Donald Trump's son tweets image comparing refugees to poisoned candy.

Courtesy of NPR:

The post by the Republican presidential candidate's son immediately went viral. It earned the support and praise of many Trump supporters, who worry that an influx of refugees poises an existential security threat. It also drew condemnation from many who viewed the tweet as a flip, dehumanizing way to address a humanitarian catastrophe affecting more than 13 million people.

The makers of Skittles were quick to join the second camp. "Skittles are candy. Refugees are people," a spokeswoman for the candy's parent company, Wrigley, said in a widely distributed statement. "We don't feel it's an appropriate analogy. We will respectfully refrain from further commentary as anything we say could be misinterpreted as marketing."

Damn! Nothing says elitist POS quite like comparing people to food.

And we wonder how the terrorists are able to convince folks living in this country, who are being treated as if they are less than human, to go on killing sprees.

The question to be asked is why are there not more of them?

Update: As it turns out the guy who took the Skittles picture is an ex-refugee.

Because you know irony is literally saturating this election cycle.

And you failed 3rd grade English. Your sentence should have been written as " You guys are the poisoned skittles". But then your poor sentence structure tells me that you are a danger to the "Mom and Pop, apple pie, and the flag of the U.S.A."!
As a U.S.A. Army Veteran I think you should be deported until you can pass the 6th grade.

The US is only being asked to take another 10,000 next year and you bet they will be heavily vetted before being allowed into our country so I think we should just try a smidgen and if they prove to be too troublesome we just don't take anymore. Easy, right?

No one is forcing this upon us and we can easily just say no and let Europe keep taking them on, many times with bad consequences, but it might make other countries look more favorably upon us if we just take a few and see if it works.

Chances are they won't even like it here; many are extremely unhappy in the European countries that they've landed in so hopefully they will all just be able to go back home in the next few years and it will be an argument no longer.

Yeah, wasn't there some KKK idiot that tried to create a metaphor using Skittles? Something to the effect that Skittles taste better if they are segregated by color?

Then Donald Jr. posts the "Deplorables" picture that has Pepe the Frog in it?

This stuff can't be a mere coincidence.

Donald Trump Jr. is not doing a very good job of hiding that he is a full-class KKK-style white supremacist.

The photographer has every right to go after the Trumps for stealing his property, but he isn't pursuing it. But I'm glad word is out there that once more shows how the Trumps simply do as they please. Trump thinks he owns the word "trump" and keeps trying to stop people from using it, but his son has no qualms about stealing an image to use.

Now Trump has an ad that includes Ted Nugent, who of course has said numerous despicable things about the pres and Hillary and who also is known for posting anti-Semitic things online and to scoff at victims.

Trump is scum. I used to think that he could rape a five-year-old child and get away with it. Make that an infant now. He still might get away with it. At the very least, his many twisted pedophile supporters would love it.

    1. Slight O/T, but adds another damning piece to his lack-of-ethical-character profile -- The Washington Post story about his use of his charity to pay his bills.

"More broadly, these cases also provide new evidence that Trump ran his charity in a way that may have violated U.S. tax law and gone against the moral conventions of philanthropy.

"'I represent 700 nonprofits a year, and I’ve never encountered anything so brazen,” said Jeffrey Tenenbaum, who advises charities at the Venable law firm in Washington. After The Washington Post described the details of these Trump Foundation gifts, Tenenbaum described them as “really shocking.'

"'If he’s using other people’s money — run through his foundation — to satisfy his personal obligations, then that’s about as blatant an example of self-dealing [as] I’ve seen in awhile,” Tenenbaum said.

"The Post sent the Trump campaign a detailed list of questions about the four cases but received no response."

Trump used $258,000 from his charity to settle legal problems
The use of money in four new cases appears to violate the laws that govern charities.

I find the Trump family to be, and have a long history of being, rabid racists!

They are following the path of the Hitler regime which is the most frightening. That fact alone and foremost should have the attention of America and the world!

We need to assure Donald Trump gets nowhere near the White House. He will ruin our country by gaining control of our government! He is speaking the words the Republican Party has been and felt for years, but they have tried to keep them hidden. Not any longer! Donald is their spokesman and man of choice to be POTUS effective 2017. Adolph Hitler II

I see a president Trump creating civil war within our communities, towns and states as well as wars throughout the world.

      Donald Trump is pure evil!

the poisoned candy analogy goes back even further, to an anti-Semitic children’s book published by Julius Streicher, the publisher of the Nazi newspaper Der Stürmer who was executed in 1946 as a war criminal.
The book tells the tale of “the poisonous mushroom,” and was used to indoctrinate children in hate.
"“Just as poisonous mushrooms spring up everywhere, so the Jew is found in every country in the world,” the story’s mother explains to her son. “Just as poisonous mushrooms often lead to the most dreadful calamity, so the Jew is the cause of misery and distress, illness and death.”

He should have made the analogy of eating at a Trump casino or hotel, since people have developed food poisoning at them more than any other!! The health inspector in Atlantic City said they have more complaints about tainted food at the tRump places than all the others combined. Rancid food, cockroaches etc. One man died after dining at the tRump place in Atlantic City. They sued, and won the case. Also, they have found roaches and spoiled, outdated food at the tRump Tower in NY. Maybe that is why tRump goes out to fast food places for his meals?

The Republican Party is trying to take the United States back to the early 20th Century.

Obama’s veto message is a reminder of why elections matter.

If elected president, Donald Trump has vowed to get rid of health and safety regulations. No matter who wins the election, the House is likely to be still controlled by Republicans.

As Obama has demonstrated time and again, a Democratic president is the last line of defense against the dangerous Republican agenda.

Vote like your life depends on it in November, because judging from the legislation coming out of the Republican-run House, it just might.

How DO you shut this down? You cannot except by YOUR VOTE to undermine shenanigans the GOP are going to try as they have for years. It comes down to us.

John Oliver was on "Ellen" today and said, if they win, and even if they don't, this is the new face of the GOP because it it's now become "acceptable." The media is so complacent in this, I don't even know where to begin.

The only way to shut it down is for the media to start doing their jobs. That isn't going to happen. It would harm their profits and frankly, I don't think they have the talent, guts or knowledge to do it.

I think the debates are a prime example. None of them, including Anderson Cooper, are going to hold Trump's feet to the fire or expose him nationally on what we all know he is, a serial liar, lightweight, know nothing media whore completely unsuitable for the office of President. They will bend over so far to prove they are not biased they will let him walk on everything and do nothing but attack Hillary. It will be Matt Lauer times 4.

And, it's even more frightening there are Americans that support their every move. Plus, I've learned I actually have Republicans friends and family members that are behind Trump, which has really baffled me!

Wonder how many other folks are running into the same thing? The family members are the most difficult. We cannot discuss our opinions as it ticks the other off! This is the first time I've seen such divide and I'm a senior!

    "Ok-well the point is-"

"I would GORGE myself on skittles. I would eat every single fcking

found the poison skittle and died I would make sure to leave behind a
