This 90 yr old stood up, Obama told him he didn't have to stand. He said, "No Sir, you're the President."

Now that is how you show respect to your President.

I wonder if he could give lessons to the Republicans.

The gop has disrespected our President for years. They will NEVER change. It must gall them that a black man is smarter and more popular than any of them are. Look at their candidate, a phsychopathic liar and fraud. tRump is their kind of candidate.

Respect matters. This quite elderly gentleman who lived through much of the 20th century and the attendant turmoil of civil rights, understands that as citizens, the office of POTUS merits a modicum of respect.

Dick Cheney did not stand for the swearing-in of President Obama on January 20, 2009 (of course he was in a wheel chair too).

"I wonder if he could give lessons to the Republicans. " The answer to that is "NO".

  5. The Republicans need to go back to kindergarten so they can learn the basic facts and skills of life. Respect self and others, cooperate and work together, take care of your responsibilities, always do your very best, stay on task until goals are reached, think of others first and self last, be honest, kind, and fair, show mercy to the less fortunate, and treat others as you desire to be treated.

Mitch McConnell, Tom Cotton, Ted Cruz, and many others have been utterly hateful and so disrespectful toward President Obama. They have no idea how to govern, lead, or legislate. They are a bunch of lazy bums, moochers, and deadbeats, IMHO.

Maybe all those GOTP'ers did not go to kindergarten. Many states did not/do not require that its children attend. School aged begins at 1st grade.

Everything one needs to know for life and living among others, was learned (or should have been learned) in kindergarten as you outlined.

Thank you for making the basic civility lessons for human beings clearly understood. You said it well.Pre-school, kindergarten, and much early religious instruction overs basic social life lessons.

Maybe Donald and your list of those who exhibit hatefulness toward the POTUS slept through kindergarten if they attended at all.

Let's not forget the stories that have come out about the Donald over the years: as a 6 year old throwing rocks at a toddler, physically attacking a teacher, ripping put handfuls of his first wife's hair....

Ivana Trump gave SWORN TESTIMONY that Trump not only tore out her hair, but actually raped her.

Later on (no doubt due to money or lawyers) she said that wasn't exactly how it happened.

Trump is a psychopath, a narcissist, and an incredibly selfish and ignorant bastard

Jim's answer as a vet, read this regarding RESPECT:IF Kaepernick doesn't feel his country respects him enough for him to respect it in return, well, then you can't MAKE him respect it."If THAT's what matters to you, the illusion of respect, then you're not talking about freedom or liberty. You're NOT talking about the United States of America. Instead you're talking about every dictatorship from the Nazis to North Korea where people are lined up and MADE to salute with the muzzle of a gun pressed to the back of their necks. Not so a man should be forced to show respect he doesn't feel. (That MAN RESPECTS>"No Sir, you're the President.") Jim continues>
That's called SLAVERY and I have no respect for that at all The right to use your voice, your actions, to bring attention to the things you believe in. The right to want more for others, freedom, liberty, justice, equality, and RESPECT."
That, that illusion of respect, is not why I wore a uniform."

BRAVO JIM! This is what our freedom SHOULD bring...>
In the famous Supreme Court case of Texas v. Johnson in 1989, a five-justice majority ruled that desecrating the American flag was protected speech under the First Amendment to the US Constitution.
    Just last week this happened>

    Two things:

    Respect cannot be taught.

The current crop of Republicans have shown that they have no capacity to learn anything.

As heartwrenching as it is, President Obama deserves this treatment from lesser men and women every day, for instance Republicans, Congress and duck hunters. This interaction shows deserved respect on both sides. Thanks for sharing it.
