Sarah Palin finds yet another opportunity to play the victim while falsely claiming she was right about "death panels."

So that tweet shows up on Twitter and of course is brought to the attention of the Wasilla Wendigo, who quickly takes to Facebook to post a kind of victory lap/pity party:

After I spoke of Obamacare's Death Panels, the President deceived the nation in his State of the Union address, claiming I was the liar. (Actually just about everybody concluded you were a liar.)

Barack (That's "Mr. President" to you lady): tell that to patients now being refused health care.

The backlash from the President's continued attacks on my integrity remains immense (The President rarely spoke about you Sarah, the backlash came in response to your own stupidity.), but it's nothing compared to the tragic hopelessness that formerly disillusioned Americans now feel. Ironically, Obama and Congress could have proved me wrong. (Oh they did.) Granted, the President and media's obstinate clinging to the failed Obamacare boondoggle was a given, but an incalculable disappointment in this is knowing Congress held the purse strings for this disastrous government healthcare takeover, yet funded it anyway.

Media: why no accountability on this? Why ignore Hillary's role in supporting Obamacare?

 - Sarah Palin

What Palin is referencing here is the story of a  terminally ill California woman whose insurance company refuses to pay for a different chemotherapy drug that "might" buy her some more time.

Instead, due to California's new End of Life Option Act, this woman learned that a drug that would let her die with dignity at a time of her choosing WAS covered by her health insurance.

The woman, a Roman Catholic, was of course horrified, and this has become the cause celebre among the Right to Lifers.

So what does this have to do with Sarah Palin's famous "death panels?" Not a damn thing.

What Palin was talking about back in 2009 was this:

"As more Americans delve into the disturbing details of the nationalized health care plan that the current administration is rushing through Congress, our collective jaw is dropping, and we're saying not just no, but hell no!" Palin wrote.

"The Democrats promise that a government health care system will reduce the cost of health care, but as the economist Thomas Sowell has pointed out, government health care will not reduce the cost; it will simply refuse to pay the cost. And who will suffer the most when they ration care? The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course. The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama's ‘death panel' so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their ‘level of productivity in society,' whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil."

Essentially what Palin was saying was that "death panels" would portion out health care to those deemed worthy, and that others would be left to die on their own.

THAT was the lie that she was called out for, and it has NOTHING to do with this California woman's case.

NOR does it have anything to do really with Obamacare.

Insurance companies have always made choices over which medicines and treatments they are willing to pay for, and that is typically based on it's positive impact and yes its cost.

And Obamacare has actually fixed some of that by forcing insurance companies to provide insurance for many who would not have qualified for it in the past, and by not allowing them to kick clients off of their insurance once they became ill.

In fact the argument could be made that without Obamacare this woman would likely have lost her insurance already.

The medicine that this woman's insurance company is balking at "might" extend her life, but then again it might not.

So the insurance company on their own, with no "Death panels" involved, has decided that it is not worth the extra cost to spend the money on a drug that might have no effect whatsoever.

Remember this woman's cancer is terminal, there is no cure, only the possibility of a few more years or months.

It may seem harsh, and if it were your loved one you would almost certainly feel that it was, but it has nothing to do with Obamacare, "death panels," and certainly nothing to do with Sarah "Look at me, look at me, look at me now" Palin.

  1. Anonymous2:05 PM

God, she is stupid. There is simply no hope for her. I pity her.

    1. Anonymous6:43 PM

      She's a narcissist.

This is how she takes something and twists it around to be about ME ME ME!

    2. Anonymous11:06 PM

Pity is wasted on someone like Palin. She cares note a whit about anyone except herself and is too stupid to know she is despicable.

    3. Anonymous3:59 AM

Being a narcissist and being stupid are not mutually exclusive.

  2. Anonymous2:13 PM

I don't blame Obama's plan, I blame the insurance companies almost inhuman efforts to make more money even at the expense of it's clients.

Sad that health insurance companies have too much say in our care, more than actual physicians.

"Remember this woman is terminal, there is no cure, only the possibility of a few more years or months."

    We're all terminal, Gryphen.

    1. Anonymous2:51 PM

Thank you. I think many people would be much happier now if they realized that we all get a death sentence the day we're born. Quality of life is much more important than length of life.

      $arah's still a damn idiot.

      Oh, and fuck Mitch McConnell.

    2. The insurance companies are the most POWERFUL congressional lobby. Are they really going to forfeit any profits? Do Banks?

We are all terminal. Quality of life counts.

Sarah and Trump are just sloppy politicians and the redeeming part is that they are terminal.

I hope it is long and protracted.

    3. Anonymous4:31 PM

I have a chronic-but-very-treatable medical condition. My health insurance (which is NOT Obamacare)refuses to pay for two of my prescriptions. The ones they will cover cost $10 and $15 less a month...and don't work. So my options are to pay out-of-pocket for medication I know works because I've been taking it 20 years, or get medication that does absolutely nothing for me.

