Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner has informally approached one of the media industry's top dealmakers about the prospect of setting up a Trump television network after the presidential election in November.
Mr Kushner — an increasingly influential figure in the billionaire's presidential campaign — contacted Aryeh Bourkoff, the founder and chief executive of LionTree, a boutique investment bank, within the past couple of months, according to three people with knowledge of the matter.
Their conversation was brief and has not progressed since, the people said. Mr Bourkoff and Mr Kushner both declined to comment.
However, the approach suggests Mr Kushner and the Republican candidate himself are thinking about how to capitalise on the populist movement that has sprung up around their campaign in the event of an election defeat to Democrat Hillary Clinton next month.
We have been hearing about this possibility for months but I think this is the first concrete evidence we have seen which demonstrates that Trump realizes he is about to lose and has this plan to start his own media empire once he does.
This might mean that not only is Trump determined to destroy the Republican party from within, but also has plans to do the same to Fox News afterward.

ReplyDeleteIt sounds so like Trump to want to yet again try expanding his supposed empire, and we know he's surrounded himself with guys who have plenty of media experience, and yet I have to question whether Trump would want to be so associated with the uneducated yahoo brand that adores him. If he goes with a TV network or online channel, he'll remain king of the embarrassing deplorables and he'll become absolutely tied, in all ways--and we know that the visuals are so important to him--to the blue collar nobodies who would never stay at one of his hotels and golf at one of his courses. It seems natural that he'd want to remain their king, and yet he is so abut appearances and making us all think that he is mister taste and refinery.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, the former governor who I'm sure the California worship almost as much as St. Ronnie, has come out against Trump in very powerful words. He says while he is a Republican he is an American first and he puts his country above his party. That is leverage against Issa and his ties to Trump.
Issa has that liar Giuliani defending him against the accusations Issa didn't do enough for 9/11 first responders. That will resonate here too.

(CNN)Melania Trump says her husband was "egged on" in the 2005 tape in which he made lewd comments about his own sexually aggressive behavior toward women -- remarks she says were "boy talk."
"I said to my husband that, you know, the language was inappropriate. It's not acceptable. And I was surprised, because that is not the man that I know," the wife of the Republican presidential nominee said in an exclusive interview with CNN's Anderson Cooper, which is set to air at 8 p.m. ET Monday.
"And as you can see from the tape, the cameras were not on -- it was only a mic. And I wonder if they even knew that the mic was on," she said, referring to Trump and NBC's "Access Hollywood" host Billy Bush.
She said they were engaged in "boy talk, and he was led on -- like, egged on -- from the host to say dirty and bad stuff."
It was the first on-camera defense Melania Trump has made of her husband since the tape was published by The Washington Post more than a week ago...

ReplyDeleteI caught a preview of AC360. In what I saw, Melania came across as arrogant. And she is so limited in her depth--she just doesn't get it. Pathetic creature. Well, to a point--she's pretty fucking into lying and doing whatever will get her what she wants! We know that from past ethical crimes she's committed.

Melania acts on both AC360 tonight and in a Fox interview tomorrow as if all the accusers are trash and Bill and Hillary are behind the accusations and the Billy Bush tape, and they deserve to be attacked back by Bill's accusers. Melania says "they asked for it." She smirks. She is so fucking evil!

She also seemed pleased that, according to her, only women reporters were writing stories that were writing anti-Melanaia stories--her smirk indicated that she thinks of them as envious. She said smugly that if it were up to Trump she'd be on the campaign trail all the time--she seemed to think she was the secret weapon but she wnated to be at home and be a mom (what an excuse to NEVER campaign!). What really killed me was how she went on and on about her nude photo stories and insisted that she was the truth teller and others were liars. Anderson should have asked her, next, what about what it said on her website bout having a degree, and what about the plagiarism. Yes, Donald is the one running for election, but she was going on and on about truth. I saw so much arrogance and smugness and an inability to sympathize with other women.
