Last night's SNL cold open.

So good last night, I laughed way to hard at Hillary Clinton "preparing" for today's debate.

But as good as Kate McKinnon was in that piece, she was brilliant in the Kellyanne Conway segment.

Apparently Conway has dropped off the face of the planet in the wake of that sexual harassment video featuring Donald Trump and Billy Bush.

She cancelled all of her Sunday morning show appearances and has remained off the radar since Friday. With  the exception of this one tweet this morning.
So it appears that she is still on the team, but no interested in facing the press.

Gee, I wonder why?

Now if you will excuse me I need to find that industrial size bowl for my popcorn before tonight's debate.

Burnett is warning people that were on the Apprentice shows to keep their yaps shut!

I say boycott all the TV shows he has going currently and drive them down into oblivion! I'm putting a stop to watching them. The guy is suppose to be deeply religious (yea, another one of THOSE!) and is loaded as to financially.

He is protecting/covering Trump and should not be allowed to do so! I hope those that participated on his show throughout the time it ran, spell the beans when it comes to the asshole Trump! They need to tell ALL that transpired on the show - as to Trump words!

Screw the producer of the show. I'm not even sure I got his name correct above. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Burnett is a YUUUUGE Trump supporter and has instructed all staff under pain of $5 million fine not to leak any footage.

But you know it's going to get leaked. There are still some honorable people for whom doing nothing is unacceptable when faced with this moral dilemma.

You know that footage is out there and it will be leaked.

And Trump is toast. SNL is just the start. Maher started it on Friday, Oliver will continue it on Sunday and Colbert and the rest will carry through next week with the added debacle of the debate.

Trump is a punchline and a laughingstock. He'll never recover. (Kellyanne is reducing her visual association with Trump to save her professional career. Probably migrating to Pence as I type.)

"Burnett “is pro-Trump and has made clear to his teams that he will sue anyone who leaks,” the person said."

"But pressure has been building on The Apprentice producers to release unaired raw footage of the show after Friday’s release of a 2005 hot mic video of Donald Trump apparently bragging about sexually assaulting women and trying to have sex with a married woman.

More than 20 former contestants, crew members, and editors told the Associated Press that Trump treated women on the show inappropriately, including talking about which contestants he would like to have sex with and rating them by breast size.

“If there was a break in the conversation, he would then look at one of the female cast members, saying ‘you’re looking kind of hot today, I love that dress on you,’ then he would turn to one of the male cast members and say ‘wouldn’t you sleep with her?’ and then everyone would laugh,” a former crew member, who spoke anonymously due to a non-disclosure agreement, told AP.

“There would be about 10 or 12 cameras rolling and getting that footage, which is why everybody was like, this guy just doesn’t care.” "

There most certainly is footage out there. It will only be a matter of time before it is released by someone. If Trump couldn't stop the release of those 1995 tax returns, you know Apprentice footage is going to follow pretty soon.

Funny how they only mention these women.

      Never the ones that consented.

Could it be they all consented and these are the only ones willing to smear Bill?

With philanderers like Bill Clinton they don't bother to rape. They just move on to another willing woman. That is because the mindset of a philanderer is different than that of a predator. Bill sees them as women. Donald sees them as objects. He wants them. He has never been denied anything he wants. So if they don't agree he just takes what he wants.

Shall we compare Bill the Father of Chelsea and Donald the predator of Ivanka? You won't find any lewd, uncomfortable or questionable photos of Bill with a young Chelsea. You also won't find Bill inviting grown men to objectify his daughter with crass demeaning remarks like "piece of ass."

I don't care if Roger Ailes helps him come up with these 'political' stunts, they are just not decent at any level. He is a pitiful example but he is the representative of the Republican party.

If Priebus Reince can't get Pence to step down, he is screwed. Donald is out to destroy Reince and anything Republican. Pence must hate women and the party like Trump. He would run fast if he he had any self respect or any respect for his party.

Trump must feel on top of his game. He never wanted a 'debate' about policy or anything significant. This is a dream come true for him. Now he can do what Roger and Rudie are encouraging. Dig up, make up all the past of a previous president. Make sure to loud and rudely assert the views on it is the wife's fault or she did this or that. He is beside himself feeling like he already won because he and his minions are into this 'Bill Clinton' way to take down Hillary.

He has probably agreed to do the humble act and another version of an apology performance, just so he can do this 'Bill Clinton' thing he can't get over.

      I don't think so.

I think he is so angry and out of control he will barely be able to contain himself. Last time he lasted what? 25 minutes?

I think almost out of the gate he'll be on the attack and will bring up Bill almost immediately, no matter the question.

It will all backfire. Trump has been told repeatedly not to go there as it will damage him with all voters, not just women. But he won't listen. He never does when it contradicts his "gut feelings." They've got him this far. And he feels when he listens to those that are more political (and know better) that he loses. This last apology that became an attack is an example. I'm sure he's thinking "I apologized like they told me and look what happened?"

It will be a shitfest Sunday night. Neither of the moderators will be able to control him. Hillary won't get a word in and will be constantly interrupted if she tries. I doubt any of the questions from the audience will be addressed by Trump. Hillary will try. But we'll get 90 minutes of Trump ranting about Bill's adultery and rape, Hillary's lying and bullying, Benghazi and e-mails.

For Trump, this time it's different. This is his 47% moment.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/for-donald-trump-this-time-really-will-be-different_us_57f8893be4b0d786aa52b2a0?section=&

"Finally, the Republican establishment is sick of this shit. They went along with it for months, shamefully, because they wanted to win. If they think he’s a sure loser, they sure as hell don’t want to be tied to his sinking ship – and their abandoning him could accelerate the sinking."