    4. To 4:31 pm, in case you have not already, please try insurance discount cards. In my experience in 2 states I found them in public places such as the library and a low income clinic. There is one online with the words Good and rx. Ask at pharmacies. I have had to go in person. Maybe you have done this research. I am only mentioning this because it can be done and there truly are savings.

    5. Ps in case I was not clear, these discount cards are not insurance and can not be combined with insurance but you can use them for medications your insurance does not cover

    6. Anonymous7:02 PM

This doesn't even have anything to do with the greed of capitalistic insurance compaies, it has to do with paying for treatment not approved yet by the FDA. Paying for unapproved healthcare treatments , in the end, may endanger more people than it helps.

    7. Anonymous8:27 PM

The insurance companies are the most POWERFUL congressional lobby.
That is why they love Obamacare!! Everyone is required to have health insurance, that is why the republicans are lying when they talk about repealing it.

    8. Anonymous10:40 PM

Let them. The more they gouge us, the closer we'll get to single payer universal health care

If Hillary gets both houses of Congress, it will be a done deal.

    9. Anonymous1:31 AM

This is 4:31 pm; just pointing out that insurance companies have always had "death panels" where they deny care to people--not just "untested" or "exploratory" care, but actual, proven-to-work medications. One of the ones I've been taking has been around for 50 years and is very well-studied with minimal side-effects, but it's $15 more expensive a month than the alternate that simply does not work for most people.

    10. Anonymous3:32 AM

7:02 you don't know wha tthe fuck you are talking about. All cancer drugs initially go thru trials until they become standard therapy. The trials need to be approved by IRBs in hospitals. There is alot of SCIENCE behind the whole process.
Puhleese. No current proven therapy excaped an early trial phase, except those from the 5060s when they did not have the trial phase because we had a limited arsenal of drugs.
Insurance companies need to get on board and stop this shit. They know it - they just don't want to pay for it.

  3. Anonymous2:26 PM

As usual, the idiot, Sarah Palin, has no friggin' clue as to her remarks!

Thanks for the clarification, IM. What would we do without you?

She and The Donald are two of a kind!

  4. Anonymous2:33 PM

    1. Anonymous6:52 PM

We already knew Trump Victory was history as the GOP didn't want to share any money with Trump. They're cutting him off and distancing themselves from him.

He isn't going to help the "traitors" that aren't supporting him. Even if there were events scheduled, I doubt he'd show up. So to save face all around they weren't scheduled so they didn't have to be canceled.

I'm sure Trump will continue to raise money on his own and keep every penny.

  5. For fuck's sake, do these idiots think that this never happened before the ACA?

In fact, she's damn lucky that they cannot impose a cap on her coverage as they could before the ACA was passed or the stone stupid fool would not have any insurance at all by now.

    1. Anonymous4:17 PM

Yes she would. Native health are..nice and free and covers them all.

  6. So much hate and ugliness in such a small person.

    1. Anonymous6:58 PM

2:35 actually she is not that small anymore-noticing how she is puffing up and gaining weight. Small mind. Small IQ. Etc. absolutely!

  7. Anonymous2:36 PM

Sarah Palin is like a bad psychic. She'd tell you that you were with your soulmate and you'll live happily ever after, but just before the wedding you'd find out he/she was cheating on you, so you leave that person and find someone better to marry--and she'd say, "See? You're happy! I told you that you'd find true love!"

    1. Anonymous3:03 PM

Kind of like the ruse she pulled on Todd, shotgunning him into marriage while she carried another man's child.

She said "oh Todd he's going to look just like you, I can tell already" and then BOOM she gave birth to a kid that looked just like the Dentist's son.

      Funny that.

  8. Anonymous2:39 PM

So, if the insurance company will cover opioids for the patient, does that mean the headline should read "Terminally ill mom denied treatment but Obamacare offers to deal her smack"?

  9. Anonymous2:41 PM

Donald Trump recently showed his cluelessness about Obamacare and the ACA when he was talking about insurance coverage and his employees. He seems to think that "Obamacare" is an insurance plan that has been foisted upon all of us and he's really "agin" it.

  10. Anonymous2:41 PM

Note how she gave the woman the money she needed to save her life, anonymously, of course, because that's the way Sarah rolls. Another "steal the spotlight" from one more deserving, as she did in the Schiavo debacle. I'm surprised she hasn't made herself the victim while begging for life saving money. Oh and Sarah, nevermind, bitch. Christina Taylor Green met the death panels, when will you follow suit?

    1. Anonymous4:17 PM

What? Sarah never 'gives' anyone money.

  11. Anonymous2:43 PM

I hate her as much as Stupid fucking trump! She is crowing b/c she "thinks" he will win.
In Jan I lost a very dear friend. She had ovarian CA and had surgery to remove the tumor, chemo which she sailed through, except she lost her hair, would not wear a wig and was doing excellent! Then on a yearly recheck they found a spot on her liver. THE INSURANCE Company... INSURANCE COMPANY, MIND YOU, turned down the recomened chemo, which was radiation or something none invasive and choose to do a very invasive shooting poison into directly into her liver. She through clots and in a blink of a eye was gone. She would of been better off to REFUSE the TX and ask the the suicide pills and she would still be alive. Fuck Palin and her "pro-life" ILK! The have their head up their asses and don't know what the fuck they are talking about.
My friend would be alive if she refused the second "Ok'd" tx plan. She did so well and had all expectations of being alive today. On her BDay.
    RIP Bobbi!
I hope when Trump loses and he is losing BIG and so is all the fucked up teabagging gop palin will fade away and finally stfu!

