Acting U.S. Attorney Tom Beall says Curtis Allen, 49, Gavin Wright, 51, and Patrick Stein were all charged with domestic terrorism.
Beall said the three were planning to bomb an apartment complex and mosque in Garden City occupied by a Muslim community of about 120 Somali refugees.
Beall said the men planned to carry out the attack on Nov. 9, the day after Election Day.
He said the men stockpiled a large cache of firearms, and ammunition.
Beall said the men planned to park vehicles full of explosives at all four corners of the Garden City apartment complex.
The men said they wanted to "wake people up".
Apparently these three considered themselves sovereign citizens and belonged to a militia group called "The Crusaders."
Catchy name don't you think?
Gee firearms, bombs, a coordinated attack on innocent people, if these were Islamic jihadists this would really be terrifying and worthy of media attention.
But it's just a bunch of white dudes so clearly Fox News has more important things to cover.
Headline missing a 'd'
ReplyDeleteLooks to me like it's missing an 'n', not a 'd'.
DeleteCall them what they are: ALT RIGHT! Yes Palin & Trump supporters and Breitbart/Drudge readers. That is who they are.
DeleteIn 09 DHS put out a memo about these assholes and republicans screamed like a stuck pig.
Howerever, LOOK at what is happening now? Uneducated White male adults, the ones who think palin is "hawt" and Trump is more than a con man. The "Idocray's" of the world is who they are. The Deplorables. 'comeon Barstool and Duh, defend your leader!
Defend the undefensible!
Fundamental Christians are worse then the Muslims they talk about.
ReplyDeleteIslam is experiencing THEIR dark ages like Christianity went thru 1000 years ago. Will probably take them a thousand years to get over it too.
DeleteCan any other religion be as dark ages as Fundamental Christians are now? The fundies are so far down it will take them 10,000 years or more to start to get over it.
DeleteI hope these guys are not the tip of the iceberg...
ReplyDeleteLest we forget the worst attack on US soil before 9/11 was in Oklahoma by the same sort of radical Christian terrorists. Trump may have fired these RCTs up with his rhetoric so perhaps more focus needs to be placed on domestic terrorists of the white kind.
ReplyDeleteI believe that anyone who knows of people forming militias should report them to the authorities in case they are planning on murdering innocent people who do not look like them or speak English.
DeletePrior to Sarah Palin did any politicians use extreme rhetoric that our country. Is being taken away? I understand psychological manipulation to get people to like them by manipulation to hate the other using fear mongering. It is very effective when people plan mass murders in an irrational justification they are taking their country back when in reality nothing has been taken from them. You can't reason with crazy, evil or irrational people.
I believe that anyone who knows of people forming militias should report them to the authorities.
DeleteSee something, Say something.
Sovereign citizens are also common cop killers - it fits in neatly as part of their anti-government ideology. Oh but their white so forget-about-it.
ReplyDeleteIt's more a matter of who cops inherently fear. It's not "Bubbas".
DeleteMaybe these guys should get one-way tickets to Somalia so that they can see how difficult the lives of ordinary people are there. They can look in vain for work and then struggle unsuccessfully to feed and house themselves.
ReplyDeleteBeaglemom
Not to worry~
ReplyDeleteThe idiots at the pond are on this. They think it's a "false flag". The government is ready to put us all in fema camps and take away our food and guns.
I've been trying to determine what species they are. Nothing so far.
DeleteHalf say false flag, other half says patriot.
DeleteAlthough his heart is giving out and therefore does not post as much, I find it interesting that Mr. Second Amendment Solutions VG has not said word ONE since "grab 'em by the p*ssy" went public.
DeleteNot to worry, Alaska's commander in chief and Sergeant Cain'tgitright are in control. Unky Chucky knows what cooks and keeps the workers updated. It is time to move to Mat-Su Valley where you will be safe when the apicoplast pops.
DeleteThose 3 domestic terrorists would shoot Todd half-breed Palin on sight. Rednecks don't like half-breeds.
DeleteWhy do I suspect these clowns couldn't afford one car between them, let alone 4.
ReplyDeleteThey were probably planning to rent moving vans like their hero, Timothy McVeigh.
DeleteAnd so pooty snuggled with india and trump now praises india. Yep. watch the connections grow. follow the trail
ReplyDeleteSomeone earlier (somewhere) said it often boils down to the country people vs the city people. There's truth in that. As a child, I'd listen to my father and his farmer friends talking darkly about the "people in the big city." They also hated the greedy "middle men." They really were quite helpless; I could see that. Many of them tried life in the city and failed. Just some thoughts.
ReplyDeleteThis well written article speaks to that . . . content://com.sec.android.app.sbrowser/readinglist/1015175959.mhtml
DeleteTrying that again

City girls seem to find out early, how to open doors with just a smile. Country Girls, lets just say, revolving doors keep them really busy.

