Just a reminder of who the REAL newly elected President will be.
While we are all shaking in our boots over the prospect of a Donald Trump presidency, we need to remember that when his son approached John Kasich about the VP position it was with the understanding that Kasich would do the actual work while Trump went around "making America great." (What ever the fuck that means!)
Mike Pence ended up with that job, so yes Trump is terrifying at the top of the ticket, but Mike Pence is just as terrifying doing the actual job.

And with both houses of Congress controlled by repubes....
ReplyDeleteHillary received close to a million more votes than Cheeto Jesus. We need to eliminate the electoral college.
ReplyDeleteMore like 200,000.
DeleteThe man looks sinister. Call me shallow, but that's how it is. That his own state couldn't wait to get rid of him speaks volumes.
ReplyDeleteI can't get the image of him as a Nazi gauleiter out of my mind.
DeleteBeaglemom
California couldn't wait to get rid of Governor Ronald Reagan and you people elected him President. TWICE!
DeleteEven the Republicans in Indiana wanted him gone. Did the RNC listen to it's own people? NO. Because winning was more important. Did Drumpf want him as a running mate? NO. But Pence was forced on him.
The RNC is as elitist and deaf to it's own people as the DNC is.
You watch. The next 4 years will be a DISASTER, then the RNC will put up Mike Pence as their nominee in 2020.
My grand-niece is 10 years old. She will have grand children before the Trump appointees leave the supreme court. Trump-Pence is a both a present and future disaster.
ReplyDeleteSauce for the goose....
DeleteFilibuster the hell out of any legislation that threatens to take us back to the dark ages! GOP's constantly opposed PBO's legislative ideas, so we can do the same.
Wow, all news shows are talking how gop have all power now. Just so evil deliciousness. Will there be no repub standing on their own for the better? Wow, do they all go in senate and house like drones in to vote in whatever is put forth? Wow America. Sad America.
ReplyDeleteYup. I have a hard time imagining Trump actually doing the job. In reality, he hasn't worked a job in a long time. And the Presidency is a gruelling job. Figured Pence would get to run it and put his agenda in place. The Democrats in the Senate can make things difficult and I'm sure they will. I've read that there will be plenty of legal challenges should there be a rollback to the dark ages. Four years might seem long, but it will go by quickly and I do believe Trump will disappoint bigly and his followers will realize they were suckered in as part of the reality show that was all about Trump and not them. Promises are cheap - making them reality is something else. And having Pence in charge fulfilling his "religious" mandate won't fulfil Trump's etched in stone promises.
ReplyDeleteTrump thinks he can bring back manufacturing (while manufacturing his crap out of the country). He thinks he can re-employ all those blue collar workers, coal miners and steel workers - how I ask when natural gas is cheaper, automation has changed mining (and manufacturing) forever. Kill Obamacare and then see what the backlash is from all those people with insurance costs rising even more bigly, with children who can't be insured any longer and those with pre-existing conditions (themselves or a family member). For every one of Donnie's promises then are barriers.
I think the next 4 years are going to be a circus, especially with the legal actions that Trump is going to be involved in, before and during his Presidency (starting November 28 LOL).
Totally agree with your thoughtful and well written post 4:05AM.
DeleteThose conservative, white men that will be appointed to the Supreme Court by this clown car will affect the U.S. for decades after I am dead and gone. (I'm a 68 year old progressive female.)
What is helping me get through this terrible disappointment and fear, especially fear for others who don't have the advantage of being older, healthy--at least for now, white and retired like me, is to in my mind and sometimes verbally refer to Trump by his family's real name...Drumpf. His grandfather changed their name upon coming to America.
So, to me, this deplorable president elect, his porn model wife and his children (by three different mothers) are "The Drumpfs".
I also believe that as the many, very deserved legal hits are landed on The Donald, and he goes berserk with anger, Pence will be the actual President...just like Cheney was for "W".
I doubt if Trump ever really worked for a day in his life. He was a poor student, never served in the military, was a dilettante playboy for through his forties, at least. He inherited a lot of money and he collects rent and cheats people. That's what "work" is for Donald Trump. How much like the average American is that?
