Donald Trump is costing New York taxpayers one million dollars a day for security. And THEY didn't even vote for him.

Hah! You elected me, and now it's gonna cost ya!
Courtesy of CNN Money:

Protecting President-elect Donald Trump and his family is costing New York City more than $1 million a day, according to three city officials.

And those costs won't necessarily drop significantly once he moves to the White House.

That's because Melania Trump and their 10-year old son Barron expect to stay at their home at Trump Tower in midtown Manhattan, at least until the end of the school year. And Donald Trump has indicated he plans to return home regularly, especially while they're still here.

Adding to the expense is the cost of police assigned to Trump's adult children and his grandchildren, who are also receiving Secret Service protection, John Miller, NYPD's deputy commissioner of intelligence & counterterrorism, told WCBS Monday. All of them live in the city, and all are entitled to receive Secret Service protection.

This has to be doubly frustrating for resident of New York  since the state went for Hillary in a big way.

And here they are stuck with protecting a man that most of them would probably like to choke to death personally.

But just you wait America, if you think this is bad it will pale in comparison to what he is going to cost the rest of us.

Waiting to hear from repugs that so vociferously complained of the cost to taxpayers for the Obamas' yearly Christmas trip to Hawaii security detail.

Trump is going to cost the taxpayer's far more money than President Obama EVER did!

Republicans suck big time. Anyone that voted for one (on the national, state or town levels) is an idiot! And, they are soon going to realize it!

The Republicans will never admit wrong thinking even as they are drowning drowning under water this coming Spring and Summer. They are thick headed, and driving our country down the drain. But it's all good. I think having Donnie Boy show his true colors whatever that is for the day is good. Tomorrow he'll build a wall, the next, eh, maybe not. My bet is after Jan. 20 he tries to further channel Hitler with Bannon whispering instructions in his ear. Let's see how that goes. Scary times.

This is ridiculous that security has to be at the Trump Plaza or whatever the Hell his building(s) are called! If he's not in them - don't put security there!

Look at the number of security agents around Trump whenever he is out and about. It's way more than President Obama had and has and there were suppose to be uumpteen threats on President Obama's life!

Personally, I could care less if Trump is protected - let him pay for his own security! I don't want him covered by taxpayer's money! He is not my potus and will never be!

It is OK for the rest of us to pay for his security because he doesn't want to move his is bed to Washington, but he doesn't contribute anything himself.

Hasn't anyone ever heard of a budget? They scream and holler about deficits, but now there is no "security budget" for him? One that he would need to live within? If it doesn't cover the cost for protection at all places he feels like going, and his family at other places, then -- guess what, he has to consolidate the family or cover costs himself?? Right? why not? Can't the office of Budget tell him that? I know, this is cost to NYC and the budget office is DC, but come on, this is lousy.

In addition he will cost the businesses in the area of his building a bloody fortune in lost sales everytime the security is amped up to protect him. He owns houses all over the country, so it would seem to me one of them could be used instead of his NYC apt.

There is a limit to this protection stuff for the asshole who many of us will not ever recognize as potus. All of his family members should not be covered - too many of them.

I suggest someone in the U.S. Congress come out with something as to dollar limits as to security and what security will actually cover. It needs to be outlined and a specific law!

Trump should not be covered by security as far as I'm concerned. There are too many agents that are always around him - more than we ever saw protecting our wonderful President Obama! Let him pay for the security as he can well afford it!

I don't like paying my tax dollars for Trump and his family!

We are in for a mess once the asshole has taken his oath. Be ready America to fight him every step of the way - especially when he goes against minorities and Muslims - all that are Americans just like the rest of us!

Here’s what Trump has said about the overtime rule:

“We have to address the issues of over-taxation and over-regulation and the lack of access to credit markets to get our small business owners thriving again," Trump said. “Rolling back the overtime regulation is just one example of the many regulations that need to be addressed to do that. We would love to see a delay or a carve-out of sorts for our small business owners."

But what does he mean by “small business”? There are so many corporations that claim to be small businesses. I remember hearing a list of examples on MSNBC a few years ago, I think on Ed Schultz’s show. Many names were recognizable as big companies that we all buy product s from. It was sickening that they were able to get away with being a “small business” and not pay corporate income taxes.

