Hillary Clinton: "I'm the last thing standing between you and the Apocalypse."

This is from a very expansive article in the New York Times, but I think it sums up Hillary Clinton's campaign in a frighteningly succinct way:

“Don’t blow this” is what Clinton hears most often these days, she told me, or variations thereof. As it has turned out, Clinton, who began her campaign intent on breaking the last barrier — the glass ceiling — has found her most compelling rationale in her own role as a barrier, a bulwark against the impossible alternative. As I was leaving our interview, she smiled, looked me in the eyes and left me with a casual reminder. “As I’ve told people,” she said, “I’m the last thing standing between you and the apocalypse.”

The truly terrifying thing about this last quote is its accuracy.

Yes for all intents and purposes Hillary Clinton is our only savior from a possible reality that is too pee in your pants scary for most of us to even contemplate.

Is she up to the job?

Please, this is Hillary Clinton we are talking about.

Hillary Clinton has half a lifetime's experience battling Right-wing conspiracies. Sarah Palin's little cult can say whatever bullshit they want but they can't make any of it true except in their fevered imaginations.

    2. Anonymous10:01 PM

Sarah should be still so mad at brissy for getting knocked up and ruining her chance at near the white house.

    3. Anonymous11:23 PM

Sarah never had a chance but don't blame Bristol. McCain is a crazy mean old man and Sarah does not have what my Gran called walking-around sense.

  9. Anonymous3:09 PM

I don't per se believe in the religious construct of the "apocalypse" but I do firmly believe that there will be a lot of unnecessary ugliness should Trump be elected.

Between the time he is sworn in and when they manage to impeach him he really could do some harm to this country.

VOX says this election isn't between Democrats and Republicans, it's between normal and abnormal.

Can't argue with that and can't let abnormal win.

  11. Anonymous3:18 PM

Lol. Now it is vote Hillary or face the Apocalypse?! Because that isn't fear campaigning or anything.

The Obama administration with Hillary as SOS allowed ISIS to flourish thru the Middle East and worldwide. This administration has restarted the cold war with our former enemies, supported the ouster and killing of Gaddafi, and is apparently hell bent on removing Assad from power at all costs, and why?

Will Hillary also get a Nobel Peace Prize?

The United States' Secretary of State at the time, Hillary Clinton, laughed and expressed delight with Gaddafi's death, stating "We came. We saw. He died."

    1. Anonymous3:46 PM

      Evidence, please.

    2. Anonymous3:48 PM

Assad is evil, as was his father. If I could I would remove all the Syrians and bomb the Assad family to hell so that there would never be another generation. He and Putin are killing the Syrians who only want to be free of generations of evil.

    3. Anonymous4:09 PM

What is removing or not removing Assad of any importance to the US 3:48? Is it worth war with Russia? Is it worth it because 'peace broker' Obama and Hillary are pushing it? Is it worth it to you? What is the vacuum that will be left behind if Assad it out? Another Libya fallen to ISIS?

    4. Anonymous6:25 PM

You are correct. When America unilaterally assassinates the leaders of sovereign nations someone or something much worse tends to fill the power vacuum.

How about let's fix America first and stay the hell out of the Middle East for a while?

  12. Anonymous3:33 PM

Speaking of pee your pants, that's what you folks running around claiming Podesta's emails are fake or doctored are going to do when Chris Wallace asks her next week at the debate whether she revealed classified information about the bin Laden hunt and raid in one of her private speeches. When she answers and doesn't say the leaked email was doctored, like she did last Sunday, she's going to confirm again that the emails are real. They're real, stop with the cloak and dagger red scare, commie behind every bush hysteria.

    1. Anonymous3:49 PM

NO amount of emails is going to save Trump. He will continue to do far worse damage to himself. Live with it.

      Back to your swamp.

    2. Anonymous4:15 PM

Chris Wallace who thinks it's important that journalists not concern themselves with the truth when they're 'acting' as moderators (or possibly any other time, he wasn't specific)? THAT Chris Wallace?

I'm sure Wallace will be so dazzled by the technicolor vomit coming from Trump that he won't have time for much more than the usual Benghazi and email bullshit.

You're making a lot of accusations for someone with zero links. Why is that?

    3. Anonymous10:15 AM

      Too late.

  13. Anonymous3:45 PM

I have no doubt that Trump will keep Hillary voters motivated until election day.