DeleteBeaglemom
THIS. I said this to my mom last night (a Trump supporter).
ReplyDeleteTHIS MAN is -and I cam't believe I am saying this- more terrifying to me than Donald Trump. I fear for myself, as a woman. All of my LBGT friends. Friends of different colors and religions.
It is basic humanity. This man has none of it.
Just look at the GOP budget and you'll see how things are going to work. There won't be term limits but they will let Trump build his wall. Gotta get him out of their hair. Low hanging fruit illegals will be deported quickly but there won't be huge efforts to find. Food stamps, expanded Medicaid, welfare , OBAMA care will be quickly chopped. Tax cuts will happen. Wall Street is celebrating by the way and Elizabeth Warren is neutered. Democratic Party is useless now for at least two years and I say longer. A lot of this is Sanders doing and his stupid supporters along with third party voters. That really cost clinton the election. Unless they are directly enjoying the very real benefits of a Trump and GOP reign, they made a devastating mistake that will cause suffering for years. Social security disability is going to be cut too. Mental health issues will not be recognized for those who don't have money and family support to pay.
ReplyDeleteIt'll be the time for beautiful people to rule. As for Trump, he has 5 near perfect kids and 8 adorable grandchildren. His children and spouses are the envy of most people.
We need to remember that Trump considers most of the people in this country to be losers. During his campaign he rarely had a positive thing to say about anyone whose last name wasn't Trump.
DeleteBeaglemom
You can kiss Net Neutrality goodbye too. First 100 days.
Deletehttp://www.forbes.com/sites/shelbycarpenter/2016/11/10/heres-what-trump-presidency-will-mean-net-neutrality/#6480f4ef1b15
"Internet providers like Comcast and AT&T have opposed net neutrality and likely view Trump’s election as a victory, at least on this issue (AT&T’s future is complicated by his opposition of the merger with Time Warner). Dish CEO Chris Ergen expressed optimism Trump would make big changes on net neutrality, telling the Wall Street Journal he expected it to be “challenged or weakened going forward.”
Trump is likely to appoint Jeffrey Eisenach the new FCC chairman, according to Politico. A fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, he has been an open and public critic of Chairman Wheeler and his policies. So, step one under the new FCC could be rolling back or undermining the Open Internet Order. It could mean the Internet will no longer be classified as a utility, and ISPs will have the option, say, to make consumers pay more for high-speed access to Netflix. This will have a huge effect on streaming services in particular.
The FCC recently passed new rules that protect consumer privacy by requiring Internet providers to get permission from subscribers before selling their data to third-parties. As with other FCC regulations under Wheeler and Obama, this, too, could be on the chopping block.
Given Trump’s firm anti-regulatory platform, there’s a good chance we can expect major changes like this that limit–or eliminate altogether–net neutrality protections in America."
He also said he looked up to Dick Cheney and would model his Vice Presidency after him. What a guy.
ReplyDeleteWe always suspected that Cheney was running Bush's presidency and Bush was just a puppet. I guess that is confirmed now.
DeleteJust as I cannot comprehend women voting for Trump, I cannot remotely imagine them voting for Pence. He and Trump, unfortunately for the rest of us, are joined at the hip in their perception of women.
ReplyDeleteBeaglemom
This has been one of my fears too. Trump will be a puppet and Pence the puppet master. All of the hard fought for social issue victories will be for naught. He is an evangelical but they kept that quiet for good reasons. He would like to run the government according to the 10 commandments. I not only fear for my child and grandchildren but for myself and hubby as we are about to enter our 60s. Trump will be a do nothing president and smile for the cameras. That is all he wants.
ReplyDeleteThis is exactly what I have been saying to my husband.
ReplyDeleteAnd to the commenter at 4:50...A-FUCKING-MEN. I completely agree. I cannot in any way, shape or form fathom how any woman could have voted for that ticket. Not just Trump (that itself is mind-boggling) but then Pence too???? Do these women not know a damn thing?
Do your due diligence people. Good god.