The Trump Foundation admitted in its 2015 tax filings that it violated US law by transferring funds to a "disqualified person" — a practice known as "self-dealing." [Washington Post / David Fahrenthold]
Literally, it just straight-up admitted to illegal behavior. The tax form asked if the foundation had transferred assets to a "disqualified person," and the foundation's tax preparer checked "Yes."
Who the "disqualified person" was, and what the funds were used for, aren't clear from the IRS filing. But thanks to previous reporting from the Washington Post's David Fahrenthold, we know that the Trump Foundation paid legal fees for some lawsuits against Trump and his holdings — so it could be something like that. [Washington Post / David Fahrenthold]
Tax experts say the self-dealing prohibition is incredibly easy to follow. "It’s as if," one former IRS official told Forbes, "no one ever bothered to learn what the rule was." [Forbes / Ashlea Ebeling]
It is also, for the record, literally what Donald Trump spent the campaign accusing Hillary Clinton of doing with the Clinton Foundation
(despite there being NO evidence of that whatsoever). http://www.vox.com/2016/11/22/13720852/vox-sentences-irs-trump-foundation-self-dealing

Anyone seen this from Gov. Executive site? A comparison of the first week post election, Obama vs Trump. Most interesting to me is Trump's use of an unsecured line, whereas Obama went to an FBI unit.

    Election Day +1

2008: The day after the election, the Obama-Biden transition project announce their entire team, including three co-chairs, a twelve-member advisory board, and thirteen staffers, largely drawn from long-time congressional and executive branch Democratic staffers and government officials. The team notes that anyone who lobbied on an issue in the past 12 months could not work on it. They begin vetting potential appointees to office.

2016: Trump does not make any official announcement.

    Election Day +2

2008: Obama meets with his economic advisory team and announces his White House chief of staff would be Rep. Rahm Emmanuel.

2016: Trump goes to Washington, where he meets with Obama in the Oval office to discuss the transition.

    Election Day +3

2008: Obama holds his first post-election press conference; these were more innocent times, when an unfortunate joke about Nancy Reagan holding seances in the White House required an apology from the president-elect.

2016: Trump has yet to hold a single press conference with reporters since his election. But there’s action today: Scandal-tainted New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is ousted from his job leading the transition, and the duties are handed over to Vice President-elect Mike Pence. Trump also announces his transition advisory board, which includes three of his children and his son-in-law, and an eight-person staff.

(Pence reportedly wanted to clean up the team, which was largely populated with lobbyists. Yesterday, Nov. 16, one lobbyist told Quartz he was still part of the transition process; the transition has not yet announced who is leading agency review teams.)

    Election Day +4

2008: Obama makes no major announcements. (It’s Saturday.)

2016: Trump makes no major announcements. (It’s also Saturday.)

    Election Day +5

2008: Obama makes no major announcements. (It’s Sunday.)

2016: Trump spends Sunday tweeting, then announces Stephen Bannon, the former publisher of the right-wing website Breitbart, and Reince Priebus, current chairman of the Republican party, will be his top adviser and chief of staff, respectively.

    Election Day +6

2008: Obama meets with President Bush in the Oval office to discuss the transition. His transition team members begin meeting with the executive branch staffers on an agency level to put the transition in place.

2016: Trump takes a phone call from Russian President Vladimir Putin on an unsecured line at his home in Trump Tower. He speaks to several other world leaders on the same line. (During his transition, Obama went to an FBI office in Chicago to speak with world leaders in a secure communications facility.)

    Election Day +7

2008: Obama makes a statement on the importance of Veterans’ Day and laid a wreath on a memorial in Chicago. (Trump did not issue a Veterans’ Day statement or attend any memorial events.)

2016: Pence signs a memorandum of understanding that is needed to begin the legal transition process; the document had previously been signed by Christie and was made invalid when he was removed from his position. Trump meets with advisers at his home.

    Election Day +8

2008: Obama announces his agency review leaders, and the specific teams of staffers who will review policies and appointments for the Departments of State, Treasury, and Defense.

2016: Executive branch officials say they are waiting for news of the Trump transition’s agency review teams.
