New Clinton ad uses Donald Trump's debacle in Mexico against him, while her advisers prepare for a landslide victory.

You don't have to be a political pundit to have known this was coming.

In other Clinton news the FBI took the unprecedented step of releasing the notes from her interview over the private server.

Here is a tweet from the New York Times in response.
As expected there is no smoking gun, but of course the Right Wing is already sifting through it to find some molehill they can blow up into a mountain to use against her.

In spite of that her top advisers are optimistically predicting that this election will be a landslide for Hillary, and are preparing for that eventuality:

Advisers to Hillary Clinton’s campaign have identified so many paths to an Election Day victory they are now focusing not only on the one or two battlegrounds that would ensure a win but on opening up the possibility of an Electoral College landslide.

“Hillary Clinton has many paths to 270 electoral votes, more than any candidate in a generation,” said Jeff Berman, a paid consultant to her campaign.

Revealing a level of confidence Clinton’s inner circle has been eager to squash for weeks, outside advisers have now identified victories in Pennsylvania and New Hampshire as the path of least resistance, delivering for the Democratic nominee more than the 270 electoral votes needed to take the White House. And they are projecting increased confidence about her chances in Republican-leaning North Carolina, a state that could prove as critical as Ohio or Pennsylvania.

If I were one of these advisers I would be cautioning against counting unhatched eggs and telling everybody concerned to stay focused on the finish line.

We have all seen what can happen when you start celebrating early.

Oh yeah, that could happen.

Having said that I think that the campaign is making some very smart decisions.

On Monday there will be a Hillary Clinton documentary broadcast which will feature her addressing the Monica Lewinsky scandal head on:

"It was really hard. It was painful. And I was so supported by my friends. My friends just rallied around," the Democratic nominee told CNN's Pamela Brown in a clip from a forthcoming documentary set to air Monday night.

Speaking of her friends, Clinton said they would visit and "try to make me laugh, they would recommend books to read, we'd go for long walks, we'd hang out, you know eat bad food."

"Just the kinds of things you do with your friends, and it was something that you just had to get up every day and try to deal with while still carrying on a public set of responsibilities," Clinton said. "So it was very, very challenging."

I have been waiting for the campaign to do something like this as it will help defuse one of the Republican attack strategies as well as to help humanize her, which is something apparently that she still needs to do.

I think a lot of both female and male voters can commiserate with her over feeling betrayed by a significant other. And that will help them to see her as a person rather than the monster the conservatives have created and sold to the media.

I just read that the polls have tightened in PA. Hillary has barely been around while Trump has been on TV almost constantly. And now he's hired the head of Citizens United as his deputy campaign manager. I can't wait for the post-Labor Day move to really start with campaigning and all of the big names coming out for Hillary, too. She needs to be out there and refreshing everyone's memory about how well that whole Dem convention went.

    Hopefully, someone will answer this!

I had to miss Trump's helicopter landing in Mexico. I saw a blurb on YouTube but just very briefly of the copter before it went behind some trees. Was this Trump's own helicopter, so both his plane and copter flew to Mex? Did the news show what happened next? He landed at the presidential palace, yes?

That would mean, I'd think, that the pres actually went outside and met Trump and shook hands with him. Why did Trump helicopter in and not take a car to the palace--could it be because Nieto would not have met him at the airport, and we could all have mocked Trump for what he mocked Obama for in Cuba when Juan Castro didn't meet him at the airport?

I'm surprised that the pres of Mexico would even allow a helicopter of foreigners, some basically unknowns inside, to land like that on presidential grounds. I hope Trump saw guns pointing at him as he landed. Just in case. Nieto had every right to take such a precaution.

Don't count your chickens before they're hatched. Watch Rachel Maddow tonight and be prepared to be afraid that Donald Trump just may win this thing. Dirty Tricks will be used by him from here until November. He's got all the vile characters from the 90's working and advising him now. He's out for blood and he will stop at nothing. It just might be President Donald J. Trump when you wake up on November 9th.

What else did y'all say about her when the polls were showing that Sanders did better against Trump? But now we have to appeal to heaven she wins.

The Democratic nominee should be leading that clown by 20 points. The fact that she's not is entirely the fault of Hillary Clinton and the DNC.

Lisa Murkowski just put out a poll that was taken in Alaska - showing The Donald ahead of Hillary. Should we be surprised?

Lisa is a Republican - has come out in support of Trump to the State of Alaska and I'm sure ALL Republicans were called for the poll!

My land line phone never received a call with the questions, but then I'm not a registered Republican! I'm an Independent/Non Partisan.

Vote Hillary Clinton, Alaskans! We are a state that is turning blue in spite of what Lisa Murkowski jams down our throats!

