In Georgia 2nd Amendment protected 18 month old from ever making it to his 2nd birthday.

Police are investigating the death of an old 18-month-old Georgia boy who died from a gunshot wound to the head in his home, police said.

Police told WSBTV that around 3 p.m. two brothers, 18 months and 3 years old, were inside of a bedroom with family members when an adult set down a loaded .45 caliber handgun.

One of the brothers reportedly picked up the handgun and pulled the trigger, killing the 18-month-old, but they are not sure which one.

"There were adults in the room at the time, but the adults were not paying attention to what was going on. They did not actually see the incident occur," Henry County police Lt. Mike Ireland said in an interview.

Yeah I know, someone somewhere used a gun to scare off some burglar/home intruder/ex-husband. And that makes the death of this child okay somehow.

But it really doesn't.

Especially since it is only one of almost 500 children killed or injured by gun violence so far this year.

An adult. Literally. Set. A. Handgun. Down. In. A. Room. With. Two. Preschoolers. And, "...the adults were not paying attention to what was going on."

What is is going to take? Do the police need to be *in* the room, witnessing these events, to see what is *happening*? Is someone, *finally* going to be charged? THIS WAS NOT A RANDOM 'ACCIDENT'!

What's really not OK is that no one will be charged with even negligence, because 'they are all being punished already.' Bull, you throw a woman who miscarries into jail...how about the morons who put guns where their kids will get them?
Past time for accountability. If 'guns don't kill people' then the gun owner is responsible for the death. How about we start charging these idiots insurance. Seems to me that owning a gun is even more of a responsibility than owning a car.

OT? OH PLEASE..teaching children gender theory in schools was an “insidious indoctrination”
“I accompanied people with these tendencies, with homosexual practices, I brought them closer to the Lord,” he said."http://www.rawstory.com/2016/10/pope-francis-says-teaching-gender-theory-is-insidious-indoctrination/

All four "adults" should be charged in this case. That no one was paying any attention is simply unbelievable to me. And, how likely is it that an eighteen month-old toddler could point the gun at his own head and shoot it? The question is moot, of course, because neither child was responsible for what happened but ALL of the adults were.

Yes, pretty clear they're trying to protect the three-year-old from having to live his life in the knowledge he killed his own brother. Too bad their care for the kids didn't extend to practicing the most basic gun safety.

Sounds more like an "18 month post term abortion" to me.

Georgia is one of those states that provides roadblocks and restrictions to obtaining legal abortions. I wonder if there is a correlation between states with the most restrictive abortion laws and the number of "accidental" child on child shootings.

  6. What are the stats on scaring away home intruders? Would be an interesting comparison.

There was a song by Pat Benetar called "Hell is for Children". Unfortunately it is cases like this that emphasize the sheer stupidity. "Gun Culture" is an oxymoron. The adults should go to jail, along with who sold them the guns and ammo, Or Tax guns and ammo to oblivion, and use that money to build and furnish state of the art public schools.
Sorry, no "accident". Guns are made for one purpose and one purpose only, to maim and kill.
