While currently polling nine points behind Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump tells his supporters that if he loses Pennsylvania it will be due to "cheating."

Courtesy of Politico:

Donald Trump again raised the specter of election fraud Friday, saying that the only way he would lose Pennsylvania is to Hillary Clinton is if "they cheat."

The Republican nominee, speaking at a rally in Altoona, Pennsylvania, repeated his concerns about the fairness of the election.

“The only way we can lose, in my opinion — I really mean this, Pennsylvania is if cheating goes on and we have to call up law enforcement and we have to have the sheriffs and the police chiefs and everyone watching because if we get cheated out of this election, if we get cheated out of a win in Pennsylvania, which is such a vital state especially when I know what is happening here,” he said. “She can’t beat what’s happening here. The only way they can beat it in my opinion, and I mean this 100 percent, if in certain sections of the state they cheat.”

I have a news flash, Donald Trump IS going to lose Pennsylvania.

In fact he is almost certainly going to lose the entire election.

But what happens when he does and then claims that the election was stolen?

In 2000 many progressives, myself included, believed that Al Gore won the presidential election and that it had been stolen from him by the Supreme Court.

In response we bitched and complained online, and then got our shit together and started working to get more Democrats elected, and to ultimately take back the White House. Which we did in 2008.

That's how Democrats handled a stolen election.

The question is how does a party made up of 2nd Amendment enthusiasts, who are convinced that the "left wing" media "makes stuff up," and that the polls are purposefully skewed against their candidate, going to respond to a loss. Especially with the candidate himself also screaming that he was robbed?

Just when you thought things could not get more terrifying.

Only his freak supporters would believe that and they will believe that anyway.

But even his freak supporters understand what "behind in all the polls" means.

Remember how Donald Trump paid professional actors 50 bucks to attend his announcement speech posing as supporters? Ever wonder how much free beer those crowds of his have consumed?

Yep,Trump is using what has been a legit claim by Dem minority precincts to make up an excuse for his loss months before it happens. Si many things have been done to eliminate black votes, but at least jus=dges lately have been throwing out the ID laws as unconstitutional. For the GOP to make the claims that have been legit for Dems is just so ugly. Now Trump's site has a signup for becoming a poll watcher. He is all into this excuse for losing. He'll surely come up with a couple other preemptive excuses.

Katy Tur said a few minutes ago on MSNBC that Reince and others are on the road w/ Trump and taking turns basically babysitting him to keep him on message. The signs he's suddenly been using are a visual aid to keep him on message.

Even with Reince babysitting the trump, it won't help. He is insane and I hope the polls next week show Hillary up by 20 points in Pennsylvania and everywhere else.

Wouldn't surprise me if we see squads of fat while males (IOW Trump supporters) menacing black folks with guns in the voting lines.

Trump's pointed reference to how voters in "certain sections of the state"
"One of the things that this can do is get rogue people riled up. Trump sets the fuse and lets someone else do the explosion," Hasen said. "It strikes me as a very dangerous thing to be suggesting, because it does lend itself to the possibility of violence at the polls."

So what? What good is it if they do it and then the Democrats sue AFTER THE ELECTION? It's too late. The voters have already been denied.

That's why the Republicans do this shit.

Like when the gerrymandering crap in Texas was overturned a few years later. Too late. The Republicans were already in Congress and Rick Perry was Governor.

There are no do-overs and the damage is already done.

Just look at both terms of G.W. Bush.

This jackhole needs to be told, in no uncertain terms, that words have consequences and that anything that happens after the election because of his statements about "rigged" elections will be hung around his neck. He will be held responsible. AND those that stood with him will be held responsible also, too. That's YOU prince rheebus.

Brings back memories when w. Bush stole the election very blatantly. They were very underhanded and the system was so corrupt that no one got sent to jail instead Bush gave each and everyone of them positions. I hope they all burn in their own little hell. We are still reaping what they sowed from that presidency.

The problem won't be Trump supporters voting more than once, which is just about impossible to do, despite all the right wing claims to the contrary.