    1. Anonymous3:27 PM

It amazes me that Americans still permit this absurd system where insurance companies make medical decisions. Even before we had single payer we never had a brutal health insurance scheme.

America's worship of money will continue to be a problem until it is extinguished.

    2. Anonymous3:55 PM

the power of the insurance lobby

    3. Anonymous4:16 PM

We do not have single payer. Except those over 65 of course.

    4. Anonymous7:00 PM

2:43 I am so sorry for your loss.

  12. Anonymous2:44 PM

This is the "death panel" that existed BEFORE Obamacare, and the one that Simple Sarah would gladly hand us back to by eliminating Obamacare. Like you said, without Obamacare it is likely she wouldn't have insurance at all by this point.

    1. Anonymous3:00 PM

Palin has a legacy State of Alaska lifetime health insurance policy for her and Todd via her stint as Governor. Why do you think they stay together?

Via the new ACA regulations her kids as well were able to stay on her policy until age 26, which means that the Stool was able to give birth too all of her bastards, including the latest, under her mother's policy. Nice huh? Even though our AK economy is in the toilet there's still money to pay for the failed Governor and her family to suck off the public teat.

    2. Anonymous4:15 PM

I actually think they are on free native healthcare because of Todd, not the ACA at all. And they also get a check for Trig, which is obviously not being used for therapies, hearing aids, or education.

    3. Anonymous5:29 PM

Sarah and fam would never deign use the native medical care available to them, they only play the "native card" when they have to.

Have you even seen a single one of them at any hospital but Mat-Su Regional?

  13. Anonymous2:47 PM

We Obamacare subscribers here in AK will now be members of the "one in five" Americans that only have access to one insurance carrier if participating in the ACA.

It's not ideal but MODA was priced out of the market due to so many newly subsidized participants seeking medical treatment after having been without insurance for most of their lives.

My parter and I aren't participating this year as our penalties are 5% the cost of actually purchasing a Premara Blue Cross policy with highest deductible and lowest premium.

By no means are we alone up here in no longer participating; estimates are 30% of ACA participants in Alaska will no longer take part and will pay the IRS penalty instead.

Hopefully this system can be streamlined and improved during the next administration.

When your options are nearly $15 grand in premiums for two individual policies both with 15,000 deductibles then 700 each for the tax penalty seems like a better deal.

The more people like us are forced to drop out the less likely it is that the system will work.

I see the ACA dissolving and the current people that enjoy the highest subsidies will be soon rolled into the Medicare program, and that really is what should happen, then the "affordable care" for those of us that don't qualify for the full-ride subsidy can perhaps be revisited or we just go back to the old ways where those of us, especially those of us self-employed folks, without employer provided insurance go without.

It makes little difference when the deductible is $15 grand, in the end, most medical is then paid out of pocket anyway.

    1. Anonymous3:13 PM

Your problem is the ridiculously inflated cost of health care and the corruption and price gouging it supports at all levels.

    2. Anonymous5:11 PM

Look no further than Congress for that blame.

    3. Anonymous3:36 AM

We shouldn't lose sight of the fact that Obama got us started, now we can improve the system as you say.

  14. Anonymous2:48 PM

Although my heath insurance under Obamacare is going up 50% next year along with an increase in the deductible, I still don’t blame Obamacare.

I place all the blame on the greedy insurance companies.

This year I took a gamble, since I have never been ill and went with a lower premium and higher deductible, just my luck I was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation. Thus far between premiums and paying for everything out of pocket I have paid out around $10,000, yet I still blame the insurance company !!!!!!

As far as what Sarah Palin has to say about death panels, just wait until someone in her family has to make the decision: life support for a brain dead person or pull the plug, then come crying about death panels. Ignoramus.

    1. Anonymous3:19 PM

So the fact that obama and bill c have said the bill sucks means nothing?

    2. Anonymous3:28 PM

      319, try English, bitch

    3. Anonymous3:36 PM

The ACA is falling apart like a Chinese motorcycle. What is happening with costs and insurers dropping out is exactly as predicted. A failure.

The only thing worse than government bureaucracy and it's costs, and insurance bureaucracy and it's costs and profit motivations, is the legally binding marriage between these two entities, which is what the ACA is.

    4. Anonymous3:56 PM

3.36 go away and look up 'apostrophe' and learn how to use one. You're not smart.

    5. Anonymous4:12 PM

So please, why didn't the GOP, in control since 2010, do more than hold votes to destroy the law, and not figure out how to FIX it? Why? Because the GOP would just as soon you die, just like any soldiers who dare come home alive. You need care? FU, vet. We'll call you when we need you for a photo op. Why can you not see that the GOP's repeal and replace is a lie? They want everyone not under a company plan to just stay sick.

