Kremlin says that President Obama's criticisms of Donald Trump are "anti-Russian." Just in case you were wondering which country Trump was representing.

Courtesy of Reuters:

The Kremlin said on Wednesday it viewed U.S. President Barack Obama's recent statements on Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump as anti-Russian and said they were unlikely to improve fragile relations between Russia and the United States.

Obama on Tuesday strongly criticized Trump for praising Russian President Vladimir Putin and for appearing on a TV channel, RT, funded by the Russian government.

"Unfortunately, we see continued displays of often hard-core Russophobia," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, commenting on Obama's intervention, told a conference call with reporters. "We can only express regret in this regard.

"This rhetoric, which is being formulated in electoral campaign style ... is unlikely to help fledgling fragile attempts to build at least some sort of mutual trust."

I would assume that the Kremlin meant to frame this as a condemnation of Obama's use of Trump's ties to Russia as a criticism.

However for a foreign government to criticize a sitting president for how he talks about a presidential candidate, and to suggest that by doing it that way he is damaging future interactions with that foreign government, is more than a little heavy handed.

Essentially at this point Putin might as well show up to Trump rallies and help energize the crowd.

At this point I really don't think it would turn off Trump supporters.

Now personally I have never been somebody who bought into the whole Russia evil, America good narrative. However I don't think it is anti-Russian to distrust Vladimir Putin anymore than it was anti-American for other countries to distrust George W. Bush.

And ANYBODY who Putin is pushing for in an American election is somebody that the voters should view with a very critical eye indeed.

So do you think Obama is a "friend of Mother Russia" or a "Putin stooge" now that he's agreed to join Putin's pro-Assad coalition in Syria?

Nope, a dime. The old cost for a call from a public phone. Donald's mother taught him that. And even in Donald's penny loafers, he used dimes.

I only recently became aware of Russia Today - based in Washington. This is the channel where Trump recently had his interview with Larry King.
On The Daily Beast there is an article by Olivia Nuzzi who highlights the work done there by Ed Schultz (formerly of MSNBC) and Larry King. Worth a read - especially since probably most people are not even aware of this channel.

    Father like Daughter

    Washington Post
Where Ivanka Trump’s Cosmo interview went off the rails

When we say the Donald Trump campaign has a volatile relationship with "the media," we're generally talking about The Washington Post, the New York Times, CNN, Politico and other news agencies that scrutinize his policies and rhetoric. We're not talking about Cosmopolitan magazine, a publication that describes its focus as "fun, fearless advice on men, love and sex, plus hot style trends and beauty secrets."

Or at least, we weren't until this week, when Ivanka Trump, the Republican presidential nominee's daughter, became irritated with the "negativity" in a Cosmo reporter's questions and abruptly ended a telephone interview Wednesday.

" if Republicans acted the way Clinton has, the media would be “warming up the gas chamber” for them."The guy is toying with flaming anti-Semitism as if it's a joke." "It's probably consistent with the rhetoric he heard around the house growing up."

Why is the news media not informing how Putin works the private companies....he demands 50% of their profits or else.

Putin, Putin, Putin! That's all I ever hear. Who have thought that Russia would make a back door play for our America. I just wonder how much we have sold out unknowingly to other governments? It would be interesting to hear how much Trump owes the communist so we know how much he's wheeling and dealing our asses away. When did America's people lost their power? I thought our government was founded on checks and balances. We hate each other that much, right? It's all about the hate.

The CBC(Canada),the Fifth Estate, did a documentary on how Putin consolidated all his power and money in Russia.

I wish they would show it on American networks because Putin is one dangerous guy.

And Putin's attacking Obama is Anti-American because Obama *IS* America.

You know, you can disapprove of a leader without dissing the people. In this case it's pretty easy since the people didn't have much choice in "electing" Putin.

As for Trump, if he become president I'm not so sure I'd blame the American people either, as it would be clear our electoral system was hacked and that our votes were being manipulated. Whether by the Russians or the Republicans via Diebold would have to be determined. But no one could convince me that Trump was elected legitimately. I still say Bush stole both of his terms and was never our legally elected president.
