The cast of the West Wing is coming out to campaign for Hillary in Ohio.

Courtesy of the New York Daily News:

The cast of “West Wing” will reunite in Ohio over the weekend to stump for Hillary Clinton, the Democratic presidential nominee’s campaign announced.

Allison Janney (C.J. Cregg), Bradley Whitford (Josh Lyman), Richard Schiff (Toby Ziegler), DulĂ© Hill (Charlie Young), Joshua Malina (Will Bailey) and Mary McCormack (Kate Harper) will take part in grassroots organizing events across the battleground state.

The Emmy-winning drama was a highly idealistic idea of the political landscape in the ‘90s and early 2000s.

Not exactly a surprise that the cast from an Aaron Sorkin show are in the tank for Hillary, right Wingers?

And personally though I am quite impressed that this many West Wing alumni are willing to campaign for Hillary, I was even more impressed that Joss Whedon got this group together to speak out against Trump.

By the way, just so you know, when commenters come out swinging against the idea that celebrity endorsements or famous surrogates have much of an impact on the voting public, that is proof positive that they do indeed.

After all if it were really inconsequential it would not really be worth getting all worked up over. Right?

Right.

The Hillary Clinton campaign held a special press call to call on the debate moderator, media, and voters to fact check Donald Trump. In order to help the press, debate moderators, and voters fact check Trump, the Clinton campaign has released 19 pages of Trump lies.

Clinton can win the debate even if Trump doesn’t act unhinged. Here’s how.

There's a man who lives a few houses down from me, on the corner of an intersecting street. The front of his house is on the other street so all I usually see is the side of his house. He is old and not well and uses a scooter to get around. I've never spoken to him but his neighbor told me he is a very angry man and doesn't talk to anyone.

He used to have a number of flags flying all year round in his side yard, including a tattered American flag flying upside down. About 10 years ago the town cited him for the run-down condition of what used to be the garage and is now a side extension on his house so, to piss them off, he painted the siding black. He's got a silver tarp covering his front picture window, a black one covering the window of the front door, and cardboard covering the windows of the garage door. The yard is filled with tangled brush, broken sections of wooden privacy fence and other assorted trash. I have no doubt he's got several guns in the house.

The neighbor tried to sell her house a few years ago but the moment any prospective buyers saw his house next door, they kept right on driving. The previous owner of her house was a cop who was so concerned about the danger of living next to this man after he got married and had a baby that he moved to another part of town.

Today I had to drive down his street so I passed the front of the house. In the front window is a large campaign poster for...no surprise...Trump.

Take consolation in the fact that he is old and will soon join many other Republicans.

Hopefully the new owners will get a bargain and then fix it up real nice.

Deplorable? Trump more so than Clinton, AP-GfK poll finds

When Hillary Clinton said that half of Donald Trump's supporters belonged in a "basket of deplorables," Republicans thought they just might have found her campaign-crushing-blunder.

The gaffe, they hoped, was a way to cement an image as an out-of-touch snob, just as Democrats did four years ago to Mitt Romney after he said "47 percent" of voters backed President Barack Obama because they were "dependent on government."

But a new Associated Press-GfK poll finds that Clinton's stumble didn't have quite the impact that Trump and his supporters wanted. Instead, it's Trump who's viewed as most disconnected and disrespectful.

Sixty percent of registered voters say he does not respect "ordinary Americans," according to the poll. That's far more than the 48 percent who say the same about Clinton.

U.S. intel officials probe ties between Trump adviser and Kremlin

U.S. intelligence officials are seeking to determine whether an American businessman identified by Donald Trump as one of his foreign policy advisers has opened up private communications with senior Russian officials — including talks about the possible lifting of economic sanctions if the Republican nominee becomes president, according to multiple sources who have been briefed on the issue.

The activities of Trump adviser Carter Page, who has extensive business interests in Russia, have been discussed with senior members of Congress during recent briefings about suspected efforts by Moscow to influence the presidential election, the sources said. After one of those briefings, Senate minority leader Harry Reid wrote FBI Director James Comey, citing reports of meetings between a Trump adviser (a reference to Page) and “high ranking sanctioned individuals” in Moscow over the summer as evidence of “significant and disturbing ties” between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin that needed to be investigated by the bureau.

Hey G, it was Hil's idea:

“The Clinton camp reached out to us and said that there was interest and what we found out later that it was actually her idea,” Ackerman said. “A lot of times with ‘Between Two Ferns’ if it’s someone in entertainment, their publicist will reach out. Or in the case of Obama, the White House reached out, and you never quite know if the person knows that their people are reaching out about it. But in this case, Mrs. Clinton is the one who reached out about doing it, as she was a big fan of the Obama one.”

Ackerman also revealed that Clinton enjoyed filming the show so much that she gave him and host Zach Galifianakis more time than they had initially been allotted.

Why Clinton Will Keep Her Chill Against Trump’s Sexism In The Debate

Trump team builds 'psychological profile' of Clinton for debate

Donald Trump’s team has created a detailed analysis of Hillary Clinton’s debate style — including her body language and verbal tics — with the goal of helping the GOP nominee exploit weaknesses during Monday’s debate, according to three sources familiar with Trump’s preparations.

The “psychological profile,” as the analysis is being called, is based on a statistical analysis of videos from 16 years' worth of Clinton’s debates, dating back to her 2000 campaign for Senate in New York, according to the operatives. They said it was assembled with assistance from a political data firm called Cambridge Analytica that specializes in “psychographic” modeling of voters and donors, and that Trump’s top advisers have been pleased with the results.

The advisers believe that the profile proves that Clinton has significant weaknesses and that they have identified her ‘tells’ — words, phrases or gestures she uses when she’s unsure of an answer, or is trying to deflect her way out of an uncomfortable question, according to the operatives familiar with the preparations.

      Good luck with that.

Trump isn't a scholar and he doesn't cram for exams. He has a short attention span, loses interest quickly due to boredom, can't retain information or details and frankly, his personality thinks he doesn't need this sort of debate prep. He thinks he's so good he can just do what he always does and bluff, bluster and attack just like he did at the primary debates.

Hillary is well aware of her weaknesses and tells. I'm sure her people have the exact same information that was given to Trump's camp and they have been working on reducing, eliminating and redirecting any weakness or tell she has. I'm sure they also have been prepping her to deal with any sort of Trump personality that happens to show up that day.

In the end I don't think it is going to come down to which side has better intel or which candidate is more 'talented'. It is going to come down to who is more prepared. We know who that is going to be.

You know Gryphen, most of those of us who weighed in about not being influenced by celebrity endorsements did not "come out swinging.". We simply stated that we are not swayed by such endorsements.
This site has become more like the right-wing sites, in that failure to fall in line is not tolerated. Try not to get all worked up, OK?
