Okay help me out with this. Has ANYBODY ever been thrown out of a Republican rally for holding up a copy of the Constitution before?

Courtesy of HuffPo:

Several protesters were thrown out of a Donald Trump rally in Portland, Maine, on Thursday after they interrupted the GOP nominee’s stump speech by standing and holding up pocket-sized copies of the U.S. Constitution in the air.

You know I have made comments about being down the rabbit hole before, but folks we are REALLY down the rabbit hole here.

Typically Republicans speak of the Constitution as if it is written by God right along with the Bible, but apparently after Khizr Khan held one up during the Democratic convention it lost all value to the conservatives.

That is just amazing.

P.S. Is this the right place to mention that according to a recent McClatchy-Marist poll Hillary Clinton is now leading Trump by 15 points nationally?

A very unique GoPee campaign...dissing veterans including those KIA, kicking out babies, kicking out those holding a pocket sized copy of the US constitution....unfuckingbelievable.

Yes, and the crowd looked and acted like the pitchfork and torches masses. I just hope Trump doesn't quit the campaign cause the Dems will get a blowout turnout and we would then have at least 2 years to get some solid progressive laws on the books. Not to mention the Supreme Court.

Mr.Khan held up that pocket sized constitution so these people must be showing support for him by doing this. Or they love the constitution. Or they are mocking Trump who probably hasn't read it. So Hillary was more than correct when she said that Trump is easily provoked by a tweet. He is easily provoked by the constitution, free speech, anyone who opposes him, anything that shows that he is not 100% in full command. Yes, he is that thin skinned that he is afraid of the constitution, because he doesn't know what's in there. Maybe Ivanka could read it to him.

Trump Throws A Tantrum While Defending Kicking A Crying Baby Out Of His Rally

......Trump defended kicking a baby out of his rally by saying, “This was a beautiful baby and beautiful mother, and the baby was crying, and I jokingly said you know what? Let the baby cry. You know something to that effect. We love babies. Then about two minutes later, it didn’t stop. It just went on, and I’m trying to speak in front of thousands. We had thousands of people in the room. And I said, alright. I actually said the first time keep the baby in the room. Then after about two minutes, I said you know what? I’m going to counteract my order. Beautiful baby, meh. If you take her outside, that’s not so bad.”

The problem with the baby episode is that the mother should have been intelligent enough to leave the baby at home. Political rallies, movies, theatre events, these are no places for babies, but it seems that more and more people are just dragging them everywhere instead of leaving them with nanny or sitter.

I've noticed that Ivanka left the infants at home. Chelsea left her infants at home. Kudos to both of them.

Someone first reported that Trump people had the pocket Constitutions, but then it was realized that these were protesters. I saw things happen on TV. At that rally Trump said they must be Bernie supporters because Hillary supporters don't do anything (are boring, lack energy).

I love the idea of everyone--both for holding at Hillary rallies and when protesting at Trump ones--getting a pocket Constitution and bringing it. I read last week I read that the ACLU was giving out free ones. I like the idea for what it says about Trump's lack of knowledge, and I like it as a statement of support for the Khan family. Mr. Khan has not been making more appearances. It was never his intention to do so but he felt the need to speak more, and now he wants to be away from the cameras. I think people with the Constitutions can speak for him and keep everyone reminded about Trump's horrible behavior.

Trump is now letting himself be rehabilitated. He may finally have accepted that he's been blowing it--the polls are just horrible for him. His rally today included many talking points on paper that he was given, and he kept going back to them. He didn't sound as insane. He did go into his usual evil media spiel, but he performed better today and was not so bad yesterday. When I say this, of course I mean that he was an idiot, but he was less insane sounding and he did cover the talking points that were handed to him. If he can keep doing this, the next polls will show a narrowing.

I like how Hillary's been handling things, but I think that very soon she needs to get more of the big guns out there speaking in support of her. Things have died down somewhat (they're out there stumping but a lot of the rally stuff isn't being shown on TV)--I want them to get riled up again. I think Trump is going to work hard at narrowing the poll numbers. Tonight he'll be in WI and he'll endorse Ryan. Supposedly Ryan and the other big-name GOP there are going to be busy, but I won't be surprised if this turns int a big-deal rally with the endorsement and Trump basking in the glory and pics of him next to Ryan being all over the papers the next day.

