's interesting that you dismiss their reports as simple jealousy among two groupies and give Assange a pass.

Is it technically rape in Sweden? Maybe not, but it's something.

If I made it clear to a man, even one that I was ok having sex with, that I wouldn't do it without a condom and he did was Assange did, I'd consider it sexual assault.

Regardless, he never did answer to any of the charges.

The Democratic Party's conspiracy to push Hillary Clinton as the nominee and see that Bernie Sanders is defeated was not a conspiracy by Vladimir Putin and the Russians, as they are trying to paint it. It is a deep seated corruption within the party. And allowing Debbie Wasserman Schultz to remain as chair and address the convention is part of that corruption. She's not resigning until AFTER the convention. And then she's heading to Hillary's campaign.

Why not just give her $40 million dollars too?

And after everything they did to him, Sanders is still supporting Clinton and endorsing her.

    Who's the bigger man now?

And he will still be bashed by the haters.

"For his part, Sanders said Sunday that he is fully behind Clinton and that the DNC email leaks have not changed his support.

“My job right now is to see that Donald Trump is defeated, Hillary Clinton is elected,” Sanders said in an interview with NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

He also rejected the overtures Trump is making to his supporters.

“In terms of who could be trusted, I think the evidence is clear that there has been no candidate that I have ever seen that lies more often than does Donald Trump,” Sanders added. “That’s not just me saying it; that’s what any independent media analysis has shown. In terms of trust, you can’t trust a word I think that Mr. Trump has to say.”"

    I'm not so forgiving.

And I won't be watching that bitch DWS on TV either. Fuck her.

The Russians eat popcorn? Just wondering because they must be having a heydey over there to see us American's at each other's throats. Gads. Our forefathers went through alot of trouble to set us straight and we are just ripping each other a new asshole. What's to become of us? We are no longer united. Not only did the Republican party become the party of Donald Trump, but the rest of us have surrendered ourselves to the hate and divisiveness.

With Trump's second thoughts about supporting other NATO treaty nations, it makes more and more sense.

If Putin invaded any of the former countries of the Soviet Union; Poland, Germany, Croatia, Latvia, etc. that are now part of NATO, they would be SOL. Any of 'em, all of 'em.

Trump would not allow the United States to prevent Russian invasion. Ukraine is the appetizer.

Alternately, Turkey is also a NATO treaty member. Maybe Putin would take it over just to try something different.

Nope. No conspiracy theories please. Cold war ended good. Cold War Restarted bad.

Mkay? Unless evidence surfaces, please let the accusations lie. I do not want my Democrats involved in any sort of war courting. Our military industrial complex is too powerful as it is.

Isn't it just freaking mind boggling how there are two standards of conduct between the Republican and Democratic candidates and parties. Imagine if HRC said she could stand on Fifth Avenue and shoot people. This Wikileaks thing is a concerted effort by someone or something to toss the election over to Trump. Why is the question? Who would benefit the most from the US being governed by Trump given his stated policies and beliefs. Who has the most influence over Trump, who wears his net worth like a shiny badge, except those to whom he is indebted. Hmmmm.

Emails? What about the crimes against Obama/Clinton/Bernie supporters across this country in the last year? Lets talk about that too. Lets talk about the evidence already existing of extortion, bribes and set ups. Cut the crapola media and report on the crimes. Oh that's right Don owns the media, internet and news rags.

Don't see that anyone has posted this yet. The DNC hack is being blamed on Russian intelligence.

“But researchers have concluded that the national committee was breached by two Russian intelligence agencies, which were the same attackers behind previous Russian cyberoperations at the White House, the State Department and the Joint Chiefs of Staff last year. And metadata from the released emails suggests that the documents passed through Russian computers. Though a hacker claimed responsibility for giving the emails to WikiLeaks, the same agencies are the prime suspects. Whether the thefts were ordered by Mr. Putin, or just carried out by apparatchiks who thought they might please him, is anyone’s guess.”

This CT is being stoked by a combination of the warhawks in the Democratic party like Hillary trying to stoke a new Cold War to keep their military/surveillance/industrial complex buddies in business and the embarrassed DNC trying to deflect from their executives' stupidity for putting their anti-Bernie shenanigans in writing.
