Mike Pence denies that theirs is an "insult driven campaign" at almost literally the same time that Donald Trump is tweeting insults about Tim Kaine.

This defense by Mike Pence was of course laughable on its face, but it was made even more so by these tweets coming from Trump who was live tweeting the debate.

"Okay Donald I am going to go out there and try to do some damage control and start trying to represent our campaign as one about the issues and not one that engages in childish insults and unprovoked attacks okay?

"Sure Mike that sounds good. I'll be backing you up on Twitter."

"Thanks, wait what?"

Kind of makes you wonder exactly what Mike Pence thought would happen when he joined this ticket?

  10. I don't think Pence cares much about Trump. I think he's positioning himself to replace Ted Cruz in 2020 as the go-to ultraconservative super deluxe brand Xtian. That's why I wish Kaine would have gone after his record in Indiana more than he did.

    1. Yes, absolutely.

Why are the apparently revered Founding fathers’ lines — including “separation of church and state” -- not used all the time by Democrats, using the very words of the FFs? Would it not be like quoting from the alt-right’s own precious, inerrant Bible?

That vid of those two Trumpette women in red who said, “Trump is God come down to save us,” are conflating religion with politics which makes Trump inerrant. It will end in bullets: righteous defense in the Name of God.

And, while we're at it -- what about “All men are created equal” ?...that seems to have been ignored as well by these pious misogynist racists.

The Veep Debate Told Us One Important Thing About A Trump Presidency

Mike Pence would have power in a Trump White House — and he’d use it.

...Except for a handful of high-profile causes, like immigration and trade, Trump is likely to delegate a lot of the governing to his vice president ― and in many cases, simply defer to his vice president’s judgment.

That could unleash a torrent of conservative legislation.

An election that puts Trump and Pence in the West Wing almost certainly leaves Republicans in charge of Congress. House Speaker Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell could work quickly to pass legislation of mutual interest and, in Pence, they’d find a powerful vice president almost entirely in synch with their interests.

Remember, before becoming governor, Pence was a leader in the Republican House, where, as chairman of the Republican Study Committee, he was directly involved in crafting policy proposals for the conservative wing of the caucus. He’s got a long record of advocating ultra-conservative policy, on both economic issues (he once championed Social Security privatization) and social issues (he’s a strong opponent of abortion rights).

    666pence wants 2020!
former Republican Congressman Ed Weber. “Donald Trump has no comparable experience and doesn’t understand how government works. His ideas about foreign policy and other issues are simplistic, and obviously without any critical thinking. Above all, he has clear character issues, and is unfit to hold office. I urge Republicans and Independents everywhere to oppose Trump and vote for Hillary Clinton this November.”"The bottom line is civilized people don’t want to be seen with Donald Trump and people who really care about this country and the world are terrified of a Trump presidency. They are speaking out because they know he is dangerous and even though they might disagree with Clinton on policy, they find her temperamentally fit for the office.

And that’s a qualification that can’t be faked and shouldn’t be ignored." BUT THIS>
"It is a choice that will not only worsen Trump’s already miserable chances of getting into the Oval Office, but will rebound on Pence himself should he attempt a 2020 run."

I agree that if Trump wins Pence will be the acting president. That is scary all on its own. Pence is an Evangelical. He will acknowledge his basic religious beliefs but after reading about some of his background, I am afraid he is one that would like to run the government according to the ten commandments. Scary!!! Where is the separation of church and state? You know Trump doesn't care as long as his face is front and center in any camera.

Chris Matthews hit a raw nerve with me when he claimed that Pence was the winner. Pence's statesmanship impressed Chris. What is important to the nation is what comes out of the man, not what is on the outside, nor how well they can act so piously.

Pence was a joke, as he sat there and tried to defend Trump, and tried to convert the crowd to trust Trump, knowing what Trump is and what spills out of his heart and mouth.

There is no way that man understandspa 'being born again in Christ'. He could never support Trump in any way, shape or form, and for him to pander to the christian base so they'll follow him and the madman Trump is madness in itself. I think they're going down in flames, so to speak, on election day.

How Senator Tim Kaine ultimately won the Vice Presidential Debate in 34 seconds

After watching Tuesday night’s Vice Presidential Debate, Republicans will say Governor Mike Pence won and Democrats will say Senator Tim Kaine won. But Kaine did win. By addressing women’s reproductive rights, he made the views of Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party crystal clear, and he stated those views with strength, conviction and compassion.

Trump claiming the win in the VP debate. Makes it all about him.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/donald-trump-mike-pence-debate_us_57f55466e4b002a731206ce4?section=&

"Donald Trump graciously accepted credit for the Tuesday night debate performance of his running mate, Mike Pence.

“Mike Pence did an incredible job and I’m getting a lot of credit because that’s really my first so-called choice,” the GOP presidential nominee said Wednesday at a rally in Henderson, Nevada.

“That was my first hire, as we would say in Las Vegas, and I’ll tell you he was a good one,” Trump said."

“I’d argue that Mike had the single most decisive victory in the history of vice presidential debates,” Trump said. “And last night America also got to look firsthand at my judgment.”

That's right. While Pence was claiming they didn't have a hate campaign, Trump was busily tweeting insults about Tim Kaine. Pence is winning the debate by basically making Trump disappear and denying everything he says, Trump is busy claiming victory for choosing Mike Pence.

You just can't make this stuff up.

Meanwhile, Hillary's numbers are going up, so let Mike Pence claim he won the debate....but lost the election.