Just referring to the changes to his speaking engagements yesterday and today. Of course things usually don't last with Trump, but the poll numbers may have scared him. Again, at least for now. I like to know my enemy and so I do watch his rallies, and I am seeing differences, plus we all know that people have been trying to get through to him. The attempt has been made, and it's obvious that he's trying to make himself listen. The bar is set low for this guy. If he doesn't make any major fuck ups this weekend, I think his poll numbers won't look as bad next week. I think the Dems ought to do more to counter events with less of his screw-ups (if they continue--he just may be able to contain himself for a good stretch). His lack of major fuck-ups could be met with some PR by the big guns and keep those numbers down as low as they are today. Why wait until the fall and why not start peppering in some events with some of those who spoke at the Dem convention.

Who the hell knows anymore?? Seriously. It’s okay to boo the Constitution, it’s okay to yell at babies, It’s okay to encourage violence—hell Trump is even suggesting if he’s not elected there will be bloodshed. His followers are nuts enough to do just that.

I live with this shit daily. I’m in redder than you can imagine Texas. In the 2008 campaign the folks around here were sure Sister Sarah was the answer. “Oh isn’t she brave telling the world about the danger we live in from “others.” Yeah you knew who the “others” were no doubt. It was kind of in code, but you knew. This go ‘round? Lordy…They aren’t even trying to dress it up in Sunday Best, no no no…they’ve pulled it out on the front porch parading that shit and they are PROUD of it. Yes, so proud that they are freely using racial slurs and talking about their country back . (I’ve yet to figure out what they’re taking their country back from..but hey Republicans what can I say?)

Nothing surprise me with this election cycle amymore...absolutely nada. But I do know if they win...if they manage to work a miracle and get Trump elected or replace him and win we're all screwed.

They're talking about taking America back from the black man that has been running things for 8 years.

As my dear old racist southern uncle says, "Trump may be crazy but at least he's white". This man manages a corporation with over 600 employees, and yes, some of them are even black, but he still refers to black people as the "N" word, and is racist as the day is long.

Little Donnie must have overheard some of his staff talking about him and thought he would project those traits onto Hillary:
    --------------

    Associated Press

Republican Donald Trump is lashing out at Hillary Clinton as he campaigns in Iowa, declaring her "pretty close to unhinged."

Trump told supporters at a Friday rally in Des Moines that, "if Hillary Clinton becomes president, you will have terrorism. You will have problems. You will have really the destruction of our country from within. "

He went on to label her as "unstable," ''a dangerous liar" and says she "lacks the judgment, temperament and moral character to lead this country."

"She's really pretty close to unhinged," he adds. "She's really like an unbalanced person."

The insults come as Trump has come under criticism from Republicans for getting sidetracked by other issues when he should be attacking Clinton.

He's unhinged so she is. He's unstable so she is. She's a dangerous liar, lacks judgment, moral character, doesn't have the temperament for the office.

All Trump's weaknesses. And he's not fooling anyone because those things have all been said about Trump before he's tried to deflect them to Clinton.

I'm sure the only reason he wasn't a Democrat during Obama's terms is because he's black. Trump still believes he's a muslim born in Kenya. That's the ONLY reason he's running. “I don’t think we’ve ever seen anything quite like this,” said David Kochel, a former strategist for Mitt Romney and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush’s presidential campaigns. “To have a candidate who reflexively takes the bait on any perceived slight, picks needless fights with his own party after the convention, constantly punches down and obsesses with his own cable news coverage is something we’ve never seen before.”

Stuart Stevens, a top aide to Mitt Romney’s 2012 campaign and a frequent Trump critic, noted that other candidates have imploded before. No one, he argues, has done it quite as spectacularly and with such a large potential for damage as Trump.

“Donald Trump is Todd Akin. He is Richard Mourdock and Sharron Angle,” he said, referring to three infamous Republican Senate candidates who committed fatal verbal miscues. “But that is really not fair to Akin, Mourdock and Angle. They weren’t nuts. They had political views and others that made them unelectable. With Donald Trump, it is instability. He is an absurd candidate for president. He is a neutron bomb that has gone off in the Republican Party that is destroying anyone near him.”