ReplyDeleteMe, my family, and all of my friends, associates, all of the pastors I have had over the decades, are liberal Democrats who are Christians. Jesus walks around this earth as a LIBERAL. He was liberal in every way.
And I have been around a long time, I am almost 70.
The Conservative Christians are the minority.
That sounds like what many American Muslims say.
DeleteNo argument with you, I agree, most American Christians are just fine. Please take it in the spirit it was delivered. Which is mocking those who insist Obama is askeered to say "radical Islamic terrorism". I didn't think I had to explain it.
Anon 4:08
"Jesus walks around this earth as a LIBERAL."
DeleteWell, actually if Jesus did, in fact, exist he does NOT walk around this earth today.
There is a ton of bibles translated over the centuries to suit the political desires of the rulers of their day. The Jesus that exists in all those translations is no more liberal than the men that invented him.
Cherry picking bible verses to suit one's version of "christianity" is a fun game practiced by every single self-professed christian.
The only "true" christians that I know are the ones that keep their whacky religious beliefs to themselves unless someone actually expresses an interest in hearing about said whacky-ness.
From what I can see very few adherents to the religion of Flying Spaghetti Monster are conservatives/Republicans.
DeleteProbably a small minority of them are but, in general, they seem a pretty liberal lot.
So far, no FSM believers have been implicated in a domestic terrorism plot. But I'm sure when it happens, the FSM crowd will clamor about it being a minority in an otherwise outstandingly fabulously spectacularly great religion.
It's "radical religious terrorism" whether it's bombs or over-turning Roe V. Wade.
ReplyDeleteReligion is a huge industry, very profitable and easy to get a foothold in the market. No way is any "established" religion going to cede a tiny bit of their power to milk their morons. So a decrease in radical religious terrorism is very unlikely.
I'm a Christian. A real Christian. Not like those people that say they are Christian. When they say they are Christian you should not believe them. When I say I am Christian you should believe me. Because I am a good Christian. Not like those...
ReplyDeleteBeen hearing this crap my whole life and it pisses me off every time.
Agree completely. Run like hell from ANY xtian, especially the ones who set themselves apart as better than "other" xtians, as these are the ones with the most hideous crap to hide. YEECH!
DeleteThese are the same "Christians" that believe Catholics are NOT Christians because...who knows? I've heard because they worship idols. Or because they aren't Baptists because only Baptists are Christians.
Delete"radical religious terrorism"
ReplyDeleteThat is perfect! That is what it is, whether they are foreign or domestic-- same thing. No need to call it differently when it's an American, same results. Death to those not like/with us.
"radical religious terrorism"
ReplyDeleteIs that Sgt. Palin's problem? Why was he left in charge of the religious family values arsenal on the dead lake? Does he lead the sovereign citizens of Wasilla?
What plans do they have now they know what big losers they all are?
7:02 AM - yes, and who are they to decide they're the ultimate authority? They're standing on a Bible that teaches the exact opposite.
ReplyDelete7:25 PM - reminds me of when $arah came out with her Christmas book a couple of years ago. Oh FFS, who was she trying to kid with that claptrap?
ReplyDeleteWonder if "There were bombs all over their living room!"like those San Bernadino Muslim terrorists had. Oh, sorry. That was a lie in order to explain Islamophobia by Donald Trump. We won't hear much about this particular terrorist plan because the perps are white, probably self-identified Christians and flag-waving "Patriots." Yes sirree, we got terrorists everywhere; just look at the people at a Trump rally. Scares me.
ReplyDeleteI hope the police searched for Sam Brownback and Operation Rescue literature and contact info to see who the perps were inspired by and coordinating with.
DeleteDerp!
ReplyDeleteWhen The Arizona Republic endorsed Hillary Clinton a few weeks ago the response was both predictable and deplorable.

"First, to those who called
To the anonymous caller who invoked the name of Don Bolles — he’s the Republic reporter who was assassinated by a car bomb 40 years ago — and threatened that more of our reporters would be blown up because of the endorsement, I give you Kimberly. She is the young woman who answered the phone when you called. She sat in my office and calmly told three Phoenix police detectives what you had said. "

"To those who said we should be shut down, burned down, who said they hoped we would cease to exist under a new presidential administration, I give you Nicole. She is our editor who directs the news staff, independent of our endorsements. After your threats, Nicole put on her press badge and walked with her reporters and photographers into the latest Donald Trump rally in Prescott Valley, Ariz. She stood as Trump encouraged his followers to heckle and boo and bully journalists. Then she came back to the newsroom to ensure our coverage was fair. Nicole knows free speech requires an open debate."