  14. This isn't over by a long shot. What happens to the almost half of Americans who support Trump? This is a culture war within our country. These 10's of millions of bigoted voters will have to be fought every election for decades.

    1. Anonymous4:11 PM

Not even half of Republicans support Trump, much less "almost half of Americans". You might have noticed that immediately following the "debate", Trump drew 8,000 (verified with pictures of the empty seats) at his rally, and Hillary Clinton drew 18,000 (according to the SS, whose job it is to know these things).

And you might have noticed that Trump played only to his rusted-on base of haters at the "debate". Only the Far Right extremists are supporting Trump- and that's not "almost half of Americans".

There isn't going to be a civil war, and if you think the Republicans didn't start a culture war in the 1980's then you really need to bone up on history.

    2. Anonymous5:16 PM

Not sure where you are getting your numbers...there is NO way for him to win.

    3. You partisans need reading lessons. I never said Trump would win, or there would be a civil war.

Clinton has four new ads using Republicans to convince Republicans.

She's now at 334 electorals, Trump at 203.

Still 49% to 43%. That may not change.

But Nate Silver now gives her an 83.5% chance of winning. I don't see that changing much. She'll hover around the 80% mark until the elections.

The GOP is going to have a hard time fixing those Diebold machines to flip the election. Not sure those that can would want to, considering how many Republicans are washing their hands of Trump.

  23. Anonymous4:47 PM

Hillary's biggest supporter is Donald Trump. The republicans always eat themselves, and Dems snatch defeat from the mouth of victory, but I sincerely thing Hillary's going to win.

Benghazi Middleman Tied To Unaoil Bribery Scandal, Source Told FBI

This is the Benghazi investigation you should actually read.

A middleman the State Department relied on to hire unarmed guards at the U.S. facility in Benghazi, Libya, previously worked with a company that’s now at the center of a massive international bribery scandal.

The FBI and law enforcement agencies in at least four other countries are investigating allegations ― first published by The Huffington Post and Fairfax Media ― that a Monaco-based company called Unaoil bribed public officials to secure contracts for major corporations in corruption-prone regions. In Libya, Unaoil partnered with a Tripoli-based businessman named Muhannad Alamir. A former Unaoil employee who served as a confidential source for the FBI told investigators that Unaoil and Alamir bribed Libyan officials. Unaoil and Alamir deny they bribed anyone.

Alamir started working with the State Department in early 2012, less than three years after cutting ties with Unaoil. He provided Blue Mountain Group, the small British security firm that won the Benghazi guard contract, with the license it needed to legally operate in Libya.

Eric Trump: My Father Bragged About Groping Women Because of His ‘Alpha Personality’

Since Donald Trump’s comments about groping women were made public last week, the fallout has been pretty significant. His Republican allies (well, some of them) have defected. The number of women who say they’ll vote for him is shrinking. But at a campaign appearance on Monday, Eric Trump defended his father’s tarnished reputation by dismissing the importance of the remarks altogether and using a little dash of men’s-rights-approved logic to excuse them.

“I think it’s locker room banter,” he said, according to the Colorado Gazette. “I think sometimes when guys are together they get carried away, and sometimes that’s what happens when alpha personalities are in the same presence. At the same time, I’m not saying it’s right. It’s not the person that he is.”

According to this logic, Donald Trump isn’t a raging misogynist; he just gets “carried away” thanks to his “alpha personality.” Fun fact: “Alpha male” is exactly the vocabulary male pickup artists use to describe themselves. What a weird coincidence.

  26. Anonymous5:51 PM

"The media is fixated on what they think they can get the most mileage out of. They are certainly not listening to women unless their body parts are described with vulgarity. They are certainly not concerned with sexism and victim shaming unless it involves a beauty queen or an E-Entertainment star or a soap opera rep escorting “locker room” boys from a big bus."
"These women were there to shame another woman."
"Pence, that Christian-first man that preaches that a marriage between a man and a woman means for better or worse, was proud of his running mate for shaming a woman who stood by her vows, stood by her marriage, stood by her husband for more than 25 years of Republican’s visceral and dripping hatred of all things Clinton. He was proud of Donald Trump for degrading and embarrassing and victimizing the spouse."He did that to someone’s mother. To someone’s grandmother. To someone’s daughter. He did that to a former President and a future President in front of God and a nation. "