    6. Anonymous7:39 PM

President Obama did get the greedy insurers to cover pre-existing conditions ~ and that was fantastic. Now, ACA needs freed from it's Republican (paid) shackles and go full-blown single-payer ~ administered like Medicaid.

We would all pay modest premiums and the profit would be removed; actuary charts would be used to reduce our premiums instead of maximizing a corporation's profit.

TennCare in Tennessee is an example of this type of program.

    7. Anonymous9:09 PM

Hey 3:56, stay right here and look up 'go fuck yourself'. You are smart, but we are all going to watch you while you stay here and fuck yourself.

    8. Anonymous9:17 PM

It is funny 7:39... you seem to think that it comes out of insurers pockets to cover pre-existing conditions. They don't care, if all the insurers are mandated to cover it, well then it is all good. Just pump some new numbers into the equation and walla, increased rates for everyone! Insurance happy to make the additional profit.

  15. Anonymous3:04 PM

And AGAIN, "attacking my integrity." WHAT integrity, Sarah? You have none and everyone knows it.

    1. Anonymous3:36 PM

    2. Anonymous3:49 PM

Not only that, but here we go again with the "my baby with Down Syndrome" again.

That 'baby' is now eight years old, and SHE was the one who refused to get him the therapies he needed early on to give him a fair shot in life. She can't blame that on President Obama and the ACA; it all falls back on her!

      I absolutely abhor that bitch!

    3. Anonymous4:09 PM

If she had any integrity, she would have been out on the trail this summer and now! NO ONE wanted her.

Not tRump after her egads endorsement speech, nor the three down ticket candidates she endorsed.

    4. Anonymous4:10 PM

Not only that, but she is getting a monthly check that is to go toward treatment and therapy, hearing aids and school aides. Wonder what she's doing with that cash form OUR tax dollars.

    5. Anonymous5:39 PM

going to Hawaii and funneling the rest to one of her LLC's

  16. Anonymous3:09 PM

Some one needs to lock this lying lunatic up so she can harm only herself. Her foolish self-pity and quest for revenge is dangerous to the sanity of true Americans. She is nothing more than Tokyo Rose, redux.

Hearing her name or seeing her pictures makes me want to vomit. Not a decent bone in her body nor a rational thought in whatever is rattling around in her skull.

    1. Anonymous5:39 PM

she seems to crucify those she cannot forget

    2. Anonymous6:58 PM

5:39 PM - Maybe she should read her ghostwritten Christmas book and live it daily? What a crock of crap "that" was. Just look at her!

  17. Anonymous3:10 PM

Backlash? Does she mean her eejits at the pond typing the president's name without capital letters just to hurt his feelings?

Remember when Death Panels Palin overplayed her hand and attacked a woman with Down Syndrome?

    1. Anonymous5:25 PM

Mindless evangelicals such as Palin call DS children, and other children born with physical or mental ailments , "gifts from god" and when they expire from their illnesses they say that "god needed another angel".

Why do they not refer to sick adults in the same manner? Why isn't an adult with cancer considered a "gift from god", I mean their god is twisted enough to "bless" children with mental and physical illnesses straight out of the womb isn't it also testament to his "loving us" that he graces certain special adults with illness and infirmity so that he can have another "angel in heaven"?

Their double standard regarding child and adult illness is rather stupefying, but then again, most of their dogma is.

    2. Anonymous9:02 PM

Yes, you would think dying would be a blessing because they go home to Jesus etc.

Instead they want to prolong life for the terminally ill and brain dead.

  18. Anonymous3:11 PM

Colin Powell is voting for Hillary Clinton.

  19. Anonymous3:13 PM

Sarah Palin should be fighting for this woman, instead of blaming others.
She does not care about this woman, she is using her situation to further her own agenda. She offers this woman nothing.
If she cared about others, she would have spent these years fighting to better Obamacare.
Trump and Republicans have offered the American people Nothing but criticism of this system.
It is not perfect, but more people are insured then ever before.
Sarah Palin sits at a keyboard and complains, how will that change anything???

  20. Anonymous3:19 PM

She's never played victim. Though she is one. And she was not first to comment on the provision where a panel would intervene. That existed.

    Liberal arguments are irrational.

    1. Anonymous3:31 PM

      Never played victim, my @ss!
      Whatever you say, troll.

    2. Anonymous3:32 PM

    3. Anonymous4:08 PM

Right. She's the poor little victim. What about Wal? What about Brad? What about her church fire? What about so many many people who dared cross the Palins and paid for it?
And the only panels there are exist in insurance companies. They have nothing to do with the ACA. Would you prefer that the ACA DID tell insurers exactly what they can and cannot cover? I thought you guys were all about the free market, which means things will NOT be covered just because someone thinks that $1000 a day medicine might buy them a month.

    4. Anonymous4:16 PM

3:19-- It's not that liberal arguments are irrational, it's that your primitive conservative brain, according to social science, is too feeble to grasp basic integrative complexities. Stop trying to figure it out and go back to your coloring books.