The thing to worry about is armed Trump supporters showing up at polling places in areas that are mostly Democratic and intimidating people into not voting at all.

Back in 2012, wasn't it a Republican from PA who bragged that the GOP would win, based on the vote suppression efforts there? What we all need to do is get everyone out to vote for the Dems so that Trump and the GOP are totally humiliated and there is NO WAY that they can claim cheating for the loss.

I want a Democratic landslide. Shut them the fuck up for a long while as the country moves forward with progressive people in office.

I just read an op ed by Pat Buchanan on WND (and yes, I feel like I need a shower and a rabies shot). He claims that the crowds at Trump rallies prove that he should win and there is "something fraudulent about American democracy, something rotten in the state" if he doesn't.

What's really scary is not the article itself, but the comments from the RWNJs. They are convinced that all the polls are wrong, the media is all in collusion to make him look ridiculous and incompetent (because quoting him exactly is somehow manipulating his words), and there will be an armed insurrection if he loses this election. They have clearly been spending too much time watching 'Red Dawn' because they're convinced that large swaths of the military and police will join them, and the guerrilla tactics they use will overwhelm the United States military.

There is a lot of Crazy in this country and it's being dangerously and irresponsibly stirred up by Trump, his surrogates and supporters.

Americans would be right to wonder – and worry about – Donald Trump’s end game. His campaign is hurrying toward disaster in November. His rate of saying stupid things seems to grow exponentially, racing the rate at which our sea levels are rising. And he has predicted his own failure, not as a result of the incredibly stupid things he has said and continues to say, but because of an imagined plot to keep him out of office.

“I’m afraid the election is going to be rigged,” he said last week in Ohio. On Friday, he added to this dystopian scenario the claim that,

“We’re going to watch Pennsylvania. Go down to certain areas and watch and study and make sure other people don’t come in and vote five times. If you do that, we’re not going to lose. The only way we can lose, in my opinion — I really mean this, Pennsylvania — is if cheating goes on.”

In truth, this is more likely a sign of cognitive dissonance: He can’t lose because, as he claims, he speaks for the silent majority. A defeat when numbers make it impossible to lose, can only mean the election was rigged.

Voted in a local election today. The election monitors were talkative and I asked about the possiblity of voter fraud. All laughed heartily and said that would be quite difficult. So, Donnie Drumpf, just how would on go about voter fraud?

Wow, voting on a Saturday! You must be from a very progressive state. We're stuck with Tuesdays here in AK and they moved our voting location from 1/2 mile away to a full 3.5 miles away. Gerrymandering, but we still try to get to the polls even though it is on a work day and even a less convenient location.

Don't know where you're located our beloved state, but we do have early voting in many locations. From the Division of Elections web site:

Beginning 15 days prior to an election, and continuing through Election Day, voters may vote:

Absentee early at a Regional Elections Office in the jurisdiction where the voter is registered. Regional offices are located in Juneau, Anchorage, Wasilla, Fairbanks and Nome; or

Absentee in-person at any Regional Elections Office or absentee voting location.

If you're in Anchorage, I'm happy to help you get to your precinct for Tuesday's preliminary.

      Glad you're a voter!

I hope when he has lost the election and has to see what defeat actually feels like, that he takes care of himself so that we never hear from him again!

Trump will go down in history as the worst candidate that has ever run for President.

I still cant believe it has come to this. That such an idiot was allowed to get this far.Note this as the downfall of the Republican Party. They own it and it started with Palin.

They let the idiots in with her by catering to the lowest common denominator. It's humiliating, they have to know what other countries think about this. Our Allies watch in shock as Trump bleats out one stupid remark after another.

Trump is an anarchist and a sociopath. People comparing him to Hitler really is not that far fetched. He blames others for any loss its not his fault everything is "rigged" .

This is the most unqualified person to ever run in the history of America and the most unstable.

He is the voice for all the losers, bigots, gay bashers and old farts who want an America back where "Those people" knew their place and stayed silent.

He has given bullies a voice. He has made manners and common decency a sign of weakness instead of class. He has butted into private citizens business like some kind of demigod.

Vote this ass out. That is our power.