Then there is the redirection of RNC money. Trump is going to have to fund the rest of his campaign on his own. And we all suspect he can't afford it.

    http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/300048-report-rnc-redirecting-funds-away-from-trump

"Citing an unidentified official, the Journal said that RNC Chairman Reince Priebus made the call to focus on House and Senate races on Saturday after the GOP was thrust into chaos over newly revealed sexually explicit remarks that Trump made in 2005.

The GOP nominee has not made the large-scale ground-game investments that are typical of a major-party nominee. So the RNC has picked up the lion's share of that slack. Before this move, the RNC's field staff prioritized Trump, meaning that they would focus first on turning out voters for Trump, even if that meant those voters may not support GOP candidates down the ballot.

The shift in priorities reported by the Journal would mean that the RNC would instead target voters who would vote for Republicans down the ballot, even if they planned to vote for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton."

    http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-10-08/republican-national-committee-begins-redirect-funds-trump

"However, in a surprising move showing the dwindling support for Trump within the GOP, this evening the WSJ reported that the Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus on Saturday told party officials to redirect funds away from nominee Donald Trump to down-ballot candidates. In practical terms, the party will be working to mobilize voters who support GOP House and Senate candidates regardless of their position on the presidential race.

As the WSJ explains, that means the RNC will push Floridians who support both Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and Republican Sen. Marco Rubio to vote. Before today, the RNC wouldn’t have sought to turn out Clinton voters, leaving split-ticket voters for Senate campaigns to target.

Earlier on Saturday, Politico reported that the RNC directed a mailing vendor to hold off on all projects related to the RNC-Trump joint "Victory" fund."

Reince Priebus may be out of the job soon too.

    http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/presidential-races/300007-pennsylvania-lawmaker-says-priebus-should-step-down-if

"The head of the Republican National Committee should resign if Donald Trump remains on the GOP presidential ticket, one GOP lawmaker said Saturday.

A New York Times reporter tweeted that Rep. Charlie Dent (R-Pa.) is demanding RNC Chairman Reince Priebus remove Trump from the ticket.

"If he can't, then he should step down," Dent said, according to the tweet.

Pressure is building on high-ranking party members as a growing number of Republicans call on Trump to drop out of the race. The Washington Post published damning audio on Friday of Trump bragging about groping women in 2005."

"Donald Trump trained his wrath on the leaders of his own party Sunday, slamming them as “hypocrites” for abandoning him, and predicting they will lose in November."

"What is perhaps the scariest part for Republicans is that Trump may be right, although only partially for the reasons he believes.

On the one hand, Trump’s callous and baldly revealed attitude toward women will be toxic for many moderate and independent voters who had a hard time pulling for Hillary Clinton. They almost assure that he will lose.

On the other hand, many, many Trump voters do not care what he said about women, and only see abandoning Trump as a betrayal of the grass-roots. They are likely to shun the candidates who were belatedly horrified by Trump, and could take them down along with their orange-tinted hero."

How Trump would deal with losing the election:

    http://www.thefiscaltimes.com/2016/08/02/Here-s-How-Trump-Would-Deal-Losing-Election

"But in the end, logic wouldn’t matter. Trump’s goal wouldn’t be to convince a majority of people that he was right. It would be to convince a loud minority so thoroughly that they would spread, and continue to spread, the idea that the system the U.S. uses to elect its president is itself illegitimate.

That is something that even losers of presidential elections who had legitimate complaints about specific instances of unfair treatment -- think Richard Nixon in 1960 or Al Gore in 2000 -- have declined to do. Both men, who could have made very credible arguments that their opponents’ were not elected legitimately, declined to do so in the interests of the country.

But as Trump has repeatedly shown, the best interests of the country don’t appear to be what is driving his candidacy."

How Trump could delegitimize a Clinton win.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jeff-jarvis/how-trump-could-delegitim_b_12419530.html?

“Hillary Clinton isn’t really the President. She got elected only because she ran against Donald Trump, the worst candidate in history. She didn’t destroy him; he destroyed himself. Nobody wanted to vote for her. They had to vote for her.”

“Yes, Donald Trump is a misogynist and has admitted committing sexual assault and he is a bigot who has attacked Mexicans as rapists and murderers and Muslims as terrorists and he has defamed African-American communities as hells ruled by crime and drug-dealing. But in our next segment, we will tell you for the thousandth time about Hillary Clinton’s emails.

“Yes, Donald Trump’s foundation is a sham that he uses to settle his personal debts and enrich his ego, and he defaults on his promises to charities and causes. But when we come back, we will cast aspersions on Hillary and Bill Clinton’s foundation, even though we have no journalistic evidence of wrongdoing, even though the Clinton foundation does immense good work saving lives and helping people, and even though we in media won’t tell you about all that good work.

    “Because balance.”

"And now leaders of the GOP are giving their own reprehensible civics lesson: At last, at long last, some of them are repudiating Donald Trump — not because he has been a racist to Latinos, Muslims, and African-Americans, not because he is a misogynist, not because he lies, not because he is ignorant, not because he is dangerous, but because he finally crossed the White Woman Line. Yet those same politicians now legitimize the idea of not voting for president. That also delegitimizes the victor, Hillary Clinton. You’ll hear this, too:

“Well, we didn’t vote for her. We didn’t have anyone to vote for. So we’re not going to work with her. We’re going to continue what we’ve done for a generation: only working against her, only blocking anything she proposes to do. For we will never let her win, not the White House, not a single battle, not so much as a bill.” "

"Consider this: In losing, Trump (and) the disgusting movement behind him will win. Their goal is to bring down institutions and they have already succeeded. They have destroyed the Republican Party. They will continue to delegitimize the Democratic Party and its victory. They will thus delegitimize government. They have lowered the quality of political discourse in this country to their level. Yes, they have won."