Vote Murkowski out of office too because she is coming up for reelection. She is a doing nothing Republican in the United States Congress that has its lowest approval rating in years!

Murkowski is ineffective and has been that way for far too long!

@6:41 You're joking, right? The fact she's not leading "that clown by 20 points" is entirely the result of 30 years of an intense smear campaign by the GOP. Don't believe me? So some real research. The fact that she's still standing, and still willing to put up with their ugly, lying, filthy and constant lying is probably the best reason she SHOULD be your President. "She's been vetted for 30 years"

It's not the old info that's hurting her, it's the new 2016 info coming out every week. Just a sample of yesterday's self-inflicted damage. This isn't 30 year old right wing spin people, this is her own admissions in 2016:

      - The former Sec of State admitted she doesn't recognized classification markings on messages.
      - The former Sec of State admitted she doesn't recognize classified information when it's not marked. Relied on staff to send or not send or mark it.
      - A laptop and a thumb drive containing all the email off the server were lost in the US mail and she and her staff just let it go. "Extremely sensitive, highly classified information" sent through the US mail and lost.

      Delete
    7. Anonymous7:37 AM

      7:56 - you don't recognize a freefall:
      - Her average lead in 4 way (RCP) is half what it was in early August.
      - The last 3 polls this week show her in a tie, in the margin of error - tied, or Trump leading.
      - Her probability of winning on 538's polls only forecast has dropped from 89.4% on Aug 14 to 72.2% today
      - On his Nowcast prediction - who would win if the election were held today - it's even worse: She's fallen from 96.4% to 72% since Aug 8 and Nate hasn't updated yet for the new USC poll that has Trump leading by 3.

But, but, but electoral votes in the swing states? Check Ohio, PA and FL - the numbers there are following the national numbers.

She better get her face out on the TV box telling people why they should vote for her instead of huddling in the Hamptons with oligarchs or cramming for the debates because she's in a nosedive, freefall, sinking like a rock.

Imagine even a quarter of the such scrutiny into the lives of GOP politicos like John McCain, George W. Bush, or any of the Bushes, Mitt Romney, and, above all, Donald Trump. So much for the successful businessman. His success is getting morons to work for him and then successfully stiffing them for what he owes them.

"Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has run an unusually cheap campaign in part by not paying at least 10 top staffers, consultants and advisers, some of whom are no longer with the campaign, according to a review of federal campaign finance filings.

Those who have so far not been paid, the filings show, include recently departed campaign manager Paul Manafort, California state director Tim Clark, communications director Michael Caputo and a pair of senior aides who left the campaign in June to immediately go to work for a Trump Super PAC." (Even though that is illegal as they didn't wait 120 days. The PAC paid them $60,000 each for the month of June so I guess that's how he got them paid without paying them.)

She and Bill did it and have done an excellent job together in all the years since.

This should NEVER be an item in keeping her from being elected POTUS. The Republicans and Trump are truly 'weak' in bringing the matter to the forefront after all these years. John McCain wins his primary, promptly gives up on Donald Trump

Literally one day after winning his primary, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) gave up on Donald Trump. In fact, McCain now sounds a bit like he's betting on Trump losing — or, at least, looking like a loser for the rest of the campaign season — to help him win a sixth term in the Senate.

In a gauzy, five-minute YouTube video released Wednesday, McCain looks directly at the camera and says: "My opponent, Representative Ann Kirkpatrick, is a good person. But if Hillary Clinton is elected president, Arizona will need a senator who will act as a check — not a rubber stamp — for the White House."

McCain thinks that his faint praise ("my opponent is a good woman") is a line he used about President Obama when someone in his audience shouted that Barack Obama was "an Arab." Very faint praise. Just enough, in his mind, to disassociate himself from the birthers on the right (in 2008) and from the bullet-ridden poster (in 2016). Both President Obama and Ann Kirkpatrick are his betters and, deep down, he must realize that, just not enough to tell his supporters to stop the lies and violent hype.

President Barack Obama Will Guest-Edit WIRED’s November Issue

WIRED has had some amazing guest editors over the years. J.J. Abrams on magic, mysteries, and puzzles; Bill Gates on solving the world’s biggest problems; Christopher Nolan on space, time, and multiple dimensions; and, most recently, Serena Williams on equality in the digital age. This November we will add President Barack Obama to our guest editor ranks—the first time WIRED (or any other magazine) has been guest-edited by a sitting president.

The theme of the issue: Frontiers. Like WIRED, our 44th president is a relentless optimist. For this completely bespoke issue, he wants to focus on the future—on the next hurdles that humanity will need to overcome to move forward. These will include personal frontiers, from precision medicine to human performance; local frontiers, including using data in urban planning and making sure renewable energy works for everyone; national frontiers, from civil rights to medical data; international frontiers, like climate change and cybersecurity; and final frontiers, including space travel and Artificial Intelligence.