    5. Anonymous5:18 PM

For once you are correct. She IS a victim, a victim of mental retardation.

I personally am THRILLED that health insurance is willing to pay for the drugs to end life with dignity. Of course I am not some religious talibangelical nut, nor a sheeple with any organized religion.

I filed my advance directive 20 years ago. Have you all done so?

  22. Anonymous3:20 PM

"Some Republicans are running so far away from their party’s nominee that they are threatening to sue TV stations for running ads that suggest they support Donald Trump.

Just two weeks before Election Day, five Republicans ― Reps. Bob Dold (R-Ill.), Mike Coffman (R-Colo.), David Jolly (R-Fla.), John Katko (R-N.Y.) and Brian Fitzpatrick, a Pennsylvania Republican running for an open seat that’s currently occupied by his brother ― contend that certain commercials paid for by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee provide false or misleading information by connecting them to the GOP nominee.

Trump is so terrible, these Republicans are essentially arguing, that tying them to him amounts to defamation. "

LOL. I guess they are trying to take a page out of Trump's book and sue to shut the press up. I always knew the Republicans didn't support any of the amendments except for the Second and the Fifth.

  23. Sarah is such a fucktard. There have always been "death panels" Loooong before Obamacare. Healthcare providers often rejected treatment if they thought that the patient would not benefit from the treatment, if the treatment was experimental, or if death was imminent. And, btw, Sarahtard was not the first idiot to say that there would death panels. That would be the other idiot, Betsy McCaughey.

    1. Anonymous5:29 PM

Palin is never original with her lies and distortions. She just grabs anything that sounds mean and runs with it.

    2. Anonymous12:54 AM

      @Patti 3:22 pm
Thank you stating the fact that ol' Sarah P did not originate the term 'death panels.' It seems that most did not/do not know that Sarah simply glommed on to some one else's 'claim to fame' and used it as her own look-at-me cleverness. *gack*

      Betsy McCaughey has that distinction.

  24. Anonymous3:26 PM

I think Sarah Palin needs one of these:

"The instructions list several other bogus conspiracies championed by Trump ― that Clinton and Obama founded ISIS, that Sen. Ted Cruz’s father played a role in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, and that thousands in New Jersey celebrated the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

“In fact, if we elected Donald Trump,” the cutout reads, “we could have a president dedicated to the truth: where is Elvis? Where did we film the moon landing?”

The new caps, the Clinton campaign added, will ensure Trump can “continue his quest for knowledge without any ... intrusion.”

The tin-foil hat that has come to symbolize paranoia and belief in conspiracy theories originated in a 1927 science-fiction novel that suggested foil would block mind control, according to a 2013 article in Business Insider. It doesn’t work, a 2005 MIT study found."

  25. Anonymous3:34 PM

    Palin has integrity. Please.

    1. Anonymous4:09 PM

Sarah Palin is a worthless piece of shit.

  26. Anonymous3:46 PM

In my area the problem was/is the provider attitude. I personally would like taxpayers to own their own healthcare medicare/system, pharma, research, treatment, and remove the insurance for profit. Insurance was not even offered or necessary until 60's. In those days the doctor charged reasonable amount and you paid cash. There was no insurance. Time to simplify this and take profits out. No healthcare for profit, No prisons for profit, No schools for profit, No utilities for profit. The Basics are not for profit. Make yer money another way.

    1. Anonymous3:55 PM

We didn't need ins for most problems because the costs weren't jacked so high for every little thing.

    2. Anonymous5:27 PM

      3:46 Amen!

    3. In the '50s My little brother got sick when he developed something after a bought with the flu. He was in the hospital for a month. We didn't have insurance, my dad paid for that for 15 years.

    4. Anonymous12:57 AM

Blue Cross/Blue Shield started off as a nonprofit (paperwork) and did not become concerned about being a money maker until Aetna made much money being the intermediary between doctor and hospital and patient.

  28. Damn, but I'll be happy when this election is over and we can get back to talking about the foibles and foolishness of the Palin Freak Show.

The Trump Freak Show just isn't funny any longer while the Palin Freak Show is always coming up with something new!!!

May you never have someone treat you or someone you love so callously if your time ever comes. This is one of the meanest things you've ever written. Is it because she's RC?

    1. Anonymous4:59 PM

I watched doctors torture my mother for ten years. I wish they had told me there was no cure for her. I wish they had told me they were moving the goal posts on her life. They gave her false hope. She was scared and believed them. Fuck each and ever one of her doctors for disgracing the finest woman I have ever know.

    2. Anonymous5:07 PM

4:59 PM - I am so sorry. I lost both of my parents within the last eight years and it is so tough.

    3. Anonymous5:09 PM

Grypen was stating there was no hope. In some cases there is no hope. It's not that he's being heartless. I mean when there's no hope there's no hope. Not Grypen's fault. Not the doctor's fault. It's the condition itself that is at fault. Geez, stop looking to twist this in you convoluted view of the world around you. The rest of us knew what was meant. You and Sarah Palin go fuck yourselves.

