President Obama's poll numbers now the highest of his second term.

Courtesy of CNN:

President Barack Obama's approval rating stands at 55% in a new CNN/ORC poll, the highest mark of his second term, and matching his best at any time since his first year in office.

The new rating outpaces his previous second-term high -- reached just after a Democratic convention that extolled the successes of his presidency -- by one point, and hits a level he's reached just twice since the end of his first year in office: In January 2013 just before his second inauguration and in January 2011.

The new poll continues a streak in which Obama's approval rating has been at 50% or higher in CNN/ORC polls since February, a seven month run that is his longest since 2009. And taken together, Obama's approval ratings in 2016 average 51% so far in CNN/ORC polls, his best mark since that first year in office.
I have said before that the more people see of Donald Trump the more they appreciate President Obama.

And of course only helps Hillary Clinton's chances of winning this election.

Which right now look pretty damn good.

Hurricane Michael, and the response, is going to affect the East Coast voting. Without a doubt.

Hurricane Matthew is being steered by a strong front and will most likely be turned out into the Atlantic before scraping even the Carolinas.

The East coast of Florida, however, is a different story.

I meant the West coast of Florida will probably get hammered. Haha i'm sure that raised some eyebrows :) The East coast of central Florida will get rain and high winds, just no surge.

I understand Matthew is heading directly towards Mar a Lago.

Is Matthew God's way of telling us not to vote for Trump?

So proud of our wonderful President Obama and his family. They have represented America in such good grace!

Trump doesn't begin to measure up to President Obama!

Hillary Clinton does and I really don't think as many American dislike her as the media/press and Republicans have been saying throughout this past year.

May they eat the shit they have spewed against Mrs. Clinton on November 8th when she is elected our next POTUS!

    Vote Hillary Clinton! I am!

In my "evil" heart of hearts, I would love to see us all invade c4p saying "She won! She won!" so the moderators couldn't keep up with deleting and blocking, but I'm not like that.

That bunch really is one for the books, with "Palin" as their battle cry. Good Lord, what idiots.

You'll have to tell us how to 'invade' them, 6:12 PM after Hillary Clinton wins on November 8th. Sounds like a fun plan just to bug folks that love that idiot and fraud, Sarah Palin!

  6. I rather suspect that Hillary after Obama will come to resemble Johnson after John Kennedy. There's nothing enviable about standing in the shadow of a legend, but Johnson did some very good things despite Vietnam, was a deal wrestler of the first order, the last true Roosevelt disciple, and Hillary comes no less field tested and returns with Bill to boot.

    I think we'll be okay.

I have been screaming this formonths>
"Trump reminisced to Gross about this time of his life years later“You had drugs, women and booze all over the fuckin’ place”, boasted Trump during an interview with Gross. “If I hadn’t got married, who knows what would have happened?” in case anyone missed his point, he would later clarify-“I don’t think anybody had more sex than I did. Sex was all over the fucking place”. He would also describe the typical night at Studio 54-“I would watch supermodels getting screwed, well-known supermodels getting screwed, on a bench in the middle of the room. There were seven of them and each one was getting screwed by a different guy.”"Trump had a personality that most people in the elite circles he wanted to belong to found off putting. But perhaps the greatest difference between the two men was John Casablancas was famous, and Trump was not.
Ivana and Trump would marry in 1978 and their first child, Donald Jr., would be born 8 months later."
John Casablancas was untouchable-during his glory days he would be accused of rape, murder, and everything in between-and it never seemed to affect him personally or professionally."
Trump appears to have hardened and grown cynical. Despite all of his efforts, by most accounts he was never really accepted by the Manhattan social crowd. No matter how many buildings he put his name on, or how many millions he was worth, he was still always seen as a bit of a joke. Over time his resentment grew, and simmered into anger-and his actions became increasingly fueled by his need to settle scores."
After a painful scalp reduction surgery to remove a bald spot, Donald Trump confronted his then-wife, who had previously used the same plastic surgeon.
“Your fucking doctor has ruined me!” Trump cried.
What followed was a “violent assault,” according to Lost Tycoon. Donald held back Ivana’s arms and began to pull out fistfuls of hair from her scalp, as if to mirror the pain he felt from his own operation. He tore off her clothes and unzipped his pants.
“Then he jams his penis inside her for the first time in more than sixteen months. Ivana is terrified… It is a violent assault,” Hurt writes. “According to versions she repeats to some of her closest confidantes, ‘he raped me.’”
Following the incident, Ivana ran upstairs, hid behind a locked door, and remained there “crying for the rest of night.” When she returned to the master bedroom in the morning, he was there.
“As she looks in horror at the ripped-out hair scattered all over the bed, he glares at her and asks with menacing casualness: ‘Does it hurt?’”
Regarding Tiffany" Over a decade later, in one of his few public acknowledgements of her existence, he would smirk as he admitted to Howard Stern that he had urged Marla to abort her."
The fact that models-even supermodels-never gained the riches that were born of their starved bodies and faces didn’t matter. The fact that the largest spoils went to the very men who were caught on hidden camera laughing about raping underage girls didn’t matter. The industry was, like so many others, an unregulated wild west. This is a story that must be told in layers and parts. It involves oligarchs and diplomats, tax evasion, and trafficking of drugs, weapons, and human beings."
THAT IS TELLING^^ WHEN IS PART 2?

We've been more than fine with President Obama as our leader and President Hillary Clinton will do well - in spite of the hate and crud the media/press and Republicans have spread about her incessantly this past year.

I can hardly wait until the election process has been completed and we see the results of Mrs. Clinton kicking Trump's fat butt into the cellar! I want to see him embarrassed as Hell at being the 'loser' - with the whole world watching!

    Vote for Hillary Clinton!

Odds and predictions are only that: a calculated probability. They're not a certainty. The odds of Strike the Gold winning the 1991 Kentucky Derby were 4 to 1. He won by 1-3/4 lengths and the favorite finished 10th.

On the day of the Michigan primary, 538 predicted Clinton had a 99% chance of winning. Sanders won. Nate's predictions are only as good as the polls on which they're based.

Actually, 538 uses both a "polls only" and a "polls plus" forecast. And they weight the various polls based on their reliability. I will start feeling good when both are over 80% for Hillary. Michigan was 538's only big blunder in the primaries and they predicted 100% of the states correctly in the 2012 presidential election. I live in Michigan and have some understanding of why the polling was so far off. That said -- anything can happen and Dems cannot afford to get complacent. PLEASE keep working, raising funds and doing whatever you can to keep Trump/Pence out of the white house.

Actually the 99% prediction for Clinton winning Michigan was the polls-plus forecast. All polls-plus does is throw in an economic index. Michigan wasn't the only primary Nate got wrong. On the day of the Indiana primary, 538 had 90% chance of Clinton winning, and of course, Sanders won that one, too. He was actually 89% on Dem primaries. That's a B. He's got Ohio as 59% Clinton in polls-only despite the fact that the average of the most recent 3 Ohio polls is + 2 for Trump. So he's really not even just using polls for what he's calling polls-only. He's got a trend component in there.

Not only can anything happen, nobody can really predict an election based on statistics any more than they can predict a horse race. These predictions aren't good for more than some interesting cocktail conversation.

I think his approval rating is going up because people are realizing how good they've got it with O compared to the candidates available to us this year. All 4 of them are sub-par compared to O. Clinton might be the best of the 4, but that's not saying much. Even she fall far short of matching the intellect, humanitarian and human being that is Barack Hussein Obama.
