Has Donald Trump's statements about a 2nd Amendment solution to Hillary Clinton's Supreme Court choices finally crossed the line? Update!

Donald Trump makes more gaffes before breakfast than most politicians make in an entire career, and they are far, far worse. And yet time and time again he survives them and moves on, often with very few consequences.

But this time, with these most recent comments, that might not be the case.

Courtesy of Time:

Donald Trump’s comments Tuesday about “Second Amendment people” could be considered a “veiled threat” against Hillary Clinton, a former top Secret Service official told TIME.

The official said that if they were still working at the U.S. Secret Service, they would contact someone on Trump’s campaign staff to have a conversation about whether the understands the consequences of that rhetoric.

The former Secret Service official said they would ask a U.S. attorney to see if Trump broke any laws with the comment.

“Look, this guy is coming pretty close to the edge here,” the official said.

That former agent was being somewhat diplomatic, others are being less so.

This was how Gabby Giffords responded to the statements:

“Donald Trump might astound Americans on a routine basis, but we must draw a bright red line between political speech and suggestions of violence. Responsible, stable individuals won’t take Trump’s rhetoric to its literal end, but his words may provide a magnet for those seeking infamy. They may provide inspiration or permission for those bent on bloodshed." “What political leaders say matters to their followers. When candidates descend into coarseness and insult, our politics follow suit. When they affirm violence, we should fear that violence will follow." “It must be the responsibility of all Americans – from Donald Trump himself, to his supporters, to those who remain silent or oppose him – to unambiguously condemn these remarks and the violence they insinuate. The integrity of our democracy and the decency of our nation is at stake.”

Of course Giffords is the perfect person to call Trump out over this as the internet lit up yesterday with a certain well known image:

Elizabeth Warren could barely contain her rage:

To the question of whether or not this comment will destroy what is left of his already badly damaged candidacy, there are certainly signs that it might.
Personally I have no idea HOW Donald Trump managed to win this Republican nomination, nor do I understand how he continues to garner any support whatsoever.

However if after making such an inflammatory comment he continues to attract support from the base of the Republican party, then I think that party needs to consider completely reevaluating who they are, what they stand for, who it is that supports them, and why.

Update: The Secret Service has now confirmed that they have spoken to Doanld Trump about his statements.

Has that every happened before, that the Secret Service had to warn somebody under their protection not to incite violence against another person under their protection?

I think this is a first.

It's the same reason Carlson put up with Ailes for 20 years-the women are afraid to speak up or they'll lose those big profile jobs. Either that, or the self-esteem is so low they think they deserve to be mocked.
Meanwhile, I think the SS talked to McCain about Palin's hate-mongering rallies in 2008, but maybe that was wishful thinking. SHE is a big part of the reason this country is so hateful now...she divided America with her lies and bluster and fake patriotism. And now Trump is just taking the banner and running with it. "I'll do it until the law tells me I can't" Sound familiar?

It is easy to understand why the R's chose Trump. For years, they have been told that anyone with experience is bad and the 'outsider' with no experience is good. Anyone with experience was part of the Establishment and that was bad. Now they are surprised when an inexperienced know nothing got the nomination.

Of course, most Republicans don't bother to think too much. They just accept whatever drivel the cable and talk news show feed them. No need to bother with those nasty facts; they just make it up as they go along.

Personally, I like experience. If I have an operation, I want the surgeon to have experience. Same with politicians. Those with experience can get things done.

There are many honorable and professional Secret Service pros. There are also some radical RW in the Secret Service. The secret Service is infamous for their many secrets. Any one of them can say or write a pack of lies and no one would know the truth.

If an agent was found to be radical and a possible danger to the President, current or future, he could be asked to leave the Secret Service. The agent would be able to write what they want and make themselves appear to be one of the brave and dedicated to take a bullet for a president.

New York Times bestseller, Life Inside the Bubble is an intimate look at life inside the presidential bubble, by Dan Bongino.

Claiming that Barack Obama "pals around with terrorists" even though she was warned against using such rhetoric, right up to the infamous gun sights on certain congressional districts, including Gabby Giffords', allowed others to follow suit.

Now,Trump has taken the vitriol to a whole new level and he has succeeded in getting angry white men with guns to think that the only way to save their Second Amendment rights is to use them to wipe out a threat - that being Hillary Clinton.

We had an interesting conversation with a barista in Copenhagen a couple of years ago. The fellow had spent some time in the US and simply could not understand why people here complain about high taxes. Of course, he also said that, while 50% or so of his income went to taxes, he got so much more in return for each tax "krone" than the Americans he had met.

    2. The Secret Service was, at Palin's request, in the house next door. A few feet away. So close that when Joe McGinniss occupied it, Sarah claimed that he was peeping into Diaper's window. A baby monitor would have been sufficient to call for the Secret Service to enter the Palin household, and they could have been given a key so they wouldn't have to break down a door.

But that would have taken common sense. Remember- Barstool didn't have a phone! Just a land line! (That always makes me think of that hilarious scene in the movie "In and Out" where the supermodel is trying to call her agent and the phone has- gasp!- A DIAL!! and she screams!)

I am not only worried about our next president, Hillary Clinton, I am also worried about her Secret Service detail getting caught in an ambush incited by Trump's rhetoric. The Republicans needs to take control of their party.

Trump recently bought another 1.5 million fake twitter followers. He had 2.5 million fakes (screenshot of audit at link):

Hello, anyone who is a prominent celebrity or politician purchases FB or Twit followers. Social media on a broad scale is a morass of purchased likes.

      That's why I don't do it.

I have three "friends" on my private Livejournal account. We use it more like a substitute e-mail than anything else.

Well, Hillary did something similar back in 2008. She got beat the fuck up by even liberal news organizations.

She also defended a child-rapist back in 1975 Arkansas. Instead of the 30 years in prison he deserved, she plea-bargained it down to less than a year in county jail.
The young girl was so badly damaged from the rape that she was unable to bear children. GOOGLE IT. If you dare.

4:07 i DID google it and you are cherry-picking your 'facts'... Hillary did not want to do it but once it was in her lap, she would have been breeching her fiduciary duty to not do the best for her client.

Hillary was spoken to by SS in 2008 as well since Barack Obama already had twice the SS protection during his campaign due to death threats.

Dinesh D'Souza is out there pushing his anti Clinto propaganda with his new movie, Hillary's America, like he did when he made Obama 2016. The conservatives I know keep asking me if I have seen it and I reply that I am not interested in propoganda films. D'Souza is a lying pos. He was convicted and went to prison for election fraud. And these people swallow this idiotic "documentary" like it is the gospel truth. Stupidity and ignorance are the biggest enemies of this country.

I can't find anything here about the new batch of emails she "forgot" to turn over. The ones that tell the story of trading donations to the Clinton Foundation for favors and weapons. Where can I find that?

It's kind of a non-story. maybe that is why Uncle G wont waste his time on it.