Pence is one scary dude when it comes to those who are not white and male.
I also told my husband..."may the Goddess help us all."
And he agreed. He thinks some bad things are coming America's way.
dlbvet 5:38 AM wrote: Do your due diligence people.
DeleteTheir diligence is now overdue. Unless something unprecedented happens in the Electoral College, the horse is out of the stable and the cows are out of the barn.
I will show President Trump and the morons who elected him the same respect Republicans have shown President Obama the last 8 years. Go fuck yourselves.
ReplyDelete+1000
Deletenot my president or VPee...NEVER!
DeleteAgree. How soon before someone prints a 2017 calendar with 12 nude photos of new First Lady Melania.
DeleteSure, Melania seems unhappy and didn't sign up for this newest gig, but she married her sugar Daddy Donald. She's now along for the ride and whatever abuse inside or outside the marriage) that comes with it.
@6:36
DeleteYou are so right.
She looked ashey-faced during donnie's victory lap a couple nights ago, not thrilled for her husband.
Her and donnie's simple son, barron, looked like he was in his 'special place' while having to stand next to his dad. Donnie and Barron do not seem to have a warm relationship.
Holy shit, your dad/husband won the POTUS, and you cant even fake a smile, people?
Yeh, Meania knows she's never been under the kind of scrutiny she's about to be.
Let the skeletons out of the closet! There are people who will be coming out of the woodwork with stories and pictures to sell.
I feel sorry for the Americans who voted against Trump.
ReplyDeleteThe rest deserve the narcissistic reality personality they are stuck with.
If he was serious about doing right and changing his image, for a start he needs to:
1. Needs to make apologies to all the people and businesses he screwed over.
2. Apologize to all the women he sexually harassed.
3. Apologize to everybody he offended.
4. Pay back all his taxes.
5. Release his taxes.
6. Open all his books and reveal his ties to Russia.
7. Reimburse and compensate everybody he screwed over.
It is not a great opening and introduction to America of what his ideas are with the people he is considering for his cabinet. The crooked and incompetence which includes SARAH PALIN, NEWT GINGRICH, RUDY GIULIANI, BEN CARSON, CHRIS CHRISTIE AND OTHERS. Trump's bullshit slogan Make America Great Again reminds me of John McCain's with his bullshit slogan Country First.
He will never apologize for anything.
DeleteHowever, his little worker bees are busy scrubbing his website. I guess they think that way he can lie and deny deny deny and it will be true.
But no. There are screen grabs. There are archives. We have video of him saying he is going to ban Muslims. Taking it off the website isn't going to erase it from our memories. (Again, do they not understand the concept of video?)
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/donald-trump-website-purge-muslim-ban_us_5824a0eae4b07751c390d88a
"A controversial statement by President-elect Donald Trump calling for an outright ban on Muslim immigration disappeared from his website in the hours following his unexpected presidential victory.
The statement, released last December, called for “a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country’s representatives can figure out what is going on.” More than 1.6 billion people worldwide practice Islam, and the statement sparked an immediate backlash around the globe.
As of late Wednesday, the page announcing the ban was gone from Trump’s campaign site and available only in an archived form, visible here and included below."
"The deleted language page was part of a sweeping purge of content from the Trump campaign site, which included removing all of Trump’s hundreds of campaign press releases as well as individual pages on the site that had featured endorsements and announcements.
Also missing Thursday was a section titled “Issues,” which contained short video clips of Trump talking into the camera about an array of topics, including “Political Correctness,” “Trade War” and the opioid epidemic in New Hampshire."
Didn't Hitler have a similar propaganda arm of his administration?
American Taliban. Not pretty.
ReplyDeleteHow American is Trump and his family? The products their companies sale are imported from the countries they are complaining took our jobs.
ReplyDeleteEven the Make America Great Again hats are not made in the US.
DeleteReagan's son just made a comment a lot of us overlooked. Trump is coming into office with no endorsement from any of the former presidents.
ReplyDeleteI saw him say that too. America is in huge trouble and I can't believe how many stupid Americans we have that voted for this horrible team to lead our country.