    Why the president? Why now?

Just as “states rights” were used as the dog whistle in the 1960’s as cover to protect Jim Crow laws that stripped African Americans of their constitution rights, the same argument is now being used to cover an attempt to strip them of their voting rights. This time, they’re also attempting to catch other people of color, students and the elderly in that net. But it’s pretty much the same play. Perhaps it’s time to start talking about a national right to vote and federal guarantees for that process.

The Right Wing people will never be persuaded over to Hillary. They have just been so brainwashed. Studies have shown, even when people are proven wrong their brain still hold the lies as truths. It's an idiosyncrasy of the brain. When voting day comes around, the majority of free thinkers in this country will vote Hillary. These are smart people who despite the negative persona that Hillary has been given by the RNC, these people can make up their own minds. So now, we know that Trump is getting desperate, and desperate people do desperate things. He's hired all sorts of people from the Right Wing archives to go after Hillary. No doubt Trump is being given these ideas on who to hire by Bannon. All these aging old men who for the weirdest reason have been trying to bring Hillary down for decades. They must be afraid of her. 21. I have admired Hillary for years and so does the world.

    August 11, 2016

PRINCETON, N.J. - Americans continue to name Hillary Clinton as the woman living anywhere in the world whom they admire most, and name Barack Obama as the man they admire most. Clinton has held the top women's spot in each of the last 13 years and 17 of the last 18, with that streak interrupted only by first lady Laura Bush in 2001 after the 9/11 terror attacks. Obama has been most admired man in each of the last seven years, beginning with 2008, the year he was elected president.

In total, Clinton has been most admired woman 19 times, easily the most of any woman in Gallup's history of asking the most admired question, six more times than Eleanor Roosevelt. Clinton won the distinction from 1993 to 1994 and 1997 to 2000 when she was first lady; from 2002 to 2008 when she was a U.S. senator; and from 2009 to 2012 when she was secretary of state. Although she has had no formal public role during the last two years, she retains a high enough profile to top the list. Clinton is the presumed front-runner for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination, should she decide to run.

    Please read more here:

    http://patraoneves.eu/MostPowerfulWomen/most-admirable-women

And the right wing claims she is a crook, that the Clinton Foundation that helps people all over the world is a scam and should be shut down just like Planned Parenthood, that she should be put in jail or deported. What a shame if politics forces the Clinton Foundation to stop helping people. I'm confident that Bill, Hillary & Chelsea will take the right steps in this matter.

In the meantime, back at the Wasilla compound for comparison, I just wanna know if that rock that hit Sarah in the head was hurt and which drunken family member threw it at her.

  22. Brad Friedman at http://bradblog.com/ has an interesting theory about why Trump is campaigning in states that aren't swing states: where it's assumed he's going to win or lose no matter what happens. He thinks Trump doesn't care about swing states because he doesn't want to win the electoral collage. Trump wants to win the popular vote but lose in the electoral collage. Then he doesn't have to actually be president, but he can whine about how he 'should' have won. You know, if the election wasn't rigged. Plus, that would give the Republicans plenty of justification for screwing Hillary every day of her presidency.

  25. I am alarmed at media coverage Trump is getting totally free while Clinton just gets one minute soundbites that she pays a fortune for. He's moving up in the polls, Reuter/Ipsos is putting him slightly ahead, and the slope of the curve of the poll models is alarming. I hope Clinton has very good people giving good advice and working on this. She doesn't need to fall at the finish line to lose. He's creeping up on her steadily. I only hope she is preparing well for the debate not literally get trumped. This is a serious situation

I noticed that all the news network were spouting a piece where they said people didn't like Hillary. Then they started this poll thing. About Donald gaining. Are they legit? Hard to tell. If you say something on the internet the news agencies repeat it two days later as if it were fresh. Go ahead start a rumor, and two days later Lester Holt will repeat it as if it were truth. Donald and Co. knows this. Right now you could start a rumor that Hillary is an alien, and tomorrow it will be all over the internet and then the television. It's called children with a new toy. What's really truth anymore?

I cannot begin to imagine the awful "October surprise" that those evil Trumpeters (and I include Vladimir Putin in their number) will unleash, probably on Halloween. They will never be held accountable for what they do - criminals one and all.

Exactly! And we the voters? Where do we fit in. Are we gullible? Where is our thinking? Are we so easily led? Is that what America has come to? Is that why Putin seems to be hovering in and around our politics? Because we are ripe for the taking with our compromised values? It's up to us voters to vote these bastards into oblivion. That's our line of defense. Push back!
