Hey, the Brits are trying to steal Obama away from us!

Look I cannot say that I blame these folks, after all President Obama is fucking amazing!

And I bet he really could fix their country.

(Hell they already have universal health care so that is one less fight to worry about.)

But I think we are still going to need him here.

President Obama is going to be very important to our political process in the years to come, and I feel his leadership will be invaluable to America's future as well.

So sorry Britain, but you just can't have him.

P.S. Hey maybe when Canada is through with Justin Trudeau you could get HIM!

Worth a shot.

Meanwhile in the Trump Twitterverse, he's still arguing the election -

The Electoral College is actually genius in that it brings all states, including the smaller ones, into play. Campaigning is much different!

If the election were based on total popular vote I would have campaigned in N.Y. Florida and California and won even bigger and more easily

The debates, especially the second and third, plus speeches and intensity of the large rallies, plus OUR GREAT SUPPORTERS, gave us the win!

Somebody must have explained the electoral college to trump, because he was in favor of the popular vote a few days ago.
Newsflash trump, you could have pitched a tent in CA and NY and spent the entire campaign commuting between them and you still would have lost both states.
The only reason you won was because so many Americans are ignorant fools who would probably vote a Kardashian into office, provided they had their fears and prejudices stroked adequately. You did not win debates, and your rallies were filled with vitriol, completely devoid of any policy or substance.

The clock is ticking away to inauguration day and Trump has much bigger things to work on but I think he'll always be the same. When the going gets tough, he'll fall back on old grievances via Twitter. The flaws in his character run deep and there is no way he's going to change at all ever.

Still waiting for his first press conference too. He's overdue by normal standards. Should be interesting. Imagine the twitter explosion after it -- what failing media source will he attack LOL

My neighbor is a young white man raising his daughter as a single parent. I had assumed based on previous conversations that he voted for Hillary. Yesterday, color me shocked when he told me he voted for Trump because he'll "shake things up" and he'll stop "enabling the lazy moochers". He also said that he thinks Trump is a babbling idiot but not a criminal like Hillary is...I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Interesting, he is still trying to convince us he won, what is he hiding? the rigged election?

this guy is so transparent it is ridiculous.

Anon at 8:05 am. I think I'd cry. Things are going to be shaken up, there's no doubt about it. But then we're going to end up with a total disaster on our hands. How can so many people be so cavalier about what should be a civic sacred duty - voting. Just because you're bored doesn't mean you go out and vote for a blithering idiot!

I miss my President already! Where did the years go, I was busy having a good life. I wish everything the best for our President and his family in the future, as I wish for the US even though ... Ugh! What have we done? Too many stupids

I'm looking forward to the HGTV show about the White House Christmas decorations. Then i'll take a four year (hopefully no longer) until I watch the show again. I have been so proud to have the Obama family in the White House. The Trumps - never.

How about WE secede from the union and make President Obama our George Washington? Imagine how much he could accomplish with full support of the government and the people!
    Anybody in?

    1. California would like to secede.

We're more than happy for Obama to establish residency here and then be our President. He'd be overseeing an economy in the top ten in the world.

(Go ahead and scoff about water. But we grow a lot of your food.)

Trump can build his fucking wall along our Border. Lake Tahoe stays with us but you can have whatever is left of Reno.

"A political committee that formed in 2015 called “Yes California Independence Campaign” has gained momentum in the wake of Trump’s win. The group aims to put a referendum on the 2018 state ballot to make California an independent country."

I'll vote for it. By 2018 it might get a lot more votes than expected.

Technically, couldn't President Obama run again in 2020? Isn't the law written that a president can only serve two consecutive terms, not that he cannot serve again? President Obama is a young man by political standards, and we know he is great at pulling our country back from the brink of diaster, so why not? (Other than the fact that he and his family would never go for it.)

I'll bet our wonderful President Obama has no interest in doing it again (if legally possible - have no clue!) after the past eight years and all the crap he took from Republicans - to include the lies and major disruption and obstruction.

There are many other things he and First Lady Michelle can do with their lives for the betterment of America and I'm sure they will.

Such a wonderful couple. We are so going to miss them!

It's a riot watching all the Republicans appear on the various TV channels trying to sway the majority voters on how wonderful Donald Trump will be as potus!

They make me want to barf! Trump is an evil, nasty, racist man and has zero business leading (I use that term very loosely)our country.

I still expect to see him assassinated or impeached! I cannot visualize him running between Trump Towers and the White House 'supposedly' working hard, getting along w/our allies, etc. And, I totally expect him to do everything he said while in that nasty and evil campaign mode!

The two term limit is absolute.

      22nd amendment:
"No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of President more than once. But this Article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President when this Article was proposed by Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this Article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term."

The American people are so fortunate that Obama puts country before personal and is willing to go beyond the norm to help Trump transition into the office of the president.

You gotta wonder though how Trump thinks he can just give Bill Clinton a call any old time to pick his brains after the absolutely disgusting things he pulled at the debates.

Personally, beside the fact that trump couldn't be bothered to find out the duties of the president, I have the feeling this is another way to get back at Obama and Bill.

Calling them for advice after all trump has said about them puts them in an awkward position.

If they refuse they look bad on the other hand they have to put their dignity on the line to help the smuck.

So all of these people calling for unity and for silence (not President Obama, he never called for silence, I’m talking about the media), basically to put all of Donald Trump’s actions and words in the past and ignore them and hope for the best – these people’s advice is dangerous. It is the exact wrong thing to do." Just bend over you winny little bitches.

  13. I would like for everyone currently on the Supreme Court to stay healthy for the next four years.

Then I want a democratic president. Also for two conservatives on the Supreme Court to flutter off to that giant courthouse in the sky.

Then I want our shiny new democratic president to put Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama on the bench.

Sure, Hillary might be retire by then, but hey, Hillz, give it a few years just because.

"Barack and Michelle Obama’s new abode comes with nine bedrooms, eight and a half bathrooms, a kitchen decked with marble countertops, and sprawling gardens that could make for a nice Easter egg roll, should the family ever get nostalgic for the White House days.

The Obamas plan to stay in the D.C. area until Sasha graduates from high school next year, reports the The New York Times."