    4. Anonymous5:26 PM

Does RC mean Catholic? If so, then 'no'. She follows no religion but claims to so she can suck in the weak and gullible. She and her entire family give Christians a bad name.

  31. Anonymous4:00 PM

Relax, kids- Obamacare is just Trump's new thing of the day that Sarah is trying to jump up on.

As usual she's wasting her time because he is going to fuck this one up too.

    1. Anonymous5:24 PM

She keeps hoping that she'll find some little thing to cover for all her mistakes. Rather than admitting she's ever been wrong or outright lied, she is in a panic to find even the smallest diversion. It's not surprising she started riding trump's tail, who else but another disgusting liar who lives to hurt the lives of others. She and her new boyfriend are dreadful and not fit to be called human.

    2. Anonymous7:14 PM

5:24 PM - Schmidt and Wallace said that if she ever tried to get near the WH again, many would speak out of just what '08 was. I'm sure the big players think her Facebook screeds are humorous and not worth their time.

      Bleat on, $arah.

  32. Anonymous4:09 PM

The year prior to the Affordable Care Act my children's father was denied a chemotherapy protocol after his inoperable tumor continued to grow despite radiation and other chemo protocols the insurance paid for. He had a tentacle like tumor in the control center (pons) of the brain stem. It is always a fatal prognosis. When declined he already lost speech, sight and the cancer metastasized to the spinal cord. He had a death sentence by cancer. When his death neared, obvious from medical records the insurance denied coverage of another clinical trial. Fuck your nonsense Sarah Palin.

When a human gets chemo when near their end of life they are completely paralyzed , blind, speechless, in severe pain it may be humane to not inject them with chemo. This case had nothing to do with "deserving" or deemed worthy but the reality of being at the threshold of death from disease.

  33. Anonymous4:09 PM

O/T; but I just got back home from early voting. I voted for the only candidate on the ballot that is qualified and ready to assume the job day one: Hillary Rodham Clinton. I kept thinking to myself while standing in line of what she said in the last debate. "While I was in the White House Situation Room, watching in real time, our forces take out Osama bin Laden, Donald was hosting The Apprentice." Yeah, that pretty much sums this election up. I'm proud to have pulled that 'lever' for Hillary, and down vote all D's!!!

  34. Anonymous4:12 PM

  35. Anonymous4:13 PM

Before the pre existing clause my friend was denied coverage for anything related to diabetes for one year. About 1yr and 1 month he had a heart attack and it ended up costing the insurance 10x the cost instead of just providing the preventative diabetic care for the year denied due to the pre existing condition. This consumer protection alone saved millions of lives and made the affordable aka "Obama care" worthy for cost for everyone. Keep it and improve it.

  36. Anonymous4:15 PM

I am fucking angry at the fucking thought of this stupid hateful rhetorical nonsense.
Sarah Palin do yourself a favor stfu!!!!
You are clearly an abomination! Who/when/how did you become so fucking ignorant! I would take some time to think about it. Now bend over , take a deep breath and blow your head out of your stupid flat Ass!!!!

  37. Anonymous4:21 PM

Will she EVER stop opining on things that she knows absolutely nothing about?

    1. Anonymous8:10 PM

No, not if she thinks there is a lonely soul out there willing to send her a couple nickels. She is greedy, needy and well past seedy.

    2. Anonymous8:41 PM

Who even goes to her facebook page?

I thought most of her fans jumped ship when she endorsed Trump.

And I still believe her PAC is a money laundering scheme.

  38. Anonymous4:26 PM

Hey Sarah Palin, next time your want to bring up Death Panels, lets discuss how prayers failed first!

    1. Anonymous5:37 PM

If she is soooo concerned about her parents' health, why wasn't she home when Creepy Chuck Sr. had his quadruple bypass? All about her as usual!

    2. Anonymous11:03 PM

Yeah and how is that MS in Australia doing?
It's not who you know it's what you know?

  39. Anonymous4:33 PM

Fuck little Prick Sean & Kock Suckers: Send them to a Gulag.

  40. Anonymous5:02 PM

To shill for a handful of coins this harridan who has no interest in facts nor the ability to process them continues her vendetta to hurt so many innocent people. The only thing these people are guilty of is not being able to afford insurance or have pre-existing conditions that regular policies will not cover.

May she rot in hell for her selfish harangues whose only goal is hoping for a little attention. It's no wonder her children are so screwed up with her inability to understand or tell the truth.

    1. Anonymous7:19 PM

When Palin lies and Trump lies people who believe their lies may miss out on being able to buy insurance they could afford with the subsidy. They do not care if people suffer from treatable conditions, are able to get medications or die because of their lies.

  41. Anonymous5:59 PM

The article in the New York Post does not give us enough medical information so we can have an informed opinion of the story. It is written for the purpose of playing on our heartstrings.

The woman may have other options. She can ask to be included in a trial for an experimental drug or treatment. She can always consult other people in the field. There reaches a point where her insurance company weighs the amount money it would cost to add a few years to her and decide that the money could be spent in the interest of other patients with more successful results. We don't know the cost of her medication, but she could try one of those Go Fund Me programs in order to pay for the treatment. And maybe, just maybe, the drug or another treatment is available in another country at a lower cost. The story was written with only one option available when she has more choices.