DeleteI see dictatorship - getting rid of minorities - blocking our borders - and civil war coming to fold amongst us.
I did not vote for Trump and he is NOT my POTUS.
Thank you President Obama and VP Biden for your leadership, love and kindness to Americans and the world!
I saw him on MSNBC and was also startled by that statement. So true.
DeleteVery glad to see Ron Reagan back on TV as I enjoy his thoughtful and heart felt comments.
Does Mike Pence smoke? If so, I hope it becomes his long and lingering death.
ReplyDeleteBeaglemom
I'm curious why an otherwise supposedly healthy man has such sparse eyebrows, yet isn't balding on top.
DeleteI lost my eyebrows to endocrine disease. Questions need to be asked about this sheet-wearer's health.
It's not hard to imagine Mike Pence wearing a Nazi uniform. I am very frightened. Hopefully he will be stopped from destroying the country.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know how to end the Electoral College? It's time to take the country back.
I was just about to say what you just said. Weird how we are all thinking the same.
DeleteI'm sure Pence and the Trump offspring will be photoshopped into many Nazi uniforms.
DeleteThere is a workaround to the electoral college thing the states are working on that wouldn't involve eliminating it, which would be difficult but would basically award electors by agreeing to give them to whoever won the popular vote. Naturally only the blue states are signing on to this because, let's face it, the two times in memory the winner of the electoral college did NOT win the popular vote has put Republicans in the Oval Office.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Popular_Vote_Interstate_Compact
21 states have no laws that electoral voters vote the party line.
ReplyDeleteRed states? Like they're going to switch? Not going to happen.
DeleteYou're not going to get 40 electors to change their votes to Hillary.
Plus the fallout would be as bad as what has already happened. It would delegitimize not only the presidency but also the election process.
We are stuck with President Fuckface Von Clownschtick.
Ick, I just can't see whore and rapist in the whitehouse. Just disgusting.
ReplyDeleteAs well as their bratty kids who have workers in foreign countries making their wares and the orange pig not providing taxes. American presidents should reveal american taxes! Its only "American".
DeleteYears from now, after this fiasco, people will write how Trump was so protected by the devil that he could threaten to shoot people on the street and get away with it. He could rape a girl and get away with it. The list is long for this guy. Then this book will talk about all his atrocities, and there will be many, and how everyone was fooled because of his shameless demagogy. Historians will see how the white man panicked once again because he felt he was being obliterated by the melting pot. History will see how Putin was quietly using Assuange and Snowden to undermine the computer system we rely on in this country to help Trump win. This history book won't be written for a hundred years. Because the world will have to heal and recover from the coming onslaught. The global crisis of hurricanes, floods, and thensome. You were warned, earth. But now, because as humans, we are survivalist, we get through this day, this week, the month, this year, next year, and take what Trump throws our way. The media at this point can not be trusted. He manipulated them so badly, and they fell for it like puppies. Trump is under a demonic protection and he will have his way.
ReplyDeleteSomeone is already writing that book. It will probably be published before Trump leaves office, by election, impeachment or in a body bag.
DeleteWhat happens during the White House Easter egg hunt?
ReplyDeleteDo parents have to think twice before letting their daughters near the perv?
Mike Pence also believes that banning condoms will reduce the rate of abortions. For realz, he believes this.
ReplyDeleteHis supporters defend this stance by saying that if people don't have protection, they won't have sex. For realz, they say this.
It is just ugly!!! That orange ass! In our whitehouse. The devil himself in Americas whitehouse. His whore porno wife!!! Yuck, yuck, yuck! I must join the protest with s 6 ft porno eife picture! I dm just digusted. BBush got fired and we Americans suppose to allow these pos in the highest office in the land?
ReplyDeleteSo unfit in the role of usprez.
ReplyDeleteThis. Don't take it lightly. Just Google Mike Pence Indiana Governor. I reluctantly live in Indiana, and if he does to the nation what he did to Hoosiers we are in trouble. Also, unlike Trump, Mike Pence is "smart," and knows how to play the political game.
ReplyDelete
