Donald Trump's first general election ad is just as ugly and misleading as you would expect it to be.

Courtesy of Think Progress:

With just a few weeks left until voters start casting their ballots, GOP nominee Donald Trump has finally cut a general election TV ad, which will air in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida, and North Carolina. One of the very first images in the 30-second ad shows a line of people waiting in line to vote, with a soundtrack of ominous music playing and the words “system rigged” emblazoned across the screen.

In the context of the last few weeks, amid Trump’s warnings of election rigging and potentially illegal exhortations for untrained supporters to help root out voter fraud, the message of the ad is clear. Trump, who is down in the polls (all of them), is encouraging his base to view a Clinton victory as illegitimate.

Gee that's helpful.

But of course Trump has to accuse Hillary of rigging the system because he is beginning to realize that he is about to lose this election to a woman, and his ego demands that people believe that she cheated somehow.

Essentially Trump would rather agitate his supporters into reacting with violence, and even perhaps foment a civil war, than to admit that he lost because of his own shortcomings and lack of ability.

Yup. When I saw it, the first thing that went through my head was how chintzy it was compared to the ads that have come from the Clinton campaign. Then add to that the darkness, fear mongering and outright fabrication of information. Happy though to see him wasting money on such garbage which will appeal to absolutely no one outside of his "base".

I see as well that he's moved his campaign offices in Trump Tower from the 4th floor to the 14th. From folding desks to posh offices. Gee I wonder how much the Trump business will be collecting in rent and services from the Trump campaign. Those Trump supporters are just suckers who parted with money to donate to the Trump campaign to fund Donald personally.

  4. What I find particularly annoying is that Clinton is such a well-prepared, GOOD candidate for office.... and in future, she will be seen as having been elected for her vagina, by women (bless their silly heads) and that she ran against the worst candidate ever to have attempted a run, and people had nobody else to vote for.

Yes, yes, Stein and whatshisname, but face it- voting for them is throwing your vote away since neither of them have a prayer of actually winning.

The good news is that Barbara Bush, who crowed that the Bush family is the second family in history to have TWO presidencies- will now backstep while the Clinton family makes history by being the FIRST family to have had both a husband and a wife elected to the presidency.

How can you tell when Trump is lying?

Thankfully they won't bother in my state.

They'd both be smart to save their money for swing states and leave those solidly blue or red alone.

I imagine we'll be bombarded with state and local ads soon enough. Sometimes I hate election season.

Compared to Hillary's ads, Trumps look anemic. Where's his plan? Who'll pay for all the bullshit that comes from that birth defect under his nose. I think his digestive system is upside down.

This sounds like a clip out of the 700 club. How dumb does Donald think the rest of Americans outside his deluded bubble is? There is no Hillary Clinton's American any more that there will be a Donald Trump's America. It's our America. The land of the free. You guys fucking pried it from our Native American hands, and now it's one person's America? Not to be. We either share this land is your land, this land is my land, or fuck off. I get so mad that now we're fighting over turf. How animalistic is Trump going to take us? We have to fight for our civilization. Vote Hillary Clinton. She will manage the administration without the grandiosity of the Hunger Games.