    1. Anonymous6:39 PM

The New York Post is a rag paper, owned by Rupert Murdoch, endorsing Trump. There is a bill trying to make it through Congress (if they ever come back from come back from their 'holidays' vacation now in effect) asking alternate treatments, as provided in other countries, to be considered other than SOP allowed now.

I cannot remember the exact name, but introduced on behalf of ALS patients.

      The problem IS Congress.

    2. Anonymous6:58 PM

Sorry, but the problem isn't even congress's prob;em. No insurance company has ever paid for experimental treatment.

    3. Anonymous7:06 PM

      Pardon repetititive words above.
      Watching Game 1 World Series.

    4. Anonymous7:20 PM

Yes it is, 6:58 PM, who do you think regulates them?

  42. Anonymous6:37 PM

Sain't Sarah wrote that post herself.

  43. Anonymous6:56 PM

Let's remember our old friend from Virginia whose friends were moved to raise money for his heart transplant because the mean old mean old folks in charge of Obamacare won't let him have the operation.

Never mind that at his age, and in his poor physical condition, an operation would be risky. Anesthesia would be another problem for him. He has little chance of surviving the operation, so they are more likely to give the heart to a younger, healthier patient with the possibility of a longer life.

    So much for death panels.

    1. Anonymous8:08 PM

At his age the old geezer would likely be on Medicare. No ACA involved. He is a fake who keeps posting these end o' life stories but he is actually just a sockpuppet trying his worst to keep the minnows swimming in the pee pond.

    2. Anonymous5:04 AM

I haven't seen him post nor mentioned over there in quite a while. Bedridden? '

  44. Anonymous6:57 PM

    Sara = *yawn*
Insurance companies do not pay for treatment that hasn't passed FDA approval.
Luckily my Dad got under an experimental treatment for cancer, infusion therapy with a new "cocktaiL'and paid nothing for it a few yrs ago/ This ended up being the same treatment that President Jimmy Carter ended up receiving after it was approved. While it didn't kill all the melanoma cancer tumors, the individual tumors shrunk and have given my Dad( and Jimmy Carter) a bit more time.
Sorry Sara, but insurance companies have NEVER paid for experimental treatment.
Get over it and before you crawl back under your rock maybe you should acknowledge your new bastard....err......I mean....new "gift from Jeebus" grandchild.

  45. Anonymous7:00 PM

I remember. after Palin's Paul Revere
stupidity, the next day she was on
some Fox show trying to prove she was
right and repeated making a fool of
herself. During the last debate in
Las Vegas, there was not one mention
of her in our two newspapers,
The Review Journal (Republican) and The
Las Vegas Sun,( Democrat). No written,
no visual , no nothing. She will grasp at
anything! If Trump doesn't hire her for
something, she knows she is done!

  46. Anonymous7:00 PM

Maybe if Sara Palin, the millionaire, is so touched by this story then she should open her christian heart and offer to PAY for this experimental treatment?
    What do you say Sara?
Sell off that extra home or a couple of cabins and you will be graced by christ for attempting to save this person's life.

    1. Anonymous8:47 PM

What and give up her plastic surgery!!

  47. Anonymous7:00 PM

The well known Sarah Palin taint keeps on keeping on.

    Joe Arpaio!

The old fart once gave Sarah some pink underwear. Or did Joe Arpiehole give the pink underwear to Toad? http://gawker.com/5672861/creepy-sheriff-gives-sarah-palin-pink-underwear

  48. Anonymous7:10 PM

True story. Before Obama care my Mother In Law was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. Her insurance would not pay for a treatmant that costs one thousand dollars a month.

It would not save her but by her a little time. It's a cold calculated business.

There needs to be some middle ground where the average income family can afford insurance.

  49. Anonymous7:33 PM

Obamacare has nothing to do with death panels. It is not in the law anywhere! Insurance companies make their decisions, the ones you support you know, the ones that pay their CEO's millions of dollars, but turn down someone that is dying because of the cost of a life saving drug? Mine turned me down 5 times and I was dying. I had to appeal to the drug company, who gave it to me for free because my damned insurance did not want to pay for it. Those are your death panels. But, of course, you cannot be bothered to check those pesky little things called facts!

    1. Anonymous10:53 PM

It's coming from Sarah Palin, one of the world's slimiest little shit head liars. I wish this on no one except her; may metastatic cancer pay her a visit.

  50. My sister is a registered nurse who's worked just about every specialty there is. Her current job is in an infusion/cancer care clinic where she alternately is a staff nurse taking care of patients, and alternately handles the paperwork involved with getting approval from the insurance companies for the insanely expensive cancer oral chemotherapy drugs - the newest form of cancer treatment, supplementing IV chemo and radiation treatment.

The county I live in has a LOT of elderly residents, because it's a mild-climate, relatively inexpensive beautiful place to spend one's retirement. Therefore there are a greater-than-normal number of cancer patients. The population makes it one of the worst places to get insurance coverage. The insurance companies know they have the insureds and the caregivers over a barrel. They make it as tough as possible on the caregivers to get them to part with coverage funds for treatment.

