Hillary Clinton: "I'm the last thing standing between you and the Apocalypse."

This is from a very expansive article in the New York Times, but I think it sums up Hillary Clinton's campaign in a frighteningly succinct way:

“Don’t blow this” is what Clinton hears most often these days, she told me, or variations thereof. As it has turned out, Clinton, who began her campaign intent on breaking the last barrier — the glass ceiling — has found her most compelling rationale in her own role as a barrier, a bulwark against the impossible alternative. As I was leaving our interview, she smiled, looked me in the eyes and left me with a casual reminder. “As I’ve told people,” she said, “I’m the last thing standing between you and the apocalypse.”

The truly terrifying thing about this last quote is its accuracy.

Yes for all intents and purposes Hillary Clinton is our only savior from a possible reality that is too pee in your pants scary for most of us to even contemplate.

Is she up to the job?

Please, this is Hillary Clinton we are talking about.

I don't per se believe in the religious construct of the "apocalypse" but I do firmly believe that there will be a lot of unnecessary ugliness should Trump be elected.

Between the time he is sworn in and when they manage to impeach him he really could do some harm to this country.

The Obama administration with Hillary as SOS allowed ISIS to flourish thru the Middle East and worldwide. This administration has restarted the cold war with our former enemies, supported the ouster and killing of Gaddafi, and is apparently hell bent on removing Assad from power at all costs, and why?

Will Hillary also get a Nobel Peace Prize?

The United States' Secretary of State at the time, Hillary Clinton, laughed and expressed delight with Gaddafi's death, stating "We came. We saw. He died."

Speaking of pee your pants, that's what you folks running around claiming Podesta's emails are fake or doctored are going to do when Chris Wallace asks her next week at the debate whether she revealed classified information about the bin Laden hunt and raid in one of her private speeches. When she answers and doesn't say the leaked email was doctored, like she did last Sunday, she's going to confirm again that the emails are real. They're real, stop with the cloak and dagger red scare, commie behind every bush hysteria.

Not even half of Republicans support Trump, much less "almost half of Americans". You might have noticed that immediately following the "debate", Trump drew 8,000 (verified with pictures of the empty seats) at his rally, and Hillary Clinton drew 18,000 (according to the SS, whose job it is to know these things).

And you might have noticed that Trump played only to his rusted-on base of haters at the "debate". Only the Far Right extremists are supporting Trump- and that's not "almost half of Americans".

There isn't going to be a civil war, and if you think the Republicans didn't start a culture war in the 1980's then you really need to bone up on history.

Clinton has four new ads using Republicans to convince Republicans.

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/clinton-releases-4-tv-ads-featuring-gop-voters-shredding-trump-182137846.html

She's now at 334 electorals, Trump at 203.

Still 49% to 43%. That may not change.

But Nate Silver now gives her an 83.5% chance of winning. I don't see that changing much. She'll hover around the 80% mark until the elections.

The GOP is going to have a hard time fixing those Diebold machines to flip the election. Not sure those that can would want to, considering how many Republicans are washing their hands of Trump.

Benghazi Middleman Tied To Unaoil Bribery Scandal, Source Told FBI

This is the Benghazi investigation you should actually read.

A middleman the State Department relied on to hire unarmed guards at the U.S. facility in Benghazi, Libya, previously worked with a company that’s now at the center of a massive international bribery scandal.

The FBI and law enforcement agencies in at least four other countries are investigating allegations ― first published by The Huffington Post and Fairfax Media ― that a Monaco-based company called Unaoil bribed public officials to secure contracts for major corporations in corruption-prone regions. In Libya, Unaoil partnered with a Tripoli-based businessman named Muhannad Alamir. A former Unaoil employee who served as a confidential source for the FBI told investigators that Unaoil and Alamir bribed Libyan officials. Unaoil and Alamir deny they bribed anyone.

Alamir started working with the State Department in early 2012, less than three years after cutting ties with Unaoil. He provided Blue Mountain Group, the small British security firm that won the Benghazi guard contract, with the license it needed to legally operate in Libya.

Eric Trump: My Father Bragged About Groping Women Because of His ‘Alpha Personality’

Since Donald Trump’s comments about groping women were made public last week, the fallout has been pretty significant. His Republican allies (well, some of them) have defected. The number of women who say they’ll vote for him is shrinking. But at a campaign appearance on Monday, Eric Trump defended his father’s tarnished reputation by dismissing the importance of the remarks altogether and using a little dash of men’s-rights-approved logic to excuse them.

“I think it’s locker room banter,” he said, according to the Colorado Gazette. “I think sometimes when guys are together they get carried away, and sometimes that’s what happens when alpha personalities are in the same presence. At the same time, I’m not saying it’s right. It’s not the person that he is.”

According to this logic, Donald Trump isn’t a raging misogynist; he just gets “carried away” thanks to his “alpha personality.” Fun fact: “Alpha male” is exactly the vocabulary male pickup artists use to describe themselves. What a weird coincidence.

"The media is fixated on what they think they can get the most mileage out of. They are certainly not listening to women unless their body parts are described with vulgarity. They are certainly not concerned with sexism and victim shaming unless it involves a beauty queen or an E-Entertainment star or a soap opera rep escorting “locker room” boys from a big bus."
"These women were there to shame another woman."
"Pence, that Christian-first man that preaches that a marriage between a man and a woman means for better or worse, was proud of his running mate for shaming a woman who stood by her vows, stood by her marriage, stood by her husband for more than 25 years of Republican’s visceral and dripping hatred of all things Clinton. He was proud of Donald Trump for degrading and embarrassing and victimizing the spouse."He did that to someone’s mother. To someone’s grandmother. To someone’s daughter. He did that to a former President and a future President in front of God and a nation. "