    1. Anonymous3:39 AM

Location should in no way affect insurance premiums. Medical need and available of the requisite care should be the primary issues that determine what care a person receives. But insurance and big pharmaceutical companies s are "for profit" so the people who benefit the most are the executives and shareholders. This is why this country needs single-payor insurance. It's taking us forever to get there. Hopefully a President Clinton can make strides in steering us in that ever-elusive direction.

Back in the 1980's when HMO's were up and coming, the newly-minted MBA's in Californian insurance world were considering no longer covering cataract surgery for Medicare and Medicaid patients, having decided that it was elective rather than necessary surgery. Just imagine the number of blind people there would have been 10 years later if that irresponsible opinion had been allowed to prevail. I had my cataract surgery in my early 50's (over 20 years ago); not everyone is at death's door when cataract surgery is needed.

I wonder if the people who made the insurer decision in this woman's case sleep well at night. They should at least worry a little about themselves and their family members when the grim reaper (in business duds) is circling around their homes.

  51. Anonymous10:08 PM

Sarah Palin should use these true life photos to get her message out.

  52. Anonymous3:28 AM

Sorry Gryphen. You are wrong on this. Insurance companies are death panels of sorts.
Yes this woman has terminal cancer, but a phase 1 or 2 drug could buy her some time.
This story does us no favors whatsoever.
Insurance companies need to go . go go go. I work in cancer medicine and people can live a bit extra plus HELP OTHERS by finding out the side effects and efficacy of these phase trial drugs.
And sending this women assisted suicide info instead makes the whole shitshow more inflammatory.
    Palin wins this one.

OWWWW. My finger just went all splody typing that. Damn!!

  53. Anonymous8:17 AM

Insurance companies DO need to go.
Palin DOESN'T win this one. Are you high, 3:28AM?
Any patient who's facing an incurable illness that will kill them needs a doctor who will give them the facts on end of life decisions, and not some soft soap. To treat death as an unmentionable, is as stupid as "storks bring babies" cuz you're too hung-up to discuss sex. A terminal patient needs to get their affairs in order and have those awkward, long avoided conversations with family and friends before it's too late.
This lady was not handed a death sentence by the ins. co. in this case(her god's the one in control of her cancer, eh?), and that's Payme's pitiful failed point. Well, that and trying her best to throw shade at POTUS.
I think this story does do us 'favors', it gets us talking about something uncomfortable that we will ALL have to go thru one day. We Will All Die One Day, like it or not. Nobody gets out alive.

    1. Anonymous11:27 AM

Gee honey. If no ine entered phase 1 and 2 trials we'd still have smallpox. Thank goodness terminal patients agree to try therapy for those that come after them. Your statements are ignorant.

  54. Anonymous9:45 AM

Remember folks, politicians are in the pockets of big medicine. On both sides too. Big medicine, like big oil, and big gun tell our politicians when to squat and shit. Palin knows this. She was one of them. The Affordable Care Act was a way to make healthcare work for us but with politicians spinning their lies it is hard to do good work. Big medicine is not going to let it go. They want to be able to charge you seven hundred dollars for an epipen without you being able to do a damn thing about it. We all know this. We all know who is behind the laws. Obama wasn't the one to think up the Affordable Care Act. He worked hard to make it reality but somehow Republicans fight it. Because they are in the big medicine pockets of coarse. We know this. So stop, Palin with the name calling. You know this. You worked in government and know that big business is at work here in Amercia. All in the name of the bottomline. Obama tried to get around that. He tried in face of hard capitalism to make things work for the people. He knew it was fruitless but I give him credit for going against the grain and trying. Sarah, you by throwing around words like death panels, and gun rights, just help big business. The happy thing I personally perceive in all of this, is yes, we are all going to die. Trump, Palin, Me and you. We got it coming. That is the great equalizer. Now make it good and say and do something good on this earth instead of trying to be vindicated for stupid shit you spouted in one of your' many tirades. (Speaking, now, to Palin, and Trump.)

  55. Anonymous3:39 PM

First, and above all, Sarah knows shit of what she speaks, she read a tweet and injected herself into a rabbit hole. I don't care what you're afflicted with, your health is YOUR responsibility. Ask questions, ask more until you're satisfied you can make an informed decision. Insurance Companies don't care about you one iota, they're after your money. I survived stage four breast cancer eight years ago, and again four months ago (I got a clean bill of health, fingers crossed) and medicine has advanced beyond what I expected. The first operation was hell, w/chemo, radiation and clinical trials, a separate reconstruction surgery wasn't covered because it was considered "cosmetic". This time, thanks to Angelian Jolie and other women who spoke up, I had everything done in one operation, and everything was covered under ACA. Everything except tv and the phone. They're using genes to tailor your treatment to your body/type of cancer. Our girls got tested, which isn't covered, but worth the piece of mind.
Ladies and Gentlemen, get yourselves checked and act as quickly as possible.

Don't feed the trolls!
It just goes directly to their thighs.
